of the united states being involved in iraq, afghanistan, and supporting ukraine. i know also doing was supposed to what's happening in israel and that on tentatively comics the democrats much to talk to them from the advantage. and thanks very much for sure. the back with you shortly. the the it is, oh, $800.00 gmc, that is 3 o'clock in the morning in washington, dc. and you're watching out just here. i'm the clock life my global headquarters and co bringing you extended special coverage of the 2020 for us presidential election. republican candidate donald trump has claimed victory. 35 counting does continue, and his democratic arrival commer harris has yet to concede the key swing state of pennsylvania. that was cool for trump as a short time ago, leaving harris almost no foldable pulse to the 270 electoral votes needed to win
11:01 am
the presidency. trump has already won the key battle ground states of north carolina and georgia and leads. and most of the other swing states were going to help our country hills that help our country. here we have to be at a very bad we were going to fix our borders, where i gotta fix everything about our country history. and the reason is going to be just that we overcame opposite goes that nobody's thought possible. and it is clear that we've achieved the most incredible political look what happened is that the

country is never seen before and nothing like this. i want to thank the american people for the extraordinary honor of being 47 as president 44 official has been following the trump campaign outside the, the west palm beach convention center, florida. right now. and island, as i say, still to be confirmed, but it is no plausible pulse the victory for tomlin harris. and that was an acceptance speech. if ever i heard one, donald trump, a touch on the part of the theme that he has used during the election campaign. but that's what donald trump 1003 ality is in america. they might not always liked the messenger, but they certainly liked the message and that is what propels him to victory. you can see the dozens and dozens, and dozens of people who are leaving the convention center here in west palm beach . having had donald trump part with support is not, was in new york in 2016. let me tell you that whole was a hold that was built for
11:03 am
a concession speech. everyone in the trump campaign thought they were going to lose to hillary clinton. it as a surprise that they actually won this time for this campaign. it was not a surprise. they have the same for a long time to suppose that we're calling a very tight race. we're wrong that did internal pulling was suggesting that donald trump was going to win and possibly one of the line slides and not was dismissed by many people and it seemed unlikely as well. but they are, he has going on one, many states that people were beyond his reach of the likes of georgia where people were talking about the huge registration of democratic go to the fact that north carolina where there is a very popular democratic governor was perhaps going to be too far for donald trump, particularly is coming on how to enter the race. all of those predictions were wrong, the trump team was right, and they delivered the victory. the donald trump hit the road very extensively in the last 2 weeks as some speeches very much the same. people have have again and
11:04 am
again, and we saw people leave the riley's after 1520 minutes that came on, sold them on, and then the left doesn't matter. it resonated with the working class and the middle class people in the united states are voted in their millions to put donald trump back in the office. and you will be the $47.00 president by the looks of things come the 28th of january, 2025. and everybody knew it was a very comfortable that. so going from my when this election, but i imagine that say even by striving, trump supposed to would not have imagined it might have been a quite so easy to the full depends which i'm supposed to you speak to against, i mean, any of them. so the donald trump was good when and when big, he felt a movement in the republican movement, the topic, there's no doubt about that. and as i said before, after what happened in january, the 6th 2021 has to do republicans, could have ended his career. they could have said, we're not dealing with him. we're not going to work with them. but he correctly
11:05 am
pushed the bolt to setup a 3rd party, which would be disastrous for the republican party. and many of whom was in congress. is it accomplishing beef, which would be well we could, we ought to deliver activity through his support ticket dismissed to school dismissal. and then a few weeks back. it was tomorrow i go seeking his approval. that is the grant, the is yeah, the public committee, the people will be watching donald trump closely over the next 4 years. remember, all the conversations that i was in georgia for the debate when i saw essentially joe biden employed at because he was having called bits of problems that people have restarted from. he says it's the we've, he's got a great memory still very much on top of his team, but people will be watching them over the next 4 years because the ever elected as president of the united states. and of course, he's the 1st convicted felon to be elected president of the united states as well
11:06 am
with sentencing in his case in new york, due on the 24th of this month. we saw a little earlier christmas avita the because the drums to campaign manager on stage, what is it that they will think swung the race in the way that way and the way that it did they. here's the thing i was told about a week ago, that at this rate, so would it be a good site for any republican? it was donald trump, the as possibly a drag on the ticket because people did not like him in the way he communicated that condo, not to be true. and they felt that they had a strong case because of the economy over the last 4 years. you can talk about macro economics, you can talk about job, job levels, being unemployment being and as low as level records investment coming into the country. you can talk about how the infrastructure act has been a success, even in republican district. you can talk about the bipartisan bills that the job i
