10:05 am
sir. well, i divided 3 a um the 23 am to 4 am this morning. uh, let's work guns in about cables and sold towers. and the services have been restored to some parts of the, the gaza, for mainly in the southern parts. uh we, we don't have any confirmation about communication network being restored in the northern parts of the gods trip and gauze as the holy and starting from a part of the central area of gauze that namely and the say it us and did it was the city and the city of han, eunice, and drop off. and of course the environment was so intense that destroyed all the cables and the cell towers the infrastructure that skipped a receiving. and then re routing all the international. it channels for the
10:06 am
cellular uh surfaces and the internet connectivity. uh but the, the how it was restored on how it was fixed uh large the was. 2 depending on alternative, uh, that explains why uh, the, the signal is not a c volt. uh, even in the southern part of gauze, off of the weather. it says a well or a redo uh, the other company operating in the gaza strip. it doesn't cover the entire, the southern part only to specific location. and they have, we were this, uh, we, we, we heard from a stores of friends, it was a company stating that it's in the coming hours. it's going to be say, covering the lord parts of the southern parts of the gaza strip. but as the, the entire, as those towers and an infrastructure were completely damaged. and removing the basically removing dogs off the grid of the cellular service and internet
10:07 am
connectivity. it has been very, very difficult and it will take likely a weeks to restore the entire the entire system back. but as of now, as an alternative, it at least put people in touch with each other. but unfortunately, those who had the remaining family members in gaza in the northern part uh they got connected, they went online to know more about the relatives and loved ones and friends being killed or are injured in the hospital. unfortunately, honey, as you say, we've seen such an intense bombardment over the last few days. how are people that doing, especially after being cut off for all this time? what it was really difficult. i mean the, the for 48 hours the off the grid, and not only do he's a psychological and emotional impact and people, as, as thinking of removing guys off the grid. why launching a mass bombardment?
10:08 am
only meant one thing for palestinians that there is something atrocious going on and gaza and the northern part, the, the, the psychological part. it was mainly people who had remaining family members either in the north gaza or those who took a ship, a hospital as a shelter, and they were completely off of the the communication with them. they did not know what was going on. we heard about the mass, the apartment we had the next morning morning we learned from paramedics and civil defense personnel who, who made it in the early hours of a lot of yesterday to shoot hospitalized nearby areas. we, we, we heard about horror stories of people are thrown in in the streets and, and people and doctor, all those, it just, it may be able to allow, worry more about what's going to happen next. in addition and lack of communication
10:09 am
. i mean, commented kitchen being disabled, it did not really help people at working on uh, on making necessities available in terms of, of, of, of bakeries in terms of going to the markets and, and, and trying to sort things throughout the day now. and i'm an ordinary gauze, and it spends his date as follow it from 5 in the morning to 12 in the afternoon, and at noon at the queueing in line for bread and from one to 5 in the evening or 6 in the evening doing for water that's what basically has been happening for the past the past week or so. honey, you talk about the lack of necessities given the ongoing lack of fuel, how a hospital is doing now? i'm so more i've had to shut down the yes there we have to confirm the
10:10 am
statements. so of 30 hospitalization and a small size medical centers were forced to shut down completely because they ran out of not only a medical supplies, but also of the fuel that, that kept. uh, that is used to keep powers in the rates as running out. the red uh is coming to large health facilities, namely uh, ship, a hospital, not the hospital european hospital in her nunez and the weight the hospital. and also in dropbox. 6 they are the large and mid size hospitals and the lack of refuse it is for getting these hospital to shop more of its the departments of the now from where we're reporting is from the only department that is active and running is the emergency department. and it's running at the low capacity, it just a few lights here and there at the corner door and the entrance and also. 3 just
10:11 am
like really, a little medical necessity is provided depending relying on whatever if you live in the storage of the hospital at any, at any house coming at any time in the coming hours, the hospital will be forced to completely shut down. but it will keep the gates open because there's so many evacuated at the heart of the hospital, the front yards in the back yard of the hospital. and it's hard to ask these people to go somewhere else because it's just there's no septic placing garza and for sure the hospital is not safe as well, but people rather to stay inside rather in, in the streets and staying together. i'm sure, honey my for that, with that report from us, from inside the gaza strip from con eunice. thank you, honey. and please stay safe, as well as these rarely prime minister benjamin netanyahu address the nation on
10:12 am
saturday. and said, the war against a mazda has entered a new stage, an official has moved from occupied the stores despite going close, was the spot. israel has entered a new phase of the water and gossip. the prime minister is not using the word invasion. the troops are on the ground, the bombardment of the strip as the rushes and continuous, idaho rook. the pre lot to do, we're going to fight on land in the air and sea cliff and we will win. it will be victory of the good against the evil. in this war we are standing together strongly know who was facing questions. so in the media for the 1st time since the attacks of october, the 7th, he won his country of a long and difficult campaign, but again, refused to accept. he was responsible for the failures that led to the hum us attack. a lot of cool um, it's a whole lot there to vote after the war. we will all have to give answers. everyone including myself, there was a failure here,
