thing, family and a caring flag she bravely lives, learns and chases her dreams as she finds her place in the world. oh, see me as i am a witness documentary on al jazeera. around 10 women are being murdered in mexico every day, almost always by men. an epidemic of gender based violence that threatens the spiral out of control. now specialists police squads run by women. a trying to reverse the trend and bring the perpetrators to justice. but can they overcome years of much or culture and in different, behind the scenes with the fem aside detected on a just zebra ah, growing anger in mexico as a video appears to show offices leaving men locked in
10:01 pm
a cell as a deadly far takes hold in a migrant detention center. ah . lauren taylor, this is al jazeera life from london, also coming up israel's prime minister rebuffs the u. s. president suggestion that he dropped his controversial judicial overhaul in a red disagreement between the 2 allies. you emberts to ask the world's top court to define countries obligations to combat climate change south korea, and the us hold their 1st large scale amphibious landing exercises in 5 years. north korea says they're rehearsing for an invasion. and elan mosque and other tech leaders cool for advanced artificial intelligence training to be suspended, saying it poses a threat to humanity. ah,
10:02 pm
ah, mexico's president who has promised to find those behind mondays fire to migrants detention center, which killed 38 people of his. i mean to growing anger over a video circulation on social media, which appears to show security footage from inside the sentence that was during the blaze, 3 uniform people can be seen walking past without trying to open the door of a lot. so holding several men to 30 believe ablaze was started by migrant who said font mattresses, after discovering they were being deported or something like that i can for you to all of those people who died. the guns could have opened the gates because there was only a few meters between the gate that separated them from the migration offices. they didn't open the gate, leaving them locked in the fire bonds and they didn't leave school. they didn't help them because they didn't feel like it. the gods treat you badly present under the manual lopez. even though it says those responsible for the fire will be
10:03 pm
brought to justice. he gave say, thinking there will be no impunity, those responsible for this painful tragedy will be identified. they will be held accountable and punished in accordance with the law. says no attempt to hide the facts or to protect any body. no human rights violations are allowed in our government. no. impunity is allowed from that man. we're wrapping his live in mexico city and none of that video really appears to have made people very angry. that certainly is the case. and the calls for accountability are only getting louder. in that video, you can clearly see the migrants on the other side of the bars as that fire begins to spread as the room begins to fill up with smoke. and at no point did the guards make any attempt in that video to open up the doors to make any sort of effort to
10:04 pm
allow the migrants trapped inside behind those bars, to exit the room and save their lives from that fire that ultimately claimed the lives of 38 people, 29 others who survived were taken to area hospitals in the city of you. that what is but again, the outrage now growing beyond the limits of mexico. we've heard from united nations secretary general antonio, who is, who is called for an investigation into what happened. i want to give you a sense of where we are right now, because we're outside of the offices of mexico's interior ministry. where just in the last few hours there, activists held a demonstration, protesting with their calling in human condition at these detention centers that are located in different parts of mexico. they've left posters with the names of the victims of the $38.00 victims of that fire. and even though president lopez over here, mexico is promised justice on this. people are really, really wanting accountability from the government and to explain to 2 views. you know, how it works with margaret, how come they were in these prisons? what stage were the in the process?
