changes have happened to a long christian. i'd like to ask you to explain to our audience just how these sanctions are hampering aid efforts. how much more difficult has your job gotten? has the jobs of so many other aid workers in afghan or stan gotten because of the sanctions? as for just a 3rd, the human its own situation is extremely challenging. right now we have an economy incomplete, free for people losing their jobs and they are hungry. so we're dealing with the most vulnerable, internally displaced people. and i've just met some of them today here in western afghanistan. and they literally have nothing to eat. i hear stories where they distract their children to have them forget that and the food is not coming. i've heard about people who got a little bit of wheat flour,

they're mixed up with water. and so for their children, the situation is extremely challenging. and we are simply not able to get the money into the country that we need to carry out our humanitarian operations. just as an example, i have a colleague who lives in denmark, and she is working here as an emergency specialist. she wanted to take out some cash dollars from denmark to use for her own personal use here in afghanistan. but when the bank asked asked, and she was honest and said she was going to afghanistan, they were refusing to give her any cash dollars out of fear that they would violate the sanctions. she was, she's here to save lives and she couldn't get the cast policy needed here in afghanistan. she would be absolutely fine. see, she is doing her job here. no problem. the problem is for the afghans that millions of people are suffering here. and we are simply that the money that us not getting

into the system means we cannot do our job here. symbol, what would the taliban need to do in order for the us and the u. s. is western allies to have the confidence to free up these foreign reserves? what would the taliban need to do in order to show these countries that they can be trusted? and i think there are plenty of steps, but let me just kind of like spin the argument. i think the time to think about the conditionality is a what the next step that they can take to the the international community in support. i think of the time of that kind of conversation was in the plus 2 months, we had several of those around and a lot of the benchmarks and more decided they've been saying that not enough has been done. and i mean, we can, we can have a big discussion on what the thought about and cannot do. but right now when we talk about the dire situation, especially the next 23 months in of august on this conversation has to be shipped.

we have to focus beyond the dial him on to the people finest on. and as i think my other colleagues her in today, your program and others who have talked about it, the conversation has was shipped immediately to humanitarian support and human indian support. when we talk about humanitarian support, who people who are trained for their life and existence, these wanted to go to discussions about rights and women's rights and human rights, which are very important subjects and the demand should be engaged. and of course, that should be a future discussions on what they need to do, but we have to move beyond that right now. the was life. have to be a saved enough of on to have lost their life and the last radio, the 40, i think the od needless deaths they'd be facing. and needless trauma, good facing in the next 3 months. i think they need to focus on back and ship that conversation, whether the dive on a must be engaged on new dawning them into school isn't good for 2 schools and

find solution. the time is now simple, i can get to you before and it looked like you wanted to jump down to please go ahead. yeah, i could do a jumping. i know you were all talking about the practical things that can happen immediately and has made some really good point to that. but what i'd like to add something practically that can be done. the us treasury has talked about exemptions to banks and other than there is some kind of a letter that the issue that clarity has to be stronger right now that exemption or any kind of a certification that commotion banks, they're talking about law j b as well as you in agency beyond, beyond the bank and others, there has to be some form of some kind of clarity on the exemption that promotion banks, which i even smaller bags can get. who, which will allow commentary does, which i didn't want to import an export of things to happen normally, because that, i think one thing which will try to clear this block about importing,

especially as, as others have mentioned, understanding more to more than or to export. i mean, you would, you want to be more important than very small exports. so that will be the way because it is food enough within the regional countries, there is energy enough and then the more set up and then south lee, it plays a big, what does it did is there is enough, you know, a little bit of the over this energy supplies, whether it's food supplies to come into the market. it is basically the banking sector, which is the, the sanctioned on that, but building that shouldn't be with me. and given that can be clarified, made more strong, made more trust button. and that's kind of like, go back to that, that liquidity, liquidity in the market, can incompletely and some direct aid. and so, or do the mean public sector mysteries for which are good, which control,

regional, accurate as to what that threshold would be. what those conditions would be. the result is that there are, there's a lot of big. it is a lot of confusion on all sides and the preventing the cameras just move forward. we could have this conversation we had today kind of a month ago and would be the same point, more or less. seems like they do not break through. and some of it is just political will, i think the domestic politics, to stop them from doing the work here. they want to be appear to be trying to do work to maybe a few minutes equation. but let's go at the root of the problems and will be handling the better har conversations. okay, now the development are in the country. what happens on economy? what happens to that population? i think many people, many governments just see that as politically too sensitive or impractical to deal
