ration from the heart of the story. water stations are switched up for days or weeks of the time. so there is never, you know, flush her to go around the the hello on somebody the, this is the news, our life from dog or coming up in the next 60 minutes. us presidential low for come on, the harris needs these really prime minister benjamin. it's a now a ceasefire and gaza is needed to soon jo biden's words to let's and you all will during his visits to the white house. the 2 days of haro was your accounts of torture from palestine in prison is released by israel

a u. k. police officer suspended off the kicking and something of that, and they hit us on a port. plus, we look at home, mexico's government is successfully checking food and security and its capital by not catching anything. go to waste the we were getting this news all way in the us with vice president carmella harris has mit is ready prime minister benjamin netanyahu. what the white house was earlier she condemned active is responsible for the v t and rhetoric and support of almost the democrats. presumptive presidential nominee is described the protest, his actions as abhorrence. she also condemned the burning of an american flag. and this and how is in washington to discuss a ceasefire and captive release deal for gaza. meanwhile,
1:02 am
us president joe biden told the benjamin netanyahu to accelerate to do for a ceasefire and gaza. that was during a separate meeting in washington dc. if the is really 5 minutes his 1st visit to the white house since 2020, and his 1st trip abroad, asencion mazda attack in israel. on october, 7th, on thursday. these ready, 5 minutes to address congress involving to achieve a total victory against the mazda, and denounced american opponents of the rule as idiots. a mazda responded to the speech accusing that's on the whole of obstructing, if it's to end the war and return the captives. let's go live to practical a news. joining us from washington dc. 30. we've heard from joe biden in the past 2 times as shown, frustration and a lack of progress in achieving the ceasefire. do you think it's likely netanyahu would have heard that sort of tone when he met with the money a and i can only imagine that it was not the friendliest of conversation the by the
1:03 am
ministration. the president itself has been growing increasingly frustrated at what is seen by some as the then yahoo! prime minister is really private, as benjamin netanyahu is really digging in his hills. now publicly. they always blame him off for not getting to a cease fire, but now they're starting to say this folks, people are saying both sides need to compromise. and they're sending the message through the white house that they think they're closer than they've ever been to getting that ceasefire, that the framework has been agreed to. so they're setting that message publicly that these really have agreed to the framework. and there's just some, bridget, some gaps that they need to fill in. they say they are able to fill those in. if the 2 sides are willing to compromise, i think really the what tells you the most about this relationship is that brief moment when photographers are reporters are loaded into the oval office. and the 2 leaders speak. can't remember the last time i saw such a short comment from you as president joe biden,
1:04 am
and even from these really prime minister job i and said, well, we've got a lot to talk about and thank you for being here. and then the prime minister netanyahu, he was a few said in his praise of fighting in his long 10 year invite and talked about past prime ministers. but the whole thing was like a minute 30. and now that was them talk. a lot of it was just standing there for the cameras. so incredibly quick. that in itself should send a message that the relationship is tens. now will it matter me? that doesn't seem likely because the by the ministration has sent these signals before withholding bonds only to give them back, but still withholding 2000 pound bombs. and it hasn't seemed to move the prime minister. so if they did have a tense meeting, it of course will be leaked out, but whether it will actually make a difference. we'll have to wait and see a known to to now who is meeting with cumberland harris on one, and she was the 1st to pool for a ceasefire. but in the last several hours,
1:05 am
she's also condemned. some of the protests we saw outside of congress, how to think talks with home michael, to it's going to be interesting because again, the optics of this were incredibly striking. they were late getting about half an hour late, probably more than that. walk in before the cameras, she wasn't very smiley, she said, you know, i look forward to our conversation. and the apartment is there. so it's something that the reporters in the room couldn't quite understand, but it was incredibly quick. then they went to go, sit down and have their meeting again, not the fuse of praise, and this is very important because this is a going to be a huge issue for vice president harris. obviously, president joe biden has been hammered by progressives by minorities over his handling of the war and gaza. democrats now side, much more with palestinians than they do with is re lease that. i think one of the big takeaways from netanyahu's, entire trip entire visit to the united states is the loss of democratic support.
