corona virus appears far wider than any one thought. ah, a search for survivors officer residential building collapses in the us. justin is missing. ah, i'm not back. and this is all just alive from. also coming up. another grim discovery, a canadian indigenous group says it's find hundreds more unmarked graves at a former residential school. an admission of air strikes, but if you of his military denies, hitting a busy marketing guy reported the killing dozens of people and russia rebuked the u . k. after a naval confrontation in the black sea,

ah, under the fire rescue workers, it's searching for survivors. after a section of an apartment block collapsed in the u. s. state of florida. at least one person died when 12 stories of the building and so side, the miami beach plunged to the ground in the early hours of thursday morning. at least 51 residence missing before to say they rescued. 35 people really should look out the window and see. i thought it was like a store coming in. what happened was that when the dust cleared, there was the back half the building or back 2 thirds of the building was gone. and the dog in the neighborhood, and basically we have like a really big ramble. i think that it was like a motorcycle like classic early in the morning and we turn around and we see
7:02 pm
a cloud at home and always just like what is going on. okay, let's go to a hot dog who's by that collapsed building in miami. kreme just talk us through what's happening with the rescue efforts. first of all. well, those efforts are ongoing. rob and this staging guerria for the search and rescue efforts are actually just a few blocks behind me here. and you can see the building over my shoulder right over here. it's a 12 story building is you mentioned 136 units in it. half of which have been damaged by this collapse. i think 55 in total have just been completely destroyed and the others have been rendered uninhabitable. we have 30 people who are pulled out of the rubble and one person that we know of who has passed away. but this is a building where there was some, some, some roofing work being done. it was built in 1981 and it was
7:03 pm
undergoing it's re certification program. it's 4040 year re certification and it had some roof repairs that were that were under way. it's not clear if any of that construction actually contributed to the collapse don't would just be seeing some pictures as you've been talking to is kareem of some of the survivors being pulled out of the rubble is, i know it's very early into this incident, but is there any speculation there at the moment about what might have caused this not at this point, rob, i mean some residents had been complaining about construction in the area. i mentioned the renovation work being done on the building. and there's another building right adjacent to this one that had just been completed, i think in 2002 that was also undergoing from renovation somewhat fancy or building. and so there was some heavy construction equipment on site. but it's,
7:04 pm
we don't know yet what, what the causes that's still being investigated. and the priority right now is on the search and rescue efforts. and i mean, this is, it's obviously shocking when you think about this. this isn't something that you expect to happen in the u. s. and that you don't see happening all the time. is that people here just absolutely shocked. there was a similar collapse at a building in 2018 where about a dozen people passed away. and we are expecting the death tool here to rise. it's still one person that's the confirmed casualty count that we have now. and there's lots of questions as to why the death count isn't, isn't much higher already. well, we don't know how many residents were in the building. the property manager does not actually keep a list of residents. they only keep a list of visitors and they're using that list to try and figure out how many
7:05 pm
people are actually missing and, and try and try and find them yet the big we're just looking at some pictures of the moments and see to see tv pictures i think, or certainly they've been shot maybe by somebody on their mobile phone of the moment that the building, that part of the building actually comes down. it's extraordinary to think that people have actually been able to survive that incident. tell me what you've been hearing from people in the community about how this is affected them. and one would imagine also, of course, people who good friends and family who are living in that blog. absolutely, absolutely. i mean, also one thing when you, when you look at this video of the, of the building collapsing, you'll notice that there, there are lights on in many of these units. so whether or not people were inside or they left and their, their lights were on. it's not entirely clear this is hurricane season here in
7:06 pm
florida. the rain has just recently led up and usually people tend to leave those who can leave and they have homes elsewhere. they're called them snowbird sometimes . so there's a lot of the seasonal residents who aren't here may be and are not in miami, and maybe we're not inside the building when it collapse. but no doubt, we've heard stories from residents who were in there who are awaken up from their sleep by the shaking, who walked outside to scenes of rubble. and were just the unclear on what, what to do. and now a few blocks away from where we are here. there is a family reunification center where authorities are doing their best to try and track down the missing and connect them with their families. as you can imagine, they're being inundated with, with phone calls and requests from people within the community who are, who are concerns. and we've talked about this earlier aside from just the, the desk told that we have here and the injured. you have to remember that you have
7:07 pm
a bunch of people here who are now homeless. we're talking about hundreds of people who have effectively been made homeless by this collapse and the housing market in the u. s. and in miami area, in particular, is extremely hot. scott, home prices are much higher than the, than they have been before. rent prices are also very high. so these people are going to have a hard time finding a place to use, you know, just kind of recuperate and rebuild their lives. obviously we're going to be keeping across those stories develops, but for now cutting me how died in miami. thank you very much. indeed. an indigenous group in canada, it says is discovered $751.00 unmarked graves at the sight of a former residential school. the group says the discovery in scotch, one province is the largest of its kind in canada. last month, the remains of $215.00 children were found at another former catholic run school in british columbia. at least 150000 indigenous children were forcibly removed from

their families and sent to residential schools. a last was close in the 1990 s. we are going to be putting names to these unmarked graves. we want to honor our loved ones that lay there today. we want to make sure that we keep god place and preserve it so many can come here and he'll it's going to hurt in the coming months because the more we put names because i'm the more that it is going to re, re open some of the pains that many in maryville residential school got sinclair is a professor natal studies at the university of manitoba. he says indigenous people in canada. i've been trying to draw attention to the deaths for years. the discovery or the uncovering of residential school children at the schools which ran for about 10125 years or so in the country. these schools were run

schools taken away forcibly by the canadian government and never came home. so it's no surprise for peoples, but it certainly is the price for canadians who have been sold a narrative that have talked a lot about schools being educating children. it is just people's know that these schools were about exterminating children. and so this is the case that we're uncovered now and now irrefutable evidence that this is what is with the case throughout the country. if you appears defense ministry denying that one of its military air strikes it, a busy mortgage in the northern t drive region, but it had mits attacking to dr. regional fighters in the area doesn't as a civilians were reportedly killed in the strike on tuesday, was the u. s. is called a reprehensible act, or how much that reports from out of the hospital in makella capital of the ticket region, doctors through the wounded witnesses say a busy market was hit fan. if your pin strike would kill dozens of people including
