want what happened yesterday is that a group of vandals into the airport or a group of infiltrators with the protesters into the airport and they smashed the computers and the x. ray scanners that are used for security inspections and they smash the counters and a lot of the important technical equipment and. protesters say there's no reason why they should be living in poverty in an oil rich region. this is not a protest it's a revolution by the youth of not just the iraqi people have had enough nobody should tell you that this protest is linked to any political party or anyone controlling or giving instructions these are the people of not just youth and tribal men. critics of iraq's government say economic problems have accumulated over many years and the government has done little to make life of its people easier and to add to growing grievances regional proxy wars may be playing a role in the deteriorating living conditions of many ordinary iraqis. iran is

playing a major role in that because suse has been sanctioned by by the united states put a corner economy cali they are cutting all the races supplies and water supplies to iraq which were normally going going smoothly and this is also creating a problem for iraq i think view the audience want to tell the americans that if you create the problems to us somewhere else we've got combat you were in southern iraq including match af protesters are increasingly fed up with waiting for things to get better that's frustration that two months after elections there's still no new government that can bring about change barbara and al jazeera. ten thousand people have been protesting against donald trump in scotland as the u.s. president spends a weekend playing golf at his luxury resort is stopover in tambourine caused

the face of the earth so who wants to live here so it's americans we are your friends that donal's not coming here as a personal holiday is coming here to represent the american people so to snub him because of all of the american people because he's a democratically elected i was here in the mt stromlo demonstration on friday there are certainly a few thousand in the numbers say one thing is michelle and president chavez being a was acting was sold to the ultra right in this country. but the crowd here wasn't just meeting in praise of the u.s. president there was also support for the founder of the english defense league stephen yaxley lennon also known as tommy robinson currently in jail for contempt of court a man who has organized violent protests against muslim immigrants and of whom one of trump's diplomats lobbied the british ambassador in washington for his release

the poster boy of the english far right turned into a rallying cry for their cause to take pride in the visit of a president they believe affirms their reality with or without facts sunny diagonal al-jazeera london. and he barbara has more now on the demonstrations in edinburgh. well they're calling this a carnival of resistance and one of the ways that the thousands of protesters gathered in this park in edinburgh a trying to register their opposition to donald trump is through schumer and that joy and balloon over there showing the u.s. president as a baby in a nappy featured in the london demonstrations and it's now made its way up to scotland to those they weren't allowed to fly over the temporary go free zone where donald trump is spending the weekend well away from the protest this stage it was a flight over the scottish parliament as well that's where they say opposition march set off on saturday but now that it's here it's getting lots of attention and
4:19 am
in fact along the march through there have been plenty of homemade banners that people have brought along using humor to or to ridicule the u.s. president but also to remind does it for the titians that there are issues that they feel very strongly about teaching children is not ok separating children from their fear and so on a caregiver's is no cake any which way you put it and detaining them separately or with the parents is no case we don't make a sound if we share the bodies from the street how will america notably our son with them half of magma and half of them actually did least not the way that they meet now that the world stands with them how the toughest challenge in our. club. on sunday donald trump travels on to helsinki for a summit on monday with the russian president vladimir putin there are protests already being organized there but these are demonstrators in scotland hope that

australia it's looking generally fine but you have got a fair amount of cloud pushing in proper sealed shower developing later on heavy rain across much of new zealand during the course of sunday is likely the clear way quite smartly during monday so brighter weather following on behind terminal two by there for christchurch fourteen degrees once the sun comes out so let's head up into northeastern parts of asia now here obviously we're looking for dry conditions across japan after all the terrible flooding that we've had in the weather conditions here are looking dry very hot and humid have to say there is some heavy rain across the colorado sapporo site having a fairly wet day elsewhere fine conditions across the korean peninsula beijing dry on sunday but another frontal system will push into in the course of monday bringing some heavy rain temperatures than expected reach thirty three.

