what was your objective in doing this? >> a couple of things we wanted to show that cars were vulnerable. and people - when i grew up. cars didn't have computers. they do, it's expected to the internet. we wanted to draw attention to that. we wanted to make sure that auto manufacturers are doing their best to make cars secure. i don't want to drive down the highway and worry about something happening to me. >> that is the frightening thing. you are able to take control of the car without being near it. >> that's right. >> how many cars could be vulnerable. >> the number of cars that this effects is - we estimate around 300-400. this is what we figure out. could we have chosen any vulnerable car? >> we know for sure that the crisis - that includes vipers

jeeps, chrysler 200s amongst others. >> could you choose any one randomly. >> yes. >> or choose one on purpose. if you had a beef with someone, could you choose their car. >> you can scan the internet and find cars and attack them using the techniques we develop. if i went after a particular car, it's a little harder. the only way to do that - is it scan all the cars and pick it out. car number one. is it the one i'm looking for. go to two or three. it may take horse or days. it's not as practical to attack a single car. if you want to attack random cars, it's easy and fast. conceivably anyone with a car with internet connectivity should be concerned. >> the flaw that we found, there's no reason to think that

chrysler was the only manufacturer, any car is vulnerable. >> you have been sharing the research with chrysler. it can be patched. i told them about this in october. they have close to nine months to fix it. they are fixed to the group. they can't update the cars. the driver has to download the update and stick it in the car, or the driver needs to take it into the dealer to get in service. do we need legislation. senator said it was to protect against cyber hackers. >> right. absolutely, we have been working on this as well. we really think that you know. the auto manufacturers are not

a growing number of children in america are living in poverty, according to a study by the mec casey foundation. one in five kids, 16 million children were living in poverty in 2013, 3 million more than at the beginning of the recession. for hispanic children the numbers were worse. more than a third living beyond the poverty line. we take a look at what this

means for children in los angeles. >> these are faces of l.a.'s most fragile families. they and the other children who attend summer day camp here at the old people's community center in los angeles live in poverty. the center is a life line providing education call programs, a safe place to play and healthy meals. what are you having for lunch? >> i finished eating a hot dog. i guess this is a something. >> cellry and milk. >> reporter: do you have access to healthy food at home? >> yes, but sometimes we run out. >> reporter: so you don't always have enough of the healthy food. >> yes. >> reporter: coming here, do you know you'll have a healthy lunch? >> yes. >> reporter: without the center many children would go hungry. daisy runs the youth county.
