missing in a cave in northern thailand divers were unable to progress into the cave system off the water rose as much as fifteen centimeters an hour early on wednesday waianae is at the scene for us now and wayne any hope of finding these boys well there is mixed news really coming from the search and rescue personnel what they are saying is that they have found nothing new in terms of exactly where the boys and the coach may be and what condition they might be in since they found those and prints on the wall clothing other items left behind the boys and the coach as they entered the cave on saturday so that's the bad news the good news is that the water level has been receding there hasn't been any significant rainfall for quite a few hours now so that water level inside the cave has been falling the navy divers who are at about the three kilometer mark have not been able to progress
1:01 am
much further than that because the water level has been right up to the ceiling of the cave too dangerous they say for them to push beyond that three kilometer mock because the drop of rainfall because they've also brought in more water pumps to try and get that water out of that particular chamber the water levels being forming so there has been there is some hope that maybe their operation will be able to continue and they believe at least they hope that the boys and the coach are just beyond that three kilometer mike in a slightly more elevated section of the cave and so there. they are fairly confident that the football is in that coach will be found. well it's always difficult to say but of course everyone is holding out hope that that is exactly what the case will be there is some hope that they knew the cave system reasonably well there is evidence that some of the boys and the coach
1:02 am
you've been in here before so there is hope that when the heavy rain started after they went in on saturday and the flooding started to occur inside the cave that perhaps they had the knowledge they had the experience even though some of these boys are fairly young to move to a part of the cave that they knew would be elevated and potentially safe there is also some evidence according to messages that have been found that were exchanged between some of the boys on saturday before they went into the cave that they had some food they had some supplies like torches so perhaps that will of course help them survive through this ordeal so of course the operation continues very much a twenty four hour operation even though we're late into the night it's been a steady stream of search and rescue personnel going into the cave and coming out as those ships exchange thank you very much for the latest on that rescue operation and the progress that's being made why in have. you with al jazeera live from london much more ahead on the program amnesty international uncovers more evidence

in fact if anything the rain is further west so particularly for myanmar has become wet recently adding togs i'm sure you're aware but the monsoon is started to try and burst the head where it should be that these are only actually quite small showers of adelie and dancer rushes down given a couple of minutes the moment air quality on the whole is a little bit better in delhi itself the real heavy rain is rather for the size still mumbai science words but you can see in the forecast it's creeping evan northwards this is what it should be doing and it does these bursts and drops but again it's in these bursting stage in fact we've had some pretty useful right in occasional showers in southern pakistan as well and quite possibly because up to still be an increase in the cloud and rain potential you know none of the next desa . in this case. each want

a visit to the russian capital he's been meeting with senior figures there including the russian president vladimir putin he also had a meeting with the russian foreign minister sergey lavrov and the defense minister as well sergey shaw so you. haven't yet heard about where precisely that meeting will take place the logistics is still a little unclear we don't know when or where the meeting will occur but we know that it will be in a country the meeting is unlikely to take place either in russia or the united states but obviously a great deal to discuss discuss we have seen a deterioration in the relationship between washington and moscow recently not least over alleged russian interference in the two thousand and sixteen u.s. election which no doubt came up in bolton's meetings there in moscow. i

election but we have confirmation now that a meeting will take place between prison and trump but we don't know where or when we want to move to our other top story this hour now the leaders of south sudan's warring parties have signed a peace agreement aimed at ending the country's five years civil war under the agreement a cease fire is due to begin within seventy two hours president salva kiir in the rebel leader react machar signed the deal in the sudanese capital hard to where they've been holding talks south sudan has been in a state of civil war since two thousand and thirteen just two years after it became an independent nation a correspondent had been morgan has covered the south sudan crisis extensively and she gave us more details on what's been agreed. well first of all the touring sides have agreed to a cease fire that would be effective within seventy two hours they've also agreed to a four month period which would be followed by a transitional period that would be going on for thirty six months now let's remember that there was already

a peace agreement between presidents who work here and opposition leader rick my char which was simon aug twenty fifteen but that collapse in july to sixteen when fighting broke out between the two sides in the capital juba in july what. other regional countries were trying to do with trying to revive this peace deal that had collapsed after to an average of sixteen but with sudan came up with by bringing those touring sides together is a new transitional period for the for the word inside its new new ceasefire mechanisms and they also included troops and troops from the regional bloc egads to try to see if ceasefire is actually being implemented there are other parties involved but they have not signed an agreement as well they're not part of this agreement and that is a big big and concerning point in south sudan's conflict the conflict has gone beyond our has gone beyond the president salva kiir and now that we have more than a dozen warring factions most of them are under the umbrella called south sudan's opposition alliance they have not signed any deal between them and the government or between them and the opposition a direct machar they are basically still out there there will be more talks

probably in the future to try to include them in this agreement and this is only a framework of agreement so it's basically a guideline for further agreements to be signed between the president and the opposition and hopefully the other opposition factor factions will also be included in the future. strikes have knocked out for medical centers in rebel controlled areas of southwestern syria pro-government forces backed by russia are aiming to recapture the region around close to the border with jordan and the israeli occupied golan heights in the last twenty four hours it's believed twenty eight people have been killed in the strikes the area is meant to be part of a deescalation zone. well now to yemen where the president has demanded has the rebels withdraw from data province after talks with the united nations envoy to the country the un's martin griffiths has met a bit rubber months or hardy to try to negotiate a pause in the offensive to retake the city saudi led coalition backing hadi has been trying to capture it since earlier this month amnesty international has named

more than a dozen myanmar military personnel they say are behind war crimes against the rangar in its latest report the human rights group has documented what it called a planned and systematic campaign that involved murder rape and for starvation our diplomatic editor james bays reports. amnesty international researches say they've uncovered devastating new details about the crimes committed against these people the right as they were expelled from their homes they interviewed more than four hundred people mostly survivors and witnesses here in the refugee camps of bangladesh and inside rakhine state of myanmar and they give a clear picture of a planned and systematic military campaign in each case villages were surrounded and then attacked many were killed where i lived alongside other communities only the wrecking your homes were torched. villagers were surrounded by the me and my military soldiers swept through they opened fire on men women and children as they

were running away and they systematically burned down their wishes and what this shows is that this was not the work of rogue soldiers or units involved units across a large area that this was a pattern carried out and therefore suggests that it was a pattern carried out pursuant to a common plan the human rights group is naming thirteen commanders and officers who believes are responsible for war crimes one of those generals is now being sacked by the commander in chief's office but it's not believed to be linked to these allegations and amnesty want all thirteen sent to the international criminal court why was that was unleashed during twenty seventeen clearance operations while i'm president to anybody who is gay or reach out and made absolutely no mistake the crimes against humanity we are talking about rape. torture or starvation in these are land mines and targeted large scale the utility is the norm from the us to
