to deal with the most intense election campaigns the us system we need you're right it's the 6th of. january on al jazeera. 'd al-jazeera. hello i'm barbara sara this is the al-jazeera news hour live from london thank you for joining us coming up in the next 60 minutes accused of inciting violence growing calls for president trying to be removed from office after the storming of the u.s. capitol. president has committed an unspeakable assault on our nation and our people it was a security breach that should not have happened the washington d.c.

mayor demands an investigation into what went wrong. in other news a growing coronavirus caseload forces a new state of emergency in japan. i'm german ash with sports has n.b.a. basketball teams react with dismay to the scenes in washington d.c. with several players a taking the need to protest against the attack on the capitol and the decision not to charge a police officer who shot a black man in wisconsin. aides 21 g.m.t. that's 4 pm in washington d.c. at this time 24 hours ago an angry violent mob had stormed the u.s. capitol forcing their way past police and penetrate the heart of u.s. democracy they were driven by the false belief claim perpetuated by donald trump that the november presidential elect. had been stolen by the democrats by the end

of 4 people were dead 15 police officers are in hospital and one is in a critical condition it's a very different scene there on thursday calm is restored business as much as it can be as usual but former trump allies have resigned that he's been banned by facebook and instagram at least until he leaves office there are calls for the vice president to invoke the 25th amendment the constitutional clause that allows a president to be removed from office articles of impeachment have also been circulated well so far more than 60 people have been arrested on charges ranging from violating a curfew to carrying unlicensed or prohibited firearms that number is expected to rise while there is growing scrutiny over the capitol police response the house speaker says the president is to blame the gleeful desecration of the u.s. capitol which is the temple of america of our american democracy and the violence
12:03 am
targeting congress our hearts that will forever stay in our nation's history instigated by the president of the united states that's why it's such a thing in combing for this edition to act president has committed an unspeakable assault on our nation and our people i joined the senate democratic leader and calling on the banks president to remove this president by immediately invoking the 25th amendment. if the vice president or cabinet do not act the congress may be prepared to move forward with impeachment. it's going to get released on the who joins us live now from washington d.c. we were hearing there from nancy pelosi a democrat so perhaps on surprising that she is saying that the president should be removed from office but what about not just republicans but the members of his administration what kind of support has he lost with yesterday's events.
12:04 am
well it appears that there are a lot of people within the trumpet ministration at least those that are left in there that are very concerned about the events that took place yesterday and also the president's reaction to those events i mean it's not just what happened it is how the president reacted to that which was basically according to reports he's been despondent and pretty much hold himself up in the white house and is not taking much sort of personal responsibility for him rallying up those those rioters that eventually went into the to the capital now they're essentially 3 things that could happen here as you mentioned number one could be the invoking of the 25th amendment where that would entail vice president mike pence then getting the majority of cabinet members to agree that trump needs to be removed as president of the united states but it's not that quite that easy because several of
12:05 am
the cabinet ministers that trump has are acting cabinet ministers and it's unclear if they would have the authority to sign on to this so it's while some republicans are calling for this 25th amendment to be invoked it's certainly not quite as easy and it really rests on the lap of mike pence if he wants to try to pursue this if he doesn't and palosi the speaker of the house as we heard there said that she will go forward with articles of impeachment however that's difficult as well because that would take both the lower house of congress and the senate all gathering in to vote upon that and they are all on recess right now until after the inauguration on january 20th so it would in tail palosi calling everybody back to washington and it's unclear if that could happen how quickly that could possibly happen the 3rd scenario of course is the president himself just resigning there's no indication that that is imminent or even that he's even considering that nevertheless though
12:06 am
these are certainly some very dramatic. scenarios that are now being at least discussed by high level officials all over washington d.c. now and he's being abandoned by facebook instagram and twitter certainly for the forseeable future so we haven't heard from him that way do we know what are you isn't what he's doing today no quite frankly i mean we think that he's in the white house so we know that much but beyond that his schedule is just not much quite frankly now he was scheduled to give a. presidential medal of freedom award to a few golfers. a ceremonial thing that presidents do this was behind closed doors it was not open to the press essential what we're hearing from from sources in this being reported in the u.s. media is that he is despondent the president is pretty much not taking phone calls
12:07 am
according to reports he's not talking to many of his aides very often and reports that he also banned the vice president mike pence chief of staff from even coming in to the white house grounds so this is a president that is clearly sort of holed up in the white house and that is led to a lot of the worry within democrats and republicans of what he could possibly do in his last 13 days in office give realities on the with the latest there from washington d.c. thank you well speaking of that worry by both democrats and republicans one of the president's closest allies republican senator lindsey graham says wednesday's on the rest has tarnished trump's record in office but come close to the president personally i think this president has been consequential from a conservative point of view it's been an amazing 4 years in terms of judges securing the border. a vaccine in record deregulating the con to be cutting taxes
12:08 am