1:06 am
think about this when brock obama wanted to make the deal with the ran over to nuclear program and i had nothing. yeah. who went basically around him and went to congress to try and get them to schedule the deal. there are plenty of democrats in the audience. half of the democrats in the house, and about half of the democrats and the senate simply refused to attend his speech . we're talking about major players like the former house speaker, nancy pelosi, that is a seismic shift in american politics. so regardless of what the paper statements, the read out, the leaks that come from the meeting. i think the biggest take away here is that israel support for israel has been for decades a bipartisan issue in the united states congress with mister netanyahu. a speech here that is clearly no longer the case. patsy, thanks very much for that. from washington dc. particle hang there. let's put in
1:07 am
jennifer victor, a professor of political science at george mason university. she joins us live from fairfax. virginia. thanks very much. will be with us this evening. jennifer, we are then alphabetical and looking at some of the people who did not attend to that, addressed by a problem. want us to let them know. and congress, she called it a seismic shift. what is your view on that? you know, i think that's exactly right. what we've seen over the last year since the conflict in israel began on october 9th is a really severe fracture within the democratic party. where on the one hand, the democratic party, the coalition includes a lot of jewish numbers and you know, most, most jews in the united states are more likely to identify as democrats, rather than republicans. but the democratic coalition also includes a muslim populations and as the palestinians and arabs and, and others who may be more likely to side or,
1:08 am
or sort of be sympathetic to the palestinian cause than the as rarely cause. and this has caused a huge fracture within the democratic party that joe biden has been trying to balance. he took a lot of criticism for it with all of those university protests through the winter in spring. and, and he, he just sort of waited them out and then universities went on summer break. it'll be interesting to see what happens as we come back in the fall. the situation politically here now in the us with joe biden stuffing down is different. so one thing that i think the tax relates the, that fracture as i see it in the democratic party, was a tweet. and i wish i could attribute it. and i don't remember, i didn't say that, but it was a young american activist, presumably college students who had tweeted out that she was going to be ready to protest. president harris the day after inoculation day, january 21st 2025. but until then, she was going to work hard to elect her. and that was the idea that resonated with
1:09 am
me. it's a, it's a savvy, young person who understands that politics is not always about getting what you wants, but it's about building coalitions and then asking to get your needs met. the white house appears to want to get the seas a file on track. and we see, and it's in your meeting with everyone who possibly can as potentially to appear to his ways that he has the united states behind him. do you think he's achieved that in the last 24 hours and potentially in the next day or 2? is it continues that visit's? yeah, that's a good question. i mean, i think it's important to appreciate that not only does the biden harris team have a, uh, sort of political fracture within their own political coalition that they are dealing with on this issue. but not in yahoo very much has a similar kind of situation back home where a majority of israel is, are against his, is leadership at this moment and yet choose his leadership coalition of these hard
1:10 am
line, right, right. we are, are very much in favor of, of him going forward and really making sure that they destroyed him off before any cease fire or any other agreements is made. and that's a very difficult police politically for a person to be. he's certainly not in yahoo certainly has been more sort of in favor of reciting what they're taking. the behaviors are consistent with what his really call a listen would like to see happen. so, but interestingly, the, the as a is really parliament is going to be going out of sessions for a few for several weeks here. and it will, it'll be interesting to see if that gives netanyahu any kind of wiggle room or, or a room in order to engage in some negotiation or to perhaps even accept the terms of an agreement. we'll be looking for that as this drags on, ultimately tens of thousands of palestinians struggling. do think that there might
1:11 am
be increased attention to their plight when there's so much emphasis on the politics of the situation. and yeah, i think we are increasingly seeing that's, that's certainly the main message that i think all of the student activity that we saw in the spring was really focused on, unfortunately, that protested behavior that we saw that resulted in some vandalism yesterday in washington, dc. didn't seem quite as focused on that and i think we saw vice president harris reacting to that to some extent. but i would certainly expect that uh, i had also seen at a previous statement and i can't date that right now. but a previous statement from cala harris that was much more sympathetic towards palestinian plight and, and recognizing the 10s of thousands, almost $40000.00 deaths. now that have been attributed to the war in palestine despot palestinians. i mean,
