hatred or pride? the division caused by flag. we begin with breaking news this hour. document its released by the whistle blowing website wikileaks said that the security agency has spied on three presidents including france's current leader françois hollande saying that the u.s. spied on the president from 2006 to 2012. the french president security council will hold more in a meeting. we have more, what more what more details do we have? >> well, wikileaks hasped out a release of elected extracts of highlights of some of these cables, the most recent one is three years old. it relates that hollande has

ordered or approved a secret meeting with members of germany opposition without the knowledge of germany chancellor angela merkel to talk about the eurozone crisis. that's was three years ago. another earlier won from 2010, that the ambassador to the united states had a discussion with the diplomatic adviser in which they revealed topics of a meeting between sarkozy and obama and sarkozy's frustration of washington stepping back on a bilateral intelligence agreement and the united states' insistence to continue to spy on france. as of now we've heard no further

discussion, at least no public discussion whether those kinds of discussions with the french havefrench have gone anywhere. >> and have we had any reaction to these leaks yet? >> there's been no reaction from the united states. first, there has been no reaction from the french government as of yet. but remember just about a year and a half ago french hollande publicly reprimanded or would describe his upset with previous disclosures of u.s. spying on the french. in this case it was 70 million phone calls in the matter of one month by the nsa and more recently there were german reports that the german intelligence agency had enlisted or asked by the nsa and had agreed to help them in semiing

in spying on the french. we have not heard of any up take on that. president hollande has talked about a code of conduct but he specifically has not asked for an agreement, a non-disclosure or an agreement that the united states does have with four of its other allies, the u.s. canada, australia and new zealand that they would not spy on each other. there is no agreement in force barring that kind of spying, and that seems to be the case up until now. >> tom ackerman with that late breaking story for us. thank you tom. >> kurdish fight necessary syria have made significant gains against the islamic state in iraq and the levant or isil. they have pushed isil out of the town 50 kilometers north of

raqqa. the kurds withheld from u.s. airstrikes forced isil to retreat from a base north of raqqa. that base called brigade 93 is important because it leads to other outposts in in aleppo and hasakah. >> this kurdish fighter said that they discovered a tunnel used by the islamic state in iraq and the levant on the syrian-turkish border. it's not clear whether they use the tunnel to smuggle in people or materials from turkey into syria. the people's protection units have been making gains on the border and have taken back territory from isil. the latest discovery was after they took this border post now that the fight something over, hundreds return to their home. despite kurdish forces pushing back isil there are concerns
