6:01 pm
prisoners will be exchange as part of the deal. as harmless release is rainy captains held in guns and is really forces right the to caught them refugee camp in the occupied west banks surrounding hospitals. 6 people are killed, the it is 1500 g m t 5 pm in gaza. that's what israel is counting out. a wave of strikes, hours before a temporary truce is due to come into effect. dozens of people from one family had been killed in jet believe that follows the announcement of a deal between harmless and israel to release 50 captives in gaza during a full day pause in spite to exchange a 150 palestinians in his ready presence. all set to be freed and unlimited amounts of humanitarian aid well into the territory. the deal involves weeks of tools
6:02 pm
mediated by cuts on how much political bureau member most i will model explains how it will be implemented. yeah, me live here. i've done this. nicholas will start on thursday at 10 in the morning. there will be a ceasefire in all regions of the gaza strip. deal with the norwalk lanes of traffic and gaza from 10 am till 4 pm. the red cross will receive all guest these release civilian women and children until the roof of crossing. they will be going to egypt to defend a scene in women and children with serving certain periods. and that is really jails are from the west bank. and they will be going to their houses. we have said since the 1st day that the is really civilians, most of them would, you will, citizens are, will guess me and, and there is no need for them to stay in gosling. we also said since the beginning the beacon leave and go to their places immediately when the seas fire is agreed to
6:03 pm
hold up more on a trip shortly. but 1st, let's speak to totty apple as zoom in con eunice. so tiny, what more we hearing about the strikes and generally a yes, the tax has intensified as we are edging forward to reach us east by within the coming few hours with the east bed. a probation forces had intense upon the range of the domains of its attacks across the territory, starting from the north of the gaza strip, where a residential building below $200.00 families has been completely leveled to the ground where 25 palestinians have been killed them on this uh town and get value out of town. and the also the northern areas of dollars was to assume that tax as many residential buildings were attacked edge in the big lot. yeah. town and even in a town this out their neighborhoods and the font most of the church rates move are these attacks continued even in the south of the gaza strip,
6:04 pm
where we are right now. and how do you, in a city where a residential building belong to the family has been completely destroyed, where 6 palestinians have their report of killed with a number of those of thing to people who have been delivered and taken to a mazda of hospital right now in the south of the church are also rough. our district has been completely attacked by the occupation forces where residential building has been flattened throughout the last couple of hours. usually these kinds of stripe had been conducted before arrival to a ceasefire as different officials from the most movements. and even from the east by the side, had confirmed the possibility of reaching gun agreements with them to come in 24 hours in order to flew. do you monitor and needs to be charge and the release of 50 is very pop search inside the gaza strip. and we'll more we hearing about the strikes in roswell. and homie, han, eunice where you are the right to these
6:05 pm
attacks on the cell is also continued to during the last hour when residential building has been completely destroyed and cardio to city. and also in early hours of today, uh, was uh, farmland, to have been attacked throughout the us by the us entry in the eastern area. so can you, the city also roof our district was us in utah for these by that tax were a residential building has been completely destroyed in rough uh district. now these areas because it it to be safe place for people who have been informed, to flee from the north of the gaza strip to the southern areas. meanwhile, these southern areas are missing the same level of east very bombardment as the number of people has rising to around more than 30000 palestinians who have been injured and will also more than 15000 palestinians have been killed since the beginning of this round of fighting between palestinian fighters documentation forces on the grounds. thanks, i much thought it their life 1st thought adam as him in san eunice cousin. let's take
6:06 pm
a closer look then at the details of this agreement between how my son is right now . it involves the release of 50 is really women and child captives in exchange for a temporary for date see spot. israel is wanting to pause hostilities for a further day for every additional 10 captives released by hand us onto the deal. it is believed about $300.00 trucks of humanitarian aid, including fuel will be allowed into the strip. during the 4 days. israel has agreed not to fly drones for 6 hours a day in the north. how much was concerned is really air operations would be used to gather more intelligence during the temporary see spot. also in the agreement, we believe about a $150.00 palestinian women and children will be released from his right of jails. israel has made it clear that no one convicted of murder will be freed during the temporary ceased by his reading, media, se palestinians who have fled to southern god. oh gods that will not be allowed to
6:07 pm
attend to that homes in the north and the most abreast. of depressing possible this israel says it will resume its bombardment of gauze as soon as the temporary truce is over. so we have correspondence across the region covering the story forces zane . but swaby is live in nablus in the occupied west bank, but we stop with hash and i bought a who is here with us to discuss all of those diplomatic efforts to get to where we also have some good to good to speak with you again. let's just to recap, then 1st of all the what is the expected timeline of all of these where they say the devil lies in the details of the very tricky details in this d of that has to be pinned down before the officially analysis. doing the best of the work and all those final details tonight. and the expectation is that the data is going to be announced tomorrow morning to and as far as, um, the,