10:05 pm
well, there was, there was quite a bit of tension leading up to this already ensued out of what is in the last few weeks we've seen migrants rushing the border. what we've heard from activists here is that many of these migrants, there's constitutional questions here. there's lots of legal question that remain an answer that are really the burden of that is now falling on the government to answer is why. so many of these migrants had been waiting there beyond what was legally allowed for them to be held arbitrarily without quote, unquote, doing anything wrong other than migrating through through mexico. so there the, there really are still quite a few on answered questions regarding this case. but when we talk about the, the question in the migration phenomenon here in mexico, you know, we, we cover stories involving accidents with migrants falling off of the back of freight trucks. or, or dying in the hands of, of human smugglers. but this is certainly the deadliest case involving a migrant detention center that we've reported on in the time that i've been here
10:06 pm
in mexico, at least. and this is, you know, sort of central to the outrage here because president lopez over to the automated a central pillar of his immigration policy to have a more humane policy. and yet, in the last few years of his administration, we've seen more migrants being put in detention centers. we've seen these detention centers being used more in war by the government in the fact that these 38 men died while in the custody of the state. well, that really is what's fueling the outrage here in mexico right now. and europe. thank you very much indeed. ah, tensions arising between israel and its closest ally, the united states, as the prime minister benjamin netanyahu is controversial plans to overhaul the judiciary. ordering the biggest protest in the country's history, if a yahoo delayed the plan and a 2nd day of negotiations has been held with the opposition. president joe biden is
10:07 pm
urged him to walk away from the controversial plan that prompted a defined response from netanyahu. we said israel went out to international pressure, is natural, the u. s. lead democracy summit and he thinks a compromise with the opposition could be possible. israel and united says her occasion differences. but i want to assure you that the alliance between the world's greatest democracy and a strong, proud and independent democracy, israel and the heart of the middle east, is unshakable. nothing can change that doing since it is our senior political analyst now, and the sheriff is quite extraordinary through public spat. isn't it between noon at yahoo in biden? yes, i think it shocked her. nathaniel himself within. he didn't see it coming as it were. i think he was too arrogant and believed that his relationship with biden is so close that the american person wouldn't do that to him. but there's
10:08 pm
a gathering storm in washington and in america, in general. not just because administration is upset with the fact that nathan, he, i was doing what nathan, he, i was doing along with the whole number of fanatics and fascists in his coalition government. but because the american jewish leadership doesn't like what's happening in his way, don't like this fanatic all through orthodox coalition in israel, that doesn't even recognize the reform judaism. consider the conservative judaism that makes the majority of american jews. they don't recognize them as jewish. so american jewish committee is quite upset and now by those upset and so there's the rebuke of these really government. i mean one is his pause all or suspended there that the controversial plans and having discussions of the opposition to try and count the compromise. he seems to think he can come up with a compromise or i like is it there? it depends on the opposition. if the opposition is going to be deceived once again by nathan, you know, then it's possible. but if the opposition understands what's at stake and that they
10:09 pm
could box him in and now that they are supported by the united states and it's powerful american jewish community, then i think they have a room to keep squeezing him and squeezing him until he gives up completely his so called reform because really it's not much of a form. what he's trying to do is to get the legislative where it's sidelines are supreme court and limits the power of the judge, the judiciary, so that he and his cronies, tonisha sleep, any law or any kind that basically will keep him on top and keep him more like a, an autocrat than a democrat. so how likely is it you that use of i this because they still protest on going and, and there's a lot of pressures now. i think there's a lot of pressure. i think if the streets continues to put the pressure as i expect they should or would. and i think if there's more and more opposition, like the defense minister from within the could to start speaking up against
10:10 pm
nathanael, or he might actually end up losing it. his, his majority within the party itself because look, he kind of behaved arrogantly throughout and to what's every one, right. but now he sort of found his, her, you know, his match in those phonetic rogue elements around him. been viewed on smart rich, his finance and security ministers won't let it go. and the keep eating away at his authority. and the more they eat, the better is their appetite. so they continuously trying to get away and the is that they just thing is that they made him sign a document saying you go ahead big via and establish a national guard, which basically it's his racist little militia that he is going to use to crack down against the palestinians, not only shortly. gotcha, thank you very much. now in our nation has adopted a landmark resolution asking the world's top court to define the obligations of countries to combat climate change. it was backed by more than $130.00 countries.

i still can't believe that we've, we've gotten this far and it's, it's, it's a meant a lot of, you know, the determination that you have into the cement to, you know, when you moved by genuine content not only for the future, but the future of alterations shipped to the end of the meeting. the un secretary general told me it was a big victory, but un insiders say, even though this resolution passed by consensus, there are some major countries which have a problem with it. and they expect some national submissions to the international court of justice and an effort to narrow the eventual ruling of the judges. james bay's al jazeera, at the united nations. all new cars sold in the european union must be 0 emissions by 2035 under new law agreed by the 27 member countries. the target is designed to
