killed a month ago on january the third. >> speak to al jazeera and they will start by telling us how this news has been received in the jordan. >> firstly, we have received government reaction as well as reaction from the jordanian army. in a statement by the spokesperson of the jordanian army he said that the jordanian armed forces is announcing his killing and warning that his blood will not be shed in vain and that the response will be as grave as the anger of all jordanian people. we have also had the minister of information appear on jordan's state t.v., answering questions from a presenter and giving the official government reaction which basically threatened harsh reaction. and returned the ever the killing oif pilot, and he said that those that adoubted the
2:03 pm
atrocities now have the proof and those who doubted jordan's power, will soon see the proof as well. and he said that his blood will not be shed in vein, and he is not the first martyr in jordan's glorious history and will not be the last. we have also learned an important piece of information, which is that according to the army, as you said, he was killed on january 3rd, that's exactly one month ago this must have been intelligence information that recently was received be i the jordanian government, otherwise i do not believe that jordan would have entered any me gouations with isil on a possible prisoner exchange deal. including kenji goat toe. they had it known that he was killed this is why jordan repeatedly requested proof of life, now that said, we are seeing a number of t.v. channels quoting an unnamed security source as saying that who is on the death row, as
2:04 pm
well as another four prisoners also on death row in jordan and convicted of crimes related to terrorism will be executed in the coming hours. we have not been able to confirm that ourselves and also we do not know who the security source is. but what we can confirm, i can tell you, what we have been able to confirm throughout the day from the families of two of these prisoners one who is an iraqi prisoner. he is also on death row in jordan convicted of killing a jordanian truck driver, in iraq a few years ago and also of being a member of a outlawed organization, as well as another prison his parches confirm that he has been moved from his prison cell to a prison in jordan. just outside on the prison, this prison is the only prison
2:05 pm
in jordan where executions are carried out. so this news may very well be confirmed in the coming hours and the last report we heard is that these executions could happen as early as wednesday morning. >> one of the big questions now in fact for the wider community is how might the murder how might that now effect jordan's contribution to the anti-isil coalition. >> quell, there are many voices for this. and in the past hour or so, we have been hearing more from jordanians, who are standing near the prime ministry right now holding the peaceful sit in against isis, say that they are more convinced than ever in jordan's role in participating in the international coalition against isil. and we have also had the form affairs committee and parliament also saying that now we are more determined to be part of the score. after the murder and the
2:06 pm
killing. and you also heard other voices people who will saying that they hold the jordanian government responsible for his killing, because had the jordanian government not enters this coalition this would have never happened. and why they would have never been captured. so it is a lot of mixed feelings here, but what i can tell you is that people are really angry and repulsed by what happened and contrary to other videos we have seen released by isil, allegedly showing the beheading of other hostages burning someone alive in islam is against the values of islam, and that's angers jordanians even more, and that video said the pilot was planning to shell and burn the people in syria so we decided to burn him at the response. >> thank you so much indeed
2:07 pm
for the moment. a lot of political obviously diplomatic activity. burr there is one person at the heart of the story. he is the first coalition airman to be captured and now killed by isil. his f 16 plane crashed on december the 24th he was 26, married only three months, before he lost his freedom. his family friends and supporters has called oen the government to secure his release while also voicing opposition to jordan's involvement in the fight against isil. our sons are being sent to fight outside the bo border, this is not our business, and the war is jut side the borders our son was sent on a military mission, in order to be killed. >> public opinion in jordan is split, over the country's membership of the coalition.
2:08 pm
but support for the government to negotiation where the captors has been overwhelming. >> we definitely want the jordanian government to intervene. because he is a soldier of the kingdom. he is a jordanian citizen. and he is our son. >> while jordan has a policy not to me the gaucheuate with isil it's government made an exception. as spokes man said jordan's stance from the beginning has been to security the life of lieutenant. in return for the pilot's release, jordan offered to meet an isil demand for handing over this woman, would bees is bomber. she is on death row after bombing attacks more than nine years ago, in the which 60 people died. deadlines passed, isil demands were made using japanese hostage in the video and audio messages. than he was murdered.

an edited video posting on the internet. >> they are from a big up flownble tribe in the south of jordan. they toned down their protests during what they described as politically sensitive times p but one of the pilots brothers made it clear that they were sin unhappy. >> i think on this war is not our war. here. and offer jordanian citizens said this and this statement and the dash of isis the war is our is no our war. >> and now i'm very sad about my brother but i believe that god will bless him. and i hope he will take him to his home. >> but once again no mercy

was shown by isil. and another life lost and in jordan now there will be more division more protests, over the country's role in the american led coalition against isil. andrew simmons, al jazeera. within the united states along with the foreign minister when he heard the news, he now cutting short his visit to return to jordan. let's go life now who is at the state department, in the washington, d.c. rosalyn, what sort of reaction has there been in the u.s. in response to this fuse. >> well, certainly when the king was meeting with the u.s. secretary of state john kerry alongside his foreign minister this morning here in washington they had not heard word that this video of the execution had been released internationally. certainly, now we have confirmed that the king is going to be cutting short his u.s. trip, he had a whole
2:11 pm
meetings and he is going to instead return to lead his country in mourning the pilot's death. the reaction here in the u.s. is one of solidarity, with the kingdom of jordan, this is the president barack obama speaking earlier on tuesday. >> should in fact this video be authentic, it is just one more indication, of the viciousness and barbarity of this organization. and it will redouble the individual lense and determination on the part of a global coalition to make sure that they are degraded and ultimately defeated. and it also just indicated the degree to which whatever ideology they are operating off of it is bankrupt. >> i guess a key question is
2:12 pm
how will this murder effect the anti-isil coalition? what will it do in the many states taking part many the coalition. >> i raised that question at today's briefing and the department spokesperson said that as of right now, there was no indication from other arab countries taking part in the campaign against isil, that any of them were having second thoughts as it were. that they would somehow pull back their involvement which has included air strikes against isil's targets inside syria. so we are now waiting a briefing coming from the pentagon, which of course, has been front and center in the military response against isil. and we will bring a update to our viewers about the pentagon's view of the situation, in later newscasts. >> we look forward to that, the ever the moment, thank you for joining us. >> all right, the rest of the day's news is still ahead including hopes that al
