ah, republicans on track to take control of the us house of representatives in the most consequential mid term elections in years. the rates for the senate remains tight between republicans and democrats, as polls closed in most states. ah, added arm. nora kyle, this is al jazeera live from dough ha, also coming up. oh celebrations. as is me, allows several migrants rescued in the mediterranean to disembark, but another ship is denied. pause and thousands on the democratic republic of congo called to join the fight against m. 23 rebels.

thought to months of anticipation. the u. s. 2022 midterm elections aren't nearly complete. tens of millions of americans have cost their ballots. and one of the most consequential boats and yes, hauling stations are closed all across the country at stake. all control of congress and president jo biden's legislative agenda on sir is rosalind jordan reports 1st boots in the us, mid term elections are being counted. they're turning point for control of congress and president jo biden's agenda in the next 2 years. voters say the country is in serious trouble. oh, think owner rash, inflation and crime, you know, which huge to choose to jerome are gonna get worse or to make a change or whole voting system is going to be on the line here. if we don't win the governorship, for instance, and if we don't have the least summit majority and lose in the senate. i mean,
9:03 am
it's so this is critical. after republican spent months suggesting democrats were trying to steal the election, the justice department deployed lawyers to more than 60 cities to insure there weren't any problems counting the vote. machine problems caused delays and arizona's largest county, but a judge reject it. republicans bid to extend voting hours. meantime, joe biden campaigns were democrats hoping they could help him boost his economic policies and his likely reelection campaign to de refresh the inflection point. one of those moments comes on every 3 or 4 generations. we know in our bones or mockers is at risk and we know that this is your moment to defend it. but democrats hopes died early in florida, where republicans now control all of the top state wide seats. we will never ever surrender to the woke bob horta as well. oh,
9:04 am
or country flounders, due to failed leadership in washington. florida is on the right track. former president donald trump promised to take credit for any g o. p victories. and on tuesday night, he did just that, no wonder what biden would do right now, but we, it's likely elections. officials will need days to confirm results in several key states, such as georgia, pennsylvania, nevada, and ohio, rosalind jordan al jazeera, i can well, let's take a look at how the races have been shaping up so far. this is what the senate's looking like at the moment. $47.00 seats to the democrats, $46.00 to the republicans. it's been close all night. that showing no signs of changing the republican theed 51 to take control away from the democrats. democrats
9:05 am
just looking for 50 because they have the tiebreaker with vice president carmella harris as zoom in and that look tickly at pennsylvania. it's one of the key battleground states. it is too close to call with 83 percent of votes counted. we've got the 2 candidates, pretty much neck and neck. we've got john feldman inching ahead slightly but certainly not enough to take that crucial 50 percent of the vote. so let's go now to arizona. that's another race that's too close to call. any 50 percent of the ballots? have been counted so far. mark and he's been ahead all night. he's still staying there, but a lot can change with those other half of the votes being counted as grove announcer, georgia. another key key result there 96 percent of the votes have been counted nearly all of them. very, very close to raphael war. not warnock hot inching ahead there. again,
9:06 am
not quite reaching the 50 percent mark he needs to, or one of them need to to avoid a run off in december. and if that happens, we will find out who controls the senate for a good few weeks yet, but not over yet. still a few more votes to go. raphael warnock might reach that 50 percent chance. let's go to nevada. this is the republicans best hope of picking up a seat in the west, but because he catherine cortez massa. she's pushing ahead with 54 point. 07 percent of the vote. certainly 3735 percent of the votes counted those a lot can happen that still, wisconsin, another race that is too close to call and 91 percent of those votes have been counted. it is slightly leading republican towards the incumbent, ron johnson. montela barnes has been chasing him all night. let's look at the big, broad map of the united states. now, nearly all those states that had races,
9:07 am
$3635.00 of them being colored and now red or blue. still some stout standing ones that are too close to call ones that were keeping a very close eye on who just mentioned pennsylvania, georgia, wisconsin, arizona, and nevada, also usa, then they're still not closed it polls or started counting closes counting. let's zoom in now. we've got 36 of those states voting for governor. little earlier, we had stacy evans giving her concession speech. she was defeated for a 2nd time by brian camp they in georgia. he took a convincing lead there, new york governor. now this was a surprisingly competitive race in a deep blue area. kathy hoko did manage to keep hold of her seat 5252.92 percent of that. she got boss. she had
9:08 am
a very close challenge from li zeldin. the publicans really pushing really hammering her on perceived high rates of crime, the public, the democrats really struggling to convince voters. otherwise, let's take a look at the house of representatives. now this is the big horseshoe. been keeping a close eye on it all night. all 400, a nice 3 seats they're up for grabs. the magic number is $218.00 republicans look to be inching towards that democrats trailing somewhat, but still a lot can happen. it has been projected for quite a while. now. the republicans will, is slim majority in the house, certainly not the red wave that was at some point projected before the summer as go live. now seal alan fair say he's and capitol hill. he has been keeping a closer eye on all of these house races. alan, what are the stand out results for you?
