as the agent plus the lines and the no man's land, the level of destruction here, proof of just how fits the fighting has been in recent weeks, this russian or don't some on a street has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries. the the no, i'm 40 back to go. this is in. these are on now to 0 line from my headquarters until coming up in the next 16 minutes. russian investigators say they've confirmed the death of boxes, cheese. you have guinea per goshen in last week's pain. fresh seemed bob wast president, them as a non god while wins another term, but the election result is rejected by the opposition. i am,
9:01 pm
i'm at your grace and be sure to interpret some damage to the mind, to pressure on the french to leave the country. i made arriving at the french and protesters in church go as in haiti, shot during the march to condemned guns. at least 4 months. just the city might get 3 wins from 3. it starts off of the english premier league, a light goal from rotary, the defending champions a to form wins of a sheffield united the let's just past 18 hours, g m t 9 pm in moscow, where investigator c. devil officially confirmed that wagner chief, he has guinea for goshen is dead. 7 passengers and 3 crew members on board the executive jet that crash on wednesday has been identified through genetic tests.
9:02 pm
the statement by russian authorities comes after days of speculation and rumors about the fate of per goshen. once a close ally of friends in fulton, he let a failed mutiny against the military leadership in moscow. 2 months ago. those jabari begins coverage with this report from moscow. as the confirmation, the world was waiting for the official announcements of the identities of the 7 passengers and 3 crew members killed in the plane crash on wednesday evening. russia's investigative committee says the names of the passengers on the slight manifest match the bodies were covered from the crash site. where i'm cool, go over the molecular, genetic examinations have been completed as part of the criminal case of the airplane crash, and that's a bad region. according to the results, the identities of all team victims have been established. they correspond with the states in the fragment of faced, meanwhile, on the streets of the capital mixed reaction to the news of the plane crash. the yes, it's good because traits has ended up like that. we don't feel sorry for traits is

the level versus wrong. of course it's a pity he was a he refresher. it's always a pity to lose such people for much the price as well. i think it is a tragedy, a human tragedy and a tragedy for society. he was a co figure. people knew about how many ordinary russians have paid spontaneous tribute to promotion memorials like these have been popping up across russia. this is the church of saint max and the confessor in the heart of the capital. it's been turned into a makeshift memorial site for the members of wagner group who died in the plane crash. this is both a testament to the popularity of, of gaining precaution and a message to officials that despite efforts to downplay the importance of his death, his legacy will continue to live on as many questions and may not answer, don't worry about his death, but also about the future of one of the most notorious mercenary groups in the world. the door says avari alba 0 moscow. well, let's take
9:04 pm
a closer look at what happened to embry, a $135.00 slide that crashed on wednesday at around 3 p. m. g m t on wednesday, the pain turned on its strengths on trunk pond to mid flight. as it was leaving moscow phone for saint petersburg, that's common practice for business jets and ad tracking service said the fight was ferrying as normal, but its location was not transmitted constantly because of jamming or other interference in the area. it flew for only 20 minutes of its scheduled one hour flight when it started losing out huge suddenly before crashing in a field. yeah, cruising quino village. well, let's speak to bill brown to now who is the prominent, crammed and critic is a ceo of hermitage capital and had a global might need ski justice campaign. he's also the author of a freezing order, a true story of money laundering, murder and surviving. vladimir fourteen's ross, thank you so much bill for being with us on. i'll just hear 1st of all this confirmation today. do you think it ends all the speculation about you have get you
9:05 pm
have any precaution? i think it pretty much in speculation. i mean, we were pretty sure before this event that he was dead there, there was a very small chance that he wasn't because he's not man of disguises and false passports and so on. but, but it looks pretty pretty well certain now, and i would, i would say this is a pretty good day for vladimir button because you have any promotion that was his biggest enemy and, and he is now no longer there. that many rush observers have predicted precautions demise after that failed to meet me in june for the kremlin, as you heard and know, has denied involvement. do you think will ever know the truth about this? i know the truth and i think anybody else who knows why the report is history knows the truth. who is a man of a serial killer? he's, he's murdered many, many of his opponents. there are many people who are against folks and who are either dad and in jail or, and exile. i added, there's a long,
9:06 pm
long history of this. and i would argue that promotion is probably his biggest. it was his biggest threat promotion as, as you report it from us go, there are many people who saw him as a folk hero in russia. he was sort of saying the stuff that people weren't allowed to say, which is that the word wasn't going well. the king is not wearing any clothes, all right, etc. and not better. that's not good for whatever. right. but if, if, as the se, fulton, and the kremlin was behind this, why did they wait 2 months to do it? well, everybody was asking me that question every single day during that 2 month period. and there there's 2 answers. one is that putting likes to do is due diligence and he's very careful and you know, he goes about retaliation. often times it takes a lot longer than 2 months to go after his enemies. these, these, these operations take time to plan, they need surveillance,