10:13 am
a horrible failure. the military campaign has brought people onto the streets of tel aviv and protest. many relatives of the missing or do is being held captive. the believe the federal chas. bombardment is making it harder for them to be freed before it is nationally televised news conference netanyahu. meg representatives of the families, the 250 people say these relays, he told them the military campaign was about accepting pressure. i don't want to mess in my corner, so we will exercise and exhaust every option to bring them home, both before the armies entry and after it's understood in negotiations to free the captives of continuing the complicated by the continuing assault on guys that are going calls for the names to the war and guys are going protests and capitals around the world. but then again, some member of these really war cabinet says there is no a diplomatic time limit on this. just an operational quote. and this is just the
10:14 am
2nd stage of a war. this is already claimed, thousands of lives. i'll look for sure. i'll just see it up. you know, keep i east jerusalem while its features are high, right? she's an officer potties true. so then with more for us, sorry, tell us what these really minute trees all seem to pay for the goals of today. there will be a slice and fully as really on me a guardian i believe we've lost our audio connection. i was sorry. we will try to get it back for you, but in the meantime, i'm, let's speak to a correspondence in the occupied westbank. at least 3 palestinians have been killed . the during is really res. overnight let's speak to iran con. he's in ramallah and we're on the desktop that has been mounting over the course of the last few weeks, torcous about what happens and these latest rates. well, the latest,
10:15 am
the full i can bring you from the occupied westbank is a $1143.00 of those were killed last night in the scar refugee camp. a 25 drove outstanding was killed and 10 others. the wounded and the town of tuna which is in to boss of 32 year old palestinian was killed that and 7 others were injured. and in bed 3 money a my love, a 3rd year old palestinian was killed. so that's bringing the death toll up to a $114.00. like i say, this is what we are now seeing within the occupied westbank. it used to be that these readings would come into one location, pretty much right at that location and come back. it's now multiple locations and multiple targets happening almost every single light certainly every single night. in the last 7 days. um, every time a palestinian goes to sleep, now they all worried that there is going to be a raid somewhere near them. and that's what we're saying and wrong. we know that
10:16 am
we've also been talking about the number of palestinian prison is in his way to jail. so some time, not certainly being discussed in israel's negotiations with him off i imagine. and that's absolutely right. let me just give you some numbers. uh, there are some 6600 palestinians in is really jose. that's the highest number. it's been in over a decade. all of those um, 1500 have been actually arrested since october. the 7th of the $661800.00 held without charge of the something that they call administrative detention. so the focus for him asked is getting bad people out getting these palestinians out of is ready, joe. but that's something that the is really, is a car, a bulking out because they feel that people in gaza are actually innocent. and they are held as hostages rather than prisoners or captives. but they see the palestinians that they hold a, even though they're holding many without charged,
10:17 am
like i say, as being part of the prison system. remember the occupied westbank doesn't come on . the is where the civil it comes on the is where the military law, the occupation law. so a lot of those people held on charges they perhaps wouldn't be held in israel. money charges perhaps for like holding a published a new flag or even picking up a rock, a demonstration that kind of thing. so it's a very difficult negotiation process for the is riley is but the, the how much a very clear they want those palestinian prisoners out of jail. and mon calling their, with the latest for us from ramallah any occupied westbank. thank you. and ron, what we can now go back to our correspondence, our requirements in occupied is through. so i'm sorry, it reminds us of the latest requests that we're hearing from the is really only about yeah, well, lo and they are the hours of this morning, daniel, who, gar, he's a spokesman for the is randy minute tree. he released the statement warning again
10:18 am
the residence of those living and also have cause a to move to the south. he said that they should move because as to medicine and, and was in that area. and he said it's much safer heal service right, to that they've sent out several warnings and they have said that people are still there. i mean, we know some of those are still saying and north and central causes because really the reality on the ground paints a different pace. so those are in the south, including places like sun, eunice. so whether that comes with a rough road across things have been problems by israel. so, and you know, in the was as i colleagues that know wherever is safe. it's a constant game of moving from one place to the next. and then to the next, where families are also having to stay in different areas in case isn't estrada and it doesn't kill entire families so that requests that, you know, as well says it's giving people plenty of warning, but it's not really practical. when we look at the situation that, that has been,
10:19 am