9:09 am
well, i've been in touch with someone who's on the republican party if there was meant to be a big celebration. of course they would expect, and kevin mccarthy, the man who is the leader of the republicans in the house to make a speech. he expected to make it somewhere around 11 o'clock this evening trying to catch the end of prime time on us tv at. but the results are so close and so tight that he's not been able to make that speech yet, and it's not sure when he will actually come out to speak. he of course, if the republicans win and one well would be in prime position to be speaker. the suggestion is that the majority shrinks. so does kevin mccarthy's chances of becoming speaker. they may well be others who want to do the job, thinking that he's failed to capitalize on high inflation and high fuel prices and a concern about crime across the united states. we knew that some of the results in virginia could be key to give us an idea on whether or not there was going to be their shred wave. but the democrats managed to hold on to 2 of the 3 seats that had
9:10 am
been targeted very much by republicans. and in fact, i think one of the biggest shocks was in ohio, where ged vance, one, the state, he is going to be the new senator. but the last i republican congressman there, he lost his seat and so that was actually quite surprising and says how tight the sri says at one result is come in in the last hour or so. nancy pelosi, there's a name. you'll recognize that the cotton speaker of the house, she won her seat in california. that was always going to be the case. but republicans think they're still going to get a majority, but not as big as they were predicting sal. and if we're looking at the results as they stand, let's look at the big picture for a name, and because what are the next 10 years going to be like from the biden administration now? well, there's going to be a lot of in fighting in the republican party to start with if the majorities don't work out. and it, depending what happens in the senate race and georgia,
9:11 am
they don't take the senate. it's been a great night for ron de santis who is the florida governor. he has turned in florida from a swing state to a solidly republican state. i and he's done so by winning very, very big in his, his race to become governor. and donald trump, a lot of his candidates that he back haven't done as well as expected. and so he is going to announce, we believe that his intention to run for the presidency in 2024. there may be people putting his hand on his shoulder saying, you can't do this. i suspect he will go ahead and do it because he thinks it protects them from any possible criminal prosecution for the numinous investigations that are ongoing. but as far as joe biden is concerned, if he loses the house ill, make things heart. if he keeps hold of the senate, it will make them as difficult. and he still might be able to get some legislation through. but those who are going to arrive in the house will suddenly realize that
9:12 am
perhaps trump ism isn't the way, and they can't always just object to job by him because he's a democrat and he's joe biden. so it's going to be an interesting couple of years. joe biden's agenda might, might struggle a bit, but we'll have to see how it play please. i, when we get the final numbers, which as you say, could be some time yet. okay. allen, thanks very much. has been a long night at still going on for the moment. thank you. well, in georgia, rafael warnock and republican challenger, herschel walker, are still locked in a tight race. the state determined which party controlled senate nearly 2 years ago, and it could do so again in these mid term elections as good life to john hanjin. he's in atlanta, georgia. done any indication of the results for these 2 men? yes. well, it's been a white knuckle night for herschel walker and rob they are worn out, but it still remains too close to call for a long time. now they've been each covering near 49 percent of the boat,
9:13 am
but not crossing that 50 percent. that either of them would need to avoid to run off there, isn't it libertarian? chase oliver, he's getting about 2 percentage points and that would be enough to put either of the other candidates over if they were to get that. but they're not doing so it remains very close to call and fewer and fewer votes to counter less. one of them pull your rabbit out of a hat in the coming hours. they're going to have more run on december 8th. we'll see what happens with that range, but it was a very different story. in the governor's raised in georgia, there in the republican brian camp easily defeated stacy have rooms the democrats in a repeat of their 2018 mantra. so tauriel, electron towels decisive here in the center, raising it remains close to call i okay on that. thanks very much. good to hear music still going strong. there are doing you again, i'm sure and
9:14 am
a while. let's go live now to get a honda he's done by 1st in pittsburgh, pennsylvania. that is yet another race that's proving too close to coal. it is, but things are moving very fast here in pennsylvania at this hour. it is too close to call. it's 88 percent of the vote in federal min with 49 percent. oz, the republican with 48 percent has been about 4700000 ballots. cas and better men has a lead of about 62000 votes. that shows you how close this election is right now. the associated press has not called this race, yet. there is not been a winner declared by the that news agency that we follow closely. however, fetter men himself has tweeted, it's official. i will be the next senator from pennsylvania. so fedor min is now
9:15 am
