tremendous ball player. he has more hits than any other player by a pretty good shot. and over ty cobb who was way ahead of number 3. you argue shouldn't he be looked at for hall of fame purposes as what he did on the field? >> yeah and i think if you look over the last bunch of years there's been a real ground swell of support for pete rose's reinstatement. >> do you think this is going to kill that? >> well i think it's -- i think you possibly have to look at some rehabilitation of pete rose pos humannously at this point. but he is very big figure on the ball field. i saw how he was with people. he never seemed to be overly impressby his real achievements he was a regular guy doing extraordinary things. >> he hangs out with people that he really sort of is sort of an
