exist it is vital that the different groups in society are able to express their views their opinions in order to allow the democratic process and eventually voters to cast their vote talking about the democratic process are you concerned that the attempt to kind of shut down the flow of information from outside the army headquarters where the protesters are gathering is perhaps a very negative sign on how authorities may be planning to now deal with the protesters camped out there exercising their democratic right you were talking about indeed indeed where we were in about that and we're even more who worried about the fact that to t.m. c.s.l. may do lose credibility that it needs in order to serve as a as a as a credible as a trust a leader in the coming months so this is a very negative sign and we are about to issue a call on the g.m.'s feet to reverse this decision immediately because it is

u.a.e. leaders who will no doubt be taking some solace in the fact that there are countries that still support her on that aren't following the saudi narrative of iran being behind the tensions in the region but at the same time it is international codes day to day the day that iranians and people around the world rally in support of palestinian statehood in support of the palestinian people and to that end iranian leaders have been saying that what saudi arabia should be doing instead of preaching divisive policies that only help the israeli agenda by dividing leaders of the muslim world and making israel able to continue to oppress the palestinian people iranian leaders have been saying especially ahead of the oh i see meeting coming up in the next few hours that saudi arabia should be pushing in support of the palestinian cause instead of trying to divide the leaders of islamic countries are the same for the moment many thanks let's go live now to baghdad bob matheson

is in the iraqi capital rub iraq not at all happy with painting iran as the bogeyman is a threat to the region why. well it's really not a surprise that iraq would take this position because iraq has had years of good trading and cultural and religious relations with neighboring iran they're both shia dominated countries but also they are iran has been making a tremendous amount of investment in iraq as well they are ronnie in excuse me the iranian foreign minister mohamad as that if i was here just a few days ago and at that time the iraqi foreign minister mohammad al hakim said that iraq was opposed to one sided action by the united states and it was a rash it was opposed to u.s. sanctions on iran so that message fairly clear as far as where it comes to iraq standing with regard to iran but of course iraq also needs troops and support from

the united states and other foreign countries when we're dealing with the ongoing threat from my soul so once again iraq is finding itself in the middle of this very tense situation between the united states and its allies and iran is iraq it's all concerned that that position being at all this with saudi arabia and the u.s. could damage its relations with them both. i think that central to its concern i mean the principal concern is actually the fact that if there is any conflict between the united states and its allies and iran that iraq will be caught in the middle of it but certainly it is also concerned that there is going to be an enormous amount of pressure put on the on iraq in order to try to be encouraged to move away from one side or the other let me give you an example and the only part of april saudi arabia has done deals with iraq and put some of those deals included like $1000000000.00 worth of development loans to iraq and also

promised to give $500000000.00 in aid to be able to help iraq's exports it also promised to build for free 100000 seater sports stadium just outside baghdad these are all significant investments and there are there are other countries around the world who are making similar types of investment and those countries are also from the gulf region as well and iraq is going to be very concerned that unless it is seen to make a move away from iran that leverage could be amused by using the economic pressures to actually try to force it to move away from it so the agencies to run it really does not want to be in this position of having to take sides in this tension rob many thanks rob madison live in baghdad well g.c.c. and arab leaders in saudi arabia are now turning their attention to the organization of islamic cooperation with its 57 member countries spread over 4 continents the allies see is the 2nd largest organization after the united nations

it was established 16 years ago to end its words safeguard and protect the interests of the muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace but critics say it's failed to achieve its goals because of divisions among some of its members. joining me now in the studio sultan baraka who is the director of the doha institute's center of a conflict and humanitarian studies always good to have you with us salt on saudi arabia wanted to project a united front against iran at this these summits it hasn't got that has it no not really. no one disagrees with saudi arabia that iran has over the years been interfering in regional affairs iran has been causing trouble. it is very obviously like syria iraq is they sure is really whether there is enough substance to convince the world the muslim countries on that up can trees.
