investigation into a global emergency sandals on al-jazeera. this is al-jazeera. hello welcome to this al-jazeera news hour live from doha i'm martin dennis coming up in the next sixty minutes iraq cancel some results from the first elections it's held since the defeat of vital. political deadlock in one of europe's biggest economies italy's prime minister designate says new possibilities of a measure that could end the stalemate plus. explosions and gunfire in a high security zone in the afghan capital also. among the darker on the west coast

of florida were caught brunch something that's turning into one of the biggest solar powered cities in the world. but first iraq's electoral commission says it's canceling the results for more than a thousand polling stations used in this month's parliamentary vote it says it has evidence of fraud voting centers both inside iraq and to citizens living abroad now many a concern that this could impact the overall result meanwhile the shia cleric look to al saud as block continues its against the asians to form a new government let's go live now to the iraqi capital baghdad our correspondent there is charles stratford so the question has to be a lot of these irregularities big enough to alter the overall result of the iraqi elections. i think we have to be very careful here it's way too early to
4:02 pm
start making calls like that but what this crisis the beginning of the crisis seemingly highlights is just how tenuous the political situation is here off the wall can only be described as a relatively successful election with very little violence we just give you a backstory on how this has happened this is as a result of a special parliamentary session that was called all monday by parliamentarians that were basically unhappy with this election results and cooled for the manual recount of certain polling stations in predominately sunni areas including diyala and bossa ladin and nineveh province they also called for a manual recount of voting stations abroad now that special session has continued today and it was only twenty eight parliamentarians that have called for. a recount of all votes right the way across the country and they want that to be
4:03 pm
supervised by the u.n. mission here and by the iraqi judiciary and simple to recognize that this was the first session sorry the first reading of a draft law that these twenty eight parliamentarians spoke about today in order for this to become will it would have to be passed by a majority plus one hundred sixty five parliament shares in iraq's parliament and then it would have to be signed off by the supreme court so it's too early to really say just where we're going to where this crisis is going to go at this stage and what kind of impact it will have only election results but it's also important to highlight the fact that this country is deeply skeptical of its politicians anyway and it's also very skeptical of i had the so-called independent election commission here that was actually appointed by parliamentarians themselves it is a worry but it's too early at this station to say that certain. the kind of
4:04 pm
response that i hack of said one member of iraq said that this kind of crisis could eventually lead to potential civil war we do know obviously that iraq has suffered years of sectarian violence and political problems so there is a fear there but it's a little too early to really emphasize the impact of this crisis so far right but when the election electoral commission actually says that it's got evidence of fraud do we have any idea as to the nature of that in the seriousness of that. well before the elections and indeed after there have been questions asked of the particular process the technology that was being used in this election as well there were questions after being asked about the electronic voting technology that they had these areas certainly that the independent election commission of highlights each of now being the election results have been scrapped in those areas there are a lot of i.d.p.'s in those areas i.d.p.'s who voted i mean the camps that we
4:05 pm
actually visit each year in the elections as well and many r.d.p. saying that they were concerned they couldn't vote electronically and their ballot boxes were taken away to other areas to be counted so there were concerns there that their votes were not going to count but in terms of the overall election result it's very it's it's it's too early to say interestingly the prime minister hyderabadi yesterday though in his weekly press conference called all of these politicians all these parliamentarians to basically a day by by what is being said so far in terms of these election results and said that he was concerned about a political vacuum if this crisis was to escalate because of course according to the constitution this parliament this government ends after the elections all in a month's time on the june june thirtieth so the prime minister very concerned that if this question does continue until continues or lets go then it could jeopardize
4:06 pm
the forming of the next government in this country all right for now charles thank you very much charles trafford our correspondent live in baghdad now to italy where the prime minister designate khalid koser that really is meeting the president said jim matter that it's an attempt to form a new government meanwhile the team populous parties that won them a seat in the recent elections they've we knew there were attempts to try to form a coalition government but the five star movement and the far right league oppose the appointment of mr causes early and. instead they are calling for new elections . well francesco galley attias head of policy center that's a political risk consultancy he says a college coach already says little chance of success. but certainly is a dead man walking literally he has absolutely no chances number wise to get the
4:07 pm
vote of confidence so it's a pretty simple math five and the league will vote. but so will the t.v. and what they found just so culturally stands absolutely no chance may well what we can have is either new or elections and the girliest we can have elections is like twenty nine but obviously. you have a lag. in the later so normally. you have sixty days that from the day in which a limit that they like so if you could do so different today maybe we can vote on the twenty ninth of july. the out the other scenario is one that where instead of this all the argument edwards they come on
4:08 pm