9:07 pm
they need to figure out where their opportunities are. and i suspect also that progression was such an important person inside the foreign policy establishment. he was running a huge number of mercenary operations in africa and syria, libya, etc. but they kind of needed to do their due diligence right around what their, what their plan was after they killed him and sorry, off your apps. right. but then on one hand, it looks terrible for food and every day that the promotion was alive. on the other hand, put in is a man who likes to be careful. he likes to plan these things carefully. anyways, that makes me that everything. yeah. the comment, as you know, i say that this was an absolute lie that they were behind this, and some in russia have pointed the finger of blame at the ukraine as well. as you know, russia has said that everything is an absolute lie. they said it was an absolute live and they shut down m age 17. when they did, they said it was an absolute live that they killed alexander. listen, you and go with polonium 210 in london, which they did. they said it was a lie that they as plays in sort a scrape all with no chuck in salisbury,
9:08 pm
the these every time the kremlin denies something that only gives you more, more confidence that it's for the episode, as you've said, has no doubt expose some vulnerabilities of russia does food to me much stronger now that precaution is confirmed to be out of the picture. or do you think the enter a lead tensions that we seen in russia in the last few months? will they end now or will they continue as well? that there's, there's 2 answers that question. of course, putting a stronger now than he was during the last 2 months because he was humiliated during the last 2 months following precautions failed, mutiny put and couldn't allow him to live in and put in his now re established himself as the, as the murder is dictator that he's always been and the reason why he's been able to stay in power for the last 23 years is because everybody thought that as a challenge, him, they could end up dead like for the ocean. and he's reestablish that impression
9:09 pm
among the lead on what that's on one hand on the other hand, the reason why per goshen ran his rebellion 2 months ago is because the war and ukraine has been a disaster for food. and he's been at losing the hundreds of thousands of troops. huge amount of equipment of war that should have lasted 3 days is now going on 540 days. and, and all the tensions that are kind of brewing up in russia. our have seen themselves sort of expressed in this promotion story and, and those tensions aren't going to go away that the longer the ukrainians keep on hammering away on the russians more and fighting more. second guessing more of that is there. and that does make put in a week and put them in a precarious position bill. what about the wagner back the wagner forces those were very much very loyal to you've got any for goshen. do you think they can be successfully integrated into the russian army to well that's, that's a really a,
9:10 pm
a tough question. answer on one hand. these people are mercenaries that do stuff for money. on the other hand, for goes in was, was an evil genius. he might have been a terrible, terrible man doing terrible violent things, but it was really good at doing terrible things. he was sort of like the you on musk of evil. and he, he, he got stuff done that and that most other people can't get done. and so i can imagine that he was a very key man, and it may be hard to control a bunch of criminals who are the, the mercenaries are, are honest to god criminals that he recruited out of prisons and rapists and murderers and, and, and so on. and so that how you, how you integrate those people into a regular government force without the same type of charismatic leader i think is quite frankly difficult. so, you know, on balance, i would imagine that these people will kind of drift into the, into the background because it requires someone like precautions to keep it altogether. bill, uh, a more personal questionnaire, perhaps your
9:11 pm
a prominent critic off the kremlin. as we've heard this in, in this interview, very vocal in your criticism of fulton, do you feel safe as well? goes and decides to go after you. he doesn't forgive, nor does he forget, you know, i, i did something which he found unforgivable, which was passing a piece of legislation called the maintenance guy, which freezes russian assets. it's been past and 35 countries. he's been after me for 13 years with death threats, kidnapping threats, extradition request interval, red notices. he's not giving up any time soon. and i can say very honestly that that's um, uh, there's nothing about this production situation. surprises me at the same time. uh, you know, it's, it's one of these things where, where you have to keep your guard up very high. if you're on the, on the get list and my guard has been and continues to be very high. feel thank you so much for talking to us and sharing your perspective with us. bill brought our

author a freezing order, a true story of money laundering, murder, and surviving vladimir putin straw. thank you for joining us today for monday. thank you. and out of world news now am as a non guide, guar is set for a 2nd term. as in bob was presidents. the, the metro commission says he won 53 percent of the vote with 44 percent of his main challenge announcement for his main challenge. in nelson janisa, but the opposition has rejected the result saying it was rushed without proper verification. the generally election on wednesday was extended by 24 hours after bonnet. papers failed to arrive on time in some areas.