6:08 pm
the expected, uh, uh, aids getting, getting through. and then there's also the, the, the release of the, of the palestinian prisoners how, how is all of that coordinated given that content has been the key media to and some of these thoughts. how does that keep me data of a q going to also in this agreement, and this explains why be happy, very cautious you see less and less statements over the last 24 hours. they're looking forward to see this bill implemented to model when it's when it kicks in. they have their own teams operating in different parts here into ha, golf crossing. that would be the as a, with the america's the, i'm the is it with him us. and it's extremely delicate because the moment that was thought the releasing, the captives, how much he's asking for a set of guarantees, security guarantees timeframes. and this is why they say we need this no fly zone window to be implemented north. and we don't want to see an assault is in the southern part of casa, in exchange,
6:09 pm
they want to see immediately $300.00 trucks into does a ton of them filled with fuel. and they say that that to 8 has to go all the way south. and all of those of some of these details the off to be pinned down to night . you have to have these varieties on board. how much on boards, and if that happens, then they will officially, i know is the stopped of the agreement. it could perhaps be one of the most delicate one of the most difficult deals we are to see in years. and so in took it so that it gets so difficult to implement. once more mistake. it could collapse delicate as well because of the fact that israel does not deal with how much directly and so cost. so is the kind of go between so that the, all these different channels of communication when, when hamis says one thing, it's got to go through presumably intermediaries and culture and have him do. and then it goes that goes back to back to diplomacy. that took place in katara over
6:10 pm
the last 3 weeks was phenomenal. and it gives you an idea of the difficulties around. so you had to offer souls from all over the world flying here, intelligence officials. and because it is, it is an extremely difficult situation. so no one talks to how much fuel you want to have. so most of the task step in the outside is how be mediating with all those bodies conveying the message back to the concerned policies, the america's, these violates of egypt. and so i will, can also have the same time to meet you have this agreement then looking into the 2 details, just to give you an idea about how delicate it is about 2 hours ago. how must said it is spotted exchanging the list of the of the of the cop to is, and presenters with these writers. they're looking into those final list. they have their own say, they would say this is our top priority. so let's go with 12, or 3 or 4 of the same time, the waiting to hear from these bodies. how does it work out? these writers would have to talk to them about it,
6:11 pm
cuz other would have to talk to the saudis. the upside is with the how to relate back. some of those concerns already lost all the way to the policy areas. and once the i agree with give the go ahead because we're talking about a loan set set of specific demands and details. some of them are admitted to a, some of the secuity symbols that have to do with the logistics. some of that have to do with a timeframe and with a to trickle into gaza. this explains why the next coming. i was extremely delicate to see so, but at the same time is a great deal of anxiety about what happens when this is biased kicks in. the, or you mentioned the, the, the trucks. earlier they did the 300 the trucks full of 8 and feel that might seem like a large number to a lot of people, but it's really just the trickle compared to what's, what's needed there right now is definitely the, as i said, how is it less than half of what used to get into it goes in normal time plus when you solve the deal, most of those trucks would have to be older than we'd have to be screens it out to
6:12 pm
be checked. and how nice is concerned that this could take some time and they do understand that we'd be under must have pressure by the old people. the moment a gets into has this is what disgruntled people with a weight. you told us that you're going to give this deal for the sake of a coming to us. we're not seeing. they say that they cannot cope with it and go to the people in the gaza strip, i guess the backdrop of what they have gone through over the last few weeks. they don't understand the same type of is riley is made, is clear, but they're not going to allow for a to come from cut them sign in, which is basically full commercial goods. so rough ahead of me is the only point of a crossing of 8 into gaza and is going to be difficult. now the only hope the j cuz i work into it finalized this, which is to allow a to extend beyond the timeframe of 4 days of interest. all right, for the moment hash. and how about a thanks so much out. gushing baskin is a full my is writing, negotiate to who's now the middle east,
6:13 pm
direct to international communities organization. he wants it, some complications might arise from this. the of the deal is entirely, until it's done. and there's so many complications to be involved, particularly with regard to the ceasefire opportunities for either side to shoot at the other opportunities where israel to collect intelligence information. i mean, just imagine what would happen if these were these suddenly discovered the location of u as in war or other leaders from the, from us command. would they wait or would they go and take action if there are palestinians from the north of gaza, who are relocated in the south? now decide to use the next 5 days, 4 or 5 days to try and go back to their homes. and there are parades of hundreds of palestinians walking by foot. are these really is going to allow them, how would they stop them in? we know that when a mass will release the hostages, they will probably use multiple convoys of identical vehicles. a while israel will
