and the conflict shows few signs of letting up. we have teams in multiple locations we'll bring you the latest from ramallah garza bethlehem and now plus here on the news out. families in gaza scared for their lives and forced to leave their homes taking refuge in a school. ok let's get going starting this news out of the occupied west bank where a wave of protests have broken out over the israeli occupation there's also growing frustration and anger after israel intensified its airstrikes over gaza to stop rocket attacks from there there are ongoing standoff between protesters and israeli police in at least 200 different places from hebron and bethlehem to nablus and ramallah the police of volleys of tear gas and their. reports of live ammunition

being used as well at least 7 palestinians have been killed by israeli security forces since friday morning many gathered for peaceful protest marches after friday prayers there's growing anger over both israel's occupation of palestine and the intensifying bombardment of gaza overnight israeli jets tanks and artillery hammered the territory forcing people to take shelter where they could 119 palestinians including 31 children have been killed since the offensive began on monday how mass fired another $220.00 rockets towards israel where at least 8 people have died since the conflict escalated the israeli military has deployed troops to the border between israel and gaza. well as we were saying a little earlier the top of the news will be live in bethlehem gaza and you can see there get a sense of what's going on on the streets we have teams covering this story the

length and breadth of israel and gaza suffered in gaza harry forces in southern israel near and the israeli artillery battery we'll talk to them in just a moment 1st live to need it to him in ramallah in the occupied west bank just take us through what's been going on there since the last time we spoke to you. this is the situation that is unfolding here near the legal israeli settlement of bet where there is an israeli military checkpoint we've been seeing over the past few minutes since we spoke we spoke last palestinians were throwing fireworks at the israeli army probably in an attempt to fend off a drone that carried and loaded with tear gas bombs that is being flown by the israeli army and it can go to locations probably the army cannot reach so they lift the drone op take it to where the crowds ours and then they drop the tear gas

bombs as you can see the protesters are still an absent flows they go towards the israeli army and then when they are met with for us with the rubber coated steel bullets or we're even hearing shots of live ammunition as well as the skunk. the 2nd quarter truck that has been used against the protesters over here all in all the situation in the occupied west bank is intensifying and people are saying that while they were at these protests were sparked by the latest round of escalation they have more than enough reasons to protest against the israeli occupation the in go and ongoing attacks by israeli settlers against them against them that are often carried out with impunity without indictment by the israeli

state so yeah as you can see there is a lot of frustration by palestinians and they're trying to take to the streets to vent and to talk about it and to fight the israeli occupation do we have any idea how many people are trying to get away from and if they where are they going. you mean there are protesters who are trying to get away from the army as you can see now. crowds are cheering cause some palestinians threw a moment of on one of the israeli army jeeps and there are palestinians who are here coming to cheer the palestinian protesters now as we can see another round of tear gas fired at the protesters by the israeli army so they're trying to get away from the soldiers trying to get away from the tear gas bombs some are even carrying these gas bombs and throwing it back to the israeli army and israeli

soldiers. and we are seeing cheers from the palestinians who are over here remember the methods that palestinians are using to confront israeli soldiers are not necessarily do not necessarily cause danger to the israeli soldiers but as many of them were telling us it's their way of showing that they're not afraid of the javine armed israeli soldiers and they are trying their best to show their frustration and anger and that they are indeed fighting the israeli occupation in every way they can these reports that the israeli military is using live ammunition of those reports relevant to your location in ramallah and if they are using live ammunition is that a quote ordinary israeli soldier or is it israeli snipers that they're using.

it depends on the situation in response to your question about the live ammunition being used here yes we've heard several rounds of live ammunition that with fired we know that one palestinian was hit by live ammunition in the chest we're probably seeing one more palestinian who needs to go to the hospital is being transported now by the ambulances in terms of the israeli soldiers there are specific. there are specific soldiers who are used to target palestinians or use live ammunition but there are snipers who are targeting palestinians and in some previous protests we heard a risk see in morse to all of the injuries at the lower part of the body but this time this is not necessarily what we're seeing we're seeing injuries towards the

chest the words the head which is why this situation is very volatile and it could escalate even further. knitter thanks very much that it was him reporting live there for the special news from ramallah let's just show you the latest live pictures as well coming to us from that arch you can see there what looks like israeli military equipment on the border there getting ready for something or planning on maintaining a position there there is a lot of speculation that we are imminently about to see some sort of israeli incursion across the border in to gaza or it's just being used as choreography to send a signal to primarily hamas but also to the broader palestinian community that something is about to happen let's talk to a force that our correspondent in southern israel harry can we just step back for a 2nd to give us a sense of where we are now we're into what day 5 going into day 6.

