to contain and control not only the armed group, but of course the military of congo. and also uganda. i think that what i'm talking about when i say pay attention, it's all of those elements. i don't think right now there was an appetite for truth outside of the region or choose outside of a un framework to come in. i don't think revere yet, and i don't think that we want to jump to that as the as the next step. i think the next step is to really engage 1st on the diplomatic front, making sure that we are all talking to the leaders of both countries so that they understand the seriousness or the potential for this to get out of hand back in the early 2000 you know, it became one of the, i guess, africans, you know, greater civil wars where you had 5 countries or 5 countries with truth in congo at the same time. based on the 1st contact. we don't want to see that happen again

because it took from 1998 to 2003. to get that back in the box. the key will be to engage, to have dialogue, but also keep an eye on whether or not the collective international community needs to go back to the us to see whether or not a greater peacekeeping force needs to come in. and to also pay attention to what the society and the local people that live in that region they suffer through this before you have concerned by a number of civilians in that area about these divulging again again into what we saw in late 999 up to 2003, given your extensive experience in the region, do you have a feeling that the military of congo and also uganda are capable of carrying out this particular tract. and that will essentially nip it in the bud. that will stop things or do you think that it is going to enter a period of attrition, essentially that this is just going to be the start of

a series of actions like this? i think there are possibilities for both things. scenarios that you mentioned, the one that worries me most in the ones that i keep an eye on come, you know, coming out to the background is the influence of i feel and the, the role and the goals. and i still, in, in the, in this fight, we know that they are already linked to adf. they have been for some time, are we going to have elements from other other former wars like syria. a and i also coming into the fight and i think that the general for the entire continent, i don't think we're paying enough attention to the growth of, of i, phil and other islamic elements that are coming into the african continent. and this is just another example. so got to keep our eye not only on whether or not a lot of foreign to to coming out are connected to. i still are coming more into the area. we gotta make sure that the diplomatic engagement stays on track. we've