11:07 am
can pass. none of that makes any difference to a family that goes to the grocery store and the weekend to buy food for the family and find out that their money just doesn't go as far as it used to. and the felt if the how much that message that economic message that it would be successful for them. and it turns out that that was absolutely true that will be in problems for donald trump would come about how this was named the no money he did. but we remember back to the republican national convention they gathered in milwaukee. you see that it looks as if donald trump, my, when i knew what the top was, the head and the full of the just survives and the size of the nation. that time on the phone, they were going to win the house, the senate and the white house, and the the one the senate to for the republicans. this has been an incredible political and finally, on another tool, this election taking days. we see the months,
11:08 am
but it certainly hasn't turned out that way. they were sort of legal challenges below. but again, that hasn't been the case for the last couple of harris bring some challenges. moving about what the company's been doing this for, you know, he's already lead to, i'm going to start rebuilding the board. the walls is perhaps going to be introduced. his final people coming in from mainly muslim country and he's going to sign an order closing the us border. he's going to look a proposal to stop a deporting undocumented migrants in the united states stock as a massive deal. if you take that there are 20000000 on documented migrants and those are republicans biggest, perhaps the numbers even higher. how do you even begin to do that with even begin to put them? it's a huge logistical level. so donald trump is on talk to these broad 4 groups and now he's got to start deliberately on the things that people were talking about. he's also going to probably withdraw the united states. i to the potter's climate accord . he's going to impose topics on china. all of these things he's promised to do,
11:09 am
and he's going to sign an executive order to buy a menu from a tons, women from women sports. he says, all of those things he's going to do in the 1st day. he's got a big list of things that he wants to do to essentially 3 executive order. but if he wants to start teaching legislative action to put those in place, the senate and the house to back him up. and so if you could manage to get a lot of the legislation that he wants to put in place to be very quickly, it is going to be a very different kind of a met administration on a quickly we will see it's going to be a very different kind of america on site, so that's what on, that's all the official reporting from west palm beach or outside the convention center where we had donald trump give what he would describe as an acceptance speech. as still no official confirmation though, i have to say, but to write things thoroughly come to her as his nipples will retreat to victory. is that right?
11:10 am
so absolutely. you're absolutely right. so donald trump is at this point, the presumed winter. we're going to stay, but wait for the remaining states to be especially cold before we call him to present a delay. but here's the presumed winter, why it's all about the electoral map as it has been all along. so let's see where we are. stay of the race, $267.00 electoral votes for donald trump. you remember how many he needs to win 270 . that is a finish line. why? therefore, we saying that he has the presumed winter, even though he's not a to 70 yet, because looked at the bottom left corner of your screen. what does that or that is alaska? alaska doesn't usually end up mattering that much in the presidential election, but it carries 3 electoral votes and it is going to go red. it is going to go red. it is one of those that we told you at the beginning of the evening was a safe read state. ok if you have any qualms about that, don't because it's voted read for the last more than half a century. a donald trump, currently a head by 15 percentage points or more in alaska, it is going red. so $267.00 plus 3 equals to 70. and that is why donald trump
11:11 am
reaches the finish line up to 70. interesting here. popular vote, 51 percent for donald trump. it's not completely final 51 to 47. not completely final that may narrow this gap may narrow because you have more votes coming in from california where democrats do very, very well indeed. but he's still at this point, extremely likely, if not entirely certain to win the popular vote. electoral votes we just discussed . number of states, 12626 for donald trump 19 for combat harris. so pretty decisive when i think you would agree we started the evening with the battle ground grid. there were no bad surprises for donald trump. all the red states, the ones that were supposed to go read, went read. what happened is this. georgia went read, north carolina went read, he held the sales and pennsylvania with what, what went read. we told you pennsylvania is the biggest prize of the battleground states. when it went red. basically there was no path left for complet harris to become president to reach those 270 electoral votes. so it ends where it started
11:12 am