9:13 pm
much is one i'll just say as how i'm a task that has more from howry a nelson to me is the outline or the challenges he face during the image and including holding this press conference in hiring. he claimed that it was hard to find if you knew because businesses were told by the ruling policy not to allow it into the media. we cannot verify that information. when it came to voting, he said that his supporters were intimidated, particularly in rural areas. when he made some people were from march to closing stages to vote for the readings on the parties. he claimed, as someone is putting agents with chase away from putting stations,
9:14 pm
which went in on the p. a struggle home. he did have a seem to find team tied, he's going to court. he says as parties gathering all the information and the relevant documents to challenge the election was all these urgent applicant indeed is to put pressure on president emerson. and then douglas, to make sure that this process is more credible. president elect when and doug has come off and said that he denied any allegations of fluids. and he's a, anyone who's upset about the this results. hardwood tests out of their training is not on. algae 0 is save you a caustic larry who is live from john is where he's a former minister information. baldwin present, robert and gabby's government. he was also a candidate in zimbabwe. 2023 elections but was fond from competing. thank you so much for being with us. a controversial election, which international observers have said, fell short of democratic standards. the opposition says it was raked. what do you make of it? and the results announced by the electoral commission of what am i think it says
9:15 pm
clear back to the election. we arrived in the very opposite by the, from the progression uh to the students of the constitution of the electronic products to apply themselves for me. but also the, his quite a bit before which is to do with the ability to start because of the candidates my case in particular, when i the next step, it is a candidate to me to do what's happened during the working so way for instance, by the way which i did made a sentence either with no 2 papers. um is the surprising that the place has been much distance away from the center and that was, but the didn't so clearly the electronic product is a permit that comes with that. and the, the solution and the view expressed by the money to is that a,
9:16 pm
you and others to say that to the elections away from that little boy, the way i don't need the dish on the grid to leave this up there. really, bill for the nation. the dimensions are, so there is an international, uh, initial investigative. this is the budget. you say they have to start all over again. the opposition wants to take this to the court. do you think they can be successful in taking this to the court system this time around because they taught tried that in the last election, which we, you know, where we had the same scenario. do you think that can be successful? this timeline does they have enough evidence the evidence they need to say that this was a rejection as well. well, like i say is, um, i wish to have one. i have my doubts about the, my chevy or the clipper forwards. i think, you know, of course, the speed um, which it just is of expose you said and dispos just of the cover the restriction.
9:17 pm
it was of this perhaps meant as well as, you know, easy to use which expresses before the election at this time to confirm. i did show, i just thought that this is where we are, where they did this. it also has been received it or 5, it was housing just 345 months before the election of this nature. and therefore, you can peace or the death of a know fed this and people don't get to just be just very interesting that you say that that, that you have your doubts about the impacts shalley to you of the justice system in zimbabwe. you tried to run into selection but were barred as you mentioned, and you were part of the final p, f, the, the governing party in zimbabwe for a very long time. you know, the workings of this party. do you think it has what it takes to leads and probably for the next 5 years to an economic crisis and all the uncertainties, separate countries? i'm sorry. can i get it done? my good. now i was asking you, if you think uh is i know p f, the governing party,
9:18 pm
which you know very well having you having been part of this party for a long time. do you think they have what it takes to leads? and by way for the next 5 years of the scene, but into that it is good to go for a to box or patch you can because of the people the, this is the best say, is that something that the ship of the country that miles with the whole can be trusted and deal. ringback little bits, rather than though, i have to go with the auction. that does happen. and the question, but since i've and that's kind of 5. so you get to have a visit from differences between the people and the municipal country is to accept the pin for to trust 100 percent of the company that should, it will take much more than that. so what's important now therefore, after all this, do you have to see this bullet to die? love?