spec the leaders of the league and five stars and then they saw the place on sunday had. didn't take place. arriving join our correspondent he's live for us in rome so it seems as though there are three main possible scenarios that can take his really forward one being that the technocrat government does. is sworn in and continues to govern until new elections second is that the two existing parties that won the most votes get their act together get an acceptable line up to the president would appear and the third being new elections where do you think is really stands today. well i think the best plenty of speculation but nobody really knows one thing is for sure though there are many people in italy who would like to see a new election now let's just look at the option of the technocrat government you
4:09 pm
were mentioning that already has been rejected the five star movement and the league have said that they will vote against such a government in parliament they have the numbers to bring it down and let's not forget that the italy needs to pass a new budget sometime over the summer so certainly from their point of view the technocrat government is not a runner secondly fresh elections straight away well that would alarm perhaps some people in brussels as well as in other centers around europe because the latest opinion poll published on wednesday shows a ten percent possibly rai's in support for the lead the far right party and at the five star movement holding on a rounds twenty five percent so this would give a greater monday if that was translated into a new vote to those parties to come back possibly with their with harder euro skeptic policies than they made clear during the last campaign so
4:10 pm
a lot of people might be looking to some kind of compromise and even. entourage he's the new prime minister designate a saying that they're not rushing any decision any presentation of a new cabinet because there's still a possibility of a political government i.e. those other two parties coming back perhaps with a new suggestion for economy minister after paolo cell phone or their man was rejected by the president on sunday leading to this crisis because of course it matters you've already alluded to the fact that italy is an important member of the euro zone it's very important to brussels and three months after elections it's still without a government and the economy the rather policy of economic affairs in italy is already taking a hit. it certainly is and that's in fact why the president said that he had to to to reject that economy minister to make such
4:11 pm
a bold stand which he's allowed to do constitutionally but which is unprecedented because it would certainty would have hit italians in the pocket hit family savings but since then the markets have been rattled we saw on tuesday lots and lots of sales of shares in italian companies and italian banks around the world so there were there were tremors felt on stock markets slight recoveries on wednesday but people still very uncertain on the financial markets and there was a lot of talk about the euro skeptic attitude of the two parties now they're saying that it's exaggerated that they do not have any plans to withdraw from the euro currency they want european union reforms internally but just the mere fact that that possibility has been raised now and that they have possibly stronger support among the general public to push for greater changes to european union
4:12 pm
financial rules will certainly be something that governments around the continent will be looking at and and the european commission perhaps worrying about it but there they realize that it looks the optics have been extremely damaging since sunday with for example a german politician coming out and saying that the markets might show the italian people that they shouldn't vote for populist parties that's condemnation from all sides here and a slap down from the head of the european council all right now thank you very much that's nineteen barbara correspondent live in rome. now russia has rejected allegations by ukraine that it altered the killing of a russian journalist living in kiev. was shot dead in his apartment ukraine's prime minister blamed russia for the shooting police in here say the forty one year old dissident could have been targeted because of his work but it was
4:13 pm
a host for crimean tatar t.v. a senior manager at the station says the shooting was politically motivated. first the school released this is an ordered political killing of a former russian journalist who was criticizing the policy of the russian federation who was living in ukraine for the past one and a half years and he worked as a presenter on his t.v. show on crimean tatars t.v. channel a.t.r. where he used to talk about russia he wrote articles about russia i cannot think of any other reasons but the russian authorities more now from our correspondent in moscow rory chalons. to arkadi about genco have been coming in from across the russian speaking world and beyond friends and colleagues have been speaking of their shock this was a man who had fought as a russian soldier in the chechen wars then turned into a war correspondent he'd also been an activist against the putin government in two
4:14 pm
thousand and eleven two thousand and twelve he had been advocating for a fairly forceful campaign of civil disobedience but it was an online post that he made at the end of two thousand and sixteen which triggered his flight from russia he was writing about a military plane crash a plane that been traveling from russia to syria and saying that he had no sympathy really for the people who died on that plane crash because of the role that they were playing in russia's military endeavors in syria that triggered a fairly forceful state media campaign against him he felt he wasn't safe in russia anymore and left the country clearly he wasn't safe in kiev either now the russian response has been pretty textbook really they have a formula that they use whenever something takes place that they're likely to be blamed for they say that there should be an unbiased investigation a quick investigation that the incident is probably some sort of provocation and
4:15 pm
that it will be used by russia's adversaries to attack russia itself and we're seeing all of these points being hit at the moment by russian politicians and different russian state institutions the foreign ministry has spoken out and the kremlin has said that using it to attack russia or is some sort of cynical ploy they've also hit a similar note soon they were struck just after the script all poisoning in the u.k. saying that the u.k. was clearly now an unsafe place for russian former spies the kremlin is now saying that ukraine is obviously an unsafe place for russian journalists as well. government of attack the afghan interior ministry headquarters in the capital kabul police say a couple detonated at the entrance and that several attackers managed to get inside the compound security forces say they battled them for more than two hours before