the development says, uh 2 soldiers is really soldiers that have been killed in cautious with the how my slides is in gaza of is really admitted. she says, as we'll say, top of 1550. how much target, but as we know, again, those targets are also a killing civilians there in gaza. sora, i've seen this and, you know, who is also bracing his release for a long campaign. we've seen, is really dest already in the fighting. he's certainly under a lot of pressure the absolutely speaking of pressure, there's been a development this morning, one of the members of the war cabinet. any guns that was mentioned did not report on the island fisher. he's one of the people that was taken into the folds of his will cabinet, a small group of the senior ministers up making decisions about this will. he's also a full met, defense minister. he's actually come out to austin next and you all who to retracts
10:20 am
the parts of his statement yesterday where he said he was kind of passing the buck onto the security forces as well as the defense ministry and the intelligent surfaces saying that reading kind of falls in that a lot of the blame as to what has happened. it all hope of the 7th and soul to is something not the same and up, any doubts posted, actually on switzer asking him to retract that statement. and he added that when we are war leadership, my show responsibility to slides, do the right things and strengthen the forces in a way that they can realize what we demand from them. basically, this means that there is clearly a split within not will cabinet. we have that, you know, relative benjamin se on himself was rich rates is that there is unity amongst them, but we're not now salting to see those products. what earlier before we had a few days ago, you had the ministry pushing and raring to go into cause or install that will. and
10:21 am
there was a push back from this and you all here because of clearly these mediations in the background. now this is an open a message from betty guns who's supposed to be working with the prime minister, who's now asking him to retract that statement. so that just gives you an idea of the situation here. very interesting dynamics and as well at the moment. so i will call around that for us and occupied east jerusalem. thank you very much. sorry as well. that's when i'm doing it on our end, he is an associate professor as i'm at least history at georgetown university and joins me. it hit and after hosted here of the thank you for being with us again. let me start by asking you, i know you have extended family in gaza, given that we now are hearing that comes with backups. have you heard from them? how are they doing? there's been no communication for several days, at least, and i think this is true for, for everyone who has family and does that. there's been a complete blackout. essentially the information of calls of, of any attempt to, to be able to get in touch with people. you know, there, there are no palestinians outside of palestine who have family there who haven't
10:22 am
been affected in some way from people who've seen family members obviously killed in their own homes. you know, even though seeking shelter in places like the west schools that are there, those who have been told to move south and have done so still being attacked. and so i think for, for anyone who has family, there's certainly been incredible anxiety over simply not knowing the fate of, of their loved ones there. oh, we all hearing now that some of the communications are being restored, but only in the central positive cause. or i believe and in the south, and we've just had again about this, this call from the israeli army for people in northern gauze and cause the city to move south us again. and we know that people being bottom so they went back to gauze. the city, what do you make of the situation that now especially the basically flips that have been dropped saying that anyone who has left that will be regarded as part of the last? well, i think this is, this is part of what we've seen in terms of the genocide of language. and the approach that has been taken by it is rarely, military in part by attempting to dehumanize the entire population and target the
10:23 am
entire population. i don't think this is, this is a on slot that has specific military objectives. i think everything that we've seen suggest that it's a one entire civilian population. the demands that are being made are completely unrealistic. they're completely contrary to the tenants of international humanitarian law. it's simply unrealistic to take the most densely populated territory probably on the planet earth, and say to then concentrate that population and even smaller strip of land. so saying, you know, 1100000 people have to move south and let's not forget that many of those people were still bonds despite following those instructions and attempting to kind of escape what they thought was the violence in the north and seeing that they're still being bombarded as far south as i knew this and even up to the border and rough off. so there's clearly a major contradiction in terms. and i think a lot of this is about using the way for a ground invasion that is likely to take its toll in terms of far more devastating numbers of casualties going forward. and the same thing happened to the family of a corresponding 10 garza. let me take
10:24 am
a moment and ask you about what we're hearing this incentive took them out of prison. this was a potential present as well that that's in, in the lab. so certainly being discussed how mouse is holding a number of people in custody, both civilians and military personnel as muscle service saying that there are others who want her not in their custody, but all being held captive in gaza. what do you make of the dynamics that who lies a deal like this cover to? well, i think from the palestinian side, certainly the demand has always been to release the prisoners, many of homes language and it is rarely presents for years on end without any kind of a process. i mean, we just heard this from the correspond to their, in the west bank in terms of the numbers that we see over 5000, even just entering into this period, palestinians, most of whom are denied any kind of even motor come of adjust the traditional process right, some are just languishing unless you're under this administrative detention law.
