way through the snow here hello. danish police say the man responsible for attacks on two targets in copenhagen was a danish born 22-year-old with a background in criminal gangs. he was shoot dead early on sunday morning after he opened fire on them. earlier, he had shot dead a guard outside a synagogue. >> followed a manhunt followed by saturday's attempt in which one person was killed and several police officers injured in from copenhagen nick spicer reports. >> police remain vigilant after what's being described as their biggest ever operation in recent history. the prime minister thanked them on sunday morning and said it was time for the country to come together. >> we are not in a fight between it'slam and the west. this is not a battle between

international firestorm with people attacking danish embassies and boycotting danish goods because the newspaper published caricatures of the muslim prophet mohammed and that offense did not go away. there were death threats leveled against some of the caricaturists, plots to murder them solved by the police. the attempted murders did not take place. the free speech discussion which took place on saturday was precisely on the subject of caricatures and free speech and the limits of blas fem neand so on and one of the artists who had drawn -- made a drawing of the prophet was actually in attendance. so this is something that has been part of a national conversation for a while. whether or not there would be some payback, if you will for that publication and for the resentment that has been caused

here in recent weeks. the situation may be calmer in other areas of this region since the cease-fire was called but the shelling continues not far from here. >> the separatist controlled town of oglegorsk, one of the closest towns to debaltseve truce. >> the military say the separatits started the shelling after the truce began.

a few kilometers back from the front line around debaltseve, these men aren't fighting for the first time in weeks. they use the opportunity to train. many of these volunteers had never used weapons like this until recently. they tell us to crouch down behind their makeshift glass wall before they throw their grenades. the tanks aim at target did in a distant field. there is a deep distrust that the ukrainian army here. >> we are training because it's a cease-fire not a truce. there have been many cease-fires before. we don't believe in them anymore. the ukrainians have already broken them many times. most civilians have either been evacuated or left towns close to debalseve. the fighting in this area isn't over yet.

they were released on bail last week after 411 days in jail. their previous conviction was was thrown out. they are charged with coludding with the banned muslim brother. al jazeera is calling on the court to release the case and release them unconditionally. a court in jordan has jailed the deputy's head of the muslim brotherhood for criticizing the united arab emirates. one of the hiett profile figures to be imprisoned was arrested in november after criticizing. uae's decision to brand the brotherhood a terrorist group. it is jordan's largest opposition party and has substantial grassroots support. >> ten people have been killed and more than 30 injured in a bomb blast in northeast nigeria. witnesses say a female suicide bomber detonated the device in a crowded bus station. police say the target was a military convoy. the armed group boko haram has been actingve in that area. p. >> more than 30 people suspected