4:16 pm
finally subduing a typical office mall from kabul explosions and gunfire well and for about two hours the interior ministry says there were eight assailants in all first attacker blowing himself up in a car at the main gates of the interior ministry and seven other attackers moving in and they were eventually killed by afghan security forces six police and security forces were injured in this very bold attack the interior ministry is a highly fortified of building it had just recently been moved to the outskirts of town to allow for more room and to make sure that it could be better protected so very very clearly an audacious attack on a major target here now the taliban launched its spring offensive last month and in recent days it issued a warning to afghans to stay away from ministries from police stations from anything associated with the military or the governments of both the taliban and i
4:17 pm
still have launched a number of attacks here in kabul and the taliban is on the offensive around the country as well taking over a district in the north east of the country and south haarp province today as well as launching attacks on police stations around the country as well so it's been a very very a difficult fighting season so far for the afghan military and as we get closer to elections coming up in october it's really believes that the violence will continue and possibly escalate. lots more to come on this al-jazeera news hour including a senior north korean official heads to new york ahead of a planned summit between kim jong un and donald trump. that is greece's financial aid program nears its end workers from its energy sector angry is a more revolt. and in sport a gutsy fight back from our number one simona halep at the french open. to.

the worst flare up of violence in four years between the israeli army and armed palestinian group singles or appears to be over how mass and islamic jihad say they have reached a cease fire agreement with israel there were several israeli airstrikes across the strip on tuesday islamic jihad and other factions had launched rocket and mortar attacks against israel after their fighters were killed earlier than a smith has more from gaza. it's been quiet in gaza since about four am local time when a cease fire appears to taken hold this we understand was following a message delivered from the israelis by egyptian mediators to the different palestinian factions in gaza saying that if you do not stop firing rockets and mortars into israel now then israel will retaliate in a much stronger way perhaps even targeting the leaderships of the different
4:19 pm
palestinian factions in gaza that seems to have done the trick the groups here in gaza saying while they have agreed to a cease fire what happened in the throughout the night was that because islamic jihad was the main protagonist that started firing these rockets into israeli territory then the kassam brigade hamas is armed wing felt obliged to join in there was pressure on the street for it to show its strength so this is when. more and more groups started joining in firing rockets and mortars into israel and israel continued to fire rockets into gaza hit targets in gaza both sides exchange all of this fire till four o'clock when find that message seems to have come through and the palestinian groups have taken notice. the north korean leader kim jones' right hand man is on his way to the united states kim young cho got on a plane from beijing to new york a few hours ago he's the vice chairman of north korea's ruling party and is due to
4:20 pm
hold talks with the secretary of state in the u.s. might prompt and that it's hoped will pave the way for that summit the summit between mr trump and kim in singapore next month well the u.s. state department has suggested definitely that the meeting is back on. the united states continues to actively prepare for president trump's expected summit with leader in singapore president trump will meet with prime minister shinzo abi of japan on june the seventh at the white house and the secretary pompei o looks forward to being a part of those meetings north korean vice chairman of the central committee kim yong chole is arriving in new york and will meet with secretary pompei oh later this week we also have a u.s. delegation meeting with the north korean delegation in the d.m.z. more now from our white house correspondent kimberly how could it. well the white house is confirming that when north korea's vice chair travels to new york city it
4:21 pm
is the u.s. secretary of state mike pompei o with whom he will be meeting this is significant because previous visits between the u.s. secretary of state and north korean officials happened in pyongyang this is now happening on u.s. soil an important gesture in the eyes of the united states as the two sides begin to build trust leading towards what the white house says will be an expected meeting between the north korean leader kim jong un and the u.s. president but of course the date not yet confirmed now the white house says it is continuing to actively prepare for a meeting between the two leaders in addition to delegations in asia there is also work happening here at the white house the national security adviser john bolton discussions day. really going on we're told according to the white house press secretary between not only the national security team here in the united states but also the counterparts in south korea as well as japan in addition to just trying to
4:22 pm
nail down the the meeting and whether or not it will occur other fine details that are being worked out the agenda what does denuclearization mean and can the united states offer north korea the security guarantee that the north korean leader is looking for. when our correspondent in the south korean capital seoul is andrew thomas the talks that began on sunday and continue on wednesday inside the demilitarized zone between a u.s. delegation and a north korean delegation shrouded in secrecy as you can imagine we're not getting anything from either side directly involved but an official of the president's palace here in seoul in south korea said on wednesday that those talks all proceeding well so far that's the only clue we've had that same official also said that he expects a fruitful outcome from the meeting between kim yong chill essentially kim jong un's right hand man and much pomp a.o. meeting will happen in new york later this week now separately to the u.s.
