dictates from anyone regarding it security, but to quarrel with half the world just so that ben gifford, will spend 13 minutes on the temple mount is political irresponsibility, and an incredible weakness of netanyahu in front of his ministers. so let's take a look. what makes ben give us intrusion into the compound, say controversial. as we mentioned, it is the 3rd holiest site from muslims, while use call it a temple mount rivera. it is a possible site where a final temple will be built. they pray at the western wool and any muslims are allowed to pray in the most compound, but many palestinians fear the sights. wisdom identity is under threat by ultra right wing jewish groups increasingly intruding into the site to pray illegally. palestinian groups in garza have spoken out about when give us intrusion into the most compound. that's how i deal with how wanna been a we consider this cowardly attempt by been given a dangerous escalation and approval cation of the palestinians and the arab and

it's not gonna happen to day. so 1st of all, fully coordinated with nut ano, 2nd of all, yes, banga, bell extremist, but also to caution not to make this too exclusively about the person of bengal beer. he is a particular brand of extremism, but let's see the thread of continuity here. and the threat of coordination across the israeli political system. let's remember it was just over 2 decades ago that sharon irish sharon then the opposition leader did a visit to our luxor that led to a major outbreak of several years of violence. let's not forget that this time around. not only was this coordinated with latin, yahoo! but this is probably going to be the modus operandi of the new government, the game of one upsmanship of hard line arisen each time they undertake a provocation. and it is not met with a serious response. they will say, you see those who caution and say, be scared,
6:08 pm
don't do this when we assert what they will in jewish rights, we're proving them wrong. so this will be a spiral, i think. and crucially, it plays into nut and yahoo's hands cuz he will turn round to the international community and say, i'm the responsible guy. i'm the safe pair of hands work with me. and we can get through this next period on the palestinian teenagers been killed during an israeli raid near bethlehem in the occupied west bank. a palestinian health ministry says 15 year old adam i had was shot dead by israeli forces is ready. military says it shot someone involved in what it called violent confrontations with its soldiers. israel also made don rage on palestinian homes and talker m daneen and cover for luke. on choose day lou.

now the funeral procession for brazilian football legend pallet's underway in the southern city of santos. large crowds of gathered on the streets of the city where he began his career. he died on thursday, the age rated to be buried near the santos football club. i enjoy now by our sports presenter journalist for more colors. legendary pupil crit, there will be no one else, like pele, say the fans, and the about just says it old. or yes, absolutely. she say, nick, that the pictures there do side all here. he was the fust big global superstar of football really spearheaded the beautiful game as it is, is known to snap sleep global icon. you say brazil. what's one of the 1st things that come into your head pallet? well, it certainly is for me, and i'm sure for many people all around the world, an icon on the pitch. i mean, we just got to look at and what he did at the 1970 world cup. and in a he a score he was the player of the tournament for goals and is one minus $13.00 wild cops. i mean, that is an incredible feat which probably saw in our lifetimes will probably ever
6:10 pm
be achieved again, maybe kenyan and buffet with france might be in with a shout. but yeah, he just an incredible, incredible football player. we had somebody, one of the fancy earlier the man is dead, but palo himself is, is immortal. a you kind of saw that hit during the world cup because he was very poorly while the world cup was going on. but there were posters and placards all over catherine. yes it is interesting, isn't it? because you know, he retired from playing over 40 years ago, but we will still know who he is. the younger generation year children out there in the palais brazil, as everybody knows who he, pa is. and i suppose you could say the fact he lived out his last few weeks during the world cup was in a way appropriate because he could see that that global outpouring of love, there was, well just hearing katara, the arm at the dr. talk one day and a projection of him was one of the buildings that it was saying get, well, seem to hell. i only had messages saying get well seed and just is outpouring of love from football and fans. and i guess it was quite facing that he got to see
6:11 pm