6:14 pm
try to trace the location of where these hostages might have been held there, there are all kinds of difficulties and complications that could happen. we have to keep our fingers crossed and pray that it all goes smoothly. because if it does, there could be a 5th day and a 6 day and not all the women and all the children are being released and not all the women and children prisoners are being released. so there's an opportunity to add onto the existing agreement without having to re negotiate something new, which will be again, more difficult. well, let's get them here. then from occupied east jerusalem, where i'm hamlet jump, june is for us. so uh mohammed was israel been saying about this possible to cruise deal and, and uh, when it will, uh, when it will actually start because we are hearing different things about when or what time it might start tomorrow morning. so has them as to when
6:15 pm
it is expected to start. we are now seeing more and more as really officials quoted anonymously and various is rarely publications saying that this deal is to start around 10 am tomorrow. earlier in the day, these officials were saying they believe it would start earlier there around 6 30 am local, but now we're hearing 10 am local tomorrow, and that lines up with what we've heard from how much they spoke earlier in the day . they said they believed that that truth would start taking hold 10 am tomorrow. now, with regard to what we're hearing about this deal. last night, before the cabinet met and discussed in voted and approved this deal, you had prime minister benjamin netanyahu, as well as the defense minister. you are galani and former defense minister, been against was also a member of the work cabinet. and they had a press conference and they all essentially reiterated the same same which was that this was a difficult decision, but it's the right decision to make right now. now clearly,
6:16 pm
that shows not only that the negotiations were tough, but also the fact that is really leadership once to tell its citizens that look, this is not an end to the war that they are going to continue to go after how much that this may not have been the best possible the overall, but if that is the best possible deal for them right now, that's the message that they are trying to convey. in fact, you heard nothing. yahoo say again and again, this is a pause, but it is not in into the war. now. we've also in the last couple of hours started seeing several members of the israeli government, again being quoted and honestly in different is really media outlets saying that they believe that potentially this truce could last up to 10 days if things go well . but as has been said a few moments ago, the devil is really going to be in the details and the closer we get to this going into effect, the more things could potentially go wrong. now here's where we're at that this hour. so after this deal was approved by the cabinet, as of this morning, you had
6:17 pm
a 24 hour period that began starting around at 7 am this morning by which in this 24 hours, essentially anybody in israel can go to the supreme court. they can petition the supreme court to try to stop this deal from taking effect. now we do not expect that the high court will intervene. there have been some groups that are petitioning the court because they object to the fact that palestinian prisoners will be released as part of this deal. but again, there is no indication that the court will intervene. so we do expect that by 10 am tomorrow morning we will get official confirmation that that lowell, that truce has started as to when we might see those captives that are in gauze are being released. well, what we're hearing from israeli officials is that they believe the potentially by tomorrow evening we might seeing them might start seeing them emerge. and what is being discussed is that they believed that the red cross will be playing a role,
6:18 pm
will be facilitating the transport of those captives as they are released as they go across the border crossing into egypt. so there's still a lot to work out. it has been a dynamic situation. it has been a lot of stuff that's been going on behind the scenes diplomatically. but even though is really, leadership continues to say this was a difficult deal and that it may not be the best deal they do believe it is the best deal right now. and they are trying to convince these really public that this is the course of action that is needed to be taken at this particular time. and just to think up on them, how much, what's been the general reaction from, from these really public on this obviously the, the, the, the families uh, welcoming this but say presumably, and especially given the right wing elements in, in, in nets. and yeah, there's government, some uneasiness about about to do going through with this. oh yeah. and hasn't,
6:19 pm
there's been no official polling that's been done as to public reaction since the deal was announced. but as you said, nothing. yeah. who has been under immense pressure, especially from the relatives of those captives, many of whom have been protesting, demonstrating for weeks now you saw in the last several days there was a march that took place of thousands of people marching from tel aviv to jerusalem to try to convince the government to do more to get those captives released. so there was that pressure on that's in yahoo. there's also, as you mentioned, political pressure on nets and yahoo because although the majority of the cabinet as expected, voted to approve this. you did have members even of his own coalition that had objected to it. and that really goes to show some of the internal divisions that have started to emerge in israel. these last few weeks when the war began. you had this rally around the flag effect that was going on amongst the population throughout the country,