with the number of electoral votes to 70 is the finish line. he has 267, he's got 3 in coming from alaska and he's a head by the way. and uh, 4 states that are remaining, arizona, nevada, wisconsin, and michigan. he's the head and all 4 of those he may reach. if he wins all 4 of those, you may reach actually 312 regardless. he gets the 270 nick and that is why he is the presumed winner. all right, so thanks a lot back with you as we get more results. thank you. okay, let's go to mind kind of john, just not from philadelphia or of course we was saying all night long the pennsylvania was absolutely critical to the kinds of it. and so it proved mike having to you is indeed will the blue ball along the great lakes has cracked donald trump taking pennsylvania. now this was the chrome jewel between the candidates. during the recent months of the campaign, the campaigns visit to the area, the state over
11:13 am
a 100 times on the day before the election, cumberland harris spent the entire day within the straight. it was just an indication of how important it was. and it's also not just the victory, but it's the nature of the victory that is particularly instructive compared to 2020. the republicans have actually getting boats in the 61 of the 67 counties within pennsylvania. and interestingly enough, that in philadelphia itself, which is where i am, which has always been solidly blue. although harris, one most of the boats, it still showed a $5.00 point drift towards the republicans. so this was a mass of victory within pennsylvania. and indeed, it appears on a national scale as well. now, pennsylvania has voted for every president since barracka bama in 2000 and a 10. it appears that the tradition continues. mike said, well,
11:14 am
when you know in the final analysis, what is it the trump actually managed to do to win the state a. it's a very good question. he did spend a lot of time here as did come a lot higher as he held his values here. as did come with a high risk, but it does appear that there was a degree of over confidence, perhaps on the part of the democrats. they were absolutely certain that they had run a really good campaign. here they were a to via the states, while the popular governor judge shapiro, who basically gave over his entire mechanism to the harris campaign. and they said they had a hundreds of thousands of buttons. he is out, they knocked on millions of dollars. they did everything that they should have done in terms of making it a successful campaign. but something went wrong somewhere. perhaps it was not a break brokering the issue of the economy full on perhaps as
11:15 am
a nature of pennsylvania itself, which has been drifting away from that solidly blue state is towards red uh for a period of time. now this now being a made in concrete, it does appear the demographic ships within pennsylvania state. all of these factors would appear to come together, but in the end, the result would appear to show one simple thing that the people of pennsylvania the boat is so that donald trump is the better candidate. mike, thanks for the outset. mike, kind of the in philadelphia in the critical state of pennsylvania, which adult film has one well come to her as a said she will not address. so support this tonight. let's say from kimberly how it good. he's in washington dc and has the latest from the democratic party campaign, the following week showings for the vice president in several competitive states and with her rival, republican challenger, donald trump,
11:16 am
in the battleground states of pennsylvania, michigan ad, wisconsin, vice president, comma, la harris, deciding not to address her supporters at howard university, instead deciding that she would speak to her supporters on wednesday as announced by her co chair. cedric richmond. we still have votes to count. we still have states that have not been called yet. we will continue overnight to fight to make sure that every vote is counted, that every voice has spoken. so you won't hear from the vice president tonight, but you will hear from her tomorrow. she will be back here tomorrow to address not only the h u family, not only to address those supporters,
11:17 am
but to address the nation. so thank you. we believe in you may god bless you. mega t u a g o h u n g o harris. thank you. oh, the pathway is starting to narrow for comma le harris. there is still an opportunity for her to win the white house. the harris campaign has assembled a substantial legal team and is prepared to lodge a number of legal challenges. should it be necessary, as should donald trump for republican rival, declare victory prematurely? kimberly health m l g 0, washington. well let's bring in a guess who will be with us here through the torture of his son is a democratic people. stressed isn't found in principle. accommodate communications, james davis republican strategist. so james, to start with you. uh, how surprised all you. i gave you, still counting, but there's no pills but we're,
11:18 am
it's, it's a done deal. i think. how surprised all you by the degree of victory? well, looking at the early indicators, i felt that donald trump would more is more likely than not to win the election. however, it's, it seems pretty decisive. i mean, i did not expect them to win the popular vote. it looks like he might bind a clean sweep of most of the swing states. that is rather impressive. and this is a record turnout election. right. the democrats have always said, and you know, it bears out in some numbers, right? that high turnout elections tend to favor democrats. this is a high turnout election and he might win the popular mo. like that's, that's rather impressive. i think that's 2 things going on. one is he tapped into the frustrations that americans felt he, he made them adult, seen and known. i talk about this in an, in our, with our clients and communications. you know, he's validated where they felt like they felt like they've been left behind. he
11:19 am
