just as isil fighters act which is not friendly to the local population. if you will certainly -- there's also reports of house militias the revenge killings and the likes by the new forces. in fact, one of the shiite leaders themselves, has already warned against the kinds of crime against the local population, that the new forces entering there might be committing. so against the back drop of that violence that we have seen in the country over the last dozen years i think many among the sunnies might view the forces as invaders rather than liberators. >> what is the danger here with isil fighters who are now pretty experienced. but presumably outnumbered you would expect those to win but a fight against isil won't be easy for them. >> there is no future for isil

in iraq or anybody else. the question is at what cost. those fighters are ready to die for what they believe in and to maintain control of those areas they also thrive on this violence, and the costs they are ready to pay and exact on the local population is so high that one wondered what will happen to decrete once this fight is over. they are already blowing bridges and taking a stand and they know this will be the toast for what might happen in the rest of iraq. >> you then have mosul which is the most logical step. there's a massive dam there and millions of people in it's path that will be the real test, isn't it. >> that's right.

you know, david for some of us that have been following this we have talked about this over the years the rise for isis from the outset, has fed on and sectarianism in iraq. and on the interference, and certainly since the american invasion this is a situation that has evolved that has allowed for the rise of isis. if we are going to see more of the same, with the new forces taking over the sunni areas i am afraid isis will still have some popular support among certain sunnies who view the iranian backed shiite militias as no less of an offense against them as the isil forces. >> thank you. elsewhere the army has gained ground on the outskirts of
