12:14 pm
brought in very positive outcomes. i would like to emphasize and this is a message by the command of the coalition to our fellow fighters and brothers in the yemen armed forces within the past 24 hours and operations were concentrated on the bra -- brigades and these brigades had other assaults from the coalition sources and are fully aware most of the officers yemen officers, soldiers and troops are obligated to obey orders from the houthi malitias and the other commanders and officers for the ousted
12:15 pm
president. and we reiterate it is not our target to attack them. that is why from our position here we polled on the yemen officers soldiers and troops to refrain from cooperating with houthi malitias to listen to the voice of reason and listen to the officers under the legitimate authority and presidency of yemen and to join forces defending the yemen citizens and yemen territorial integrity. again, it's those subversive of yemen and should continue to defend yemen. those from among them who have fallen we call to accept this and those are a speed recovery
12:16 pm
and command of the coalition are fully aware of their respective duties and possibilities to the military operations carried out in yemen. yet mainly steering away from civilians and as you are fully aware that the houthi malitias are under the brunt of continued assault from our campaign are seeking to shift the battleground inside the cities and villages making the task more difficult yet, we cannot allow them to achieve this goal very positive outcomes have been achieved over the past 84 hours. based on in the coalition forces are fully aware of their responsibility and international alliance being informed on the basis of a nobel goal and
12:17 pm
salvage the yemen people in response to their legitimate authority and the pinpointed targets and we are close contact with the nobel, honest men of the yemen armed forces and popular resistance on the ground in order to ensure that the targets hit are military targets under the control of the houthi malitias. again, the coalition is a nobel and fully aware of their responsibilities and regional and international levels and also send out a message to the release of people who are waiting to provide assistance on relief aid to the yemen people. the coalition forces mentioned today and we repeat today that
12:18 pm
one of these status of this operation is to allow the release of aid into the yemen or the yemen citizens of all walks of life without discrimination with those affiliated with houthi and not fighting with houthi malitias or other walks of life. and again the current conditions mandate that we should provide the necessary and positive environment for aid to have access on the ground. we are now in close contact and coordination with relief aid in order to provide access and set schedules and assign the rules through which they can act in
12:19 pm
line with the military campaign to ensure relief aid is reaching the needy person not the fighting malitias. from the very first day of the operations the u.n. tried to affect their subjects, the planes were already on the ground yet it was the houthi and the supporters who obstructed the eviction process. during the -- throughout the course of the day was reported in the media that certain victims have fallen in a daily product mill or a refugee camp. i emphasize that the coalition forces mentioned on a number of occasions that the houthi malitias are playing as expected taking human beings
12:20 pm
civilians as shield. and also bombarding them. this is a clear indication of their despair to achieve any military goals. secondly they are trapped inside residential areas. we have crippled their movement on the access roads, that is why we have been trapped inside residential areas and using civilians as human shields. as we speak fighting is racing between the houthi malitias and the popular resistance fighters. the information we receive from the ground proves that it was alternative borders and rockets from houthis that is the fact. again, we know that the houthi
12:21 pm
malitias are manipulating through their media outlets in order to instigate the people and they are fully aware this operation is going to restore the serenity attacked by the houthis. again, it was targeted by the houthis malitias and, again the coalition forces cannot attack the cap or the factory. our intelligence operations that we are conducting before launching the military operation have pinpointed the targets clearly. we have formed a coalition to rid the yemen people from the
12:22 pm
domination and manipulation of the houthis and cannot and will not target such targets. our operations continue to target houthis buckets. the video shown demonstrates weapons people. this is one of the few stations. this was targeted not the building. we targeted the fuel pump. not the building. this was a pinpointed target as we meant to target the pump not the building as we are here and the operation is meant to cripple the houthi movement. again, the pump itself was targeted, not the building.
12:23 pm
one of the military has weapons and ammunition was directly targeted and hit, intelligence information confirmed that there are military gear weapons and ammunitions inside. our operations yesterday focused on two axes first to hit the target and hit them with military gear, weapons and ammunitions that have been hidden by the houthi malitias. also, we continued our operation to prevent the houthi malitias from reaching aiden. this this, what you are seeing are weapons depot and man centers
12:24 pm
and pockets of houthi fighters. this is the 7th consecutive day of the campaign and we are still at the weapons depot and clear amount of military gear weapons and ammunition. the houthis are in position especially those seized following the coup. throughout the operations carried out throughout the seven days, we have not targeted any residential areas and those demonstrated yesterday were at the outskirts of aiden, not inside the residential
12:25 pm
gatherings. as a matter of fact with respect to ground operation the artillery of the royal saudi forces are carrying out duties preventing houthi malitias from coming near the borderline. what we have noticed so far is isolated incidents, a group of three or four houthi fighters and they responded to it. maritime operation is also underway. the coalition forces deployed battleships for maritime seas. the ships have been deployed as planned, monitoring and surveilling the port and all the islands located in the local and
12:26 pm
all this under surveillance. also the helicopter taken off from the battleships are mostly monitoring the coastal lines and we will prevent the arrival of any support or assistance to the houthi fighters. the final point i would like to demonstrate is that today the popular resistance managed to force out the remnants of brigade 33 and houthi malitias at the outskirts of aldada city the entire city is now under the total control of the armed forces and the popular resistance. fighting is still underway yet we have positive indications this is living proof that we are
12:27 pm
gaining advancement on the ground in favor of the yemen forces and popular resistance. the coalition will continue to assess targets around the clock, minimizing any possibility of error. also minimizing any possibility of targeting civilians and again we raise the goal to the organization order to coordinate with the society organization for further coordination. now i open the floor for questions questions. >> thank you what about the houthis ability [too low to hear]

we seem to have a break in translation and you have been watching a long press conference there for spokesperson for the saudi-led coalition carrying out air strikes for seven days on houthi targets in yemen and we have a little time left on the program but i want to speak to richard white director for the center of political military analysis at the institute at the washington d.c. base think tank. clearly the spokesperson there is very keen to point out the successes so far as he sees it of this particular campaign pointing out targeting military and not civilian targets but i wonder how you see as an outsider the offense at the moment and it appears to me the air strikes don't appear to have that much effect on the houthis what are your thoughts? >> yes, i would put out to comments. first it's hard to be sure for

anybody in the americans british as well as the society and they have air strikes that they will avoid civilian casualty particularly in this case it will be interspersed and related to the question of the effectiveness. i mean air strikes are great if you are going to battle with for example saddam hussein's army to kickoff the tanks and sand launchers and so on but in this case with small bands of fighters interspersed with civilians fighting in all sorts of uniform it's really hard to be effective without some kind of strong ground force and it's the same problem in the united states is facing in iraq and syria that air strikes alone don't get you much without a good local ally. >> bear in mind a spokesperson said it will continue until all objectives have been achieved. does it appear to you that some sort of ground force will need to be