6:20 pm
even people who objected to nets and yahoo being prime minister and objected to his leadership. but they were trying to come together in a time of war, not typically in war time. what you see a conventional political wisdom in israel is that you see during war time that people will support the prime minister that they get a bump in popularity. but that's not what's playing out here right now. in survey after survey over the course of the past few weeks. while we do see people overwhelmingly supporting the military and the military action in gaza. they are saying that they do not approve of nothing. yahoo, in fact, his approval ratings and trust and his leadership have plummeted to the lowest levels we've ever seen when it comes to and that's in yahoo. so he has a lot of pressure on him right now to deliver. and especially on this deal. we do expect we will be hearing more from the public in the days to come about is probably when we start seeing those captives being released. but again, we don't expect that we will see you bye. the 1st 10 of those chapters being
6:21 pm
released until the earliest tomorrow. that's what we're hearing from israeli officials who were talking to the media here. and once we start seeing those captives emerging and coming back into israel, then that will determine how the public react going forward. has and all right and how much i'm june that thanks very much. life was there in a occupied east jerusalem. i was just looking at some live pictures now on the from the i is writing israel, gaza border things looking relative, relatively quiet there. right now. do we do see some flags there and we are expecting, as we've been reporting that truce. and that agreed 1st to be implemented at some time, tomorrow morning. how much has always made the freedom of palestinian prisoners? one of the conditions for the release of his riley and foreign captives,
6:22 pm
an estimated $7250.00 full palestinian prisoners held in his riley jails. more than 2000 are in administrative detention. that means they can be held indefinitely without charge or trial. since october 7th is really forces have arrested more than $3000.00 palestinians. and palestinian is railways, including 50 generalists, some have been detained for writing or liking, post on social media that express sympathy for palestinians in gaza. wills and a 170 children. oh, mine is locked up in his riley prisons, writes goods, say they often emotionally and physically abused, and many are accused of thrice stones which can carry a 20 a prison incentive is always the only country that tries children in military course. about 80 of the prisoners women, and they've been accusations of abuse and mistreatment of women in his riley jails . the same as robbie joins us live now from novice in the occupied west bend so
6:23 pm
insane. the issue is the, the whole issue of christmas. there was a very sensitive one where you just just took us through what's being said about this and, and, and the names of those prisoners who might be released as well. where we are here. there are 8 names on that list. 8 names on the list that are exchanging hands between these really and the palestinians. and negotiators of women from novelist, a total of $89.00 women are in, is rarely custody being held by israel. only 33 names of women are overall on those lists. and here we are waiting to find out if any of those 8 for from novice will be released. the family is still haven't been informed by any official authority, not by the prisons of prisoners association or any official body. so there's still a lot of questions hanging over this city over people all across the occupied territories, waiting for any kind of news. so there is both anticipation,
6:24 pm
excitement, but also a great deal of, of, of, for boating. they don't want to get their hopes of the people we've spoken to say that the issue of detention, the issue of being held in prison by their occupier is by the occupying power. and they don't see these really prison system is a form of justice. they don't think they'll get justice for the accused in and as really occupier is court room. people here say that that is a kind of generational trauma. we met one family whose daughter, a sister, a nice woman named to her year was arrested about a year ago. she was named after her uncle, the rear, for freedom more to be freed. and she was born while she was in prison. now if she gets out, she will need a niece who was born while she was in prison. so there was a generational trauma which makes this issue very intrinsic for people. and we spoke to some members of a family of one other woman who was also in prison, whose name is also on the list in the block, the refugee camp. and they say they,
6:25 pm
they've been here before that they have had members of their family detained several and hoping to have them release only to have that person. once again, we arrested, we sentenced on the day that were meant to get out. so there is a great deal of pessimism that this will go well along with anticipation that will possibly lead to the release of, of some family members. but all of this comes in the context of ongoing raids. ongoing arrests, ongoing detentions, 35 people were detained in the occupied westbank just in the last 24 hours. so while there's talk of hundreds being released, doesn't continue to be picked up on a daily basis. and none of those being discussed for release will include people that were detained since october 7th. so many of the past, since we speak to say that as long as israel continues its occupation and continues to do unchecked whatever it wants in posting in communities,
6:26 pm