yes that's right and it has been a day which started off after an extremely heavy night of strikes going into gaza and indeed rocket attacks coming out the earlier part of the day was comparatively something of a lol there were continuing strikes in both directions over not quite to the same level that we've been seeing recently i think if we're talking about the last few days we're talking about the most significant military escalation obviously since the war we're talking about new kinds of tactics used by hamas and the other fighting factions inside gaza sending long range rockets and huge numbers of rockets in short concentrated periods of time to attack urban areas in central israel in ways that have not been done before and as well as that we're seeing.

strikes on gaza itself that seem determined to inflict a large amount of damage both in terms of the huge buildings that we've seen demolished by israeli airstrikes the targeted attacks on senior members of hamas the ignoring really of international calls to step back or talk about cease fires at this moment and also we're talking about something that we are hearing in israeli reporting which was this enormous barash and bombardment in northern gaza on thursday night there was a talk at that time of a potential ground incursion and indeed the israeli military said that it was attacking in gaza from the ground and from the air so that seemed to be a suggestion in many media companies took it as a suggestion that there was a ground invasion underway there reporting an israeli military now is that that was

israeli military firing reportedly firing rubber coated bullets and also stealing coated bullets we have seen inaccurate reporting saying that an incursion had begun and then the word king. from the israeli military saying that they had put that there to get people to move away from the border area people are already leaving the border area anyway because the palestinians suspect that something is just about to happen 24 hours ago we were doing interviews here on al-jazeera we were talking to guests and they were saying this was a softening up process ahead of something else happening or mr netanyahu is just signalling his intent and his desire not to step back from where they are at the moment those pictures live from nablus to show you the latest live as well from ramallah that abraham our correspondent at the top of the hour taking us through what's going on there every so often in ramallah off camera but all night

right now to abraham is our correspondent in ramallah and we've been monitoring the live pictures from where you are and again there's this almost like a running battle between local palestinians slingshot stones and rocks towards the israeli military on the right hand side of the shot we've been looking at. yes there are going and abs and flows the palestinian protesters are throwing rocks and also molotov cocktails that they've prepared before the protest and are throwing them at the israeli army just a few minutes ago we've seen them also use fireworks and we think it's part of that ways to confuse the israeli drone drone that is carrying multiple tear gas bombs and it's throwing them at the protesters so they are kind of using basic means to control their heavily armed soldiers that are over there and then when the soldiers come in through

a live ammunition or shoot rubber coated steel bullets or tear gas we see the palestinians moving back towards where the protests have started so it goes on abs and flows and it's important to tell our viewers how protesters view these confrontations they know that if they have a rock or a molotov cocktail or a marble even that sometimes is used it's not going to be affecting the israeli soldiers or putting them in danger they know that the israeli army is heavily armed and they have snipers that can target palestinians they even have a term for the palestinians know that sometimes there is what's called here as kneecapping soldiers that are targeting the knees because once the knees hit they can. if you can make sure that the palestinian are the person that's being shot is paralyzed and or crippled so they're very you know that there is

a great danger that is associated with protesting but many were telling us that they've lost hope they want to confront the occupation they want to show the soldiers that they're not afraid that they are fighting for having freedom for having a state of their own and they want to show the world they're they're not afraid this is i think that important message that many protesters have been telling us over the few past days and they tell us that they want to keep doing this until palestine is free to get the sense the need to if people are behaving in the way that the palestinians behind you are behaving at the moment those young men because it's always predominantly young men who who behave like that that there is that sense that they've got nothing to lose and there is also a way of behaving off the back of you know we've been talking to israeli military analysts over the past few hours here because people were based in israel and they

were saying look israel is taking on one of the most sophisticated proponents of guerrilla warfare any place in the middle east but those young men behind you that you've been filming and talking about for us that's not guerrilla warfare that's teenagers that's young men in their twenty's who wouldn't know how to carry out a guerrilla conflict all they know is how to throw rocks and stones because that's all they've got. yes and palestinians have been telling us that they want to show that that imbalance of power that they are only armed with stolen is only on good one out of cork till's but they want if they are losing hope at having a palestinian state they want to make sure that they are not making the occupation very easy for israel let's put it this way they want and let's remember that these are young people who were born after the palestinian authority was established

after the also accords were signed and there haven't seen any hope for for freedom for a state you told so for them they've grown up hearing their leaders talk about having their own state with these jerusalem as its capital and the fact that they're going to have a better economic conditions or even the mere. right of being free but all they're seeing on the ground is growing illegal israeli settlements growing attacks by some of those that often go on indicted so there is a sense of impunity when it comes to these settlers and these people they are would tell you that the very last they are hoping to build their state on then the view those have been promising them to build their state on our shrinking and they've been telling us also that many israeli settlers have been getting more audacity over the past few years to attack palestinians even if they are in their villages