that final outpouring of love towards him. it's will. it's the end of his life. i'm at 70 underway right now in santos, in the town where he made his name. but what sort of mom was he a and just how much of an important role did he play for football for his country and for sports or hope while he's kind of university recognized as, as a very humble, humble man. and in the loss, in our last these are we actually spoke to the director of the appellate netflix documentary and he said he was warm. he was giving, he was generous. he took fame in his, in his stride. he was a famous in brazil from the tender age of 15. i mean, not many people at the age of 15 could cope with those levels of fame, a k. i know he didn't have his social media to deal with like today's dollars day, which obviously complicates matters and makes fame that, that bit more tricky a bit. again, this same direct to said he couldn't find anybody to speak negatively about him. i think that says a lot, isn't it about, you know, this man,
6:12 pm
he faced opposition plasm. some of the english plaza from the sixty's they, they said he was quite unique in the fact that he was friends with some of them. and if you can't really imagine, like rinaldo being friends of messy, i was different like that he, he was friends with his rivals as well as his teammates. and yet everybody just had this very unassuming, yeah, absolutely. when you consider all that, he achieved his or to remain that ground. 8, it is quite something is quite astound. here you go with for you very well. did me . i mean he was also we have to remember is also the 1st real commercial face of football. was new. yeah, he was actually there that, that is a very true he m here paid an abscess for things such as a petrol toothpaste, bicycle site. and that was the 1st time you kind of seen football players do that was so used to nowadays aren't we seeing a play as advertising things? but yeah, he was so one of the, one of the fust to do that. and i mean, it's just it another, another thing about police which i find so interesting is,
6:13 pm
apart from his briefs by playing in new york, he was essentially a one club monsanto's. he had this deep love and passion, which is obviously reciprocated. we can see in these pictures of the procession and you don't get in a many, many players who are a one club men, couple that stick in my mind. steven jour livable pops. tany adams, arsenault. and he did, of course, have office from the so called big european clubs, but he, he never strayed from santos, out of love and lote he said in the past, it was a profession filled with love. now it's just a profession indeed. and we look at the police coughing and profession around the city. a sense of jonathan's, where most people say religion. yeah. and so now david, troy hone is director of the netflix documentary that jim was talking about in school caused pillow. and he says it was remarkable experience to me to work with it, celebrated prayer river, 18 month here, pallet overseas sort of become a little bit more reclusive, from fame in the, in the last few years he did very, very few interviews. ah. and we were,
6:14 pm
by the only people who manage to spend some serious amounts of time with him. ah, and to try and as, as he said before, this for a private individual despite his level of fame. and to try and pill off some of those masks. but he was very, very giving, with his time very warm, it always turn up late. ah, but he as soon as he did turn up, he could see him flick a switch, he was the king, and he hated silence his will, was to chatting and joking, and wanted to include every body armor was happy to give countless autographs. after every time we filmed with him and we spent the best part of 18 months, ah, filming with him not continuously but every now and then. ah, but yeah, he and he was just everything you'd expect him to be warm, giving generous, and very professional too. i think there was a great sense of humility, but also this great sense of pride. he really loved brazil. 2 things he loved son santos, and brazil. ah. and he was very, very proud to have traveled the world with both. ah,
6:15 pm
and who as we talked about earlier and to have put brazil on the map through his footballing actions. and that was both with, with club and with country. but he was very, very proud of santos. he would if there was santos paraphernalia all around his house. any time someone mentioned santo's, head start cheering and going santa's football club. the greatest team in the world . peggy, while still head on these are including could the united states help resolve germany's energy crisis as it tries to scale back its reliance on russia. he up the pace of life in china is more restriction to place on those. looking to leave the country gospel coming up to more schools to start from leaf or well come on, caught side and be a game details. come up with jim. ah la. then later on tuesday, republicans in the united states will take control of the house of representatives . they not only won a majority in november's mid term elections,
6:16 pm
