donald trump declares victory in the us presidential election, telling americans he's going to help heal the country. the celebrations that republican parties across the united states, as they also pick up enough seats to win control of the senate. we will continue overnight to fight to make sure that every vote is counted, that every voice has spoken a more somber tone coming from pamela harris county. the democratic candidate will not address the public for now. and the results might still be rolling in, but the world is beginning to react. so we'll bring you the latest from gaza 11 on iran and china, the it's 10 gm's. the last 5 am in washington where americans are now waking up to an

entirely different political landscape. the republican candidate donald trump, has declared victory in the presidential election. the vote counting is still under way, and his democratic rival kind of le harris has not yet conceded. the crucial swing state of pennsylvania was called for trump earlier leaving harris with nearly no plausible pos to the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency. trump has already won the battle ground states of north carolina and georgia, and he leads in most other swing states, ross and jordan begins to recover it from washington dc. most americans assumed they go to bed tuesday night, not knowing who would be there next president. but presumed, were public and winter. donald trump told his supporters at a late night party, they were seeing the with we're going to help our country hills that help

our country. here we have to be at a very bad we were gonna fix our borders where i gotta fix everything about our country history. the reason is going to be just that we overcame opposite goes that nobody thought possible. and it is that clear that we've achieved the most incredible political look what happened is the democratic candidate total here is, is refusing to concede who age told supporters to state to we still have boats to count. we still have states that have not been called yet. we will continue overnight to fight to make sure that every vote is counted. that every voice has spoken. harris and trump had spent the past 15 weeks criss

crossing the nation, looking for enough boats to put one of them in the point. you know, in the end victory came down to how each performed in the 7 swing states. what's more, republicans re took control of the senate and are likely to hold on control of the house, giving them the power to pass the trumps agenda was at least a 3rd of the countries. 240000000 eligible voters cast ballots early in wisconsin. some $30000.00 boats had to be recounted in philadelphia. officials pushed back against trump's allegations of cheating. philadelphia, let's see. so sure, we have always been cheated to it. the biggest fear that a vote or intimidation or violence did not come true. the final votes are still being counted, accomplished harris clients to address her supporters later on wednesday. but at
1:05 pm
the moment, it appears donald trump and his fellow republicans have taken control of the american government. rosalyn jordan elder, 0 washington as well, and fisher has more now from west palm beach and florida the terms of holders absolutely delighted with the news that he has likely won the election. many of them seeing that he is back, they thought that he was rob the election in 2020 but no, that role has been put right with his victory. now that note for weeks we were told the phrase was going to be incredibly type of scene said that they are mine was doing much better than anyone expected. then he was going to win in places of it. republicans had one in a long time, tons of the trump team were absolutely support on donald trump know we'll put together his transition team looking at putting in place in the government, people who will do his bidding, who are loyal to him. he's made that clear the last time,
1:06 pm
right. and they were established with figures. he was new to washington. but now he comes to the oval office with experience and a grievance to get his agenda pushed through no matter what. and when he goes to the office is taken by the new president on the 20th of january next year. it's almost definitely going to be donald trump on the steps of the capital in washington. allison, sure. i'll just see the west palm beach, florida. okay. and uh, we're gonna cross over to washington now and bringing she have her time to joining us from there. so washington, waking up to the events of the night, she have what reaction has come through and it wasn't, it is just waking up. i think those in the establishment democratic policy will be using this time the best sleep if they all sleep thing to try and figure out what to say. because basically harris did everything that the establishment democratic party wants to to run the campaign to the rights pledge to crack down on the asylum seekers embrace the, the big training and lives training. pledge to, you know,
1:07 pm