4:23 pm
north korean talks and into korean summit will be held on friday that will be between high level officials from north and south korea and essentially they'll be talking about a longer term aims and ambitions among other officials there of people from the respective transport and railroad ministries long term they would like to reestablish rail links between the two koreas but the summits need to take place first between donald trump and kim jong il and talk of a renewed rail link well that's a long way down the track. now workers in greece have gone on strike to protest against extending austerity measures as part of the bailout agreement with foreign lenders the labor unions a call for a twenty four hour general strike which would disrupt flights public transport and close schools hospitals will only have emergency staffing greece's latest bailout ends in august but was ferrety measures are set to continue for another two years
4:24 pm
at least one of the conditions of greece's bailout is that it sells some of its stake in the public electricity company but union leaders fear this will lead to the loss of hundreds of jobs john seraphina's reports now from mega luckily. make a locally introduced electricity to southern greece in one nine hundred seventy the public power corporation p p c invested hundreds of millions of dollars in a power plant based on exclusive access to cheap lignite coal but that is about to change greece's euro zone partners and creditors have ordered the corporation to share access to this abundant fuel in the name of competition the p.p.c. is being forced to sell three power stations and the lignite mines that feed them union leaders fear that will put eleven hundred jobs at risk in this town alone but . this power station contributed greatly to greece's energy security for half a century now we're expected to sell it to
4:25 pm
a privateer in the blink of an eye they're coming in to buy ready built plants and mines that's not development development is building new plants hiring people creating jobs this is a sellout there's enough coal here to run the past asian for another fifteen years that would see most of the present workforce safely into retirement but under privatisation their jobs are guaranteed for only six years so they're looking at the prospect of unemployment in middle age but they are partly the victims of their own success the p.p.c. union has fought liberalization for two decades the public power corporation built . the electricity market and its infrastructure from nothing over the past century making money wasn't the point investment in the economy was the goal but under europe's free market rules it must now divest itself of its titanic monopoly it has sold its transmission network is privatizing three profitable power stations and by the end of next year must lose half its client base high carbon dioxide emissions
4:26 pm
risk putting lignite coal out of action altogether last year this plant paid thirteen and a half million dollars in emissions fines and their costs have since nearly tripled energy experts say the real value of the sale is not in the existing operation but the thousands of hectares of land and the operating license that come with it so we may well see in a situation where no one or you all know come seen operate in ignite power plant a few years and then decides to dismantle the lignite. parts of the operation and substituted with a gas power plant or reports all take one that's not a transition workers here support renewable energy requires little labor and if this land is given over to a different use it likely won't require the skills jumps at all plus al-jazeera megalopolis police in paris are just managing the largest makeshift camp for refugees and migrants in the city the camp in the north east is next to
4:27 pm
a canal and is home to almost one and a half thousand people there will now be taken to a gymnasium this month to migrants drowned in one of the canals police have cleared out of around twenty eight thousand people from camps in the city over the path three years the trash about blair has more from paris. well there were about thousand five hundred migrants living along this canal in the north of paris and you can see behind me that cleanup operation is still ongoing there were attempts there all along both sides of this canal the conditions are really quite appalling nerdy sanitation everyone here relying on the kindness of strangers and charities for food handouts most of the migrants here were from eritrea so don and somalia now the parish council has actually been in something of a clash with the state governments over the past few months urging the government
4:28 pm
to try and do something about the situation to shelter these migrants and i think things really came to a head recently when two migrants drowned in the canal just behind me it was around six o'clock this morning that the paris police then came down to this area and decide it's clear and evacuated it was very peaceful the migrants were placed on the buses and they are being taken we are told by french authorities to shelters across the paris region where they will be hopefully identified we're told those who are eligible for asylum will be supported now that the french government has recently paused a very tough immigration law it wants to crack down it says almost so-called economic mark runs on illegal immigration and the interior minister sent out a statement this morning about this evacuation saying that those who are eligible will be helped with their asylum procedure but of course admitted in that statement to say what would happen to the others but we know that this government has really been speeding up deportations and detentions all of illegal migrants what it wants