but fail to take the senate. and those results are having an impact on who the next speaker of the house might be. republican favorite, kevin mccarthy has been struggling to get enough votes protocol. he reports now from washington. it's not been a question for 100 years, not since 1923. when it took 9 rounds of voting to elect frederick gillett as speaker of the house of representatives, please raise your ryan ann with your every time since it's been decided on the 1st vote. but 2023 is possibly going to be very different. the presumptive speaker, kevin mccarthy has been lobbying his fellow republicans since the midterm election . they still seem sure to vote with their speaker then we will get along. there will be 222 republican sworn in mccarthy needs 218 of them to vote for him to become speaker 5, on the far right have already said they will never vote for him. so mccarthy has
6:17 pm
made some concessions, promising to change the rules, so just 5 representatives can call for a vote to remove him from leadership. right now, it would take a majority of republicans. he's also pledged to create committees to investigate the justice department over it's investigation of former president, donald trump, and a committee focused on competing with china. but 7 additional republicans released a letter saying it's still not enough. once republicans do like the speaker, it seems unlikely they'll be able to pass significant legislation because democrats control the senate and the white house. what they can do though is try to abstract presidential binds agenda and launch investigations. i think they are fine with being able to do more oversight and want, you know, the white house to answer questions about afghanistan. ah, i want to talk about corona virus where they come from. did the government have anything to do with it? much of the agenda will depend on who is handed the gap. ah,
6:18 pm
as of now, no one seemed sure that it will be kevin mccarthy. paddock lane al jazeera washington. let's take this on with our white house froze when it can be, how can joints not from washington, dc and, and kimberly the issue of the house speaker here is the thing, isn't it said presenting something of a challenge to the usual procedures that would be followed yeah, and given the fact that it is a co equal branch of the government, in other words, the what happens in the legislature or the congress does affect the white house. it's being watched very closely here at the white house. so in about 2 hours time, we know that there will be the 1st vote taken place for house speaker. and if that is not a very clear majority for kevin mccarthy, then what we and we expect that there won't be that clear majority, that he is sure the votes he needs to become. how speaker that process could
6:19 pm
continue to play out even dozens of times throughout the day. and it could even adjourn at the end of the day with no house speaker. and that means that no business will be conducted in till a house speaker is selected. and so what we know historically and patty talked about this a little bit. her report is that this is not happened very often in u. s. history. in fact, if this process continues for some time, eventually there will be invoked to process known as plurality, where eventually majority will finally select a speaker. and it hasn't happened since about 949 or 956, where eventually a majority of people pick the house speaker. but again, that took the process of a 129 ballots before they got to that point. so hopefully it won't take that long, but we do know that there is going to be
6:20 pm
a little bit of drama before we get to eventually selecting a house speaker. right. and whenever it is resolved, will actually make any difference of the way things will pan out for the remainder of this administration. as far as the house representatives is concerned in to play with the administration. well, what this signals is that this is going to be messy and it may sort of trickle on to the white house, and that's not a good sign for joe biden to his legislative agenda. because what this means is, this is a republican house, a controlled house that is ready for a fight. and right now is amongst themselves. there are 5, hold out republicans who are trying to make things difficult within the party, but soon they'll set their sights on the white house and joe biden. and so that means investigations of the president as stalling his legislative agenda. but it also could mean trouble for the president and his son hunter biden, who has had some questions about his business conduct the relationship between
6:21 pm
ukraine, china, and even whether or not the president conducted some of this business with his son . and whether any of this happened during the campaign, whether it happened inside the white house, all of this is something that the house controlled republican committees could now be looking into. it doesn't mean that the president is going to be able to carry on any of the things he would like to be moving forward in terms of things he would like to accomplish with respect to climate change or health care or any of the other things that he campaigned on, so the white house was watching this very carefully, knowing that this could mean a bit of difficulty for his legislative agenda for the remainder of his term. or i could believe that maybe we'll keep it on it, is that things unfold to the coming of speech or later? thanks a lot. now, opening arguments to be at begun in the trial of enrique tabio, the former leader of the far right, u. s. group the proud boys,