then these releases could end up and redirects and re sent and saying within a matter of days something they seen in the past and gauge as an important point now as well. that's um the atmosphere has been 10 said where you are in your club westbank foot for much of this year long before the war and gaza broke out and on october 7th. that is correct and a number that it is important to reiterate. as we tell the story, well, hundreds will potentially be released. $7200.00 plus people remain in is really custody. close to $3000.00 of those discussions happen in the last month or so since the war began and wouldn't many of the palestinians we've spoken to in the occupied west bank say is it they wave the release against that figure? they weighed against the 14000 people or so that have died since the war and guys have began one woman we just spoke to in the last hour or so. who was expecting her daughter to be released has gone, grocery shopping has been cooking,
6:27 pm
has been cleaning her room has been preparing for the release of her daughter. remember these people watch on a daily basis. people often taking their last breaths in gaza. they watched the suffering of people, especially children in gaza. this woman said that if it was up to her, if, if it meant that there could be a cease fire in gaza today, she would be willing to stomach her child remaining in prison. design for swaby live for stare in nablus in the occupied west bank. thanks very much thing. meanwhile i has been lost source has told edges here that it was not part of the negotiations between hamis and israel on the ceasefire and exchange of captives and prisoners. but has bullets as it will respect a deal, as long as israel does not violate the agreement. zane holiday has more now of from the tire in southern level. it is relevant on board was not mentioned in the
6:28 pm
text of the temporary tooth agreement between israel and from us. but a source to hezbollah source has pulled l associate or that it will hold fire. it is ready to will fire and abide by the for the truth. if is ro also compliance with that through the source. also explaining that the border of front is a support front that has to pull in support of its allies. that it is not the primary battlefield and that it was not involved in the negotiations that led to this truth agreement. but there is no doubt has the law answer miles have been coordinating militarily and politically sort of as well for on gaza this morning. it has the media release, the photo showing the has the secretary general house on the reason would be visiting deputy head of kelly a l i s i a who was in the boat. so it just shows you how there is coordination as well. who else isn't foreign minister, who iran has this network of arm to groups?
6:29 pm
the so called access of resistance, who have been targeting, as well as through various from various firms, as well as us troops in the hopes of relieving pressure on gaza. iranian foreign minister, very defiant setting, it will be the policy, i mean, people who will decide the fate of, of their land and saying that if the quote heroic allison and resistance that the has really in, in a corner and this stuff, the united states in israel who are losing. so iran showing that it has a central role in this war, but at the same time really showing or showing a defiance rental for the southern level. all right, let's get some reaction now to the some us we action now to these developments. our white house correspondent kimberly how k to join us now. so kimberly, how is this being received there, particularly among the officials of the by and the administration? well, we've had
6:30 pm
a statement from the us president joe biden and himself in the last hour and the us president is welcoming this deal. ad is looking for this extended pause to potentially go even further in terms of humanitarian assistance. if he says he hopes will alleviate the suffering of innocence palestinian families in gaza. the us president says that he is helpful and is looking forward to sitting in touch with the leaders that helps to get to this point. namely the mirror of katara as well as leaders, benjamin netanyahu, and also president cc in egypt. now, the us president says he's looking forward to see all aspects of this deal implemented. he hopes that this will bring home additional american hostages captors rather. and he says he will not stop until all those captains are released . and what, what does this red bit of positive news do then for president biden standing
6:31 pm
politically, does it, does it ease the pressure a little bit? and there's no question that it is definitely easing the pressure little bit and he needs it because his approval ratings are pretty much bottoming out right now in terms of where they've been so far. his presidency at 40 percent. that's not good for president. try to win re election in a really about a year's time. and so the president gets high marks, not on domestic issues, but on foreign policy issues. already. we've seen that with his handling of russia, ukraine, and now it appears also when it comes to a israel's war and how boss. and so this is something, it's the holiday weekend coming up here in the united states. the major thanksgiving holiday, lot of headlines are going to be playing a lot of families sitting around talking about this. that's exactly what this white house is helping will happen. we'll get the present the boost. he needs to win re election next year. a kimberly sites that kimberly how could live for us there in washington to dc. well,
6:32 pm
less cross live now to you and see can we cancel which is meeting at this moment to discuss the impact of the war on gaza. 5 on women and children, catherine russell, speaking right now, the executive director of the unicef let's was name are 6 month old baby. her husband or 2 brothers, excellent theories for children just there by refreshing, how to train workers to stay and effectively deliver monitoring pauses are simply not enough. unicef is calling for an urgent jeanetta trans days. fired immediately put a stop to this cottage. we are concerned that further military escalations in the south gauntlet with explanation reimburse and the monitoring situation. they are causing additional displacement and squeezing civilian population into an even smaller area. tax on the south must be void. it is a strongly opposed to the establishment of so called save,