4:29 pm
is to try and reduce the number of people coming to from leeds and reduce camps like this which have become a very visible symbol of france's immigration problem. here about the weather now it is with news of big pools particularly in the east of the united states judging from the map behind. martin this possum we've seen some really heavy rain just across that eastern half of the country a lot of that has been g. to the tropical system which has made its way up from the caribbean actually through the gulf of mexico that's sort of cools on this last legs but still produces some very heavy rain you can see that little circulation here at present and around that circulation you're dragging out that moisture the warm air plenty of moisture pushing into that eastern half of the u.s. then this area of low pressure mounts on there that is what remains of. away from here some rather interesting weather actually in arizona where it's of course bone
4:30 pm
dry paper had a nice little dust devil swirling away quite a big feature this one as you can see quite impressive this is scottsdale in arizona so no sign of any rain here the rain for may's across that eastern third of the country still half of the country lots of big downpours continuing on through wednesday places like turkey which is being affected at the moment by a system that could well see another maybe fifty seventy five millimeters of rain eventually as we go on through the next couple of days it will just eighty sway a little further a swiss now if you see north of the border some heavy rain coming through a little bit of snow just around james by up there so some very heavy rain certainly a possibility as we go on through thursday and on into friday out west the weather will start to peter out things brightening up still plenty of warmth around mati d.c. at thirty two degrees. evident thank you very much indeed still to come on this al-jazeera news a trucker's strike that has brought brazil to

commission says it's canceling the results for more than a thousand polling stations that were used in this month's parliamentary vote it says it has evidence of fraud avenging said both inside iraq and for citizens living abroad many are concerned that this could impact the final result. if it is interim prime minister designate to carlow closer than he has been holding talks with the president in an effort to form a government meanwhile the two populous path is the one the most seats in the recent. elections have new jeffords to form a coalition government of bahrain both the five star movement and the far right league oppose the appointment of mr culturally. government have attacked the afghan interior ministry headquarters in the capital kabul police say a car bomb was detonated at the entrance and then several attackers managed to get inside the compound security forces say they for trouble than two hours before

subduing the condiment. so our main story is the situation in iraq for may twelfth elections were the first since it declared victory over the islamic state of iraq and the levant eisel and the results threw up some surprises the shia cleric will try to outsiders block one the most parliamentary seats fifty four satir there is not putting himself forward as a candidate for prime minister. amir. party came second with forty seven seats he's known to have close ties with iran and headed a coalition of armed groups against eisel the incumbent his victory alliance trailed in third place before tea two seats the elections in iraq were marred by record low turnout but they were free from serious violence let us speak to ahmed rushdie who's a senior foreign policy advisor to the rocky parliament and he's joining us live from baghdad thanks for taking the time to talk to us what do you make then of the
4:35 pm
fact that more than a thousand polling stations and the voting that took place there have now been canceled and there has to be a manual recount. well actually this is supposed to be happening previously because there are so many claims before the election saying that the digital instruments that are supposed to be for the elections that are supposed to be used in the elections actually there are so many claims saying that it's not functional it can't be heard and so on so it's the responsibility of the committee itself to say we have a problem in the in those instruments now i heard saying that no they are canceling the one thousand some more than one thousand station and not saying why they are canceling those stations is it before it is it because of the claims of the instruments the digital instruments or because of fraud so many frauds happened there or what but that's what i have said all along i may actually started sorry to
4:36 pm
interrupt but that is what they have said the electoral commission has said that it's actually got evidence of fraud having been committed in these centers both inside the country as well as those for ex-pats outside of the country. and they wait for about fifteen days to say something like that it's supposed to be from the beginning because there were so many claims actually what the people that the candidates went to the to the committee saying that there are so many claims about fraud and they didn't do anything until now no i had. cancelled one thousand and twenty one. stations saying that. there are so many claims about fraud now the most important things that does all these things going to change the result especially especially in provinces like. like nato are because those three other governorates actually suffer so many from
