freedom and change. and 33 percent will be for the other horses. have not signed up to the declaration of the forces of change and freedom and collaboration with the sovereign council and the forces of freedom and change we we promise our great people that their agreement would be completed will be comprehensive will live up to the expectations of our great people. within less than $24.00 hours 5 god willing so that our masses of our people would celebrate the victory. of the people and the army in order to achieve the ambitions they object of of the great revolution and thank you very much.
1:40 am
at the start. we would like to start by praying for the martyrs of yesterday the protesters and those from the armed forces and the difficult night that the sudanese people had to endure which made abundantly clear that there are forces counter-revolutionary forces of course. these forces are not would not be pleased with any progress on the negotiation so that would eventually have a transitional period that could manage the a complete democratic transition in sudan would also. the negotiations the day before yesterday and yesterday we had discussed fundamental issues and we reached agreements which we think are important for example the structures of government and the various levels the 3 levels

a council for sovereignty which would be made up by agreement with the military council and the declaration of freedom and change and the cabinet of menses also an agreement between the 2 councils and a legislative council which 67 percent would be for the forces of freedom and change and 33 percent would be by collaboration between the council sovereign council and the forces for freedom and change also regarding what we have agreed upon yesterday the military council had announced that there will be. a committee to investigate the attack on protesters. also we also agreed to form a joint committee to confront any attempts to target the sudanese people out there and the protest areas and also to.
1:42 am
a joint committee to. to remain a updated on the work on the field what happened yesterday. had been given adequate attention. in order to prevent that from happening again. because sudanese blood is precious blood any drop of sudanese blood had to be defended and not to be spilled in any battle and protest squares which we all ensure will remain. pride for the sudanese people for the peacefulness of its survey lucian and its relentless pursuit of democracy peace and progress.
1:43 am
rights you're watching a live press conference from the sudanese capital khartoum the military the joint transitional council the military council and members of the opposition coalition they talked about the formation of a legislative council 300 members with 67 percent being from the opposition coalition and 33 percent made up of other forces who are yet to sign up to the coalition they talked about the details of the 6 people who were killed last night in the violence on the streets they said that negotiations yesterday. reached agreement on the structure of the new transitional cabinet and they also talked about a committee to investigate the deaths of protesters yesterday so live press conference there coming into us from the sudanese capital khartoum.
1:44 am
now protesters are demanding an independent investigation into the deaths of at least 4 people during violence on monday the military is denying claims that security forces used live fire to disperse crowds near barricades and they're blaming what they call infiltrators for the deaths even when reports from carter. a show of defiance by protesters in sudan new roadblocks being set up old ones being reinforced and more people arriving to join the mass it's an outside the army headquarters in her room that's despite what demonstrators say were members of the military units known as the rapid support forces using live ammunition resulting in the deaths of several demonstrators on monday. to be nice we will either live or die here we're asking for complete freedom our brothers who died yesterday aren't better than us our mothers are bereaved we also have brothers stay here whatever happened. tensions are on the rise as protesters accuse the military of
1:45 am
attempting to disperse their state and they have been camping outside the army headquarters demanding the military council which overthrew the country's 30 year president obama in bashir to immediately hand over power to a civilian government the military council has denied it was involved in monday night's violence it's blamed what it called infiltrators for the shooting but the opposition coalition which is in talks with the council to form a transitional government has rejected the military's version of. benazir we want the army to show us evidence that they were responsible because the injured people say that those who shot at them were in uniform and were driving armored vehicles they deny these allegations so the blame goes straight to the military council the military council has to do an investigation and tell us what happened we cannot accept their explanation that they were outsiders sowing discontent. wednesday is set as the deadline for the 2 sides to reach a deal on forming a transitional government but the protesters who are part of the city say those
1:46 am
talks must be halted until those responsible for monday's filings are punished. because of the hold why are they negotiating there is nothing called negotiations inside they negotiate with us and here they kill us so what are we negotiating. albert she is regime still exists until this moment many here see if the old regime is not completely out of the picture there of olution is far from over and the protesters are. helping it build pressure on the military council part with their failure to deal with the people on the streets off topic and even if a deal is reached it's unlikely that the city no come to an end he will morgan are just there are lots of. people morgan joins us live now from the sudanese capital of khartoum but we're listening to that press conference from a member of the military council and i believe a member from the opposition coalition what were the salient points from that very