1:12 am
and if it is the case that cala harris is going to try to hold her coat coalition together by showing more sympathy and being showing more acknowledgement of the terrible violence and potential were crimes that we seen now in that part of the world that will present an interesting uh shift from the what the. ringback official lighthouse position and whether or not that gives her any difficulty in holding together any potential ceasefire agreement that that might be coming. we'll have to, we'll have to what we can see. all right, jennifer vick to professor of political science at george mason university. thank you very much for your time and your insights. my pleasure. up families of american his way the captives held in garza since october 7th has a met the us presidents and visuals, prime minister in washington. they described the meeting as positive and say they feel optimistic that all of them will be freed. in the near future. we came in

and really emphasizing to the leaders of the united states and of israel, a desire to get this deal done. this 3 phase deal that the president announced a few weeks ago and has been on the bow shooting table in order to return all now 115 of these really hostages. and to end the suffering of the people of god that because the moment they come home is a 150 chilling ends, the madness ends, we feel probably more optimistic than we have since the 1st round of releases. in late november, early december, we're a little over a 100 of israel's hostages. it were released and we got absolute commitment from the, by the ministration and from prime minister and attorney out that they understand the urgency of this moment now to waste no time. and to complete this deal, as it currently stands,
1:14 am
with as little changes humanly possible. we've been in a process of supporting palestinians gathered near the white house for the 2nd day of benjamin netanyahu as us visit. i live in courtney for the is really 5 minutes. does a wrist and i'm in to the blood should in the gaza strip. she, everytime she sent this update from the protest in the us capital or saturdays and pays a much larger exclusion zone outside the white house of another. yeah. whose visit but the housing stops at google. protests is from gathering outside where they come . that message is clear. they have a john, f, a g. a benjamin doesn't go unimportant gallons. and gallons of blogs in the streets, the blood is on that. and you all these times, but also about of us administration. protests is particularly incense by a statement from pamela harris, the presumptive democratic nominee. now condemning the purchase outside the capital, capital hill on wednesday, as,
1:15 am
as the symmetric and volumes. i think it's insane. everyone who is there kind of symbols a man and how about the same demand for the past 9 months. and if you call this is actually listen to the well of the people and they would have listened months ago. it's been 9 months if people are wishing and really hoping for a ceasefire. all of this comes interesting time when even progressive members of the democratic party, a calling on dollars, the protests just to get on board behind. combat hire a support to guys donald trump, but really a lot of the girls are presented as a model is disgusted by your policy. i'm a little convincing. still to do. she ever comes out. is there a washington the well this to now to goes with these ready armies released and live in palestine in prison is many of them show signs of torture. that will take them to alexa hospital in darrell butler for treatment is really forces i'd been holding them in off of

i have had an unwavering commitment to the existence of the state of israel to it's security. and to the people of israel. i said it many times, but it bears repeating. israel has a right to defend itself. and how it does so matters a, a mouse is a brutal terrace organization on october 7, how mos triggered this war when it massacred 1200 innocent people. including $44.00 americans, come off, has committed for basic acts of sexual violence and took $250.00 hostages. there are american citizens who remain captive in gaza. soggy. they go 10 pers goldberg, colin, a don alexander, case siegel on their new truck. and the remains of american

citizens. judy weinstein got a guy, and each time 10 are still being held in gaza. i have met with the families of these american hostages multiple times now. and i've told them each time they are not alone. and i stand with them and president biden, and i are working every day to bring them home. i also expressed with the prime minister, my serious concern about the scale of human suffering and gaza, including the death of far too many innocent civilians. and i made clear my serious concern about the dire humanitarian situation. there was over 2000000 people facing high levels of food and security, and half a 1000000 people facing catastrophic levels of acute food and security.