6:22 pm
the trial concerns involvement in the january 2021 attack on the u. s. capital atoria and his co defendant, sir charged with seditious conspiracy, and other counts relating to the attack. 2 years ago, it led to a delay in the certification of president jo biden's election victory. many leaders in the german government have campaigned for an end to fossil fuels and atomic energy, but those goals have been put on hold as an energy crisis intensifies summoner arguing, continued use of nuclear power. and fossil fuels are the only way to solve it. dominant cane has this 2022 was the year when coal was king, had one point it was providing more than a 3rd of all. germany's energy with the war in ukraine, taking russian hydrocarbons off the market. coal from elsewhere became the easiest go to energy source. power stations were reactivated to burnett liquefied natural gas or l. n. g was another watchword,

new terminals were built on the north sea coast to accommodate supertankers carrying it, and a long term deal to acquire $2000000.00 tons of contrary and n g each year was signed. but in the short analysts say ministers will have to adapt their green agenda. they will do more of what they have done already. foster additional energy supplies make sure they can come in also through germany on g terminals. and a huge step forward will be to reduce demand further. a lot needs to be done in household still because building needs to be need ventilated. heating systems need to be changed to can't do all of this in 2023, but it needs to start now. the other metaphorical elephant in the room is nuclear. 3 reactors, which would you to go off stream permanently, have been temporarily camped in operation. this provides around 6 percent of the energy germany uses annually, but that's as far as the green party and government is prepared to go on to nuclear
6:24 pm
sentiment is so entrenched in germany in large parts of the population that it's going to be relatively hard to, to really, especially for the greens, if they want to keep their credibility to, to go on to, to prolong nuclear power indefinitely. maybe for a few more months, maybe for a year. but i don't think in the long runs in germany, nuclear power will have any future. but that sort of view is not shared by many in the german parliament who believe nuclear energy has a clear role to play. and for some time yet, mid anim, stick with the dead just by extending the life of the remaining 3 nuclear power plants, we ultimately achieve ball to missile. instead, we need continued operation until at least the end of 2024. that is what we are proposing now, and we need a new feel for them. and to contemplate, such a move is painful for many in the current governments. most of them have spent their entire lives campaigning against fossil fuels and nuclear power. and yet, this is where the decades of deepening dependence on russian energy has brought
6:25 pm
them. environmentalism may provide fire in their bellies, but it seems unlikely to provide much heat and light in millions of homes. this winter dominant cane al jazeera berlin. while the 1st shipment of liquefied natural gas from the united states has now arrived in germany, the vessel called the maria energy is loaded with around 170000 cubic meters of energy. and that's enough to power around $50000.00 german homes for year. before the war and ukraine, russia supplied more than half of germany's natural gas demand. let's explore this further. we can speak to thomas at donal who's in energy and listen metra at the high school of governance and joins us on skype from berlin thomas. so the us living up to its promise to supply l n g. how crucial is the supply? well, thanks for having me today. um, it's absolutely crucial to europe. we're in the midst of a, you know,
6:26 pm
this is another front of the war that everybody knows about, the hot war ukraine. hooton's not doing very well there. his military. so he's counting on the energy war with europe, especially by cutting off and restricting the natural gas to europe to cause economic difficulties. and it is causing economic difficulties to cause the you the alliance and support of ukraine to split. and so far they fade strong and they're doing quite well the united states, as you mentioned, fighting promise last year to send an extra $15000000.00. 15000, i'm sorry to send a lot of extra l n g last year. and he did the same thing. this year some people sort of made fun of it. where is he going to find it? but in both cases it came from the united states quicker and sooner than anybody expected. so a lot of the russian guess is the made up for by l. n g from the united states. how much does this reduce europe and germany's reliance on gas for russia?
