figures show a dramatic incline in bengal tying are numbers. tiger numbers. >> hello the u.s. and turkey are discussing the creation of an i.s.i.l.-free buffer zone along turkey's southern border with syria. and turkey appears to be increasing its involvement in military operation he in iraq and syria. following last week week's bombing in suruc which killed 32 people. ankara has been accused of shelling a kurdish village in syria, ypg are battling the islamic state of iraq and the levant. but the government says it's not targeting syrian kurds and are investigating those claims. well that alleged shelling followed several days of turkish strikes in northern iraq targeting kurdish and i.s.i.l. forces known there as the pkk.

nato will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the situation requested by turkey. zeina khodr has the story. turkey says it is cooperating with ground forces already inside syria. those troops are not syria's kurds who the coalition have been relying on but opposition groups fighting both i.s.i.l. and the syrian government. the prime minister says they have agreed that those opposition groups should be protected. the agreement we reached has covered our concerns and expectations up to a certain level. i cannot go into details but for example an important point was the air cover for freams free syrian army and other groups who fight

against daesh. it is an open secret that turkey is not happy with the loins the kurds have expand he theired their borders. it doesn't want the kurds to create a state and inflamed separatist it also considers the ypg and offshoot of the pkk the kurdistan workers party which it has declared war on and more importantly it doesn't want the kurds to be the only force on the ground to be partners with the coalition. turkey has spelled out the conditions the ypg needs to meet before it can be part of what the prime minister called the new syria. it will need to cut its links with the syrian government and cooperate with opposition groups. so far the kurds have refused to joijjoined forces with the main