historic mideast peace agreements the destruction of the caliphate all on and on and on was tarnished but yesterday when it comes to accountability the president needs to understand that his actions are the problem not the solution atika joins us live now from capitol hill patty interesting there hearing a senator lindsey graham saying that the president's actions were part of the problem and not the solution i mean how do you feel about hearing from senior republicans that in a sense are opposing the president now and what happened yesterday but perhaps too little too late. it is fairly remarkable so here was the big question after the of her news of the events that happened here just 24 hours ago really started to sink in the question became how damaging is this going to be to u.s. president donald trump will he still be able to be as he hoped the head of the
12:09 am
republican party we saw that yesterday in his speech he said look any members of congress who don't support us we're going to make sure they lose their job in the next primary or is the talk from lindsey graham an indication of they think that maybe he's not going to be remembered so while after this so lindsey graham saying it's not time to invoke the 25th amendment but he also said a couple of other things that i think are important to point out remember this is the lindsey graham who had nothing but horrible things to say about president trump until he was elected and then he became his biggest offender he said a couple of things he said i have spoken out when i thought it was necessary i cannot remember a single instance when lindsey graham really spoke out forcefully on any of the president's inflammatory comments or policies he said that he did this because he was able to have access to the president to try to influence policy and we see that a lot of people close to the president they say they try to send the message that i can still be invited to d.c. cocktail parties because you can imagine the stuff that i kept him from doing and
12:10 am
he went on to say that the people around the president his chief of staff he said you'll never know all they did to protect this country so then another thing he seemed to equate what happened here at the capitol to the black lives matter movement which protests and in some cases riots that happened over the summer this is something you're starting to see in conservative media because i mean how can you justify the video of those people wearing their red hats and the trump flags inundating the capitol in a violent violent fashion now they're saying well look it was you know there were riots the black clothes matter important to point out and i think joe biden the incoming president said look if these were black lives matter protesters they would have been hand. a lot differently by police and that's something that needs to be looked into the on the other thing they're saying it's a conservative media is that it was possibly anti for that term supporters who were doing all of that vile and so started to see a little spin from the people who've been closest to the president probably not to
12:11 am
convince you know passing lane with the latest now from capitol hill patty thank you. well the president elect joe biden has also spoken branding the people responsible for the unrest domestic terrorists witness yesterday it was not dissent it was not disorder it was not protest it was chaos there were protesters don't dare call them protesters they were a riotous mob insurrectionist domestic terrorists is that basic it's that simple and i wish we could say we couldn't see it coming. a christian salumi is in wilmington where of course the president elect was speaking christine we heard from house speaker nancy pelosi saying that she thinks it should be the be the 25th amendment or perhaps impeachment but one way or another president trump should go that biden say anything about that the 25th
12:12 am
amendment for example should it be invoked. no he did not in need took no questions but even before he began his remarks which were to announce his choice for attorney general he signaled that he wouldn't be answering any questions about the 25th amendment knowing that this was the hot topic in the press he did not hesitate to blame president trump for what happened at the capital saying it was the culmination of 4 years of disregard for the constitution and the rule of law but i think he was signaling a hands off approach a more traditional hands off approach that he plans to take with his justice department in naming merrick garland a centrist judge the current member of the d.c. appeals court known as the 2nd highest court in the united states that he
12:13 am
would leave the justice department to enforce laws and not lean on him in a way that president chomped was known to do he praised the judiciary of the united states in fact for not caving to the president who leaned on them heavily particularly when it came to counting votes in the last election and lawsuits alleging election fraud but he said that for his purposes he planned to reaffirm the justice department as a pillar of integrity and independence this again is a more traditional approach to the justice department and he praised merrick garland as someone who has impeccable integrity someone who would be loyal to the law and not to the president himself we also heard other themes from joe biden in terms of his campaign promises his plans to reform
12:14 am
perhaps laws to his. it meant to the need for justice reform and 'd enforcing laws in a more fair and humane way those were the words of his vice president camila harris talking about. that need in his nomination of 3 women to serve with merrick garland 2 of them prominent civil rights attorneys va need a good turn kristen clarke he talked about. the need to bring the country together in that way so we're hearing from joe biden certainly condemnation of the president's actions and what happened at the capitol but not a prescription for how to deal with that instead showing that he will leave enforcement of the law to those who are charged with that job as opposed to
12:15 am
trying to dictate how the law should be enforced from the very eventful transition period for the president elect to christen salumi with the latest from wilmington delaware thank you. still to come on the news hour too risky for facebook and blocked from twitter social media giants clamp down on trump's they've wrecked lines to his supporters rolling up their sleeves to protect their community but it's feared coronavirus could soon overwhelm a british hospitals and we'll have the action from the dakar rally in saudi arabia that's coming up in sports. a 2nd state of emergency will come into effect in tokyo on friday the months long restrictions are a bid by the government to get control of the coronavirus ahead of the olympic