made sure that he resonated on that message for them. he felt like, yeah, they felt like maybe felt like their communities were on the safe. he leaned in there. mean he felt like the forever wars where he's going to link or over us. he leaned in there, so he ran a really good campaign is best campaign is run by far. this team was much more disciplined overall, his campaign managers can base that. i think susie, why also christmas to be that they deserve a lot of credit for bringing more discipline to the campaign. he's still donald trump is still goes off script. but and when he did, you know, it kinda hurts him a bit. but obviously the pablo's hardwood they are, the boats are where they are from it. and also from a democratic point of view, i mean could say it wasn't even close. can't say that yes, no, right. the states that haven't been counted yet are in california, oregon washington. now listen, we know where they're gonna go, and it looks like we know where the electromagnet is going to be. but california
11:20 am
has millions of voters, so not really ready to talk about the popular vote yet. all right. um, but nevertheless not a good night and anyway, for the demo, this is a terrible night. now i agree with that. and so when they come to look at what went wrong, what would they focus on? again, so early to tell one of the things that i would be if i were out here asking questions . and i am out here asking questions a towards the end of the campaign, the last few weeks of the campaign, you can see a shift in the voters and the messaging that the harris campaign was targeted. trying to get republicans to cross over. you said it was list cheney always out on the trail, right. so this is as happens often in the last stretch to try and get the moderate middle kind of voters. now it's been a long time, a assertion in mind that there just aren't that many people in the middle. there may be undecided voters within the ideologically middle. i'm worried that come with harris hadn't sufficiently short up her base in places that it really mattered.
11:21 am
there are far more people who agree with democratic values, but don't often vote then there are people who often vote but can't figure out which side of their on. all right, well the said, democrats have to do some serious naval claim. daisy, what about looking ahead to this presidency and as much as far as for foreign policy is concerned, we're getting lots of a wide drops here about prism macro needs. congratulations, donald trump. they just mock route to the 2nd general mot reset his congratulations . by them is a lensky presidency, a crate. it's a big deal for him. donald trump, now what's gonna happen in your crime? for example, i think that america, how quickly moves, how, of any engagement in the, for any kind of foreign wars. and it's just what donald trump said is we've got to put america 1st. he doesn't see that and engaging in wars around the globe as putting america 1st. i think he will certainly use the power and in threats to ensure that there's as much peace as possible. and i know he's been effective at
11:22 am
that before in terms of what, what, what he's looking for as president. i was struck by a few things that he said tonight in his, i guess accepted speech and he's, he's, it was positive. it was over the overall like that was one of the more positive features i've heard him get. it was also much shorter than most features. i've heard them get. friday was the so he was advised to write and he wants to heal the country. he wants to. he felt like his life was spared for a reason, and it was to fix the problems in our country to be a president for all americans. i mean, he thank everyone under the sun. he name is safe. thank you for boating for me. so thank you for voting for this group of people like that. there's like, that's a little bit of a pivot for the way he normally cox. and so it's a positive tone overall. i hope he can keep a positive tone. i hope he stays in that way of trying to bring people together.
11:23 am
everyone wants to be liked. and so if he can, if he can effectively start building some coalitions to get this some things done and he said success will gain trust to get success. right, and also bringing people together is just essential, isn't it more than that, but because it is, has been a profound time of put her eyes ation one year ago, donald trump said that immigrants are poisoning the delight of this country. how do you come back from that? that is a line that if he wasn't quoting hitler, it is just a crazy coincidence. but it tells me my family that he doesn't consider us part of this country that he considers us points him. so he, he can say he wants to bring us all together, but then i need to know that if i'm part of this country, or if he considers me present, or jesus, well are obviously, he's rolled on illegal immigration. that's been the big focus of, of,
11:24 am
of most and does immigration comp comments. and so he has a diverse coalition, a very, very diverse coalition. and i think a mandate in many ways for the american people to fix some of the problems and change course. all right guys will leave that for the moment. so i shouldn't, james, thanks very much. indeed. well, it was your even little bit later, we're going to head to michigan now to detroit, where the resume is live for us. it's a choice of what's happening. the a while i'm right here, we're both continuing to be counted in the city of detroit. the vote from wayne county, the largest in michigan, and it seems almost impossible right now for camera tires to be able to reverse what is happening here. but the latest results we have is that donald trump is winning with around 52 percent of the votes against cabinet harris, who's got around 45 percent of the vote sending of it. when you look at the results
11:25 am
