and of the military because in the end of the day egypt is a military state the military controls everything from the economy to culture to media to obviously the security apparatus we'll wait and see but the fear here is that if there isn't a clear support network or at least some sort of solidarity some significant political power within egypt as well as the international community you could very well see these you know thousands of protesters wiped off either picked up and put into jail or as we saw in the another massacre that took place in egypt a very worrying prospect tomorrow as always great to have the onset i have to thank you. it is a nonresident fellow at tire institute for middle east policy and joins us now live from boston so as you're watching from over there what do you make of what's happening right now on the streets of cairo.
9:01 am
it's definitely a unique and remarkable moment with respect to the fact that we haven't seen large . not large but widespread political protests in egypt in several years this is taking place in a number of cities it is a challenge to monitor the situation accurately because unfortunately there are a lot of fake videos that have also been circulating that is from 2013 protests that have been posted by people purporting to be protests today but as we try to work to verify the images it is clear that there are a number of protests taking place in a number of different provinces throughout egypt the size of the protests are still fairly small and a number of them are being dispersed but it still shows remarkable courage and while the numbers may not be very dramatic. you have to multiply those numbers by the extraordinary risk being taken by those who are being brave enough to go to the streets under such trying circumstances and in the in an atmosphere that's filled
9:02 am
with violent repression right and that's our correspondent was telling us there seems to be some kind of cracks within the government that could allow this kind of protests to to foment particularly because previously any kind of dissent was immediately shut down so people are seeing people on the streets just send some kind of message it seems what is that what are you saying and what is your observation of why people are able to express their dissent on the streets like this. well respectfully i think your correspondence a little premature in that assumption we are seeing pretty quick dispersal of protests in a number of places. and we have previous examples where people were allowed to protest for a little while before they were dispersed depending on the location the circumstances so it's not yet clear that this represents any sort of rift within the regime it may just be a strategy to minimize creating
9:03 am
a backlash that would cause this to have more momentum than it already does. it remains to be seen and i think it's too early to reach a conclusion on that to be honest with you but you know the fact that they are in tahrir square that was a particular area an area where the government has been very careful not to bring attention to particularly because that was the focal point for ground 0 of the revolution in 2011 which ousted the government or they were that dictator hosni mubarak so the fact that they're there. i would say to a certain extent send out some kind of message or. give give some kind of an illusion that there is something more going on here. no i wouldn't say that i mean the protesting to here was dispersed probably quicker than any other one that's taken place today from what we've seen so if anything that would be the opposite of what you're suggesting that the symbolism of protests and done
9:04 am
here certainly will resonate with a lot of people i think people seeing people break that barrier of fear and participate in political protest and call for sisi to be removed and call pulling down the sign with his face on it these are all symbolic things that could give other people inspiration to participate in future protests that is a real possibility. but the presence of protesters very briefly into harir will who are met with tear gassed and at least 30 of them a bit arrested according to my last suggest no i don't think that there's any indication that they were left to protest very long there at all so i wouldn't i wouldn't assume what your correspondents just right from your point of view what what state is egypt's government in you know since he has been a key is to excessive corruption people are clearly unhappy he is now at the u.n. general assembly give us a give us a bigger picture of what is happening politically an agent. sure
9:05 am
undoubtedly popularity has been in decline for for the past few years particularly as the economic situation started to deteriorate substantially in 2016 the drastic rise in inflation and collapse in people's purchasing power led to a drop in standards of living across society and that has severely damaged his popularity and it's something that i think they're increasingly aware of it's reflected in the fact that the military has recently been more more proactive about trying to deny rumors about owning for example a pharmaceutical chain has been trying to kind of distance itself from the grandiose. narrative surrounding its economic prizes at the same time the fact that sisi would go to the trouble of responding to a video from a not terribly famous actor who is put himself in exile in spain suggests a serious concern about how these accusations of corruption could resonate in
9:06 am
a public that already sees the regime as having spent a lot of money on things supporting their privileges while at the same time imposing very punishing austerity on everyday egyptians through the reduction of subsidies and the i.m.f. bailout program with respect to structural adjustment requirements and so the popularity of the government undoubtedly is old and when you increasingly hear egyptians. voice criticism not only of the president but of the whole participation of the military and how it's eating up the economy and kind of taking everything it wants for itself and that threatens the kind of almost teflon like status that the military has historically had that no matter how unpopular a president or a prime minister or government might become there was still a really unique veneration of the armed forces but as they've been stirred themselves in a much more direct and public way in government and in business. more
9:07 am
egyptians have kind of come to see them as specifically responsible for the hardship that they're enduring. thank you very much timothy called us great to speak to you thank you for your time. the pentagon has just announced it will send hundreds of extra troops to saudi arabia and the united arab emirates to help defend its allies this comes after last weekend's attack on saudi oil facilities the u.s. says this deployment comes after requests from the 2 countries washington has blamed iran for last weekend's attacks but tehran has denied any involvement to prevent further escalation saudi arabia requested international support to help protect the kingdom's critical infrastructure the united arab emirates has also requested assistance and response to the caymans request the president has approved
9:08 am