be tough on restaurant driving the foreign policy. well. so bad at best will they won't teach the sort of did everything. although we were already beginning to hear the establishment democratic commentary, i'd say, well she, she obviously is to face those think she's too radical and left way progressed. it was in the democratic party as saying that we told you this was going to happen. you come from on vibes. it's still not say what you actually do stand before you didn't put forward a progressive economic platform. and it's interesting with the ballot initiatives, individual ballot initiatives up and down the country. when tell us things that are often very progressive, you know, paid sick leave. female, reproductive rights. wrong baby boss the out before hire. so. so because people didn't know what she stood for, especially then on dollars this specifically event, we have michigan, we have the sense that i'm gonna give a pose of our 10 to swing states if she cooled for an alms that ball go is row that would do very well along swing by to she refused to do that. she didn't say what
1:08 pm
she was going to do. and why is that? why wasn't she following the polls? which are give us a proper economic platform to make our lives better? i'm talk about how you want to shop the goals are, will down. well, i mean them, you get to the, if there is a why, how american politics work, there's a lot about will be an extra things. it's all the time in our class things and who is bank? rarely harris's campaign. well, came so bottom one issue 1000000000 ad done there. he says, look, you know, i'll blow bank problem, democratic body, but you have to just support as well. no matter what i meant, she was supported by wall street venture capitalist, silicon valley. so i, you know, who was sort of boasting, but she was going to robot some of the few progressive things a biting actually did while in office. so she couldn't necessarily then talk about that, so we distribute to the agenda, if she, if he came to office, she kept vague on purpose because he was always struggling that line. and then that know, meanwhile though she was doing was the, the democratic party or stop it or it says, which is forget about the bass. better will always be that, that terrified of trump that always come to you. but then just keep on keeping on
1:09 pm
trying to get circle. moderate republicans who don't like donald trump bounce back 5 spectacularly. she's lost of every key demographic, but the democratic party and joe biden relied upon and 2020 the latino is asians under 30 unions. you're looking at margins on the east coast, new york, new jersey, massachusetts, rhode island, connecticut, vermont, maryland, delaware. these are suppressing the hotline to the democratic party, the margins, some of the slim is ever for the democratic party. so when i met with less than, i don't know already, the democratic establishment is actually wasn't writing enough. so yeah, and i me, and this isn't necessarily about what players actually want, but it's what, what the donors are telling us. she has to do. got it. okay. she help thank you so much for that reporting from washington dc. well, let's take stock of where things stand right at this moment and any of your thoughts. yeah, during while the story of the evening is really what's as time spies in the state of pennsylvania. and of course it's like the swing state with 19 electoral college
1:10 pm
votes. and it was, of course, going to be donald trump's charles to take this important states. he has claimed those 19 electoral college votes. here's the breakdown, 51 percent to 48 percent. as you can see, we're almost a 100 percent when it comes to the reporting of the votes that but let's move to wisconsin another one of those key fossil grams. states in the northern miss midwest. as long as the world, lots of dairy farms is often referred to sometimes as the dairy state because of that, we're looking at with 94 percent of the boat's being reported. the trump edging it with the 51 to 48 percent back in 2000 at and. busy a back of the last election uh that was one by the, by joe biden. of course, he's now being able to donald trump, that is flip the state and the other way. so let's take a look at the state of the race. we still got a bit of gray here. we still, we still got nevada, arizona, wisconsin, michigan still to go. but even if couple of hours was to win, all of these,
1:11 pm
she was still full short of the $270.00. that is vital to pay if the way for her to the presidency. but when it comes to donald trump, the only really needs now is one of those to full in his direction and he's got it . and it's very much likely to be alaska with his 3 electoral college, but let's have a look at the battle ground grid here. no surprises here. ready this is the will be read states they will remain freebie, right? of course, the leading a republican state, some of them have gone that talk a shade of red, similar story on the other side of the battle ground. great as well. the blue states remaining blue, but i think it's important to know that even in places like new york and in the road i islands, if you look at some of the county votes we have seen coming on how is to slightly less than joe biden in the previous election, but of course this is where it matches the $93.00 electoral college votes that exist within the 7 swing states. and now that north carolina, georgia and pennsylvania have gone trump's way. it means pretty much that was 0
1:12 pm
tron school will come of the house to be able to salvage the, the defeat from the salvage, i think on a victory from the jaws of defeat. so let's look at the big picture. the electoral votes, 267-2224. as i mentioned, only 3 electoral college roads short on surprise, which is why this evening. during donald trump appears to be already willing to toast is when that's what it appears to be new. thank you. so much for the time being. well, let's bring in our panel of gas now and joined by scott lucas is a professor a few as an international politics at the university college dublin, and natasha lyn state who is a professor of us government at the university of essex. thanks for your time. let me just, scott lucas will start with you just just give me your sense of how things transpired and how you assess the situation right now. why change the starting point? that is to say,
