59 people are missing. and barbecue, the families thanks to a savings scheme in south africa. the u.n. envoy to yemen says peace talks will reconvene on january the 14th after negotiations in switzerland ended without agreement. earlier, saudi news agency reported that one saudi civilian and two indian workers were killed in nadran by rockets fired from yemen. the saudi led coalition on the outskirts of the capitol and pro-government forces say they are advancing towards sanaa which is held by the houthirenals after seizing other towns from them in recent days. >> despite a week-long cease-fire which was supposed to be in force since tuesday when peace talks began. u.n. special envoy for yemen has

been speaking at a news conference in the past half hour. >> as of now, until we meet at the next round of talks, we have decided to hold this on the 14th of january from now until that round, we will have the utmost efforts with all of the parties concerned in order to maintain the cease-fire or truce until we reach a permanent truce nationwide to guarantee the safety and security of the yemeni citizens. at least six unlawful airstrikes in residential areas of the capital, sanaa in september and october, 2015 killing some 60 civilians. let's get more on all of this now. i am joined in the studio bottom craig based in yemen for over 40 years. iona, we know these talks are going to reconvene january 14th, just a couple of weeks from now.

why will this next round succeed where previous rounds of talks have failed? >> they may not. i think really, all that's happened this week other than obviously lifting the siege and getting humanitarian aid in there which is import is agreeing to the next round of talks. so that's agreeing on agreeing to talk really. that's as far as we are getting at the moment. as you were talking about the fighting there, really, it looks like the coalition is trying to pick up pressure once again we saw this in september and the conflict got bogged-down. at the moment it's hard to be optimistic that really there are any closer to reaching a political deal or settlement that will result in a long-term cease-fire at the moment. >> in terms of changing the dynamic, it just seems as though every time they come to the

table, there is a complete lack of commitment or political willingness to really engage with each other. we have seen now an escalation in the airstrikes in sanaa. it just seems as though they are still trying to gain the upper hand on the ground so they don't have to make so many con sessions at the negotiating table. >> yes, of course, you know, this agreement to keep talking is really takes the pressure off of them just to keep fighting. so there is a huge amount of pressure from the u.n., from the international community, to try and get everybody to the table to try and reach this political agreement that everybody says has to be the only and is the only solution to this conflict. but just by agreeing to go along with the u.n. and the international community in this means that they can just ke keepfikeep fighting. so, the moment, that commitment to peace talks or political negotiations appears to be just

minimal as we have seen it's escalated. you have had airstrikes and bullistic. down tools and stop the vehicle for taking pressure off to allow them to could not their fighting. does pressure have to come from -- is it pressure from the u.n.? audz e arabia? iran? the u.n.? >> i don't think anybody has got a huge amount of leverage over any of the sides in this conflict. i think the pressure will come from how the conflict develops on the ground. is there going to be more pressure on the hows? are they going to mace first page defeat whether that be in taiz or if ground troops push on toward sanaa or the saudis get

women's safety but experts have followed and documented the issues for much longer, warned they have long been india's secret national shame. >> across the country, rape is often blamed on social and cultural norms which encourage men to assert power over women. there is a large patriarchal mindset that is very much in operation, and which has manifest itself in many ways including sexual violence against women. >> social, culturea doctor roger midra has studied sexual offenders more than 20 years. he says a lack of accountability at all levels of indian society is a big reason why sexual violence is so prevalent. >> the sense i can get away with what i have done is something increasing in the minds of the average person an especially the offenders who know about it.

us. you are at the people's party headquarters. tell us more about the message we have been hearing from the prime minister in this election and why he says voters should stick with him. >> his message is simple. you could say at the moment according to the polls that we had five days ago because polling has been banned in the five days to the run-up of the election, the people's party are going to lose the absolute majority in the congress of deputies, lower house of parliament. they are going to have to go into a coalition. this is obviously not the best day for rahoy. the polls close in less than two hours time. it is beginning to look as though the other parties, new kids on the block, are coming through on both sides and taking a crucial number of seats in the lower house so i have been

>> so david, even if the pp does win the most number of seats in this election, it looks as though they are going to lose their majority. what could that mean for the newcomers, the emerging parties and their abilitity to sort of influence the new government? >> it is extraordinary, mariam when you look at the medamos party that says, "we can" and it's charismatic young leader, the 37-year-old former university academic pab loss iglasias, they have really come from nowhere into the national political scene. their party is less than two years old. they are riding on a new wave in spanish politics. that's the youth wave. they have certain the burden, the huge burden, the austerity cuts that spain has suffered over the last few years. you mentioned their unemployment, 47%. they want a part of the future. they have suffered in the past, and that is, i think, going to