coming out himself and indicating and signaling that he thinks he will win this race. and it appears that the fetter men, a campaign, a watch party, it's here in pittsburgh. there is some activity happening there. we might see federal men come out to the podium and speak momentarily. we'll be watching that very. busy closely but to recap this race for the senate here is critical race that all eyes are on we're watching so closely to close to call but 88 percent in. busy very close about 62000 votes. it separates the democratic john fetter men with the republican mit, mit, oz. and okay, again, thanks very much. hooping is the v that from pennsylvania, they're in pheasants headquarters. they're saying plenty of people silently waving
9:16 am
fassman flags waiting for him to come out to speak. when he does, we'll come back to it and bring you that faint from john, fasten and that in pennsylvania. well, the race from wisconsin is also proving to be a tight one. hydro castro has more final result in the wisconsin senate. race probably won't come until wednesday morning, as the state continues to count male in ballots. yet this is another critical race to determine which party controls the us senate and come and us senator ron johnson and democratic challenger. mandela barnes remain locked in a near tie here in wisconsin, separated by fewer than 100000 votes. johnson is a trump endorse election deny, or barnes is the current lieutenant governor and would be the 1st black senator to represent wisconsin if he went out the governor's race in the state as tight as well between the democratic incumbent. tony evers and republican challenger tim

a winning speech broome gentleman festivals declares himself the winner just to note that a p as still not called it, but that was john freshman's exception speech for winning the senate seat. he's flip that in at pennsylvania, that was such a close race. we really was a remarkable when it wasn't, it gave a man who spent much of his campaign recovering from a stroke now claiming to win the senate seat and a very close race. it's been a remarkable raise, something that we really haven't seen in a senate race for a very long time. john fedor, men just 6 months ago, had a stroke and had to have a pace maker put in his heart. he almost died and he was off the campaign trail for months in didn't have any sort of campaign rallies ah,
9:27 am
was confined to his home for many, many months. and he has actually a hard time, a speaking sometimes after this stroke. i says sometimes hard times, articulating his words at times and he has clearly declared himself the winner of this race. you saw there in that speech and that from that raucous crowd. there it is. campaign watch party, not too far for where i'm at now. in pittsburgh, i, he clearly thanked all of his supporters and clearly feels that he has won this senate race. but as you correctly pointed out, it has not been officially called yet by the associated press. we have not heard from his republican opponent, mc med, oz. there is no indication, at least at this hour, that oz is planning to concede or has conceded. where did things actually stand in this race? it is very tight. it's about 88 percent of the vote is in better men with 49
9:28 am
percent. oz, with 48 percent, there's been about 4700000 balance that have been counted and fed her men at this hour has about a 62000 boat lead over oz. clearly fetter men and his advisors look at those numbers that i just read there. and they say we've got this in the bag. and that's why they clearly sent out better men to give this victory speech. but it's again important to point out that officially this race has not been called yet. and his opponent oz has not yet considered either. also important to point out that as this evening was progressing better, many held as tiny lead throughout the evening. and he appeared to be over performing in many democratic leaning counties, getting more votes in what biden got just 2 years ago. and so that's why i think
9:29 am
you saw this real momentum as the night went on and why the federal campaign is so confident to come out and declare victory at this hour, at this hour being 1 30 in the morning on wednesday morning here in pennsylvania. absolutely, it has been a long night, but certainly pretty good. one for democrats. and let's go now to mike hannah because he's at the white house and he does more about the issues that are in forming the midterm elections traditionally and every midterm. yes, it is a referendum on the administration and what the administration has achieved. now, certainly the biden administration has had an up and down year at the beginning of this year. president biden's opinion ratings were exceedingly low, sinking in the face of increasing prices, increasing gas shortages, increasing prices of gas, soft rentals of accommodation, rising interest rates. and certainly at that particular stage, the republicans were thinking they are going to take it all in these midterm
9:30 am
elections. but then there was something of a come back by the administration. they succeeded in parsing some exceedingly significant legislation. our president biden and his advisors managed to push back the price of gas, which dropped a significantly so they did pull it back to a certain degree. but the question is whether the people of america think that and that is what the results are going to show. ah, this is out 0. these are the top stories. millions of americans have been casting their ballots. and one of the most consequential mid term elections in years falling stations are closed now across the country. at stake as control of congress and president jo biden's, legislative agenda. republicans are close to re taking control of the house while
