we began in yemen were hershey rebels and saudi led coalition have agreed to extend a truce by another 2 months. you in special envoy, has commended the warring parties saying the existing truce as already led to a drop in civilian deaths and an increase in fuel deliveries since april. the war has killed more than 850000 people and displaced 1000000 since it began in 2014. it's created one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. i'm an al hm. donny, as an independent research analyst on the yemen, he says there is cause for cautious optimism. the united nations special envoy has been deemed working very hard to sort of try to establish this. and i think there are certain things that are in the brewing now that makes this sort of ceasefire agreement a bit different than the ones in the past. and it's sort of as we've seen that, that the reopening of the sun airport. there's been also a lot of in direct talks between these and other foreign actors such as the united

states throughout this whole process in order to sort of bring them out of their i solution bubble of that makes any sense. but, but the question is that many is themselves, are still quite divided about who's representing them. and i think even though that the internationally recognized government or the who these may be, you know, coming to some sort of sci fi or now. but the differences between them are looming and growing stronger by the day. and it's, it's very possible that we may end up with a divided the m and in the future, or maybe the sci fi r. i had to prove to be just a time for these parties to sort of just build up their troops and we focus their efforts for the next. when fighting the world leading oil producers aren't discussing whether to increase their output following the european union's ban on russian oil imports. opec members and the opec plus partners last output last year after oil demand slumped because of the current of ours. pandemic equipment and net opec plus is reportedly working on compensating for drop in russian. oil output is

virtual meeting to see what exactly will come from it. whether, as i've just said, whether this idea of an increase, a considerable increase in daily output in the month of july and august would be sufficient to allay the markets and that sort of thing. that's really, i mean, what effect will any decision taken at this meeting likely have on oil production and prices? well, in the 1st instance, if these sources are correct, then clearly an a boost in production. more oil would be available in the months of july and august is interesting, noteworthy to see that the mood music's been suggesting that this might happen, or some degree of increased output might happen. and the price of a barrel of oil. whether that be brent crude or new york light has gone down in the course of the last few days,

which is suggestive that that's those in that's line of business. we're expecting something like this to happen. but the thing that really stands out here is that it's an increase. if it is good to go ahead, it's an increase from opec plus, remember, that includes the russian element here. and we know that here in europe, at least, there is very serious concern about trying to get itself off a dependency on russian oil. so lots of attention focusing on vienna is to say, and lots of questions will ensue from whatever decision decision is arrived at how it will be perceived in the opec plus countries. but then how also whatever decision is arrived that will be perceived here. in the european union absolutely will be keeping a close eye on development from that meeting to the moment. thanks very much on that. okay, well let's go back to our top story now and get more on that extension of the ceasefire in yemen with my at our tab, he's in the capital santa. so what we know about the terms of this renewal of the

it does feel that the whole country is joining in with these celebrations. but it's not the case. well, in many ways, i think every part of the country has been affected by this and it's a full day long display peasantry. however, i'm speaking for brighton and brighton has always been a little bit out to step with the rest of the country. i kind of class, they can, the types of celebrations that you see here. definitely people are happy about having to day bank holidays. have extended opening hours, but you see a lot of people on the, on the beaches. i'm not sure how many people are waiting flags. having said that, the will be, can hear their all speak parties in the streets for her rights and, and i think all over the country, it is an incredible moment where people have come together. it's side a moment of pride and unity to this country where it isn't that, i mean, does it show that the royal family, the monarchy as an institution, has
4:22 pm
a huge amount of support throughout the u. k. well, i definitely that between have you man, support. i mean, also constantly showing that her support is topping 70 percent, but while her popularity is high, the support for the monarchy is waning and it will be in the u. k. and destiny in the commonwealth. and, and we saw that, i think, barbados earlier this year was a country that decided to remove her as the head of state. and when prince william and, and take when to jamaica or protests about colonization, et cetera. so i think there is a question about whether the monarchy has a succession program and some people do question about whether she will be the last one. she is an extraordinary woman, isn't she? she must be one the most. if not the most famous in the world, yet she has this extraordinary ability to have the stiff upper lip and to maintain the status as an even in the maze. sort of difficult of times. how valuable
4:23 pm
a role model do you think she is in this tiny little over sharing that we have on social media now? i mean, i think there are various things you say that it's stabilizing influence that she's had a very few constants in international politics. national affairs, but she has been one of those constants. and i mean, even though i was with a republican friend this morning watching the pageantry from london. and they turned to me and they said to me, looking at the crowd saying this country will never be republic. so this doesn't even a sense that, that her way of holding the country together. and i think in terms of cry, this is what we saw during the pandemic recently when she came on t v and said we'll meet again and it was a very important unifying moment. so i think, yeah, she has that by example. and, and i think there's a very great amount of admiration and days, 7 great speech scene. thanks very much taken time to join us that from brighton.

world's leading oil producers are considering increasing the output following the used ban on russian oil imports. the working on filling a drop in russian production as a result of western sanctions. often moscow invaded ukraine. let's get more on this with andrew lip. how he's a president at napa oil associates and joins us via skype from houston. thanks very much for taking the time to be with us. what would be the impact of increased oil output? well, i think the market is fully expecting that opec is going to stick with the previous great plan of raising out foot by $430000.00 barrels a day. now we've seen that the well market is really unchanged as we see what the oil market is looking for is for the opec plus members who are already short of their target by $2000000.00 barrels a day to have
4:31 pm
a significant increase can make up. that shortfall, which can really practically speaking only be made up by increase production from saudi arabia the emirates in kuwait. will this have a knock on effect of lowering energy prices and relieving the pressure on the market? i think if they just stick to their agreement, the answer is no. the market really wind opec plus to make up the shortfall that we're seeing from russia, libya nigeria and gold, which really means that we need to see an increase of an additional 1000000 barrels . a day or so, there were reports of russia potentially being suspended from opec plus production quotas. why did they not do that, and what would it have been if they did? well, i think if they did that would have provided the cover or saudi arabia and the others to increase their production above their individual country quoted because they,
4:32 pm
they would have no longer to worry about rushing interest. on the other hand, rush of course would not want to see this happen because they feel that the as a producing come country, they're on a par with saudi arabia. and they don't want to see more well, enter the market. they like the high prices to increase their revenue. what impact have the oil sanctions on russia actually had? what we're seeing it in a number of areas. first of all, actual production is down by a 1000000 barrels a day. the 2nd area is that russia has lost customers, and as a result, more oil is going into storage, whether it's on shore or in oil tankers. and the 3rd impact that we're seeing is that russian refining capacity has been shut down as they've lost the man both domestically and internationally. there's a lot of tools because, you know,
4:33 pm
when you're talking about pumping more oil to, to fill the gap, there comes a lot of criticism doesn't specially from environmental circles as we're looking at this as of environmental crisis. why we're still resorting to pumping oil and not instead turning to more renewable energy. well, the reason to fall, 1st of all, pumping more oil is something that's available today. when we look at renewable fuels, it's slow progress to bring on or whether it's when. busy solar ethanol or bio diesel. and in many cases, ethanol and biodiesel are more expensive than fossil fuels. and right now what you're seeing is government around the world are worried about high prices of both food and energy for the consumer. and that's really taking a precedent as far as the environmental matters that are really longer term
