short for camouflage. goods i'm sure it's seen as your beer the moment you know you're making that. you have a lot of money i know that. well we've kind of been called a lot of things i was. for me and i'm a day i'm paying for my own dress i'm paying for my own things. should feel happier but i. it was a big purchase. i guess would anybody have to drop that much money if you don't have that much money to just to experiment. it dampens the mood a little bit. the price was more than we expected and i said what i want that ring i earned more money than jose. and i came up and pay the other half of the ring out of my own personal account.

a restaurant and my days off i go to restaurants that i might be interested in and i have a cup of coffee and i get friendly with the waitress and ask questions. coming up empty on her job search continues to pound the pavement. i have never been in here. you know places i've worked i've never said banish lets you know there's a lot of black bean cakes fresh carry the celery change your choose. read a book to read a guy i don't know. how long have you worked there i've been here for what what do you think makes this place so busy on the weekends and during the mornings this is more of a southerly in use so we have a lot of people from the so who through her use. unlikely amount of brits but the people are pretty nice to work for yes. i'm just being nosy i know it's
5:13 am
something we have no maybe from it's outside of there now this is what you wear even on the weekends yes that's awesome and you don't force the favorite place to do your job. but this would be like right up my alley you know where it's laid back but you're still making money and still. usually can tell if it's a decent place to work by how the service area thing lot of time to service or talking to the gas but not a lot of conversation amongst the employees that always signals that it's a stressful place to work if the staff was friendly and they talk to each other and you can tell there's not a lot of time should. i bet by six thirty seven o'clock this place because they didn't happen i mean it's just going to snow but your manual that ari you don't mind doing it can get you a smattering but now what do you have for snacks everything chocolate the one i'm

going to have a strong platform. i don't know if. you can handle this right now i can get a ride i just played a big dog side up i can't handle the chocolate. the regular minimum wage for all the other industries is eight dollars and i think sixty five cents or whatever it is but in the restaurant industry it's four dollars and eighty five cents that is my minimum wage. it's not macho i mean i don't know how anybody can live on twenty thousand a year but that's your. you know anywhere between twenty and thirty thousand is what a restaurant worker is making. but
5:15 am
i'm always trying to make more money i'm not afraid to try anything. but. my girlfriend owns an insurance company and she's going to teach me to make phone calls and see how i do in sales because she thinks i have the perfect personality. structure about that. how do you worry over i mean a comes here and few evenings a week hoping it will pay off in commissions someday i have absolutely no experience in insurance quotes i mean she has to teach me how to open up the computer she's got the comfortable see i'm right what's going on is the same and the same thing. but she's going to give me a chance and that's more than most people have done for me and then you can put in
5:16 am
your year long and. a. fast and forget the marriage. i'm going from bartending and construction and restaurants to an office job i'm sitting in. looking around and think of wow can get pretty boring but if it's going to pay my bills and it will be easier on my body. to be willing to do it. you know are always impress me those chicks that can go like the sun is hot but they can't write motorcycle songs. i'd like to think that i'm ready for some to know but. i don't know i don't know if it's my thing. insurance.

i think and put the security of the american people first i do believe they're going to do the democrat senate minority leader chuck schumer also welcome the claimant but had a different interpretation of it it reopens the government without preconditions and gives democrats and republicans an opportunity to discuss border security without holding hundreds of thousands of american workers hostage hopefully it means a lesson has been learned shutting down government over a policy difference is self-defeating it accomplishes nothing but pain and suffering for the country and the american people that's a lesson we all must bear in mind when this next continuing resolution expires and that will make it success more likely well the agreement comes as some eight hundred thousand government workers misstep a second month

a paycheck because of the shutdown and after several major airports in the united states were hit by delays as a direct result of the shutdown the federal aviation administration says departures from new york la guardia philadelphia newark were all delayed many airports have been calling in sick we'll get more on the fallout from the shutdown in a moment with gable elizondo who is standing by for us there in kansas city first though let's speak to alan fischer in washington about this new shutdown dale but i suppose the problem is that it's temporary allan what is the likelihood of some sort of agreement to a compromise on the border wall taking shape in the next three weeks. well let's put this into practical and political practically it means the government reopens means that federal workers who haven't had their paychecks over the last month there's been two of them they will get their money it means that all the services that would normally be in place suddenly are in place that families who get food