6:27 pm
well, in the short term, it doesn't like the terminal that's opened. well, it opened actually a week or 2 ago, but that's receiving the natural good. the l n. g from the united states to the, from the colors to pass on the texas border on that one when it's at full tilt should provide about 10000000000 cubic meters a day. there's other plans that will provide that are coming online soon. that will provide 5 to 7000000 cubic meters a day over the next 2 to 3 years. now each one of the north stream, one pipeline, but the north stream, one pipeline was 55000000 cubic meters a day directly from russia. there was also another pipeline across poland and bell ruth into germany in europe. and that was about 30000000 cubic meters a day. the europa jamar pipeline. and there is about $40000000.00 that were coming before the 1000000000 the year that we're coming across ukraine, which is way down to almost nothing. so these terminals by themselves are not going
6:28 pm
to make it up. it's crucial to germany to get this. but all the other european countries are also bringing in el, and gee, they're bringing pipeline, guess more from north africa. they're working on that from algeria and other countries. and norway. and it's going to be til 2026 or 2027. so they can completely replace the rushing, right, especially from us and considering sources. interesting. i little you mentioned that the surprise me how quit fits has happened because when it was 1st announced, there was a great deal of doubts about europe being able to put the bas, see the necessary infrastructure in place to receive the l n g? yes, yes, yes. on the one hand, the germans have built on the 1st couple stations, you know, they would normally take about 4 or 5 years. they get it in about 5 months. so what, you know, when the german economy wants to do something, industry, they can get it done. they shouldn't relied a russian gas for all these years. but this, they got done rather fast. so germany bill, these terminals, i think rather fast. and it's just that real live it actually,
6:29 pm
you're right at 1st. there is this limit of taking it in. but as we go on over the next few years, the real limit is there's not enough in the world to bring in even no matter how much you build here, to receive it. the united states and katara both are having huge expansions and they're the main sources that will come in the future, but it'll be 2026, mid 2026 or 2027 before those really get on line. and the whole gas market can come down and hopefully prices get back to normal. and russia is completely replaced in europe. so that's going to take a while and, and, but it's going ahead full til or in terms will even that, thanks very much data for your analysis. it's almost donald speaking, just making but celeste ronald 0 memorials held in paris for because fatigue killed in type last month. plus we're paying big bucks for babies with the government now offering incentives to young parents. we don't support coming up with german,

where he started his career. monica yankee of john just now live from santos. monica gives a sense of what's happening on this important day is that a legend is to be laid to rest. yes. all were standing right in front of the vertical cemetery behind me where bellaire will be buried. it will be a private ceremony for the family. ah, the funeral procession is still going through the streets of santos, followed by 230000 fans than people that are accompanying it. it already passed the house of bellairs, mother who turned 100 years old last november and its making its way here. this is actually very close to the santa stadium where the wake was held. the 24 hour were wake, where even our president was in nashville. lula silva attended this wake or earlier
6:35 pm
this morning. he was among the last people to see pen there. his body was embalmed and he was, are in saw inside the stadium. were thousands of people were going around just without being able to stop or going around, just to say their last goodbyes are 22, blair. so it's been a very very emotional day here in santos. indeed, very emotional. just how important a man was played for brazil and how much of a role did he play in that kind of shaping of, of the brazilian identity? well, he is. he died at 82 so many young brazilians never saw him play, but are his name became an adjective in brazil. when you want to say that someone is the best that he can be and something they'll say, oh, he's the belair of tennis, or he's the fed layer of basketball. it's just are,
6:36 pm
he's known to be the best because he had 3 world cops because he could play with either fort. he could even be a goalie if the case was necessary. also, he was, ah, a black man from a humble origins that made it to the top. he became an ambassador for our brazil and in many causes. ah, he made football popular also in the united states. we were talking earlier to one of his lookalikes. and this man was saw in orlando, ah, going over just a trip to orlando and he saw that all these americans were taking pictures of him. st. beller, bella. and he didn't know what this was about until he realized that they thought he was paulette. as of then he had been in a deep depression and as of the, as of then, his wife changed because he, because he became velez look alike going on. lots of tv shows. and he was also standing outside the stadium earlier before the funeral procession left. so belay also is,
6:37 pm