6:33 pm
so no place is safe in the gaza strip and then imposed sounds do not have big infrastructure or protection measures in place to meet the needs of such large numbers as well. and we also rary our call on the parties to immediately to fully respect international humanitarian and human rights law, including the principles of subsidy. distinction for caution and proportionality. we aspen to go beyond what the law requires to protect children in the civilian infrastructure. they rely on enter immediately and unconditionally release all civilian hostages, all in the gaza strip. especially children a call on the parties to abide by resolution 2712 inch provide safe and unrestricted. she monitoring access to and within the gaza strip, including in the north parties, must allow the immediate entry of by sustaining supplies, including fuel that are needed for tracking water. the salvation water pumping and
6:34 pm
flower production must be permitted to bring in essential bar supplies. tarp lands tens and polls we also call on the parties to ensure the voluntary movement and safe passage for all civilians seeking emergency shelter and the same place to stay, to reopen repair and authentic capacity of all water lines into the gaza strip. and to ensure that the water is safe and not contaminated. excellency is the true cost of this latest warm palestine and israel will be measured in children's lives, those laws to the violence and those forever changed by it. without an end to the fighting and full humanitarian access, the cost will continue to grow exponentially. destruction of gaza and killing of civilians will not break cheese for safety to the region. the people of this region deserved chase only a negotiated political solution, one that prioritize bias and well being of this and future generations,

israeli and pounced in children, can ensure that i urge that are used to she this call, starting with the humanitarian ceasefire. as the 1st step on the path to lasting peace. and i urge you as members of the security council to do everything in your power and this catastrophe for children. thank you very much. i. it's ms garcia. so catherine russell, a there speaking at the to the un security council executive director of the eunice unit assessor, echoing the concerns they have many agencies about the dire situation in gaza. let's go to christmas. salumi who joins us live now from un headquarters there. so a question, what else are we expecting there as well, this is a meeting of the security council that was called for by the united arab emirates and malta, the 2 council members that successfully negotiated
6:36 pm
a resolution calling for humanitarian pauses in gaza by focusing on women and children, so this is a follow up to look at how the situation is progressing for women and children. and uh, the assessment is not good, catherine russell. they are describing gaza as the most dangerous place in the world to be a child with a 150 a day dying. since the start of this conflict 46 days ago, and another 1500 or so estimated to still be under the rubble were heard from other speakers as well representing you and women. that they welcome calls for humanitarian pauses the agreement for humanitarian pauses. that should allow more aid to get in and the exchange of captives being held by her mouth for prisoners being held by israel. many on both sides, women and children who again,
6:37 pm
they are saying are being drown gravely affected by the conflict in gaza. in more children on the way as well, we have the head of you and women reminding everyone that some 5500 women are scheduled to give birth in the next month. and under extremely difficult situations, given that hospitals are barely functioning, there's a shortage of hospital beds and clean water. the breakdown of the sanitation system makes the risk of infectious diseases, very likely. so painting a very grave situation for women and children in particular. one that they say needs more than just a few days. pause to address catherine russell. they are saying the, the war will be judged by its impact on children going forward and expressing a hope shared by many in the council chambers that there will be an end to violence for the sake of children and women. soon a christmas leave me for the life 1st. they're

a un headquarters. thanks very much. or we can speak now to model. i'm a shot. i just need a senior political analyst for more on all of this. so it, we are daylight to talking about this deal, which is now really taking shape and the key to, to, to where things go from here. what we will get a better idea off tomorrow morning, around around there. you're said it's going to be quite quite difficult in terms of it supplementation, but clearly the categories and the way they negotiated the deal. it seems like there's so many stages and phases within this process and that each one would probably depends on the other. so the idea that the, the release of the cap is what happened day by day. and the idea that it is read is, will not have to cannot fly over when this is happening and so on, so forth. all of that is, of course, is complicated, but clearly there is process and clearly these right is after 4 choices,
6:39 pm
hours of discussion have to accept it. but i'll tell you what's really important now. i mean, what can we conclude now that there is a d of signed on by these right is it's actually a exposure as 3 main weaknesses that we could now talk about. one is that the is right is said, because of the way october 7 attack on southern is there and happen is rain is valid that how much will never ever gain anything out of yet that they vowed that it would be the feet and nothing could be done or stop the box with a vote. and now 4647 days later is right, is obliged to submit and to discuss and to make concessions, to help us. second, these really said, so i, the war,