the deployment of u.s. forces which will be defensive in nature and primarily focused on air and missile defense all we have to correspondents following the story kimberly house is at the white house we'll hear from her in just a minute but 1st let's go to pat tical again who was at that had to get a briefing patty let me start by asking you what more was said during that briefing . well you know they really didn't give very many specifics they just said that they had met with u.s. president donald trump on friday afternoon he said go ahead send these defensive weapon systems to saudi arabia and the united arab emirates they said both countries had requested help we heard from the secretary of defense he said that they believe that these are raining weapons and that they did not take off in yemen then he was asked are you going to make that information public you're going to unclassified he said the u.s. investigators are still trying to piece together what happened so those 2 comments don't seem so that's
9:09 am
a sara lee were together and they were very low on specifics they said they were going to take the weekend figure out exactly what they wanted to send give it to the secretary of defense and make sure he and the president signed off on it but they did say they seem to indicate that we're talking about patriot missile batteries these are systems that are supposed to be able to shoot down incoming drones or missiles and when they asked about how many troops is that is that going to be a major deployment meaning thousands they said no it's not going to be 1000 so we can be talking about dozens we could be talking about $100.00 or so maybe a little bit more than that but i think one of the bigger questions for the pentagon is they've been selling saudi arabia a lot of this equipment over a lot of years the question is why didn't it work and so now they're going to send in new equipment and they said as for the details of what and who and when well that's going to have to wait until after the weekend not long ago in fact very recently president had played down any prospect of conflict with iran and now we're hearing that more troops are being sent to the region can you can you put this in
9:10 am
context for us. well the the troops that are sent to the region that are in saudi arabia that are in bahrain that are in qatar that's not anywhere close to what the u.s. military would need or plan on having if there was going to be any sort of military conflict now when we started to see the u.s. try to insert this maximum pressure campaign which they like to call what they're doing in iran we did see them send an aircraft carrier group we saw them send bombers so they've been trying to send the message that the u.s. can respond but they've so far the president has basically said he wants to send a message and try and force them back to the table but he also wants to avoid 'd a military conflict let's not forget he's coming up on an election it's looking like it's going be incredibly tight his whole strategy is he needs his base he promised his base not another war in the middle east but fewer wars he said he would bring the troops home and spend that money here in the united states so the president trying to send the message that he doesn't want conflict he wants to talk
9:11 am
the iranians said drop the same sions and we'll talk he has not been willing to do that so city another message was sanctions and with these defensive missile systems that the u.s. is prepared to respond but just not in a full scale conflict practical hand in washington for us thank you and also in washington we can cross over to our white house correspondent kimberly how it can really say president trump is now hosting a state dinner for the australian prime minister do we expect him to address this latest a point deployment. we expect him to address the press it's not clear if you'll discuss this deployment but what is interesting is this is a real dial back from the president's comments just a few hours ago when he spoke in the oval office with the australian prime minister where he indicated that his desire was to really keep a 2016 campaign promise to withdraw from foreign wars talking about easing troop numbers in afghanistan and syria so many people were pretty surprised by the
9:12 am
announcement that there would now be an increase in the number sent to saudi arabia this is certainly something that the media here at the white house is watching very carefully the president expected to speak in about in the next few moments is when he's actually scheduled to speak so we're watching very carefully but what we do know from the president is that he had said up to this point with regard to iran and the fact that the united states blames iran for these attacks inside saudi arabia we should point out without offering any evidence that this is in the eyes of the u.s. president showing great restraint that there has not been sort of a retaliatory strike but this certainly is a major escalation given the fact that just a few hours ago the president was talking in the context of increased financial sanctions now we see these troop numbers certainly a surprise to many in washington thank you very much kimberly how could the weight of. well the u.s.
9:13 am
has also impose new sanctions on iran and these are in response to those attacks on the saudi all facilities they now include the iranian central bank president says he prefers financial punishment to military action the american targets also include the national development fund of iran and at the mud pars company that is that iranian company the u.s. officials say is used to conceal financial transfers for iranian military purchases . we have just sanctioned the arabian national bank that is their central banking system and it's going to be. at the highest level of sanctions we are continuing the maximum pressure campaign this is the last remaining source of funds so both the central bank of iran and israel well as the national development fund which is their sovereign wealth fund will be cut off from our banking system so this will mean no more funds going to the r.g.c. were to fund terror and this is on top of our oil sanctions and our financial
9:14 am
institutions sanctions but a very major factor is what we do these are the highest sanctions ever imposed on a country never done it to this level. well those measures came just hours after the head of yemen's who the rebels proposed an end to facilities with saudi arabia he said his fighters would stop targeting saudi arabia with drones and of their weapons but only if we had agreed to seize its own fire although who these are fighting the saudi amorality backed forces in yemen and they've claimed responsibility for the attacks on saudi arabia's oil facilities a week ago. we reserve the right to respond if they fail to reciprocate positively to this initiative the continuation of this war will not benefit any side on the contrary it could lead to dangerous developments which we do not wish to take players we say this knowing that the ones who would suffer more are the enemy. now who say in our book he is a pro who is the journalist he spoke to algis there earlier and said if saudi
9:15 am
arabia doesn't abide by the seas far more attacks are likely to come from the who these. after the huge attack on saudi. finally in which has actually stopped their 5700000 bottle of the output of saudi that's why that attack has like sent a strong message to saudi arabia that we can't respond toward your war against yemen but i believe that if the saudi did not accept this ceasefire i believe that our more attack to come that's why they believe this is fired today just to show the international community the saudi that doesn't want to do to stop the war against them and they said i believe more bigot are going to come if this ceasefire collapsed from saudi arabia. ahmed alattar has more from the eminent capital sanna . this is more than one occasion the whole of these have called