1:13 pm
we need to be conscious of this in the media. tasha this wherever we are in the world, this is not no uh there it is, an anger and a reset in the united states, which has been there for quite some time. it's been there with the trauma since $911.00. it's been there with a great financial crash, greater session in 2008, 2009. it was there in 2016 when donald trump explore that. and he exported yeah. he was able to explore that again because the american political system itself is, is damaged. it didn't branch when he tried to overthrow it in 2021. but that so the actual facts about the economy. i could talk to you about inflation for me down significantly since 2022. when we had the coast covered shocks, i could talk to you about g d p growth for 3.5 percent. i can talk to you about the lowest unemployment rate since the 19 sixty's. i should talk to you about the infrastructure bill. i talked to you about to the bill back of her bill,
1:14 pm
but in the media was talking about that harris campaign. i. disagreeable, who would you for spawn of the heroes campaign was not say you did put out policies . it did refer to what it did. but donald trump's kind of chaotic just campaign a spectacle on it sucked all the oxygen out of the room. and at the end of the day, it exploited that anger and that resentment which means we have to acknowledge that he will be going back to the white house. and we have to acknowledge that rather than sure, all of deals with us in the world were likely to go into a much more dangerous era, a much more dangerous era for americans and for the world. because this will not be a coherent us policy. for america, for stability. okay. it will be a policy pursued for donald trump. okay. on that point uh that you make about the world will come back to about in a moment but let me ring and natasha. natasha. i mean, do you agree with scott lucas,
1:15 pm
and is this perhaps according to him of failure of the political system in the us and what does the voting and the way that it's gone, tell you about the psyche of the american voter and what's important to them natasha can you hear me? yeah, sorry. i would agree that there are definitely issues of representation. there are problems with the 2 party system. but i think the big story was that americans believed that he was better at running the economy, whether it's true or not. and we don't really have evidence of that because he was able to inherit a strong economy from obama, but that's what they thought was the issue. they were upset about gas prices being too high. they were upset about groceries being too high, even though inflation was going down and actually was down to the,
1:16 pm
the levels that it was during the term and ministration. but i think the other issue is that there are very different sets of information that people are getting . and you have many americans watching fox news and other conservative listening to other conservative radio outlets that are for training a completely different world. then the other news outlets are, are offering americans. and so if we are not agreeing on the facts, if we have 2 different sets of information about what is, how many i mean you have fox news, not even showing some of these rallies. we're trump was clearly showing signs of mental decline and, and was attacking his opponents and being repetitive and engaging in all kinds of protests using grotesque words and swearing and so forth. many americans just weren't seeing this. what they were focusing on was that their peers about the american demographics changing rise and integration, and that keeps going to fix this and that he would solve their economic was and
1:17 pm
they came down to this and this became much more important factor. then the threats posed by trump to, to democracy, to reproductive rights, and just to common decency. huh. so in your opinion, so that's also, i'll just stick with you for one more. i mean, what do you think the hair is campaign did wrong? we can say that or so the harris campaign tried to move to the middle. maybe that was a risk by trying to, to cater to republicans. i would agree to scott that i didn't think she had a clear platform. i don't know how it could've been clear. i mean, when she was cleaning that and she was going to get the child tax credits that she was going to offer support for the 1st time. homebuyers is she was going to reduce the cost of pharmaceutical drugs. well trumps big child care plan was child care's child care, and his health care plan was the concepts of the plan. there was a huge difference in terms of the clarity of what there are specific plans where i
1:18 pm
