launching. the question from athens this hour: will the banks open on monday or not? the reuters news agency has just reported they won't. there is growing numbers of greeks queuing to withdraw money. banks kept afloat from the european central bank are on the front line as athens moves toward defaulting on a 1.6 bureau payment due to the international monetary fund on tuesday. grease's finance minister has spoken in the last hour to the stability counsel. >> we at the finance ministry are beginning a process who's goal is to secure as much as possible and we will do it, stability and everything that has to be done so that this decision by your 0 group has the least possible consequences on the everyday life of greek citizens. from tomorrow, the greek people will show with their clear

athens, friends and relatives, everyone has been to the bank at some point in the last couple of months expecting some sort of precipitous development in the ongoing negotiations which have been growing increasingly defendant and the confrontational language has been ramping up on both sides as the greeks have submitted more and more proposals. just four in the last month alone, all of which have been rejected by creditors and the greek side has been becoming increasingly impatient with those rebuttals. so, a this rhetoric has ramped up across the continents people here at home have grown increasingly worried, all just about all of the people i know in my neighborhood have been to the bank. they have all taken out some money in order to get by for what they assume will be a few days of crisis while banks remain closed. this moment has been long awaited. it won't come as a surprise, i think to many people if capitol

we are hearing nasa says this fair your is not going to deter it from the ambitious space program with space x. should it? >> no. it shouldn't. these things h the budget represents this from happening. it really takes into consideration so there are six astronautz in the international space station. they are not in danger. there is another resupply vehicle from russia a capsule will come to bring more supplies. it's not a major thing from that point of view. a lot of things to learn because this kind of spacecraft is going to take in a couple of years time. the idea is to take us to the space station. this is the third failure they have had in the past few months of this one in january, one in april? >> yes. we have to be careful here they have launched 18 rockets in different access. 6 of them have been successful in delivering cargo to the space

station. these failures we are talking about is they have a very ambitious program. the rockets has two stages. the first stage and the second stage and they separate the first stage, the idea is that the first stage will come down. it will land softly on a barge floating in the ocean. that's the first thing it has been attempted in order to be reused and they tried to at least twice already and those were the failures we are talking about. this is the third one. the rocket has been destroyed the failure is to try to recover these first stage in order to relaunch it again. >> hasn't been successful so far. >> so you don't think that it should have cause for thought? there is no worry about the have national space station right now. do you think russia should have reconsidered the use of space x or its future plans? >> no, not at all. these failures are -- i mean,t these rockets have to be 100% reliable and it's not the case

unfortunately in some cases. if you like the video we just saw now the specificlation but it looks like the two stages were just about to separate after two minutes, over two minutes. the first stage is to separate by a pneumatic system and then a few seconds later, the second stage and it looks like the second stage started earlier from the video i could see but early stages. >> because we don't have a lot of time you have explained what went wrong. is it something that would be easy to fix? i guess? >> yes. i think it will be easy to fix. we have these failures with the space shuttle before and it was fixed. it was success after that. so these failures are important for learning. unfortunately in this case there was no human life in danger. >> francisco diego at the department of physics and astronomy university college london. thank you for sharing your expertise with us.