a bit of the dark title we used to get the 1st pandemic. so it might take a bit more than cheerleaders at a tokyo train station to lift the spirits at the start of what would be a long month for many. al-jazeera. more than $1100.00 people have died after testing positive for the corona virus in the u.k. as the country struggles with a new variant of the disease health service leaders are now warning that london's hospitals could become overwhelmed within days and as john hall now reports the vaccine rollout is not progressing smoothly. britain's vaccine rollout isn't going entirely to plan at one local doctor's practice in central london supplies of the newly approved oxford astra zeneca jab hadn't arrived as expected or quickly the health secretary was there to oversee distribution now we can make sure that it gets to all those g.p. surgeries that like this one can do all the vaccinations that are needed
12:19 am
now the rate limiting step is the supply of vaccine and we're working with the companies both pfizer and of course astra zeneca to increase the supply and supply is proving a problem since december 1 and a half 1000000 people have received either the pfizer or astra zeneca jab most with only a single dose so far the 2nd delayed in the hope that more can receive a 1st dose more quickly it's a life saving strategy said mr hancock and is not one supported by the drug manufacturers or the world health organization at all make me feel more comfortable going out to the shops to shop and things went bad you know. because. it shows a crusade to make changes people. the government is a long way from injecting 2000000 people a week required to meet its target of 13900000 of the elderly and most vulnerable

by mid february this is a national challenge on a scale like nothing we've seen before and it will work choir and i'm precedented national effort and of course there will be difficulties appointments will be changed a bit those brigadier prosser will shortly explain the army is working hand in glove with the n.h.s. and local councils to set up our vaccine network and using battle preparation techniques to help us keep up the pace all the while covert 19 and its more infectious variant are running rampant. and h.s. leaders have warned that london hospitals in particular could be overwhelmed within days short of thousands of critical care beds by mid january there is a national lockdown in place but this is a clear race now fire us versus vaccine jono al-jazeera the world health organization meanwhile says europe is at
12:21 am
a tipping point in its corona virus outbreak the agency's director for the continent said more infectious variants of the virus are raising alarm hence kluger also said the continent should look for a quote safe compromise when deciding how long the gap between vaccine doses should be the w.h.o. says the 2nd pfizer biotech vaccine jab should not be delayed by more than 6 weeks but the u.k. is holding it off by up to 12 weeks in a bid to give more people a single dose this moment represents a tipping point in the course of the pandemic were science politics technology and values must form a united front in order to push back this persistent and elusive fighter's which means that for a short period of time we need to do more than we have done and to i've been so fight the public over social measures to be certain we can flatten the steep

vertical line. michele katz that came as a professor of medicine in new knology is also a member of the independent panel for pandemic preparedness and response which is examining how the world health organization has handled the coronavirus pandemic to ensure it to and other countries can effectively address future health threats sir thank you so much for joining us here on al-jazeera so you will have heard the words there of a representative from the w.h.o. talking about the gap between doses what do you make for example of the fact that the u.k. has already said that in some cases it's going to leave about 12 weeks between vaccine doses they're saying it's to immunize more people do you think that's the right approach and i'm concerned with this approach in this decisions to be honest the manufacturer clearly says that the delay should not be more than 6 weeks we
12:23 am
have no evidence whatsoever that direction ation will be effective if that delay is brought on just beyond 6 weeks and even if you were to let's it double within the next few weeks or increase by 5 times the number of people vaccinated in the u.k. currently 1500000 that would mean maybe 10000000 people back she needed which is. in a population of 66 or 70000000 still a small fraction there's there's no way at this time that the race between the virus and the vaccine as your correspondent just said will be won by vaccines so as holmes kluger the europe director for their b a h o said what we need to do and on senate inquiry is intensive over now is the social measures that is social distancing masks washing hands tracing contacts
12:24 am
this is the way to slow down the virus the the vaccine is coming as a complimentary in hopefully in a few months from now. strong barrier to the progression of the virus but that this . it is social measures that we need to implement the priority you mentioned social measures rightly so but of course the u.k. is actually now back into a national lockdown it only opened up for a few weeks in the center before going back at the national lockdown so that's pretty much as stringent as it can be do you think that we might see the sort of british approach of what to call it that repeated in other european nations to avoid what would be a very punishing 2nd or 3rd lockdown for many places. it maybe it maybe because you know although there's no evidence today but it is very likely that this