think maybe the problem was in the end that she, she didn't do enough to get out the democratic base. and i think another problem was something that she really couldn't control she up to the race. so early or at least you only have, you know, a couple of months. so that so, so late, i should say in, in the campaign. but she didn't have enough chance to, to really connect with the american voter. but i think another factor that we really have to pay attention to is, i really am concerned of sexism in america, racism in america, that these are still 2 issues that have not been resolved to what extent people just didn't want to vote for women, or they didn't want to vote for someone who they perceived to be too far to the left. i think there are certain things that her candidacy was just unable to overcome. scott, you were mentioning just a moment ago about the impact this could have on, on the world and facts when it comes to foreign policy. i mean,
1:19 pm
a lot of people would say that trump has a record of unpredictability. so this is going to be a challenge as a non for foreign policy, and particularly for fellow members of the nato alliance. let's just be very clear on where we are and very specific. and that is that donald trump prefers foreign leaders who flatter donald trump for blood reporting and russia. that's a case in point. and so the effect of that is going to be that trump is going to abandon you crime. he is going to effectively crop up the crypt wants to attempt to seize more than 25 percent of your granite interior trade. and i think will probably have a parallel to west germany eastern right in the cold point as well. donald trump is very clear that whatever you think of the buy insurance policy, which i disagree with, original gossip, he's going to give an unconditional support for netanyahu. he's not going to attempt to pull that now her back in any way. and that of course names the thought
1:20 pm
open ended warrant johnson and possibly loving on will expand. in other areas, donald trump will work on when will tear us, will it be a global term for 10 percent? 15 percent. 20 percent will be 60 percent on china. will he impose a 20000 percent sure off on automobiles? russia said only a couple of weeks ago. the point here is, is that international relations depend on choose x. they depend on having adults in the run. and i depend on the rules of the game. we're not sure we're going to have adults in the room in terms of not only traffic, but it isn't our circle and we certainly aren't going to have the rules of the game under which we've operated for decades. okay, we'll leave it there. scott lacrosse, that's ashland. say we thank you so much for joining us on al jazeera. what we have now with us, my one of the shadow. he's also 0 senior political analyst model. on a few you wrote on x, that's an american political soon. i'm using a making a tipping point is an understatement. what do you mean by that? i didn't know anyone read this stuff when i started this or in the
1:21 pm
past 3 decades or so when i cover the american elections and has a student of american history. i tell you, we are at a major breakthrough, a major turning point so much so that i called the a tsunami. in fact, it's an earthquake as while leading to action on me. i think it's going to change america profoundly in as much as it would change america for the policy. but america domestically wouldn't be far more effective than for them policy per se. i think it might spell the end of american liberality as we knew it in the 20th century. how so at least since roosevelt and so on, so forth. social programs, social liberalism, um, in terms of equality in terms of the federal government in terms of that
1:22 pm
relationship with your federal government and state themselves so forth. all of that is about to change in a dramatic way. and why is it going to change that or like the quick, because up on the what is trump entering the white house? he's also having a republican majority in the senate and perhaps from the house. and he has a co certification majority in the supreme court of the united states. he's also the commander in chief of the armed forces, meaning he can do whatever he wants and you have no doubt that he will be doing whatever he wants when it comes to the to he wants to, especially those that he said that he wants to them during the campaign, see because we have a track record of him 40 years. we know what he wants, and the past, at least 2 years during the campaign, he's been sending us again and again, for example, one, the question of immigration was going to be huge. and it's gonna affect like an america and a big way of relationship with mexico and so on, so forth. he's been sending us what he wants to, with russia, ukraine, a need to and you'll be in security. he's doubling down on the idea of the united
1:23 pm
states is not going to be subsidizing anyone's charged war. and he's now not going to be subsidizing european security structure. he's also saying that this needs to shape up. he wants actually nothing you know, to end the war. but when it comes to the questions of them at least, which of course is in a lot of people's mind than our region. see one of the things like, for example, your former guess than other people have been saying that they're looking at it from sort of a linear one. so aids which is what, what some do. i think the question for the rest of us is, what was the autopay? they're still big or the then put time to do this? that's what the other thing. because we know what nathaniel, who wants and what he wants to do. he wants to annex the west bank and he wants to occupy much of got us, i'm talking about him and he is ready to do whatever to fix, to do, to do these things. so trump knows what, nothing you all once. what do the, i don't believe there's one, what do the most of them need?
