. john, it must be quite surprising to have this come out as the president was meant to continue on his campaign trail, no fault of his own. oh, but certainly a below for his part to for him. an increasing pressure i imagine, to the timing couldn't possibly be worse for biden, and the contrast is pretty stark. you have donald trump, who just survived and attempted assassination sitting in his glory at the republican national convention, looking invincible. and you sure many people talk about it at that convention trunk about how it was divine providence that spared him this fate. and then is biting. on the other hand, who has his party, you know, many of them trying to get rid of him is their candidate. because he looks so frail in that debate looking week and some of these public appearances and now he's sick

democratic party is in a kind of panic. there is a sense of chaos. a couple of heart harris, his vice president, had been polling will behind bite me in a one on one. competition with trump was now she's a had and she would be the likely successor. if by do for to step back, i suspect what this means is it, those people who have been term and determined behind the scenes to call for bible to step down are likely to become more vocal already. we've had fundraisers pull their money, some of them setting them as a setting that money aside, and it kind of, you know, funds that would be available to the next person but not to joe biden. and it's just, it's just bad news at a bad time when joe biden was out on the campaign trail, trying to look vigorous, trying to show people these really physically and mentally up to the task. and it's just another blow to the sitting practice president. a john,

we understand that the president biden as welcome to reports is we also have another location and he has said that he feels good. we know that he is traveling to his home in delaware and where he is likely to continue receiving treatment. how do you imagine the white house might want to handle the information around his illness and how this is perceived potentially, to me from a public relations perspective? probably the best approach i would think would be just complete transparency because people are already suspicious that the information about joe biden's, health and mental state has been hidden that he's been, is really kept to a close coterie of age that he has not been until recently out in the campaign trails had not been doing big interviews. and then after the debate performance,

can do the job. it's interesting, i listen to his speech yesterday. pretty forceful speech before the in a c p. uh, got a lot of applause, deliberate his lines with, with vigor. he wasn't coughing as he sometimes does in his press conferences and other appearances or uh, you know, uh, stopping to clear his throat or anything like that. so it seems like the symptom smith must have manifested themselves quite recently, and perhaps suddenly, but in any event he's, he tested positive he's on packs loaded now and getting ready to go home and rest. so it's, it's not easy to do when you're the president united states, you don't get a lot of time to put your feet up and lay in bed, especially when running for reelection. we've just been looking at the pictures of the president of boarding info's one. and as you pointed out there of traveling to

a different race or a different gender because they bring something else to the ticket. so i think it's now a really good time to bring pamela harris up and let her continue the work of the ticket. how important is it for the white house to be transparent when communicating about the president's health and exactly what's happening? and if not, what might the repercussions be as well? i mean, i think it's important for the white house to keep the american people re, i think the american people have felt at different points like it. traditionally, the democratic operative that they had tried to make light of some of the things that we've seen with joe biden slowing down and those kinds of things. i think it's important for them to be transparent. but quite frankly, about the democrats. i'm going to be as transparent as donald trump was because taxes. i feel like this, the purity test of being so sort of overly solicited to the public is,

is, is not doing the democrats any favorites by frankly, i think the people need to know that the president as well, that he's healthy, that he's recovery passed slowly. does a good job of helping people bounce back quickly from the disease and i think that's pretty much what we need to know. we don't need to know that in and out of every single possibility because the made of my did and, and they're acting like he already is. them be ultimately because they're campaigning. this is politics. do think the republicans might use this against a joe biden. and i think they will, i mean, i think the republicans have not shown themselves to be the most empathetic when it comes to things like that. i would have felt that they would maintain the pastor that your previous gap had within the president. well, any time that he that out front is probably good for them because donald trump is getting more attention to more media attention. but the,

self isolate, so that's, that's kind of how it went down today. and there was a moment of shock here after people have been waiting for many hours. it's for the president to appear. he was, he was running late, we knew that we didn't know why. and then the, the president of the, we need those us came out and, and made the shocking announcement that the, the present was not going to speak after all. and that he had tested positive for cove it after that everybody made a bee line for the exits. uh, you know, kind of, uh, just made a, the sense in the atmosphere around here among the participants in this, in this conference. um, so the president is on his way back to his home in delaware, where he will arrest a self isolate. presumably, rous receive all the treatment that any one can possibly get at his age. in his

condition for coven. but he will carry out his duties according to the white house press secretary, but he will not be campaigning. so we don't know how long that is going to be going on. but he said the president is, is kind of out of action for the moment. and this comes, of course, at i just terrible time in terms of political strategy for him having suffered through the terrible debate. so many questions about his ability to lead fitness to serve and cascading calls from a number of democrats for him to step down, which he has consistently refuted saying he's not going to step down today. another very prominent democrat, adam shift a candidate for senate in california. also saying that it's time for biden to pass the torch. so again, it's,