6:40 pm
especially towards the end. that's how much last point control and especially the ship, all right, that it's all spin tool and how much is politically the ship is no longer in touch with its uh uh, military need to ship and its submitted. so they need to ship is no longer control over its militants, because or thank store is or is incredible in bombings of uh gosh, now we know that not only this process but the process goes through, it goes down all sorts of levels of leadership with how much which means how much is that, in fact, fully in communication among its troops among its members, among its leadership on the ground ink, us. and so, and there was this notion that we're going to cut off guys from best in the world. and secondly, we got cut off guys uh from the west bank that was key for them. that guys are basically, we're just going to get terms of it. so with them to see. so what in the sign i saw with whatever, but we got a disconnected from doris. by the way,
6:41 pm
the deal was made. how mouse insisted that prisoners would it be released in the west bank. children from the west bank, old and women from the west bank, reconnecting the idea that this is one people. and that's how much is concern with the people on the west bank just as they are with the people. and gosh, and last but not least, if i may quickly, the whole point of this war and the terms of its objectives wise. the financing, how much 1st got the 2nd and so on. meaning that the release of the cost is what happens to them and it did all protection. and that's why we're already in almost 50 days of war because not that now. and his generals were stubborn enough to think that the minute that only they can take care of the job that they can. they can just do what needs to be done, i think told him to release of the captives. well, they failed miserably. so now what they couldn't accomplish, really, totally. and there are accomplishing politically by making concessions to help. i
6:42 pm
think you mentioned earlier about having us making this connection to the west bank and demonte prisoners be released for from there. so does that speak as well to the frustrations that many palestinians in the west bank have with their government there with the p a with, with, with the best that a thomas are the ones who are, who are getting present is released and no, no, they're not they have gum. absolutely, absolutely. i be looking in the end of the day. that's what is weakening that was sort of the in the, in the, in the west bank, the kind of seeing all sorts of the west bank is, is weak because of it sort of ship with his. right. i know there's some of our subject today, but let me within seconds just summarize the kind of books and what's happening and those things, the policy, you know, sort of in terms of its management of the day through the lives of the 1st thing is in the west bank, i'm talking about municipalities and sewage and education and health. they had been doing a remarkable job. the 1st thing i thought of day, in terms of its management of the day to day life,
6:43 pm
they have been more confident than most other countries. the problem for the 1st single thought at the is it suspect relationship with his red? it's corrupt thing. relationship with his red is dependence on is red. it's submissions to is red except the acceptance of the occupation as, as i stepped to school in the past instead of those. so for the palestinians in the west bank, they feed very much for the bread and garza. and the only thing you would want to do now is just spend not just installed the data, because you don't go to sort of data people. you don't want people use support, you don't people, they would have wanted now to fix a mental of the people in garza and stuffing them. that corrupt relationship with is that why is fixed perhaps to another angle here, because the united states promised dependency. you know sort of thing that if they keep quiet and if they keep the people quiet, wind is, or ad goes as genocide against guys all,
6:44 pm
then maybe they wouldn't be awarded in some form or some post session in the future . now for some of us who've been paying attention that might have just couldn't even pushing us anyhow to do the minimum additional things including 2 weeks ago. just to do a quick, 2 days pause or to our photos. but they're promising a 2 state solution to the policy, you know, sort of getting the best buy. so the 1st thing i thought i'd say is picking americans word for the thinking by those word for it. even though we've learned to torture us history, that americans make these promises about find a science and they could never deliver them because they never really went in with is or they never really use the leverage with this read in order to get it done. and even if they know it doesn't mean that is relevant to just to come back to god's of in for a moment. um is, is there a cause for any sort of optimism, perhaps some way done down the line given that's captives will,
6:45 pm
will be released and that this could be something to build on feature on the short term. uh, depending on the success of the 1st couple of days, my understanding are that the countries have built a process and the process can go beyond 4 days. i guess the process works. the process would continue if the 2 parties deal with it in good faith. then this, there would be possibilities for more expensive pauses with more kept is released and even, you know, did courses release as well on the part of how much to the is ratings. right? so there wouldn't be a process and that could work my way. has a, is not my what a is what they are the is really, is thinking on the reward they heard yesterday from that anyhow, saying it's not a question of if it's a question of when is right is going to invade new in this tiny and this is a city or 400000 people small but probably be doubled by now during the war. and