new byron vireo variant will become far more widespread than it is at this time and we will see this particular variant that is more transmissible and other variants such as the the one detected in south africa and brazil which is more resistant to and to body neutralization. grow and expand within the population there are certainly no president in most countries of the european continent it will take a few more weeks before they become more apparent does it surprise you when the world health organization says that europe is at a tipping point when we think that europe is one of the most advanced most wealthy places in the world and also one of the 1st places in the world to be hit by corona virus if we think if we started spreading in italy so after its spread in asia does it surprise you that we're still here nearly a year later it is it is

a lesson from coheed that the way we measure the effectiveness of l. systems and what we call the strongest health systems in the world are not this is eerily the systems that are the best prepared to respond to an epidemic in an emergency state in fact many of the countries in europe own haven't even rehearsed for such a scenario in the last 5 to 10 years whereas countries in asia would do that every 2nd or every 3rd year at least so i don't think the performance of health system based on how much people can access to it on the free bases or on how much. the most powerful in new technology skin be available means that those countries will be prepared to respond to the

emergency global health threat and it's certainly been a lesson for us all michelle catskin professor of medicine any mean all the g. sir thank you. let's go back to our top story now the storming of capitol hill on wednesday the mayor of washington d.c. is this quite the security breach as a catastrophic failure and call for an immediate investigation but muriel bowser defended the district's own police force saying it does not have jurisdiction over federal property the congress must create a nonpartisan commission to understand the catastrophic security failures that happened at the capitol on january 6th 2021 both to hold people accountable and to ensure that it never happens again we must also understand why the federal law enforcement response was much stronger at the protest over the summer than during yesterday's attack on congress well omarosa manigault newman is

a former white house advisor to president trump and she joins us now via skype from jacksonville in florida melissa thank you so much for joining us here on al-jazeera 1st of all we're coming up to 24 hours after the event more or less what was your reaction both yesterday and i guess even now when the dust the settled a little bit it was so shocking after spending 25 years of my life and d.c. and politics and government i have never witnessed anything like it it was a very sad moment for our country but also the lowest of low for the trumpet ministries you of course worked with donald trump i believe at the beginning of the administration and you knew him from before because you'd met him on the apprentice t.v. program how do you compare the man that you must have admired at the time because you worked with him to the man that has been accused by many over actually causing
12:29 am
what we saw in on capitol hill yesterday. well simply put this donald trump that i'm seeing is completely unhinged the man this set across from me for hours in the fortress negotiating deals it was coherent he was bright he was engaging and this man that i'm seeing who starts these massive riots that leads mobs to the very seat of political power in our country this is not the person that i knew 17 years ago. of course now a lot hinges on what the vice president might decide to do if he might decide to invoke the 25th amendment tell us a little bit about the backstage and the sort of people and i guess maybe in later years when you were in there anymore but from what you hear the sorts of people that the president surrounds himself with and how difficult it must be for some of these people to resign now as we're seeing they are doing. well i'm still in touch with many of my former colleagues in the west wing and many of them have shared
12:30 am
with me very disturbing stories about donald trump and what they do it's he is experiencing i described it as a psychotic episode because he has no grass on reality they say that the environment in the west wing is extremely tense and some have even described it as toxic but one person who had a conversation with donald trump said that he rambled about that he didn't make sense he didn't complete full sentences and nothing that he said it was very coherent so i'm really concerned about the mental health of the president we have seen him make decisions that are are quite frankly very harmful to our democracy and so the discussions about tense and whether or not he has the courage to enact that's when he or to both the 25th amendment really i haven't seen much of a back well not from bice president hands in the last 4 years and i don't expect to
12:31 am
see him stand up for what's right in the next 2 weeks but do you think that what we saw happen at capitol hill might be the tipping point not just for the insiders in the white house but really for a lot of people who support president trump no matter what. no i'm sorry but they saw what he did after charlottesville they saw how he reacted to black lives matter protesters they saw that he separated children from their parents and put them in cages and so no this is not going to change their mind this is a cult of personality and these folks are following him to the end and to the brink of absolute destruction i mean you say cult of personality in essence he always was that i mean he was a t.v. star as well as a businessman he always said controversial things he often said things out loud that most of us would just think and not to say and i know you mentioned that but tell us again when you think the change happened and how different he is that now
12:32 am
to the man that you knew when you decided to work for you know the change that i witnessed you know this is going to sound really ironic but you know after he took the oath i talked with him extensively of course i had to resign as a senior adviser but within the 1st week of the administration donald trump in that at this muslim band i don't know if you recall and i remember talking to him saying what do you doing this makes no sense why what we do this and there was a look in his eye that i never seen and i could only describe it as this power rush you know when people get addicted to power and they get high up power and so i what i was witnessing was an intoxicated version of donald trump he was intoxicated and drunk with power. omarosa manigault newman i'm going to have to leave it there but thank you so much for sharing your experiences and thoughts with us thank you thanks for having me. this is the news hour live from london still ahead put the