10:25 am
but even others who are put through any kind of a court system, it's usually a military tribunal that gives no real representation for palestinians who, who can, are under occupation and not out of their own free well being subjected to these, to these, you know, you know, extra legal kind of measures and processes and so i think in that sense there is demand, as we've seen in the past. i think historically we've seen that when, when there were others, really soldiers being held in gaza is captive. that there was a prisoner exchange. i think once that released over a 1000 pilots, diggins who were kept under similar kinds of things. and so part of what the strategy here is certainly seems to be to try and, and to, to can talk some sort of a swap that would involve the release of palestinian prisoners under is really custody. so i'm just wondering about the, the is really captives that, that are being held at the moment. because as we were saying, obviously they're all civilians there on military personnel. last has previously said that they, they consider the civilians as guests. right. and they all willing to release them unconditionally, at any time, i'm just trying to get a sense of who,
10:26 am
when we talk about a prisoner swap, crudest and last, were found to yeah, in terms of the swap, it's probably in reference to the is really military personnel that are being held and i think again, we've already seen a couple of examples of, of civilians that have been released unconditionally. i think there's, there's been reports, at least that we've heard that there have been attempts to release even more in greater numbers, particularly though is holding a passports of other nations. and yet, i think the difficulty given the kind of the aerial bombardment, the, the, the kind of a mass of violence that's being on use has made it kind of logistically, very difficult. and certainly the reports coming out of the israeli side seems to suggest that having the release of these, you know, civilian prisoners is not a priority. and certainly that the military objectives of this is taking probably wouldn't even over the release of those civilians. and a very interesting tension is going on only as rarely side as well. i'm doing that already. i'm an associate professor at least history at georgetown university thanksgiving with me here. in the meanwhile,
10:27 am
the one secretary general has visited the hall to discuss what he calls an unprecedented escalation and gaza. antonio gutierrez, met with the country prime minister on foreign minister shaking home and been overwhelming. also, i need to discuss the options for the escalation. well, it's on hawk is the deputy spokesman for the year and salary general. he says protera is just working to help mediation efforts to release captives in gaza. the secretary general wanted to have consultations on the middle east prices. so in the high he spoke to the prime minister of got that, but he also spoke of by telephone with president cc of egypt. so he's continuing his context and a he expressed his gratitude a took a diary for the mediation initiatives. so we're continuing to plead for the release of all of the hostages, where we're in gaza for the us. the big point is to reach out to everyone. we can do a hell of influence with either side with either disabilities or with some us to put
10:28 am
an end to the situation that we're in right now. with the secretary general, what that means is that the hostages must be released unconditionally, there must be unimpeded, humanitarian access to gaza. and ya, of course, he is continuing to appeal for humanitarian ceasefire. so that the so that we can get a to those who need it. a well still a head here on al jazeera, thousands into k, i. so it's solid. there's a with the palestinians with a mass of turn out that and assemble the let's get going with your weather report for asia. thank you so much for tuning in and seems pretty well where they should be in focus, gone temperature wise. so jacob, a bed in upper same profits, 35 degrees for you with a sun cloud combo on sunday. now for india,

the north of the border. and now this situation is, is kind of taking a new form as of today with seeing more drones, the eggs introduced into the pots and also his beloved launching several that tax in the early hours. because in general, who used to late a tax. now it seems that the, the tax i was talking earlier also the fact that over the past few days situation was calling with them today. today it's really intense and we can feel got in the fires of still wanting in the bushes behind us. so situation is yeah, so what i'm saying is escalating ones that live in use is really bought on of cost . this is lynn, can you well and i'll talk to the ground operations and goes, well, let's go back to that are in an associate professor as i'm at least history at georgetown university here in capsule. i feel that we know the threat of escalation as we've been hearing, that has been taken very, very seriously. gutierrez has been in the region to wherever mediation assets at
10:38 am
the moment is anyone regarded as a, as a potential mediator? well, i think in terms of, as he's far we haven't seen any real indication. i think, you know, the un general assembly issue their statements. so we know where the will of the world ultimately is. but whether there's actually any, anything that's enforceable, i think unfortunately seems to be what's lacking. and so in terms of what the regional actors are doing, i think the number one issue for negotiation seems to be the fate of the captives be held in guys on thinking about in terms of either a humanitarian kind of release, especially of the civilian captives and then thinking more broadly about a possible broader prisoner slots, that would involve palestinian prisoners also being held by israel. and so for now at least that seems to be the more overriding concern. and then we've seen, of course, discussions of things like, you know, increasing the, the humanitarian aid that's going in this talk about humanitarian pause, which i've, i've discussed previously about it being kind of in some ways your wilfully