6:46 pm
now they're, they're basically vowing threatening to do it with a sausage because of what they did to the north of guys. and as just to be used as parents from the unicef director, there are no safe havens in guys. there is no safe places in garza, and this idea of safe zones is a, is a bad joke. is a bad bloody joke. what people go to get killed and that's not, that's not really interesting even for anyone to take is worth for anything anymore . and there's the long term. beyond the process of days or weeks at best, these rate is are vowing to continue with the ethnic cleansing, can guys, that's why they need to be solved. that's why this process of captives is welcome. but this is short term, intermediate term, and long term. some more powerful forces meet to stefan or else we are complicit in the genocide that was going on and got so. 2 senior i just do
6:47 pm
a political analyst model. i'm sure thank if let's take a closer look at the fighting on the ground in gaza. most of the combat areas are in the north is riley forces had been baffling policy and fighters from the cut some brigades. and this led me to had in these regions shaded in red. the st. baffles in a densely populated areas in and around cause a city near the valley a refugee camp. is there any truth and tanks of also reported? we might further advances into these shaded areas in the north and then central gauze. and just beyond where the gaza is, lady forces had been pounding and the say that the refugee camp raising see is a further on the floor. these way the army released this video on tuesday, which appears to have been filled inside chevrolet, a refugee camp. a gauze largest refugee camp has come under heavy bombardment for weeks. now. dozens of palestinians from one family have been killed in the latest
6:48 pm
is way the attacks that attack coming hours before what is expected to be a whole day truce coming into affecting cause of the deal mediated as we've been saying by cuts out egypt and the us how much has agreed to release 50 is really captives held in gaza up to a 150 palestinian women and children held in his riley jails are expected to be released. the deal also involves the entry of $300.00 trucks carrying humanitarian aid and fuel into gaza, or nearby la fossa is the spokesperson of the palestine red crescent society. she says, it is not clear what the truce will need for the thousands of patients in hospitals . the x partition as a court thing for this humanitarian s piece for that would allow, at the best time to have crescent, along with underwater to receive mode. 8 of the are crossing the border, the app daily it trucks that is allowed to get. and since the beginning of the
6:49 pm
escalation is around a $42.00, it drops as we have here, the number of trucks that we'd be allowed to get in during those 4 days is around at $200.00 the trucks. however, we don't have accurate estimation yet regarding the number of the trucks. the main challenge now is up to this moment, we have not been notified that fuel will be allowed to get and particularly at to the work of hospitals. what we have been told as a number of trucks that has a fuel would be allowed to get to the work of the water and punish sanitation and networks, but not for the hospitals. and basically it is now the major's challenge is to allow the entry at all,
6:50 pm
if you will. so hospitals can continue providing their life savings services along with ambulances. so after this moment, no information regarding the entry of, if you will, for hospitals and ambulances, the on the information as a limited amount of if you would be allowed to get into garza during those 4 days of a human interior as his fire. those if you will, will be used for the water and sanitation. not yet a foot hospitals. hopefully we will be a bend them. i mean, like as i was a allowed the entry of you onto the work of hospitals and ambulances, which is now our major challenge because based, sickly hospitalized. as you know, already been out of a few of which have that's why only 9 hospitals out of $35.00 hospitals across the strip. i've been able 3 things. why also not only the problem is if you will, it's also as well that streams with this of the images sent. and then you can

popularize to the bodies of more than a 100 palestinians who died at the ship. uh, and by 10 in hospitals had been buried in a mass grave in hon. eunice in southern garza, 40 something stuck at the hospitals for several days as these really ami refused to allow them to be moved. because a health ministry says 14128 palestinians had been killed in his riley attacks. you'll not say it has moved from san eunice. what you see behind me here is a mosque grace that is being held in, pon eunice, the southern gauze district for 110 palestinians will have been killed in east really a tox. these policy news bodies have come from a ship, a hospital in gaza city where they withheld. but their bodies have decomposed because of the lack of electricity and fuel to operate the more as a ship for many women. and so all together,

6:54 pm
we'd never be out of the city, only one that we've been seeing how they conditions are getting worse and worse side that palestinian prisoners are going to be out of his waiting possibly because they're expecting israel apartments on garza, they believe that most killing is going to happen, but this is a short break. they believe it's much needed for palestinians. they say that they've lost lost hope that the world with them to reach a ceasefire. so they can only have themselves to rely on that, but i need just the occupied westbank elsewhere in the occupied westbank 6 palestinians have been killed in and is really strong. striking to caught him during a rate is ready for his storm. the emergency department at a hospital in the town, they such ambulances and arrested, several injured palestinians. this and then another series of raise