available, it shows a bit of what we've been seeing in the stage since we arrived here. early polls showed that come to harris, for example, with lagging behind among african american men. she came here during the weekend, appealing to african american voters. she went to a church service later on, she visited a football american football player, appealing to voters. they represent around 13 percent of the volts in the states. again, she was also appealing to blue carter workers that poll suggested that she was lagging behind, a blue collar workers in the states. and then of course, the impacts along the arab american community. in this country, they use the city of deer and board, for example, also on wayne county, where the votes are being counted right now. re present the largest concentration of muslim arab americans in this country. and traditionally they used to vote for the democratic party, but the change that clearly change we have some results from the city of dearborn,
11:26 am
for example. well, donald trump apparently got around 46 percent of the votes. if compared to cameron, the higher school around 28 percent of the votes throughout the day, we were talking to people. many of them telling us that the voted for donald trump, because they believed that he's going to be a strong president and, and the war. many others that we spoke to said that they bolted for the green party candidate jill science. so suddenly this was a punishable we know. so people very, very angry with a current that varies patients. in fact, they were celebrating that's kind of my, the harris i could use in the states and that was not, there were no celebration. most of the people we spoke to say that they weren't morning because of the ongoing wars and been released and that this election here in the united states was very, very personal for them. so suddenly, when we've been seeing here is that those for voted for donors from mosley dated because of concerns over the economy, inflation,
11:27 am
lots of jobs in the states that have been ongoing along the auto industry for example. and among a very small community, but a very important community, the muslim arab americans was suddenly the ongoing wars in the middle east. yeah, that's an important part of the, the michigan. basically, jacob was browser and of course with a sized numbers you say of our, of americans. is it possible to say, do you think, you know what, to what degree that actually has an influence in michigan? well certainly, i mean, even though our of american voters, we present only one percent of the registered voters in the united states. they're located in a key swing state like michigan and be played across a role in the selection. in fact, donald trump visited the community last friday, he went there and met with arab americans. again, he spoke about peace among many other things. and traditionally, the must be matter of american community here voted for the democratic party. i'm
11:28 am
that clearly clearly changed in the selection everyone we spoke to today was extremely angry with what's going on in the me least right now, the war on guys of the war and living on people concerned about their relatives leaving their, their relatives being killed there. there's lots of anger, lots of frustration with that democratic party, and certainly that paid a role in the results that we're seeing here today. back to the latest result we've seen regarding tablet, harry. so, you know, the arab american community say that from now on politicians shouldn't take their vote for granted. they one's a foreign policy to play a crucial role, you know, as their community to be able to influence the united states foreign policy. but they hope that the selection was send a strong message to the united states politicians. teresa, thank you for that to resume that in detroit. michigan. well, things have moved on since we last touched base with james base in washington, dc james over to you and they got a lot to talk about from
11:29 am
a volunteer each point here overlooking the white house. as you know, donald trump, the presumed way that that means that he from january to twenty's almost certain to be the new residents of the building that will overlooking, to discuss the list again, joint cheney democratic strategist, and john ferry, republican strategist. so a joy we, we think a certain what he, what has happened now, but we don't yet have a concession from cumberland harris. are you surprised by that? so do you think is normal to wait until all of the votes accounts? it's totally normal. i think we're expecting her to wait till all the votes are counted. i'm sure that we will see something from her unless something major changes. we'll hear from her probably tomorrow. john, in terms of that speech that we heard from west palm beach. i mean, i was interested by the tone of that because he was using, i think it will say to you at the beginning. so they prepared it. yeah. it was
11:30 am
quite measured compatible compared of course, with some of the things we heard in the final stage of the campaign that lashing out at nancy pelosi some of the language the with is using. do you think other than we've seen sometimes quanch's speech is by donald trump. i do think deliberately a new tone. oh yeah, absolutely. cuz he wants, i mean he was not running for the white house anymore. he was present winter of for the the race. and he wanted to be conciliatory, also wants to think a lot of people in the crowd that helped them. and i think you know, a lot of the same things of what he wants to do while while he's present. but the, i think this tone was much different and you'd expect that in some sort of us speech where he was happy to win. yeah. enjoy. i mean, we know ever thing like that as being said, about donald, we know everything that, that the, you know the facts about donald trump. he is a convicted felon. here we know that your policy says also generally the, the 6 he is not fit to be president, correct, and he is