10:39 am
insufficient in terms of actually stopping the scale of the death of the destruction that's unfolding and caused by simply having a pause is not really addressing the really, you know, immediate need there. and so i think in that sense, we're still very short of what needs to be done to actually put an end to the violence unfolding over gaza and terms of these other armed groups that could potentially join the conflict. so it has been, i, for instance, would you say it's fair to describe that approach so far as calculated caution. now trying to demonstrate some sort of darzy with, with what's happening and cause right. i mean, i think the, the engagement so far have been incredibly limited. i think a lot of it has been very dependent on what happens in gaza. we haven't seen a full scale ground invasion as of yet. we've just, uh we've, we have seen, obviously the, the aerial bombardment that's been, you know, kind of consistent and non stop for over. it has to be, you know, and intensifying exactly over the last few days. the cutting off of communication in part possibly to ensure that the world is not hearing, especially about what's going on in these last
10:40 am
a 72 hours or so. and so certainly the way that other actors externally might respond is very much connected to what's happening. and gaza, so as we see these huge demonstrations across the globe and, and solidarity with with probably style and the palestinian people, i want to ask you a little bit about china because it feels like beijing is lining itself closer to moscow's position on this issue. is this about align itself with the global sales because we've seen so much of that sort of dyers. we come from global south country and yeah, it has been, i mean this is really when we think about the number of countries like a 120 states voted for the ceasefire of a resolution. which again, is, is very much just a statement of, of where the positions are rather than something that's actually actionable. but certainly having, you know, 2 of the security council members in china and russia both also now signal their willingness or their, their demand 1st as far as well going forward. i think certainly puts them at loggerheads with the united states and its allies in europe who are obviously
10:41 am
pushing to continue this war essentially. and an open ended fashion saying, you know, israel has no red lines that it basically has a blank check to continue to pursue whatever it wants to do. and guys have, despite the death and destruction that's unfolding there. and so seeing, you know, 2 very powerful states now are beginning to, to express at least vocalize that support. but certainly we haven't seen anything in terms of, of action so far. well, china is justin in the last day or so they've said that what's happened? well, israel's choices have gone well beyond self defense, as i know is here and people have used the phrase and into western neutrality is basically wanting to try to position itself here as some kind of unusual bronco. or does the calculus going to be on? well, so far, i think the idea is to replace the role that the u. s. has, has alleged to have been played for the last several decades, which was the idea. i mean there was this phrase that we kept hearing, called the honest broker. i think that has that miss has been shattered, you know, quite aggressively, not just in this, in this last few weeks, but really in,
10:42 am
over the last decade or more. and so in that sense, i think the idea that there exist a vacuum that could be filled by other states, whether it's russia, whether it's china, states that obviously have, have shown that they have other kinds of ambitions in this region. they're trying to develop relationships with various other states, be a saudi arabia, iran. i'm some of the other kind of major players. and so this obviously would fit into the idea of them stepping into the breach, so to speak, and maybe serving and that kind of broke a role between the various parties. yeah, interesting tables dynamics and i'm sure that that they haven't been have they haven't missed the fact that that the us is going to be very busy and sat and talked to the wiles and unless perhaps engaged with the asian pacific abdul an hour in the professor and associate professor at least history towards any of us who thanks for being with me. the, the moving on to some of the walls here is now at least 2 people have been killed at hundreds injured and found a dash has capital security forces that forth with opposition, protest as police,

chasing me from that feels you'll have, it shows me ways settlers a foot stool and have families trees. they use it to set light to them some hundreds of years old. she says secular tax have increased since the start of the world. most toil on since the 11 abundance has increased. they've stopped even talking to us nights. they just come and beat us some open for killing people. there is no way they will ever entertain even the thought of a mutual understanding between us, new crosses, the barrier attempted to be stopped walking towards he's only the trees. he's ready soldiers near the hilltop, settler outposts begin descending the slope towards him. an object vehicle moves down the road. in the last few minutes, the drone which we understand is being operated by either the settlers. all the army has returned. no. tried to get to his fails, but the local man here is told him to come back because these right in the middle