1:47 am
brief press conference then it lasted literally just a couple of minutes. yes indeed aaron but they did focus on major issues that was facing the 2 sides the opposition coalition and the transitional military council now what they have said is that they have agreed on how long the transitional period should be something that the 2 sides have been arguing about since the military council ousted former president ahmed bashir and took power now they have agreed to have a 3 year transition period that's the average of what both sides wanted the opposition coalition wanted a 4 year transitional period while the transitional military council wanted it to your transitional period so that they have agreed on the middle ground and 3 years is what it's going to be for the time being they've also said that the 1st 6 months of that 3 year transition period will be dedicated to ending words around the country including the western region of dark for the southern regions of southern kordofan so these are issues that they will be tackling during the 1st 6 months they've also agreed on how much representation will be in the legislative assembly
1:48 am
there is the we've heard from the military council that the opposition coalition will be getting 67 percent representation in the transitional legislative assembly and the other parties will be getting 33 percent they've also said that the opposition coalition will be deciding who are the members of the executive cabinet will be including the prime minister so it seems that most of the important issues that was standing between the 2 sides the issues of contention has been resolved one main issue remains to be resolved daryn and that is who will be heading the transitional period in the executive sovereign in the sovereign cabinet that's something they will be talking about and they said that within the next $24.00 hours a transitional government will be agreed upon and formed you are going to say i mean hell significant is this announcement and what does it actually mean on the ground for ordinary sudanese people that. what we've been speaking to protest this morning especially after monday night's events when protesters said that
1:49 am
a faction of the army the rapid support for says open fire isn't injured and killed protesters. we've spoken to activists and protesters and asked them if a deal is reached those that mean the end of the city which is now in its 2nd month in front of the army headquarters and they said that that is not going to mean the end of the state and they're going to wait until that transitional government is actually formed until all institutions are in place and until they are sure and convince that those interest institutions are independent that they can do their jobs without interference and influence from the transitional council and the military council as well so a lot of things to be done it doesn't look like the city will come to an end the protesters have been here for more than 5 weeks there and it doesn't look like even if a deal is signed within the next $24.00 hours they will not be convinced that it's time to go home and that their revolution is finally over and. i thought i heard you in the press conference one of the transitional council members say that a committee to investigate the deaths of protesters yesterday would be formed just remind us of the events of yesterday that led up to this decision. well
1:50 am
yesterday evening our protesters say that a faction of the army known as the rapid support forces tried to move their barricades and when they refused to let that happen the members of the rapid support forces opened fire is now on the sudanese doctors committee is reporting that at least 5 people have been killed and that more than 200 have been injured including 10 people who are in critical conditions we've heard from the opposition early in the afternoon saying that they want an independent investigation open into what happened now that's something they both sides seem to have agreed upon and that this independent investigation will be open it's not clear who is going to be heading that investigation and how quickly it's expected to produce results and if those who are accused of being behind the shooting and the killing of protesters will be tried for basically killing of those who are tested and if they will be brought to court that's something we are yet to see but for the time being it seems that one of the demands of the opposition and the protesters on the ground to have
1:51 am
accountability for the deaths of the people of the protesters over on monday over my monday night's events will be served here just a final thought from you i mean how much pressure has been on the military to get to this point to make this decision tonight. well it was not easy to get to this decision by the military council let's not forget that over the past 48 hours alone we've seen the protests is escalating and putting more pressure on both the opposition coalition and the military council to reach a deal the 2 sides had suspended talks for about 10 days before they resumed on monday and basically protesters have been saying that they know that the only pressure card that the opposition coalition has to force the military council to hand over power to a civilian government now we've seen them setting up more barricades setting up more roadblocks organizing most trikes more people coming from various states around the country to join the sit in and till they see that transitional government happen so a lot of pressure there and has been put on both sides to work out their