9:19 pm
i love being by the region. that's good. my life was in public to build trust that good and good stuff. see progress. i'll come to the next 5 years. will be billed by just avoiding backwards and forwards without the mackenzie. this was what i also found interesting in this election. miss a sir is that some areas in zimbabwe have voted for the governing party. the piece of the governing parties on the if, but didn't vote for president, non guideline is a problem. the price of it well the yes, the 1st 70 the came through as a result of the cool, with the endless question. yes. the don't to success of all been minded all the parts of them, but sort of get the structure. and because once you have such a political party, you'd be much get the stuff for the time to visit the edge. you end up having to use some of the cover the solutions quite the minutes organization to try to let
9:20 pm
you know that. so the brother definitely is a very popular kind of knew what the end of the week end the election event as a big one from bally he worked with. but because he was part was of course he will band and a breach. but she is of that to them is the way we got the quote to the situation. would you be able to use that for sure. thank you so much for talking to us and sharing. you've used the best. save you a classical wary. joining us there from john has worked for my minister in robin god based government in zimbabwe. thank you very much for your time. a lot more head on the sanchez here and use our including mexico's push to legalize kind of is so medical use goes up in sol amount for farming communities in support of record equaling effort from the formula. one well title leader at the dodge from the

started about $270.00 game members, allegedly were killed directly by the, by the population. but at the same time, we are seeing also a level of valence and 80 that is extremely high according to a local news. human rights organizations. um, you know, seems generally about 760 people kids buy gigs and even yesterday in the notes of the copy. so we have a couple of the questions, who went to an area of one foot by a vicious game. and the or many of them was, you know, murder on this, but 77 of them were murdered by by the members in many orders. i wonder what we are saying to day, according to experts, i talked to easiest highly when president is, i mean, the majority of the haitian depository is today under the control of games they visually have the control because because of this and trinity of the ations,
9:26 pm
they then basically have to go full of visually every activity. uh you mean the 80 right now in the us, 3 people have been shot dead in what police say was a racially motivated attack in jacksonville, florida. a white gunman killed 3 black people before turning the weapon on himself after a shoot job with police. michael apple has a detail a crime that shocked people in jacksonville, florida. a mosque gunman, armed with an assault rifle into the store and opened fire, killing 3 black people. the local sheriff described the shooting as a hate crime sooner had offered several manifesto one to his parents, one to the media. and one of the federal agents. portions of these manifesto detailed the suicide disgusting id allergy of hate. by me put the shooting was
9:27 pm
racially motivated and he hated black people. people in jacksonville say they're shocked. this makes no says i am very, very angry. right now. i'm emotional. you know, we got kids in this community saying all of this, and this is unnecessary. the weapons used included a hand gun and the same your to magic rifle. and it's too often the same folks. and this type of, of hate. you know, this type of, you see the, the swastikas on the gun. we must do everything that we can. we must do everything that we can to this way, this type of hate. this nash shooting on saturday has a game spock debates in the united states about its gun laws. in this country, we have a better near unfettered access to fire arms. and many states say it's like florida

9:29 pm
all these victims were black. and the police say as well. but they found manifesto as they found a living testament and a will add to the problem at his home. they also say that he obtained the weapons that he used in the killings legally, the weapons being a all 15 type assault rifle, as well as a block automatic picture. now it has been reviewed that poem and to was actually held in 2017, under the bank act, which allows authorities to hold somebody for 72 hours for mental observation. but the share of pointed out that this would not disqualify the individual from obtaining a fire on recently ago, illegally, particularly in a state where there's very few controls over the sales a firearm. so this is something that is going to continue to keep out the debate, get to another tragedy with people being shot in this particular case. clearly, according to the police, a racist driven attack attorney general,

why the winner of the presidential election for a 2nd time the opposition is rejecting the result saying it was flashed without oper, verification, and hundreds of protest. suzy news there have been demonstrating outside of french 2010 face in the capital in yami, according on french troops to move the country as a traffic jam on one of the wells most important shipping, which is expected to last into next year and could delay deliveries of christmas merchandise worldwide. more than a 100 ships of stock on either side of the panama canal because of low water level, soft and months of drought, an average of 40 vessels, usually transit every day. that's been reduced to 32 a day. the waterway is a vital shipping route to avoid or to avoid vessels having to send all the way around south america. the cannot connect to the atlantic and pacific oceans carries around 6 percent of all cargo worldwide. i'll just here is on it's on that. i'm get to stay with more of moving