right? screwed. say the is where the military protects the settlers and often ignore the violence. they commit you and humanitarian offends offices, settler tax against palestinians, and the property of more than doubled since the harmless attacks inside as well. on october the 7th, at least 7 a day, many involving firearms lost and hauled on the season. the terrace settled is organized, they come, they beat us, they take all costs and destroy them. they are armed, they have killed more than one person here in this area. every it that violence gets worse, every year they get closer to where we live, palestinian only farmers have stuff with decades of increasing restricted access to their lands. and these really secular tags this year. like every year, they pick what they can. many more scared than ever before. tell us that, but i'll just get a book and the ok point west bank. well, let's get some thoughts from i've done that already. i'm from georgetown university

here in casa abdullah. it feels like given the tensions and the rhetoric we've been hearing, this is really our need the beginning. yeah, exactly. i mean, i think, you know, we keep hearing that this is a war on gaza. i think we need to reframe this as a war on all the palestine. i mean everything that we're seeing guys in some ways of serving as a risk cover essentially for the broader stuff of land, the intimidation and attacks and harassment, and abuse and killings. with total impunity by settlers in the west bank. i mean this is part of a pattern that has existed for decades in terms of just the gradual shrinking of palestinians be able to live on their own land. most of that being confiscated by these subtler movements that are very much backed, subsidized, protected by the state by the military. and so in that sense, i think the violence, especially of the last few weeks, has to be seen as part of this broader pattern. what we're seeing is that there are a tax increase. give a nursing yahoo as far right coalition, when they came into government, what you make of domestic perceptions as an s and yahoo is government right now.
10:55 am
you know, as a, he is faced a huge amount of criticism in terms of intelligence failures. but i'm wondering whether what we've seen has that has that hardened acid tubes has this war hardened attitudes around around set because items and, and perhaps creating more support for the far right parts of the cup edition. i think so, i mean, to be clear, even the criticisms have nothing yahoo and his government going back many months and you know, things having to do with, with the changes in the judiciary and some of the domestic political issues. never in any sense, really touched on the actual occupation that there was never really any doubt of, among the kind of the broader swats of use really public about the expansion of the state into palestinian territory. and so in some sense that was already present. but now i think certainly we are seeing an intensified, especially with support for subtler violence. but the idea that that, you know, these killings and attacks can go on with total. impunity. we've never really seen any kind of prosecution by the state of any of the people committing these acts of violence. there's never really been any accountability,
10:56 am
but certainly given the tensions that have been running quite high, given what we're seeing in terms of the, the scale of the does of devastation and dest unfolding and gaza. there seems to be much more larger acceptance within israel as far as even the tax and the west bank are concerned. so you're describing really broad public opinion in favor of the war in israel. i wonder whether his voice is because we know that has been voices of defense in israel about about as well as choices here at any of those being pages where if they go on, well, i think those are some important voices. i mean, when we think on the one hand, of course, the families of those be held captive, who are demanding a different approach in part to secure the release and the safety of their loved ones. i think also when we think about that, there are a number of is really human rights organizations that have been quite critical over the years that have to shoot a number of reports that have talked about this as being a state of apartheid that have talked about the idea of trying to, and the occupation and so certainly we've seen also organizations of israeli
10:57 am
soldiers who've refused to serve in part as, as conscientious objectors. and so there's certainly exists that element within society that, that has been vocal, but certainly hasn't yielded the kinds of results that i think many people of conscience around the world would like to see. and then not shifting public sentiment folding. well, i think at least the conversations are there right there happening kind of in terms of, in the discourse within these really process, particularly some of the more or less leading liberal newspapers and networks and so forth. so the conversations are happening, ironically in ways that we don't even seen places like the us in europe and certainly hasn't seen that shift yet. all. it's all very interesting and we'll continue watching very kind of sample out of iran from george county invest here in catholic. thank you for sharing your thoughts. well, before i go for this news hour, i do want to show you a few more if that is drawing pictures that we are guessing in from the gaza strip . shoot for the scale destruction of very large civilian residential neighborhoods that we're giving you much more on that here on al jazeera, i'll be back in just
