video showing the scene, that is about 13-kilometers outside the capitol. it is known as nepal's culture gem. many have been badly damages by the quake. al jazeera has managed to reach one of those regions in the east. a rural district just outside, 1600 people are confirmed to have died. the actual figure may be as high as 5,000. >> from the village. what we are seeing here is extraordinary, look these people five days after this earthquake struck, trying to go through their homes what is left of them. it is just a pile of rubble, look over there people still in shock.

night here. this is the coldest night i have felt since i arrived here. still sloping out in the open. and you know despite all the devastation, we have had good news. but you know throughout all this devastation you do find today as i went around the city some people trying to get things baaing to normal. just five days after the earthquake struck, it was canceled because many of the guests here themselves were sleeping outside in tents. and even though we don't know we canceled the waiting.