differences to iron out their differences and come together to form that government that civilians have been asking for since president bashir is ousting on the 11th of april. in the sudanese capital khartoum he. let's move on to some other news now because russia's president has told the u.s. secretary of state that he senses that donald trump wants to repair relations announcement follows talks between but in a putin on the u.s. secretary of state in sochi on tuesday the kremlin says it's repaired to set a date for the next meeting between the russian president and donald trump earlier my compared to all the russian foreign minister sergei lavrov that america does not want a war with iran but he also said must be prevented from threatening its neighbors steadfast reports from such a. very rare but very important meetings here in sochi between mike and the russian foreign minister and after that with vladimir putin basically the leaders now want to improve the relationship which has been very bad between the united states and russia and one of the reasons that they can do this is because the

report has basically officially cleared the coalition allegations that were made between campaign and the russian authorities put in said that that was an objective investigation and basically now it's sort of clears the way to have an order changing situation between the 2 nations as he described it but then there's of course all these differences that the 2 superpowers still have they have different opinions on iran on afghanistan on syria and also on venezuela on iran had hoped the russian foreign minister that could give him more guarantees on. the military operation in the gov region which couldn't give the united states want russia to stop supporting nicolas maduro in venezuela that also something that. couldn't guarantee but then there were some baby steps some small

a legit sabotage attacks on oil vessels at the port in the united arab emirates like other countries in the region iran was quick to condemn the incident demand an investigation and offer support on tuesday a carefully worded statement gave way to pointing fingers during talks in india iran's foreign minister left little room for doubt about who to consider is responsible. we discussed regional issues and the policies of extremists inside the us administration and in the region who are trying to impose their policies we also discussed concerns we have about suspicious. that are happening in the region that we had earlier predicted that they would carry out such measures. in the region. zarif comments followed a report attributed to an unnamed member of an american military team sent to investigate the alleged explosions and. the initial u.s.

assessment seems to say iran had a hand in the incident but no senior u.s. officials immediately backed up the report senior iranian parliamentarian say there still isn't enough information about what happened about. what happened at the pole to pajero is still vague unclear but it seems there are some in the region that want to drag trump into a war and we're dealing with the issue with a strong mind towards our historic responsibilities i think the talk about explosions in just a hasty scenario and it suffers many shortcomings whoever stands behind this is pushing for a failed plan after a closed session of parliament on tuesday morning another senior m.p. said israel may also be behind the alleged attack as a sort of false flag operation to turn up the heat on iran. neither side has offered any evidence of their claims and this is all happening as iran and the united states exchanged strong words but prepared for

a fight. earlier this month president hassan rouhani announced iran's plans to roll back cooperation of the 2050 nuclear deal as well as look at restarting enrichment activity at various nuclear sites his move came after the latest round of u.s. sanctions that targeted iranian nuclear activity allowed as part of the nuclear agreement itself to her on continues to call out to regional capitals to say that the united states is an outsider and that it is up to the countries in the middle east to maintain their own security and stability together while iran's neighbors seem reluctant to have more conflict in the region the path forward is still clear and tensions are still hot specially with more american military presence in the region the same for us robbie al-jazeera. all right well that's it for me down jordan from i'll be back in a moment with more of the day's news on the latest with ongoing developments in. the formation of the legislative council.

most tribal police departments are understaffed and under resourced another factor is that tribes don't have jurisdiction over non-native americans for all crimes there but a lot of concerns that the federal agencies don't respond that they don't take these crimes seriously a lack of evidence is the main reason federal officials give for declining to prosecute crimes on reservations that shouldn't be the end of the discussion. there should be then a ok let's see what went wrong in this case why the is no evidence or why the evidence isn't good enough and make sure that that's not happening yet. rewind returns with updates on the best of out is here is documentary. the moving story of 2 young tuchman girls in afghanistan. at last able to get an education up to be a suppressive taliban occupation. but what has become of their treats.