allegheny what you've got is there a let me take you through our top stories this hour protests have broken out across egypt thousands are demanding that president of the fact that he resign over corruption allegations are also a rally in cairo's historic tahrir square that's an area that shot into prominence during the revolution and 2011. the pentagon has announced it will send hundreds of extra troops to saudi arabia and the u.a.e. and response to the weeks and attacks on saudi all facilities washington is blamed iran for last week's attacks although yemen's who the rebels said they were behind it. and the rebels have offered to stop time. getting saudi arabian territory so long as the kingdom also holds its fire but they want that we will suffer the greatest damage if the work continues. it is our desire as
9:21 am
middle east analyst and joins us here in our studios thank you very much again for coming on 7 good to see you again so let's talk about what's happening on the ground let's let's take a bigger picture look at it is sort of sense of who these protesters are and what this movement is about in the sense that there doesn't seem to be a clear leader and it seems to be organic you quite right i mean there's no leader that actually. on the ground there's no leader in the field leading the masses and this is quite. outstanding. to see such movement without a leader. also the fact that this this time i mean in 2011 during the revolution. a lot of parties involved political parties and. some political movements involved in what happened to stop and listen this time it's partisan so it's not
9:22 am
politicized there's no i do all the g.'s ideologies involved just simple people out. to the streets to fight for their own life. so these are among the things that i can. tell it tries this movement so far. you know if it's going to continue to be like this. if. you know when you when you treat is caution though which which i expect to see. maybe tomorrow or day after tomorrow maximum. that is in case. the military doesn't. crackdown on the streets so i believe. what happened so far from now on that note as you're saying crackdown we're hearing
9:23 am
reports that one person has died so we're hearing reports that one person has already died in these protests how and this is according to eyewitnesses but how concerned are you off that crackdown arfon impending crackdown that could particularly snuff out this very very young well have many reasons to be concerned you know about a lot of things it's not only about the crackdown the potential crackdown on peaceful demonstrators but also pretty much concern about the the the internal conflict with them the the military council. because obviously there is a rift with them the council so i'm pretty much concerned about the potential struggle within the military council and i hope that if if if it's true that this is such with to exist within the the council i hope that it doesn't trickle down to the whole army so i think we got
9:24 am
a lot of lot of things that we should be concerned about. when it comes to the top of the knowledge so it seems that these protesters are very much putting themselves at risk you know given given what you said given the kind of crackdowns we've seen previously what do you think is driving them to do this that makes them so desperate to be on the streets despite the you know the risks and the potential hazards that they're facing all you just sense of yourself. their district. the feel that the thing else to lose. we fight for their lives so. that's the reason ok and what what is behind this desperation if you had to point out a few factors that are really pushing people on the streets what would they. say that even if you had to outline a few issues that are really pushing people to this point of desperation what would they be is that the corruption is of the economy what is it that is making them
9:25 am
come out here and risk their entire well being you cannot single out one factor from you know from the college i mean corruption resolves into hunger for the people i mean corruption for the people means hunger means starvation means losing the roof. over them i mean because they are losing they are losing everything because they don't have enough to eat literally. i mean we see a lot of people egyptians we haven't seen that. during each of history you know motions of people you know sitting in stores all over the country you know looking for something to eat in the dumpster so. these are pretty much grave reasons for the public to take the risk and take out to the streets and and risk the lives they list in the last something that is worth their own lives. as
9:26 am
always great to have you on set with me thank you chris. now millions across the globe have taken part in the biggest protests against climate change on record young people have taken their leave their skipping classes and work to demand urgent action a week long campaign aims to step up the pressure on world leaders are gathering in new york for the united nations general assembly and i hear word 1st reports on this global movement. this is a movement led by children by college students backed by many parents millions of people coming together to protest when they would normally be at school instead they're calling on governments around the world to take action on climate change i think that it's bad to miss one school and have a few checks you know how many chinese at school people need to realize the promise is something we need. many people are protesting here. but want to be part of this
9:27 am
growing movement called on government to do more to tackle climate change. and this truly is a phenomenon across the pacific islands many of which are already experiencing the impact of rising sea levels a pledge to fight climate change there were big protests in australia where several 100000 people skip school college or work to take part while in thailand hundreds of young people death outside the environment ministry demanding action. in indonesia the police know tom while protesters rallied along a main road. and in india the message was no
9:28 am
no less passionate it would be personally getting diluted had the climate is close to change in mindset of our government of the people. this protest in south africa was no less noisy. this groundswell of global thanks to passion for action and change from young people has surprised some in governments many have been inspired by the teenager gretta thornburg who last year started skipping school on fridays to protest outside the swedish parliament. in just a few days world leaders will meet in new york at the united nations conference on climate change we must hope but we we must also be prepared for. that nothing comes out of it and then we need to continue no matter what because giving up cannot be an option that is fissions world leaders make in new york will affect the future of these young people far more than themselves it is the youth