capital riots bring a premature end to the trump presidency we'll look at how the 25th amendment could be invoked. and there is a debut half century for a young australian cricketer in sydney general with all the action in sport. it's cold enough over most of europe not to produce snow quite easily so every time there's an active system gave the top of this cloud for example chances are the snow it goes fast says measuring this is the top of the mountains in corsica surrounded by the waltzes and snow has fallen and this is the actives are now from spain to the mediterranean and up towards the eastern side of europe where it's

cold but there's no way so things moving very slowly chances are they'll be significant snow in parts of ukraine belarus and this year india and then this is transition to snow and rain right across the balkans and towards for mania maybe the place to focus on is spade where we've got i think potentially significant snow on its way vilnius represents mainland europe with this snow heavy 1st and dying off and then the weekend as temperatures drop away daytime have minus 7 in vilnius as i said to spain's a place to watch easily haul for me just now on the relatively high ground in the center of spain that's all moving slowly north as i said you won't get a meter in place or 2 and then the events here and by the arcs story whether it's a big strong winds sun's told and probably rain but maybe have you the watch that's .

welcome back here's a reminder of the top stories on al-jazeera more than 24 hours after a violent mob stormed the u.s. capital more than a dozen police officers remain in hospital 4 people died after an evening of rising calls for president trump to be removed from office after the incident have grown the top democrats in the senate minority leader chuck schumer has called on the vice president to begin the process to remove trump from office and more than 60 people have now been arrested following the violence that number is expected to rise and there is growing concern over why police were unable to do more to prevent

the assault. donald trump has been testing the patience of social media companies with his use of technology to get his messages the wreck to his followers but wednesday's riot seems to have made the companies act against facebook and instagram have banned trump from using the platforms at least until the end of his presidential term twitter locked trump's account for 12 hours after repeatedly posting false accusations about the election trump hasn't tweeted anything since the ban expired well live streaming company twitches also banned from using the platform while online commerce company shopify has dumped its stores that were affiliated with the president that speak to dillon macklemore an assistant professor of public relations at the university of central arkansas he johns joins us via skype thank you so much for being with us here on al-jazeera were you surprised by the reactions by facebook and instagram and twitter of course which is