stamps will get food stamps that the f.b.i. will get paid that the people who are on security at airports will get paid that air traffic controllers will get paid so that's all good things politically this is a defeat for the president there's absolutely no doubt this he could have had this deal thirty six days ago this was offered to him but he turned it down because people on the right said if there's no money for a border war why on earth are you signing this you remember he had a meeting with chuck schumer the leader of the democrats in the senate and nancy pelosi the democratic speaker of the house said are you going to give me money for my wall they said no and he walked out they said you reopen the government and then we discuss what you want to do on the border and he said no deal and now today he's doing that so this is a defeat what happens over the next three weeks will donald trump believes there is bipartisan support for his border wall chuck schumer speaking on the floor of

congress not that long ago said the democrats want to help with border security we want to talk about more border agents we want to talk about immigration judges we want to talk about high tech drawings what they're not keen on talking about is a wall for there to be a shared victory both sides have got to get something and donald trump didn't get anything out of this except the prospect of more talks and remember those right wing commentators are told you about they criticized them three weeks ago that really precipitated this border this shutdown while they again are on twitter and on other places saying donald trump is and i quote a wimp he has just back don't. given nancy pelosi a win and we have got nothing out of this except very angry workers who are upset president donald trump and of course we know how closely trump watches the commentary from those right wingers to does that mean that a national emergency really could be declared by donald trump if congressional

leaders don't reach some sort of agreement in the coming weeks. well of course that was his bottom line maria you know absolutely right he said at the end of his speech and there was three parts of don't own speech one where he was conciliatory one when it was donald trump's greatest hits on the border when he talked about women being kidnapped and and tied up and then he said if i don't get what i want i have the the way to do it and that is to declare a national emergency a couple of problems with that first of all there is every possibility that that could be challenged in the courts and the second problem with that is there are many many republicans who simply don't want to do that because they think that that creates a president and the next time there is a democratic president then they could declare a national emergency over climate change gun control something like that what this does is move everything down in the road for three weeks i knew would top that given how angry people have been unsure and how angry they are the politicians of both sites will be able to sit round the table come up with

a deal and get something that is agreeable to republicans the democrats and the big if president don't trump all right thank you very much allan fisher in washington well tens of thousands of workers who handle tax forms were ordered back to the office for the start of the tax season there are reports that at least fourteen thousand did not show up there but others on the is in kansas city missouri west six thousand types work as a bull with out pay and gabe i know you're watching that speech with some unpaid work has what did they make of this. yeah what they had to say or their reaction was very telling and i'll get to that in one second but i just first want to tell you where i'm at right now i'm outside of a federal government office here in kansas city and while trump announced that the shutdown is over we see no signs of that here the parking lot is still empty the doors are locked and shut it just gives you an idea on how it's going to take time

to restart the government after it's been shut down for so long it's. not just going to happen with the snap of a finger no as you did mention we did watch trump's announcement with a few of federal workers that work for the internal revenue service the i.r.s. as it's called they have a huge field office here in kansas city they were watching very intently because they had so much at stake and as soon as trump was done speaking i asked one of the ladies there i said and she hasn't been paid for over a month now i said well what's your reaction and she had two words and i'll quote her she said i'm angry and disappointed and i said why she said for multiple reasons but primarily that nobody is celebrating here because they feel in the words of this lady i spoke to that they are trapped by a wall because this is only going to be three weeks back on the job and then they have so much uncertainty about what will happen after that that's one reason
5:58 am
they're upset about this and the second reason is that trump said they hope to get the back pay to people as soon as possible she said that's not good enough we have been paid for to pay cycles now we need money now these are people that are struggling to pay their mortgage struggling to pay for food it's very serious out here and again i spoke to one other worker who's worked the i.r.s. for thirty years right after trump spoke i asked him what was his reaction he said i'm not happy primarily he said because this shutdown could happen again in summary that is the big deal here and that's a big message that we've heard from federal workers they're a little bit happier content that at least they're going back to work but that is so much overshadowed by the uncertainty of what's going to happen three weeks from now because they're smart folks out here and they know if there's no agreement that's reached in washington the government could be shut down once again thank you very much from kansas city missouri gabriel and. only out of a story out of the u.s.

washington. tell us more about this indictment what is stone alleged to have done well according to the special counsel office robert muller who by the way since stone just said it was politically motivated mohler is a lifetime republican the same as the president. but he weighed the night and basically says that stone was acting as a conduit between wiki leaks which we know to basically dump thousands of hacked d.n.c. democratic e-mails including those from the clinton campaign manager who was trump's rival he was talking to wiki leaks they say he was talking to julian assange its founder and also talking to officials in the trump campaign about when and what wiki leaks head now he's not charged with collusion but he basically is being charged with when he was asked about this to the house intelligence committee they he said basically there's nothing i've had no communication no text messages no e-mails nothing so they're saying he obstructed that investigation five counts of lying to members.