1:24 pm
there's one the one to, to step solution. what are they going to do to do for that? we're not clear. what we're clear is that the out of was divided then has thrown brooks at the origin, says, i know that there is this guy. he knows what he wants. he wants to alexis, i don't think. and he has a great following at the united states. if and general questions, right, because scientists but they are in fact trumps support system in the country. and just very briefly, a final thought from you on what this transition period is because obviously now we go into this transition period. right. so what does this transition period mean for you think the wars and gaza at 11 on an any potential cease fire? it's interesting that he actually decides for a product. it's old enough to know how when that they all came to visit them in florida. i wanted to wind this down before i become president in january 20, right? we don't know what that means. you know, sometimes to say a lot of things you doesn't necessarily mean, but it could also be the surprising unexpected that he's actually wants to support the wind on why. because trump does not want to fight is as war. and then at least
1:25 pm
unlike all the conventional wisdom about trump and his right, he's not going to deploy american forces to fight, to defend his rag, was to fight for his right. i guess you won or you're welcome syria. so i think from what black is right, the wind dialogue about us, fine, of course, most conditions on was a preferred results. it's yet to be clear. but i think drunk is making it clear that he is not going to be doing state building or nation building and palestine or in the rest of them, at least. okay. model, thank you for the time being as so as we've been saying, the outcome of the us election has an impact around the globe and perhaps most notably in the middle east as well as in iran. the is really prime minister benjamin netanyahu has already congratulated donald trump on what she calls is historic white house return. and he's also refer him to strong us as really alliance of
1:26 pm
a writing. and government spokesman has dismissed the us presidential impact on his country, saying that the us iran policies remain fixed regardless of leadership categories in nearest. yes, i mean, but how modern sony has expressed support and desire to strengthen strategic partnerships as well as regional stability. we have a team of correspondents covering this story for us for suicide doors in the area. and capital said, ron noodle holiday isn't, i'm not in jordan. in montana's in bay routes 1st, we're bringing him just for that is joining us from dated by the forces and central gaza pinned. as we've been reporting people in gaza and just trying to survive the genocide. so whoever wins the us selection i makes it to the white house doesn't really make a difference to what's happening, where you are, the well we have been seeing and that seeing what people are thinking since since the morning. and actually people are striving to find food,
1:27 pm
they're striving to feed their children. they don't really know what's really happening, especially the fact that since the early hours of the morning baseline has been witnessing a lot of the is where the raids and also there has been a tang proceeding and more people are on the move it back to waiting and being targeted was, are evacuating now somebody didn't know at trump or his, the proposed piece before you get a couple of years ago and others believe that whoever's gonna make it won't make a very big difference on the ground. you're talking about palestinians, people have been living more than a year, drain exhausted, hopeless not be receiving, a not receiving, who, deprived from all of the aspects of life, they're not receiving medicine. but we're talking about people who lost their lives . we're talking about thousands of how does the news drop under the rubble? the situation in god is undescribable and has been used. don't even have access to
1:28 pm
electricity. they do not have access to the internet. they do not know what's happening. all of the palestinians here in the gospel strip are actually depressed, and they don't see any way. this is gonna end to reflect what effort. who's coming next to all that kind of thing you care about? is someone who's gonna bring a steve shire as soon as possible because as i mentioned, we have tons of work with this situation anymore. okay, and thank you so much for that update from gaza. well bring it in, ron con, joining us now from be rude. look, and ron, i mean the u. s. has always had a strong foothold and loving on. what do people there think this election could mean for the country on the war? well there are really 2 separate sets of opinions. hey, in 11 on firstly, it's the streets now. the streets,
1:29 pm