always proved pivotal to the president. thank you for having you are barbara i think that this was the breaking point the they've tried to be very lenient i think some of these social media companies have even had statements where they've said you know normally what the president's doing would be bannable behavior or suspended all behavior but because of who he is because of his position we think there's a public interest in allowing it but there was very little room for that when you saw after the violence had already happened continuing to fan the flames of conspiracy and telling the people committing the violence that he loves them that they are great patriots that was condoning violence in the platforms couldn't couldn't be associated with that and it was interesting how that was actually a video so as usually he sort of writes that was actually a video saying that on all the platforms so seeing as the president obviously has form and putting out controversial content why these temporary suspensions why not
12:39 am
just the president bad especially from twitter say. twitter is unique and i think it is because it's the primary vehicle that president trump is used throughout his 4 years to communicate just period he goes around the media he goes around traditional means of sending out messages he tweets fairings he tweets announcements of new policies and so twitter recognizes that position that their platform has within his presidency and the importance of that communication channel so i think that's why they were more hesitant to just put the complete ban on him but rather just time him out for a for a brief time but yeah eventually this is going to run into this is a person who's repeatedly violating the agreement when you use these platforms and they have to take action whoever that is it doesn't matter whether he uses these massive platforms like facebook instagram and twitter for example there's another twitter like platform called parlow which tends to be a bit more right wing at war perhaps one would think his base would follow him is
12:40 am
he big enough not to necessarily need the platforms themselves as long as he's got some kind of social media channel. you would think in america if anyone is big enough to not need a particular platform as the president of the united states they still have this ability just because of the office to garner gigantic media attention to get their message out in a number of different authoritative ways parler as you mentioned is a chance to go into an echo chamber we're only going to find agreeable voices parlor is cater very specifically to the conservative audience and he could go there but i think a lot of what donald trump does with social media is use it as a step toward reaching traditional media where he reaches his supporters and then he reaches journalists and journalists don't spend a lot of time in places like parlor though i suppose it brings us back to the kind of issue that's been apparent with social media for years now you know whether they
12:41 am
are platforms a whether they are you know as responsible for the messages posted every day how did you feel when you saw that message from mark zuckerberg announcing that trump would be off instagram and facebook and that's an awful lot of power in the hands of a man who is not elected i mean rightly or wrongly in this case but that it makes you uncomfortable. that the thing is it's so easy for us to say this was over the line and this deserved to be censored but we're always careful i mean these companies have it here to refer to as a 1st amendment philosophy they're not required by law to protect freedom of speech they're not the government nevertheless the power they wield says that they can take away a voice if they don't agree with what is being said and that's what a lot of the debate in the halls of congress and just in the country in general relates to these social media platforms should they be able to do that and that's why there's always going to be an easy even in a case like this when
12:42 am
a platform or as you mentioned one person mark zuckerberg can say that's it your out yeah it's a fascinating topic i'm sure we'll be discussing this for years to come for the moment that dylan macklemore assistant professor of public relations at the university of central arkansas thank you thank you. now there's been a lot of discussion in the past few hours about invoking the 25th amendment to the constitution to remove president trump the clause was added to the u.s. constitution in 1967 it clarifies the presidential line of succession and sets out a process for failing the vice presidency if that office becomes vacant but it also created a way to remove a sitting president if the vice president and the majority of the cabinet believe quote that the president is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office the vice presidential immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as acting president well the president can get his authority back by objecting in

writing if the vice president and cabinet disagree the congress has 3 weeks to decide the issue the president gets his powers back unless 2 thirds of both the house and the senate agree to his removal. well democrats and several republicans have called for trump to be removed but wednesday's unrest by not affected the president's course support base that's the view of former republican congressman and trump critic joe walsh who i spoke to a little earlier look yesterday was a dark day i mean for america the the world wept for us we had an attempted physical overthrow of our election but i heard from follow sins of trump supporters yesterday i've heard from thousands of them today and most of them the vast majority of them don't have a problem with what happened yesterday or they made an excuse for what happened
12:44 am
yesterday they're sticking with donald trump what do you make of that reaction that we've seen from various senior republicans though who do consider donald trump responsible in part for what happened you know generally the republicans lindsey graham and ted cruz in all the rest they've been cowards or they've aided and abetted this president remember donald trump has been attacking our democracy he's been attacking our election for months months before the election and these republicans kept their mouths shut i think yesterday stared them startled them and only because of that have some of them done the right thing but no it's way too late for these republicans. nothing trunk did yesterday was surprising. although now there is talk of perhaps invoking the 25th amendment
12:45 am
a possible impeachment through congress what do you make of either one of those possibilities. he should be removed america is not safe with donald trump in the white house he should be gone tomorrow he should be gone in an hour i hope it happens either way the 25th amendment or impeach and remove him it could happen very quickly i don't think it will happen i think republicans know it won't happen and that's why you may see some republicans come out and talk about it knowing that won't happen now most americans recoiled at what happened yesterday plenty of republicans recoiled at it but donald trump right now he all means the the republican base and i don't think that's going to change anytime soon but does that mean that then i guess form of republicans like he'll or current

republicans should just resigned themselves to the fact that the republican party now belongs to the whole trump. yes and it look if you're a former republican like me and you're an opponent of donald trump you don't have a future in the republican party not for a long long time but if donald trump wants to run for president again in 2024 as crazy as this sounds right now there's nobody in the republican party that can stop him what ted cruz and josh fawley and those guys did of jetting to the election they only did it because they know if they want to be president in 2024 they have to embrace trump so that's still where the republican energy is it makes me sad but that's the way it is for became obvious on wednesday is that there certainly is