a ship like the one you're looking at through the panama. come now requires around a 100000000 gallons of water that's for each ship going through. so we're talking about 30 to ship in a day now that the restrictions are in place at, but now at that number goes up to $38.00 or even 40 ships a day when the canal is operating normally, given the current throughout these restrictions will remain in place for a least another 10 months, according to the canals, the out toward the end. that's because the canal is worried, the what will happen in the near future. they are worried that this drought will continue in the coming months and that they will not have enough water to continue operating that canal. and that even have to restrict their, the limited level at which it is operating. now there's also an issue of what will happen in the future in this they've given the fact that these droughts are
9:36 pm
becoming more frequent and more severe in their effects of possibly the solution. there will be diverting some of the other rivers in panama, trying to increase the capacity of the artificial lakes that allow for the canal to function. most of the water that is used here. if not all of it, then ends up into its flush the into the oceans of the finale is in the canal, is also considering ways to store that water and try to reuse that the. but if you talk to experts here at this telling you, that is the time to act is now because the situation is becoming more dramatic every year as the climate. this change in the apology by the family of the former british prime minister william gladstone for his slaveholding, past him, diana has prompted renewed debate about international reparations blackstone spa,

a connection to jamaica. but also let's not forget the indian ocean more issues as well as the south asia itself within venture ship system at which the gladstone so deeply involved. so there's a huge kind of conversation of this starts to open and a very important one. yeah. and it's not just the glass, so inside the families of slave trade is like the covariance that also come forward and apologize. but what about the british government itself? where she's to knock i, the prime minister has refused to apologize and to commit to pay reparations. why, why this refusal from the british government anything to face up to its past? yes, well, um, you know, it might be a situation of some mcclay feet of a we, a government. in fact, a strong government would see that this is the time in which to take a very strong stance in line with ethics and in line with where the 21st century to acknowledge the role of the british empire in slavery in the data. is there the
9:41 pm
public knowledge is there back in 2015 land president when the previous prime minister, one of the previous previous prime ministers went to jamaica and said, in fact, also a tory prime minister. that in fact, it's time for jamaicans to move on from slavery. clearly we're not moving on and there can be no such moving on. if a government continues to try to sweep things under the rock bed, that approach does not seem to be very productive, right. and it's not just the u. k. of course, we've mentioned some of these other countries in belgium. they can't even agree on whether or not to apologize. how do you explain, you know, the reluctance from these, all these countries, these, from a colonial powers to face up to the as well. you know, maybe i can best answer that question by asking the whole audience that's listening to take with me. just one really big step back and acknowledge together that there is more of a 100 years of emancipation processes that ran from the 17 seventy's all the way
9:42 pm
through the 18 eighty's in every single one of those cases. it was the case that the slave owners were always given reparations package when they're in terms of a land transfer in terms of direct cash payments, in terms of privileges, entitlements, frankly, they were always guaranteed amnesty from civil and criminal consequences for having kept in slaves and people torture them killed them and so forth. there were no consequences. now, when we then recognized that today now a 150 years on governments, many of them still on aligned with these powerful families, refused to acknowledge this past. it really makes us have to ask, you know, is this really why the democracies shouldn't be doing in 2022? but i think that's, you know, we have a big indeed history here that has to be addressed a big and d b 3. as you say it on, just on the question of reparations, quickly there's a, you know, that many people ask,
9:43 pm
how do you actually calculate reparations from the trans onto a transatlantic trade? it's not only economical force, but they're also the intangible site, the loss of life. how do you channel the compensation effectively and how do you calculate the reparations? in fact, i and i think that's a great question. there are lot of scholars working on that. um, let me just mention $11.00 interesting tidbit of maybe trivia that back in 1963 of the more notice queen mother on the more of reparations movement, she asked for $500.00 trillion dollars out of been a multi generation reparations package. that gives a sense for the amount of money that black communities have been asking for historically. so even today, when, for example, with a very respected you, professor with them dirty as asked for 14 trillion dollars for african american defendants of insulated people. that really kind of work in comparison to historical demands that have been made. some people call this an unable dad. i
9:44 pm
don't think of it in that way. i do think that we have to really think of an amount of money, but in many various countries around the world are going to have to contribute in order to create a system wide change. recognizing that the systems that have come out of emancipation have been just as racist as in some ways the experience of slavery itself. so in any amount that doesn't bring about a systems wide change for the individual nations involved in add an international level is simply going to be inadequate. and i think that's what quitting mother, i think more back all the way in 1963. i recognized thank you so much. very interesting to talk to you about this chris mind or power from northeastern university. thank you for joining us on august here. thank you for having me. now, in 2017 mexico's government declared cannabis legal for medical use in the country . it was hailed as a step forward for activist and also communities wanting to grow marijuana legally