emboldened by a desire for change and he would al-jazeera in london well thousands also turned out in mexico city to demand action is there. here in mexico city's historic district where thousands of people are marching down the street toward the presidential palace it's also dirty with the millions of others in cities all around the world who have called for this climate strike in fact if there's one thing in common that we're seeing in this rally as well as the ones in the other parts of the world are that it's led by young people the people that we spoke to tell us that they decided not to go to school today not to go to college many other people decided not to go to work to participate in this climate strike mexico city of course me being a city notorious for its air pollution thousands get ill every year related to 2 respiratory illnesses from the notoriously poor air quality and of course there

in the program when we get it but for now let's move on to some other news. german government has announced a multi-billion dollar plan to try to curb emissions among the measures are increasing incentives for buying electric cars and big money into whale networks mccain has this report from berlin. here in the german capital many tens of thousands of people of all generations all ages have marched through the streets carrying their placards chanting slogans saying they demand action to combat climate change the point here is that this country has had real commitment issues in so far as the political elite is concerned about achieving targets that governments have signed up to that's something that the green movement here very very keen to stress how important it was the politicians from. the government of anger of america how climate cabinet is she called it has agreed what they call

down to this the british government says it's happy for meats from that how to pass on checks through the irish border but it's not a parallel that piece of farming equipment over there and if that's appears ridiculously picky it's also the case of the british government doesn't seem to realise that that would be completely unacceptable it's about the irish governments and the european union the agriculture minister turned up to take questions there wasn't a single british journalist there there's almost no attempt to understand the irish position in terms of the volume of trade from the republican ordinarily in the region 700000000 and something slightly less coming from the south and the granular detail of that is you know. 10 percent of the pool is processed from the public 400000 sheep consoled for his daughter a could give you a myriad of statistics so the continuation of the economy is really important to us and those politicians who represent voters around the border insist that if the

