they gave it to a local to dispose of the saw who was the local give his name they want to go and check to see who this person was and where he dumped the body or body parts because you'll remember that one of the so-called hit team that arrived here in istanbul to kill jamal while he was carrying a bone saw used to dismember to cut up bodies and also they're going to concentrate on the well at the consul general residence the turks still want to investigate that they've been there before but they didn't have a team to go down into the well no they've got permission to do that so they'll try and get in there in the next couple of days i suspect that from the tone of the president that the saudis are going to come here with answers that the will accept or indeed want to hear it's clear that the turks know a lot more than the public at this point what went on in the consulate when jamal khashoggi was killed and they may well present not to the prosecutor but they will

also make the point again that they believe that this happened on turkish soil so therefore they should come here and face trial here what the saudis will argue is that strictly speaking under the vienna conventions the consulate is so deep and anything that happens there comes under their remit and they don't seem to be ready to back down so this is going to be a long running diplomatic dispute between turkey and saudi arabia on this one country blinks first on my breast in istanbul allan thank you. in the news hour. the man. challenger and presidential election. polls will tell you why. i'm. indonesia where it's been a month since an earthquake and tsunami left more than two thousand people dead in some areas beginning to get back to normal it's clear much work is still to be done . and. something special

11:12 am
after the earthquake and tsunami struck so then it will fall to individuals really to mark the day as they choose fit but even then given that so much devastation has happened here there are still so many people missing that there is perhaps a sense that for most people they are still processing what happened in this disaster to worry about commemorating the four week and of a story. in the ashes of disaster some can find value even a month on in the ruins there's no shortage of scrap that can provide income which for so many people was taken away by the earthquake and tsunami. the indonesian government emergency response phase has come to an end meaning the search for bodies has finished which many here believe was done too soon. and his wife were working on the beach when the tsunami struck their three year old son is still missing. but i've looked them refugee camps i went all around the mountains i've been everywhere and i can't find them i've looked for almost

a month. it's stalled there may be thousands of people still unaccounted for but the government said it had no choice but to call off the search really believe if you continue your question it will be counterproductive because you know when you get the body also it will be a health problem over health is one of the main concerns for survivors with more than two hundred thousand displaced many living in camps with poor sanitation and approaching rainy season will increase the risk of outbreaks of dengue fever or malaria. slightly more study shelters are being built on the outskirts of palu when many of those left homeless will need to stay for a long time in some of the affected areas life is back to normal markets are flourishing once again in others little has changed since the earthquake with the remains of buildings left to wait for the wrecking machines people affected by this disaster will of course need ongoing support and rehabilitating palu and the
11:14 am
surrounding areas properly will be a slow process the concern is that indonesia is a disaster prone country meaning that attention and resources may soon be diverted elsewhere if that happens plans for a better safer city may be put to the side in favor of a quick rebuild but for so many survivors there's no contemplating the future just yet it's still about trying to comprehend what happens. i still don't have a job i don't know what kind of work i'm still confused i want to keep looking for my son but i don't know where else to go or we haven't gone to stay in a refugee camp yet because i'm still focusing on finding my son. in central sulawesi a lingering sense of shock and despair is mixed with the beginning of recovery from a distance the bay and city a calm now but survivors will never forget the destruction unleashed a month ago and those they lost. so still so much work to be done still so

many people in need including hundreds of thousands of children affected by this disaster with me now to talk more about this is. from unicef thank you for joining us what are you seeing out there what are the needs of the children specifically caught up in this disaster yes it's one month after the disaster and life for many children in central soloway see is still far from normal but it's a start. we know that there are three hundred seventy five thousand children in need of medical assistance clean water basic hygiene and sanitation and education and protection i've met with dozens of kids who say that they're eager to go back to school to meet their friends to see whether their teachers are safe but they still want to keep close to their family because of course the aftershocks are still occurring health seems to be coming becoming a major concern how worried are you about the rainy season which is coming very fast it's a big concern we know that with the extensive mapping that we've
11:16 am
done of the urban piping system here in part there's been extensive damage so obviously with the water and sort of conditions that are coming we will see the risk of disease is increasing and we're working with the provincial government to make sure that basic hygiene and clean water for more than one hundred fifty thousand people will be met in the coming weeks and if we look back over this disaster four weeks on now hard to believe looking at some of the devastation around that it spills like it almost just happened yesterday in some places so much talk about the government's response that seemed to be fairly slow why was that why did it take them so long to get assistance to so many people well obviously there are enormous logistical challenges the roads the damage the bridge have collapse and coordination was was hampered we know that. many many of the officials have had their family members last i met with one education officials whose wife died but he

still showed up for work so you know they are trying very very hard to get back the system on track of course there's room for improvement in the speed of the delivery of the supplies and services and coordination but we're working well with the government particular with the minister of education the ministry of social affairs and obviously the community members that i spoke to they're satisfied with the speed of you know the schools getting back to normal and the services that they're provided of course there are many other things that can also be improved and briefly you are able to get the supplies and things that you would like to add to the communities that need the most right now unicef was the first u.n. agency to deliver ninety four metric tons of emergency lifesaving supplies we were given the air bridge from two which is the neighboring island to here in central sulawesi and we managed to get all those supplies in and in the

coming days you know we'll be working with the government to make sure that more supplies are coming in and also the important training for the social workers for their education officials and the teachers as well. from unicef thank you very much for joining us so as you heard there are still so many people in need including children so much devastation in some areas as i mentioned the disaster has just happened happened so it is certainly a long road ahead for the affected areas in central sulawesi live for us and paula thank you weigh. still ahead on al-jazeera to prime minister no parliament any deepening political crisis ensure long. have a splitting of sudan and south sudan as many people without a formal identity and coming up and support action from qualifying for the next can cram for in as one team dominates out all the details.

president should sack the prime minister in this way because it came as a total surprise it was in fact something that happened like in the dark of the night which is not the part of the democracy process a democratic process should be one in which people know what's going on where there is notice as to what the government wants to do what the president wants to do that did not happen in this case what is at the root of the tension between them. whether they come from two different parties these two parties have traditionally been right words in this country so they have two different philosophies as well as the two individuals the president the prime minister have two different personalities. that i think that's that the root of this of this problem but they came together in trying to fifteen or they came from two different parties to contest to challenge the very person whom the president now has appointed as the

prime minister they contest came together to contest because there was a growing sense of that was growing nationalism and there was growing sort of a national security state and human rights were in jeopardy at that time so they came together to create a new government committed to good governance and to reconciliation what are the implications of shutting down parliament i think it's very serious because it is one thing to sack the prime minister there is a question as to whether the constitutional received years before the fog and whether the law was forwarded that is one thing but secondly it is absolutely important that the person who is the prime minister should be able to prove his majority in parliament now by shutting down parliament for three weeks we don't know who has the majority the prime minister the former prime minister had the majority that was he won a no confidence vote in april of this year by
11:28 am
a very comfortable margin now he's not being given the opportunity to prove his majority in parliament for three weeks and in three weeks we believe there will be a lot of sort of deals trying to be struck where where there will be a chance to make it what is the way out of this the way out of this is for parliament to be reconvene immediately not to be prorogued not to be suspended for three weeks that is the way forward. ok we'll have to say thank you so much for joining us from colombo we appreciate it thank you. and a temporary standoff with thousands of central american asylum seekers on their way to the u.s. human rights commission convince police to abandon a blockade on a role highway at the u.n. estimates seven thousand refugees and migrants are often several central american countries several weeks ago towards the united states playing poverty and