4:37 pm
so many things specially from tourism and there are so many i.d.p.'s there and there are so many conflicts there are political conflict especially between the kurds and arabs between the kurds and turks and also in anbar because of the political conflict there between the different parties in amber and so to the question the question that you pose do you think. this number of votes i mean are not entirely sure of the number of actual votes that are caught up in this controversy but it could be as many as two percent of the entire vote is that enough to change the overall victory for the coalition that was led by mokhtar outsider. i don't think so i don't think so it won't it won't go on or on that on that road. i don't think and i don't think the problems with the changing of the results it's more than would be political actions that one did from
4:38 pm
the beginning showing themselves out of the well let's say did the top of the list and shown themselves they are on the top of the list of the whole parliament which is i don't think it's a clever way to try to manage to help coalitions with the others because the others like maliki state of law. and it looks like they are making some sort of a coalition against say you don't i'm not going to victory against. the lagarde in a way or another it's a way of saying that we are not accepting so you want to be number one in the coalition which makes a room while it will make them. stay on their own goal and will try to manage things with a with a no sir and maybe with a camera but i don't think they're going to get something from them and then maybe the prime minister just saying maybe maybe the prime minister will be not not from say your own or not not from. the lower body will be someone else all right ok i'm
4:39 pm
sure we're going to be speaking about this a lot more here at al-jazeera for now ahmed rashid thank you very much. truck drivers in brazil enter the second week of a nationwide strike over soaring fuel prices now the oil workers are threatening to join and president michel tema says he's preparing a lawsuit which would stop the strikes that have paralyzed latin america's largest economy. is live for us now in power linea and tell us where you are what's behind you and what the scene is now that we're hearing that the oil workers are threatening to draw join the truckers. well martin i'm very close to the oil refinery where the oil workers are threatening that strike which as you say the government is trying to make illegal at the same time the truck drivers some of them you can see behind me mostly slowly going back
4:40 pm
to work this slowly taking to the roads there are police and military also behind me to ensure that those who want to go back to work can do so on hindered by the very many truck drivers who are not happy with the agreement that their truck drivers association has reached with the government that in itself is only a temporary partial agreement to lower the price of diesel which they say is too high for about sixty days so this dispute is by no means over the truck driver is enjoying a great deal of support across brazil an opinion poll published today said that eighty seven percent of brazilians support the struck drivers protests not quite a strike anymore but much more of a protest around the country the gas station slowly being filled up the foodstuffs many of which much of which was lost in the last week or so again slowly reaching the whole sell markets and some kind of normality returning but as i say it's a very tense situation here alexion is due to be help us enjoy elections you know.
4:41 pm
the governments of michel tema very very unpopular has records of no approval ratings many people unhappy with the high price high prices in general especially the high prices of fuel and if there is a temporary reprieve it very much is a temporary reprieve very very nervous very very cautious reprieve and indeed you can't help thinking that the poor people of brazil is really been put through the mill haven't named recent years not only as they had this massive corruption scandal that in and envelops almost every corner of the brazilian political establishment plus they've had the last obviously a couple of leaders. as well haven't they to the corruption scandal and now they're having to deal with the fallout from a slowing economy. very much so i mean the government says that the economy is now slowly emerging from the recession the economy in itself is not the
4:42 pm
problem what many people are disillusioned with as you say the political class remove parties we have a former president i now feel to live with in prison at the moment serving a twelve year prison term his successor michelle to him is create a says jumo to self was impeached a couple of years ago michel tema there are questions being asked whether he'll even make it to the elections in october and to the end of his mandate in december such as the levels of dissolution with the government in particular the political class in general so i think i say well these protests have abated for now they are likely to continue in in sydney in the next few weeks and months regular support for for the striking truck drivers some of whom are not going back to work i mean the roads are slowly we're seeing trucks now on the roads people making those deliveries but that's really because they realize they have the support of the people on their side they don't want to inconvenience people with no fuel surprise
4:43 pm