even the so-called rich people are suffering because as i said the sudden rise in interest rates has caused this problem the sudden devaluation of the rupee has caused this problem and. i have also added to the problem. a problem with corruption and. and drug tried to. meet people that already. have gone. and. we are hopeless now the prices have gone to an extreme that even by running the shop i can't cope with my utilities and my family expenses even though i was not able to pay the fees of my son and took him off from school to work with me at the shop to save the salary of the worker i don't know what to do next. there is no work for me and i am sitting on the roadside since this morning and this is my daily routine on but i can't get any job to earn money

air force base houses aliens our correspondent. has more. there was a loosely coordinated effort to so-called storm the base last night at 3 am local time in the middle of the night and there were people who got out of their tents here at base camp and went down the chew lane highway to the front gate of area 51 that's it though some 50 kilometers from where we are now but by design this is a place that's very well guarded very remote and so the access is narrow down and not many people got through or they had to wait in traffic so there was a crowd there however they did not as a group tried to storm the base there was one person who was arrested according to a police officer who i spoke with now while the crowd here is really taking this as a fun and entertaining festival life atmosphere the police and the military are certainly taking it seriously in fact they've set up

banned from reporting inside egypt and charlotte dallas has this report. from cairo to alexandria 2 men saw anger and resentment filled egypt streets people protested against prison abdel fattah el-sisi calling for him to resign over corruption allegations in a reassigns they flooded into cairo's tahrir square before police dispersed the crowd arresting some the square was made famous in 2011 during the egyptian revolution that toppled former president hosni mubarak the fact that people have been able to actually enter to harry square is in itself an incredible achievement for the people in order to try to protest against sisi so it seems that there is this what we're going to growing this tension is growing and it seems that momentum is increasing at a minute by minute egyptians are frustrated about corruption but it was a businessman in spain that storks the fire calling for the protests mohamed ali started posting videos on you tube and facebook and early september he leaked

sissie and his military wasted millions of dollars of public money on palaces and hotels he said he knew because he built them i wonder why spend a huge amount of money building these houses i never understood his decision the problem was that since these wife didn't want to sleep in the same home when mubarak's wife stayed taken. to a new label i built 5 villas for theses a palace for the president and a military camp in cairo. the slap the clip the one week ago speaking at a youth summit in cairo president says he did not directly address the accusations of corruption against him and his army but he did say this. how much do you think a day of operations in sinai costs we don't talk about this then we see someone daring to come out and defame the army someone who wants to shock you panic you someone who dares to try to disparage the great value of our great army when says

the little military coup of president mohammed morsi and 2013 he outlawed all unauthorized protests a government crackdown followed with tens of thousands of egyptians arrested including journalists like al-jazeera is own mahmoud hussein who is now being imprisoned more than $1000.00. egyptian government crushed any protest ruthlessly sort of like a people are prepared to take to the streets tonight i think speaks to the enormous frustration the enormous anger that ordinary egyptians to work. from an egyptian whistleblower posting you tube videos the internet has galvanized egyptians frustrations and now move to the streets bellus out his ear. there is correspondent joins me now here in the studio he's covered egypt extensively over the years so firstly when i ask you what you know of what's

happening on the ground there so we saw late on friday evening these protests taking place after one of the biggest football fixtures in the in the in the league after these calls were made by for mommy contractor. actor for people to take to the streets but what we didn't expect was the scope and scale across the nation right so not just in cairo not just in the field even across several places in maggies and so forth within cairo and alexandria. 2nd largest city sewers. to me off toward the miata. which was the birthplace of the 6 movements which gave birth to the germany 25th revolution later on so the scale of this is what's making the past 810 hours or so so significant not since how the fatah has sisi came to power through the military coup and since he essentially made himself president through

these kind of. elections that were held there was never a time where public dissent was manifested in such a wide scale and naturally organic way as we have seen there have been some protests here and there maybe the largest took place when there was the controversy over selling the 2 islands to saudi arabia a few years ago but even that was limited to cairo and very small ones in alexandria was never a massive scale like this we never saw pollsters of our protests you see being ripped to the ground satellites stamped on these is something which is very significant because like i say not only have we not seen it but the fact that this happened without a clear organization behind it's no political body because there was no political parties left in egypt he's done with all of them they've either been locked up or imprisoned or exiled like my mother but other your leaders of the brotherhood and others this is very organic from the people and it is a clear sign of just how much resentment there is in

