saudi arabia ground troops have been deployed in yemen's port city of aden to support forces of abd-rabbu mansour hadi. we joined live on the phone. it was just a few days ago that the saudi government announced the campaign was entering a new phase, was this phase expect? >> yes, there is an element of surprise in this. they haven't been showing a lot of prepares to really be on the ground in yemen. we have seen them amassing troops on the boarder for the last several weeks. this is a surprise to many people. many inside and outside. it is a force that has been deployed is limited. we don't know if it is made of

saudis or other counties, we know that the egyptian president has been here for a new hours. also for a surprise just. and there was that was revealed about the intentions. egypt has the biggest contribution outside of saudi arabia. that's where it was talked about at the beginning of the campaign. surprise beginning and que don't know how big they'll come to that. etch was expecting the ate by the saudi arabia border. probably on the border. that's where they have more impacts. this is a developing situation, we'll have more detail.

roads are destroyed and parents missing. they have been looked after. this shelter for girls set up. now they are taking in survivors of the quake. given the inception. she is sleeping with them and the others were sleeping. at night if there was any big attacks, or tremor you have to go out. i showed them how to go out. i made a drill for them. >> a drop of survivors became close, spending most of their time toot. it introduced measures and taut the girls maths and science. they are tackling the arts.

is where the port and others were closed in yemen on the onset of the aerial bombardments we may have to pause. there's a new development in the story. saudi arabia is denying that ground troops have been deployed to aden. in the last few minutes reports that there were ground troops that engaged in fighting. to be clear the saudi arabia is denying that. we will dig and get information on this. obviously if ground troops are involved that's an escalation of the operation. saudi arabia is denying ground troops have been deployed to yemen. a televised trial began in afghanistan of an alleged limping mob. 49 appeared in court in kabul, including 19 men accused of

failing to stop the attack. a 27-year-old was beaten to death and her charred body thrown into a river. her murder triggered days of protest, international condemnation about the treatment of afghan women. this is an independent lawyer joining us from kabul. we appreciate your insight on this. this particular trial with nearly 50 people is about something horrific that happened to a woman. what is the significance of something like this going to trial in afghanistan? well i believe that it has a lot of significant things along with it. i see it as a positive sign for the judicial system in afghanistan. we have been complaining that the judicial system is not funning. this is a tart of it

functioning. the trial went for two days, and hopefully we'll have more hearings. the judge will make sure he understanding everything about the case. the judge is understanding that his duty... >> continue. >> the judge has to understand his duty. and deciding to see during the last part of the law, from the police higher ranking officials, very have a lot of respect from the courts. they come back because they were subpoenaed by the judge to appear before the court.
