they are violating the law involved in broad daylight and, and, and nighttime, becoming a theme of this discussion with others that aren't really and for us to get to certain people. but yeah, that, so there's a super fact that it has all the money, it needs to run ads to put them on a bus. then there's a campaign operation which is supposed to be messaging. and look, there's only one candidate who's giving speeches. i thought just my opinions reporter covering the guy the speech he gave an iowa on friday, 10 minutes hard kit hard stop was the best eat articulated his message that i look at my record in florida. look at how much more effective i can be of donald trump without saying his name on the trail. he has been sort of rambling. he will get a side track. these i think is on day 10 of arguing with the vice president over florida education standards. and in the campaign where they were trying to do is with these messages which are referring to keep folks inside the campaign. we're trying to make viral videos that had kind of the tenor of the internet. they looked like for jan, it looked like the kind of things that you learned most could retweet that had you know, little little cartoons of sad,

depressed people becoming happy when they saw how, how ethic and cooled ronda santas was how he was making liberals cry. how he was making trans people angry. they were, they were coordinating with these videos. and once there was a blow back they, they've kind of threw a staffer who they said was great in them under the bus. they actually say, reporter is, they told reporters quietly they, they've agreed they didn't say it themselves. what we saw in these internal discussions that they really were trying to foam up from the runway and create real excitement for the santas by helping create some videos and then distributing them to a non student on with twitter account. so you'd log in, i told her it looked like proud elephant us just found this amazing thing that makes the safest look. awesome. and in some cases, with his hands campaigned creating it and say, hey, you can check this out and read, read it for us. what did do for the campaign, basically nothing apart from the negative stories. they don't, but they were trying to recreate some of this organic magic that the down trump had in 2016 when he so fresh and interesting to her. a lot of republican voters that they would share images a hand that you're his best insults. looking at him talking on these people at the

debate, they were trying to do that in organically for the, for the santas. and it wasn't really working. it's, i think it's one of several problems they've had, but this is that, i mean, they have a super pack and throwing the normal campaign and they had a candidate running kind of a blog campaign. and the staff of the candidate were trying to strategy that was just not making sense to anybody. certainly not now that we have written about it. julia, how do you see is campaign what i hear is, you know, a lot of any immigration stuff, a lot of l g b t q stuff, a lot of pro crypto currency stuff. mean is that the pathway to, to being victorious and the g o. p to yeah, so randa sanders is such an interesting figure be and i was in florida for the most of the height of the pan demik, and that's when we saw his rise. and we also saw that of a switch flip with him. i don't want to say he was necessarily moderate before, but it wasn't a culture war warrior during his 1st 2 years as governor, that really switched with co that and he saw how successful his corona virus pandemic policy were with republicans in florida, independence,

and how other republicans from across the country were sort of elevating him and making him the gold standard as to how to deal with the corona virus. since then, you know, he is very much as a blow out in the 2020 to mid terms. he easily won that defeating a former florida governor. um, you know, when we saw republicans who are very successful in florida and part thanks to him and his campaign apparatus. but since then we have seen donald trump just after donald trump had a bit of a rocky launch. we have seen him really sky rocket and the polls skyrocket among g o p voters. and it's just become evident that donald trump has more firm standing then randa santas does. i think dave was alluding to this with his report. right. so what, what he just said, but there is less criticism that his campaign has been to online. well, let me ask, you know, when i get out and talk to republicans, i talk to the business people, the, the person who sort of stands out, they said is not like all of the others. is vac ramos. want me?

over florida. is that the occasion policy? there was a line in that policy that suggested that slate and slaves, people in the united states could have benefited were from slavery. that got a lot of. yeah. but it raises assisting question dave and i and i read it. i don't know if is yours is so we have just talked about the fantasy primary with the back and with tim scott with nikki haley and with a saw hutchins. and they're all these other potential choices out there. and they're all saying that's baloney. there's no chance that any of the going to come in, but, but i am interested in the messages and just certain degree. people that run for campaigns traditionally. now donald trump was not always generous in this way. when he ran are, are become part of the franchise later, much like pete booted judge, became part of the abiding franchise after stepping back. and i'm just wondering what you think about vix messaging some of these other candidates and how they are lining up in this, in this campaign so far. oh, something that's happening is the one reason the field is so large as even saying is that who they are to calculations. one republicans who knew randa santas before

a question about him is uh, does he have a pass to the presidency? if you talked iowans i, i find the same thing. they'll mention a, trump is their favorite, or maybe some people don't love trump they, they, they'll, they'll get vague in the mix. and i heard this and put a judge and same the same point in the, in 2019 talking democrats. i heard, but a judge mentioned by every democrat and iowa, who said, well, a warren. but i also like this guy as a backup. he's, he's actually got himself into that position is he's not been very critical of drop . he's actually taking enough positions that i think are maint would say if a populace. but for example, he thinks we should re negotiate a version of the ttp and get back into it is reason enough where i started to see other campaigns, quietly pushed, paintings about vague remo swami saying, hey, this guy is this guy is no good. he literally sounds like an anti globalist, but he's not really. he has gotten more traction then people who've been, you know, governor and they take them seriously. they take him seriously. so they later than the knocking down now. yeah. and scott has, who mentioned, i've heard more of that from the donor level. people who've met him and he, he's,

a defining feature of what they're going after. can a person of color an indian background, like nikki haley or a black man, like tim scott actually become a winner? do you see a pathway where the party somehow grows in that direction to say, we're not going to let race get in the way of our candidates? it's a good question because i think there really is this hard core, far right. populous wing of the republican party, and that's going to be a roadblock. that being said, though, you know, we have seen um, you know, maybe some enthusiasm dampen among black men in particular with the democratic party. and we have seen republicans starting with the republican national committee, right, really started to 0 in on some of these communities of color and states like california of the asian american community, the black community, but hispanic community. republican party has made in roads with hispanic community, particularly in florida with that cuban american vote. so i think there is a chance, and i think they see someone as like

a tim scott or nikki haley. or if it's a promise for kwame, being more symbolic of what america looks like. but there is that really hard core populace part of the party that feels so drawn to someone like donald trump, that there's a connect there. dave, doug bergen, governor in north dakota. i met him the other day here in washington at the 4 seasons hotel of nancy place. he's a billionaire governor and he's he to qualify to get on stage. apparently, he basically said, hey, don't need a dollar to me so you can get enough of the qualifying numbers of people, 40000 people and cross 20 sites, 200 a month, 20 state. you get it all the details, but he'll send them a $20.00 gift card for ease buying, campaign contributions. i just don't any other way you can define it. but dave, you watched more elections that i've ever seen? if you ever seen anyone do anything like doug burnam? no. so the, the democrats really innovated this idea of women who, who go to the debates by saying you need some sort of donor threshold. they did this, actually the irony is the bernie sanders. it'd be inspiration for the see the always