a section of egyptian society we're not sure how much that section is but if we're looking at the geographical landscape but it's taking place everywhere if you look at the online engagement number one trending hashtags in egypt very much and t.c.c. in their. terminologies then it's very clear that there is significant opposition and they've just had enough ok so what we also do know is the fact that part of the reason why we haven't seen such protests is because the governments clearly crack down on them and made sure that these kinds of movements did ferment so people. on the streets at great risk to themselves and their well being what is it that's driving them to go out on the streets there were allegations of corruption but is that enough to for them to be risking their even their lives possibly no i mean it is a cocktail of things that have just proven may be unbearable at least for people to stay quiet about whether it's going to be unbearable enough for them to continue this we'll wait and see so we can text we're not saying that this is suddenly

a revolution overnight but this is definitely a momentous expression of dissent why because as you mentioned there was the corruption that's been highlighted over the past couple of years weeks but everybody was corrupt maybe not to the extent that it's come out over the past couple weeks but this is no secret but this is being coupled with authority measures that are unprecedented so slashing of. some of the subsidies where there was fuel bread and other things as well as increase in prices of living transportation gas basic foods. true that the lack of freedom or personal space without the lack of public services so whether new housing projects whether it's the health service and so forth and all the while while this has been going on for the vast majority of egyptians they do life is either been unemployment or not living check to check living day to day just trying to figure out how to feed themselves when they switch on the t.v. because it's controlled entirely by the military it's almost as if it's something

to drive them crazy because they see a different reality being portrayed to them they get these talks show hosts telling them everything's fine c.z. is making egypt amazing there's going to be this new administrative capital there is going to be all these billions of dollars that are suddenly going to come out when the value of the pound is the lowest it's ever been unemployment is the highest it's ever been the education system is the worst it has ever been all of these are there is bound to have an impact now we're seeing it manifested through the anger that's being expressed in the streets where the government in what we're seeing even though they have used tear gas and arrested. people and there are unconfirmed reports of maybe one person being killed it's still relatively reserved how they responded compared to the fact that this is a government that has committed the worst humanitarian. crime in egypt modern history according to human rights watch as manifested in the obama set for whether they're being reserved because they want people just to get this off their chest and then move on or whether because there is some sort of splits within the security establishment or whether it's because he knows he's going to the u.n.

general assembly in a couple of days he doesn't want to have to respond to a conditions of another massacre we're not quite sure but definitely it's a very significant might say than a very interesting moment for egypt thank you very much jim thank you again great to have you on set. now in other news the vatican has just announced it will send hundreds of extra troops to saudi arabia and the united arab emirates to help defend its allies this comes after last weekend's attack on saudi oil facilities the u.s.'s this deployment comes after requests from the 2 countries or edgington has blamed iran for last weekend's attacks but terran has denied any involvement to prevent further escalation saudi arabia requested international support to help protect the kingdom's critical infrastructure the united arab emirates has also requested assistance and response to the kingdom's request the president has approved the deployment of u.s. forces which will be defensive in nature and primarily focused on air and missile

defense. can take a hand was at the briefing at the pentagon and she has more from washington d.c. . they really didn't give very many specifics they just said that they had met with u.s. president donald trump on friday afternoon he said go ahead send these defensive weapon systems to saudi arabia and the united arab emirates they said both countries had requested help we heard from the secretary of defense he said that they believe that these are remaining weapons and that they did not take off in yemen then he was asked are you going to make that information public are you going to unclassified he said the u.s. investigators are still trying to piece together what happened so those 2 comments don't seem to the sara lee worked together they were very low on specifics they said they were going to take the weekend figure out exactly what they wanted to say and give it to the secretary of defense and make sure he and the president signed off on it but they did say they seem to indicate that we're talking about patriot

missile batteries these are systems that are supposed to be able to shoot down incoming drones or missiles and when they asked about how many troops is that is that going to be a major deployment meaning thousands they said no it's not going to be 1000 so we can be talking about dozens we could be talking about $100.00 or so maybe a little bit more than that but i think one of the bigger questions for the pentagon is they've been selling saudi arabia a lot of this equipment over a lot of years the question is why didn't it work and so now they're going to sudden new equipment they said as for the details of what and who and when well that's going to have to wait until after the weekend. the u.s. has also impose new sanctions on iran these are in response to those attacks on the saudi oil facilities they include the iranian central bank president donald trump says he prefers financial punishment military action the american targets also include the national development fund of iran and at the moment they parse company that's an iranian company u.s. officials say is used to conceal.