1:22 am
what has happened in gaza over the past 9 months is devastating. the images of dead children and desperate hungry people fling for safety, sometimes displaced for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time that we cannot look away in the face of these tragedies. we cannot allow ourselves to become num to the suffering, and i will not be silent. thanks to the leadership of our president joe biden. there is a deal on the table for a cease fire and a hostage deal. and it is important that we recall what the deal involved. the 1st phase of the deal would bring about a full cease fire, including a withdrawal of these rally military from population centers and gaza. and the 2nd phase is really military with withdraw from gaza entirely. and it would lead to
1:23 am
a permanent and to the hostilities. it is time for this war to end and the end in a way where israel is secure. all the hostages are released, the suffering of palestinians and gaza ends. and the palestinian people can exercise their right to freedom, dignity, and self determination. there has been hopeful movement and the talks to secure an agreement on this deal. and as i just told prime minister netanyahu, it is time to get this deal done. so to everyone who has been calling for a cease fire and to everyone who yearns for peace, i see you and i hear you. let's get the deal done. so we can get a ceasefire to end the war. let's bring the hostages home and let's provide much needed relief to the palestinian people. and ultimately,
1:24 am
i remain committed to a path forward that can lead to a 2 state solution. and i know right now it is hard to conceive of that prospect, but a 2 state solution is the only path that ensures israel remains a secure, jewish and democratic state. and one that ensures palestinians can finally realize the freedom, security and prosperity that they rightly deserve. and i will close with this then it is important for the american people to remember the war and gaza is not a bind mary issue. however, too often the conversation is binary when the reality is anything but. so i ask my fellow americans to help encourage efforts to acknowledge the complexity, the nuance and the history of the region. let us all condemn terrorism and
1:25 am
violence. let us all do what we can to prevent the suffering of innocent civilians and let us condemn antisemitism. islam, a phobia and hate of any kind and let us work to unite our country. i thank you said to the us, vice president coming to harris, following a meeting with the is where the prime minister benjamin netanyahu. let's go live to practical and she's been listening and she's also in washington dc. apache we've just heard from a comment of harris, one of the main point saying this hopeful movement around reaching a ceasefire agreement. what do you make of this address so far, and what can you tell us about developments uh, from the vice president as well,
1:26 am
there's so much to unpack here. first of all, this wasn't on her schedule. we get the vice president, the president schedule in advance. she wasn't scheduled to give remarks, so this is obviously something that her team thought she needed to do, highly unusual to get in shows the passing of the torch, as the president said, it's usually the sorts of comments would come from the current president joe biden . these are now coming from the vice president cala harris who is likely going to be the democratic nominee. so what do i take away from this speech? the theme was obviously she's started with what you as politicians always say about iron clad support for israel security. but then she spent and much more time than we've heard from the president. we've heard from any other us visuals talking about the suffering of the palestinians. and i think the main point she made it is time to get this done. so that is very much sending a message to not just come off, but to the visiting prime minister. that is what they said in the meeting,
1:27 am
whatever the objections figure it out, it's time to get it done. but again, what this thing is it so striking to me, immediate coverage, my mainstream media coverage here, and especially in conservative media, you do not see truly the level of suffering of the people of gaza. and she specifically mentioned the videos of dead children. you do not see videos of dead children on the american media in gaza. you don't see necessarily the level of starvation. she spent more time talking about the palestinians in this that i think we've heard for most us officials. obviously, she's trying to strike about a balancing act because she knows how much job items on approval, unequivocal support for israel has heard him with the groups that he would have needed to win re election with progresses. with young people with people of color, i thought it was really interesting. she said to everyone who needed calling for
1:28 am
a cease fire. i see you and i hear you. that is the most direct acknowledgement we've heard from anyone within the, by the administration basically saying, yeah, we know, this is a problem and i'm listening to you. she needs to send that message. well saying she supports israel and the palestinians. she supports the 2 state solution, making that clear that that would be her platform if she were to one for when the presidency. and it was also interesting. we've heard pat cutlass politicians, condemned anti semitism. she also condemned islam a phobia. so lots of subtle signatures. there of exactly how she would lead and added to that fatty also asking people to pay attention to the nuances of the region. thanks very much for updating us from washington d. c. a practical in the was still ahead on all to 00 pull from chad way aid agencies say they're running out of supplies to help the discipline great cities crossing into the country,

the program has provided close to $900.00 tons of foods to some of the cities neediest residents, mexican government statistics, say 18 percent of the population. some 24000000 people experience food and security . here the markets director says the programs benefits go beyond feeding the hungry . it's also helping change the mentality around the reuse and disposal of food for people to bring that thing. all goal is to get down to 0 waste, not to have more food banks. so donation centers. we're trying to create awareness and people that nothing should be wasted. that includes restaurants, food stools and public markets that can develop circular economy projects to help them use those products that today are going to waste. on one hand, the scale and impact of these programs has somewhat limited timings and logistics in general. lack of information about that means that tons of food are still lost every day here. you can see some of it here. but for those who rely on them,
