a million dollars and then these companies can then create a piece of software that once installed that phone which can be quite easy to do will then give whoever is using the software access to the person's private photos emails videos essentially anything on that and if they're doing this to jeff bezos and i emphasize on if because the saudis of course have denied being involved in any of this or if they're doing it to. basis are they doing it to other people to other countries how widespread a tactic is this among countries this tactic is become the norm so we have saudi doing a lot but we know for example that the united arab emirates of use this time similar technologies against human rights activists like up in months or you know the bahamian government back in two thousand and twelve were using european spy ware in fish it's hoggett activists not just living in behind but living in the u.k. so we know that even smaller countries countries that do not have as much power or clout to saudi arabia have been using these types of technologies to target