4:23 am
a government after the prime minister decided to step down following days of violent protests. and anti-government demonstrations of continued across iraq southern provinces for a sixth day as anger grows over high unemployment and a lack of basic services so i want to bring you more now on one of our top stories the situation in haiti we're joined by. john doe he is monitoring developments for us in the capital port au prince and so we know that the on rest has been continuing has the resignation of the prime minister done anything to pacify the demonstrators. quite frankly it's a little too early to tell on that matter and i mean there were protests in the streets of port au prince on saturday pressuring the parliament to vote no confidence on the prime minister but ultimately that wasn't needed because during
4:24 am
the debate on the prime minister's future in the middle of that he decided to take the podium address the parliamentarians and that's when he said that he was going to resign himself so that really is the big question going forward probably in the coming days perhaps weeks is will that be enough for the protesters will that be enough also for lawmakers as well that were disgruntled with the prime minister he's now no longer the prime minister anymore but we do know that a lot of the protesters were. also pushing for the president jovan elmo east's to step down as well that has not happened so that's going to be the big question will this be enough will this call him tensions here will this get haiti moving in the right direction still too early to tell but i can say that the first step according to most lawmakers and most of the protesters was to get a new prime minister and now it looks like they will have that opportunity now that now that. has stepped down how long is that process likely to take.
4:25 am
yeah there were the president posed to address the nation later saturday night will be watching that closely i don't know what he's going to say but clearly he's going to address the steps moving forward normally the process is to get a new prime minister it would be a decision made by the president and the two leaders of parliament you would think that would take days maybe weeks quite frankly i don't know it will get much better sense of that. when we hear from the president later on saturday night but the bottom line to remember all this is right now the country of haiti was is without any sort of functioning government because not only did the prime minister resign but that meant all of his cabinet members resigned with him as well the entire government went when he went so that's going to be a challenge for this country to overcome but listen it was in deep political crisis
4:26 am
haiti and i would say it's still probably facing some crisis here when you don't have a functioning government but i think the hope is for the president at least from a lot of lawmakers and perhaps many haitians that this is now the first step maybe to exit the crisis and get a new prime minister of course we'll see how that plays out on the streets with the people that really matter and that's the haitian people and get their opinions in the coming coming days on this and i realize it's not just about this political crisis is that we we spoke about the prospect of fuel price hikes a proposal that was never actually implemented haiti has been suffering for years now from terrible policy what on the challenges facing the continent going forward . yeah you're absolutely right i mean the fuel hike increase that was proposed by the now former prime minister that was just what threw people over the edge they were upset they were upset about unemployment they were upset about corruption they
4:27 am
were upset about a lack of jobs these are the problems and this is really what the haitians are worried about this is a country that faces many many challenges and we can't understate or overstate it enough i mean two thousand and ten to over two hundred thousand people died in that terrible earthquake the country is still trying to recover from that economically and otherwise two thousand and sixteen a hurricane wiped out nearly the entire southern half of the country these are big big challenges and i think a lot of the haitians are just quite frankly saying listen we want jobs we want to better economy but you talk to everyone as well and they say we want to in the government corruption and that's why you saw a lot of people not only protesting for the removal of the prime minister which is now happened but also also saying that they want perhaps a change in the presidency as well president joelle maurice he has shown no signs of stepping down he's a democratically elected president of this country now it's up to him to select
4:28 am
partially up to him to select a new prime minister it's going to be very interesting to see if haitians did now to give the president kind of a second chance so to speak or if now they focus their. anger towards the president or not thank you very much with all the latest from haiti cambridge elizondo. well we go to nicaragua now where at least one student has been killed in the capital off the pro-government forces surrounded young activists the group of refuge in a church which then came on the scene some of the group glycine the ordeal as government forces fired upon them the students want president daniel ortega to step down marianna sanchez has more from managua. today and finally were able to leave the compound the church actually where they had to taken refuge since last night the speech that more than an hour. because of the party known and the pope who represented to. conversations and negotiations with gunmen that they were able

to leave very early and have been at this church last night they have been talking to the gunmen they have been asking them for the release of the students and they were unsuccessful they were they had a lot of. difficulties to allow. an ambulance to go in to get some of the wounded it's only a few came out but the students have been on the receiving end of the gunfight through all the night and this morning when the pope's representative and the cardinal went back in to be able to release them there were several students wounded and two unfortunately died there because they did not get medical help now the students have been taken to the cathedral and the war or the premises of