the people actually care about the political crisis is going on. hey, the financial crisis this going on here. they can about the will that's going on here. the drawing that you can hear about be a constant reminder that 11 on is actually at, well, as the light is, it will wave as well. so all of those can send, start, replace into who the lead up of the united states of america actually is. there's a feeling here that foreign policy for policy towards 11 on when really change, who ever is in power, then you have the body politics, the government's the people that have to deal with the americans on it they to day basis. they'll just have to deal with the americans as the american see fit. we don't know. what's donald trump's vision for the middle east? is it seems to change uh, almost every suite 2 gates that's talked about the, the middle east was slightly contradictory for the last time he spoke about mentally. so right now, the politics and the body politic here is looking to see,
1:30 pm
to the us special envoy to the middle east is going to be who the secretary of state is going to be. what kind of relations they going to have with the lebanese body politics? i very much on the street. it's simply the concerns of the day today. i know real impacts on who the lead of the americans is. fox, the body politics is looking to see who gets put in place and whether they can bring an end to the war and an improvement of the lives of lebanese people. okay, thank you so much. i'm ron for that recording from a root. now to do it all day, joining us from jordan's campus online because the is really government has bound $1.00 from reporting in the occupied westbank on from inside israel knew it, i suppose not really a surprise that nothing yahoo was one of the 1st to congratulate from yeah, he wasted no time. he thought he congratulated tromp on history's greatest. come
1:31 pm
back. of course we see we saw that in the 1st 4 years of the trump administration. nothing else, showering the mind with praise and all sorts of compliments because he knows how his mind works. but we'll also heard from him are being viewed another, a right wing coalition partner of nothing. yeah, he said this is the time for decisive victory. for israel, it's time to impose the death penalty on what he said or terrorist, which of course is reference to palestinian members of the various political factions and armed wings of those factions. a very controversial bill in the human rights circles because it targets palestinians, specifically. now the is rarely media is describing this as a moment of happiness and celebration for the not time. yeah. whole government, this is what they wanted. money would argue this is what they were buying time to get to a trump white house. but of course, there are a few months left,
1:32 pm
2 months left until by a trump would be um sworn in to office and a lot can happen during that time. so i'm expecting that that's a yahoo might actually wind down the war on does a and in level not, but he expects to be paid quite handsomely, politically, strategically in return. and that's really where the concern in the region and the most palestinians is at the moment setting. okay, no, thank you so much for that reporting from my mind. well, not bringing brussels are the, are joining us from to iran. so the rest. so what, what are you hearing on an official level where you are as well so far it has been the only one mostly shall reaction and that is from the government spokeswoman and thought to me, why did i need to say is that the election of the new president of the united states is not going to impact iran and the policies of the united states and the wrong order to fix. so they're not expecting any domestic shift. and it's
1:33 pm
a magic change in relations. and of course, that has been the official position of the runyan if you're wrong from a to from so we have heard the same statements from the company's top diplomat. that bus, that actually just 2 days ago, they have all these to be able to pay a dnc, and that's where there are the democrats are in progress or the republicans. so our relations are problems are in place. so what, when it comes to trump, there in sort history is, is it not in favor or good relations? because when trump was the presence of the nice, they started from 2017 to the end of 2021. so he has thrown from the gc, created the historic nuclear deal and then she has adopted the maximum pressure policy, which means more sanctions, when you run more isolation to what you're on. and then in 2020, she has assess the native guys and so they might need to the popular commander or if you're writing and of course forces that was one of the lowest points in the
1:34 pm
relations between the 2 companies did the last 4 decades. so this bad blog, this psychological barriers are definitely here. however, on the other hand, there's a positive add them into any of our lives in the government. the reform is government led by our before mr. president. mr. business young. and she and his team seems to be an elective in, in, in july, in july, on they have repeatedly express the willingness to re negotiate a nuclear deal to lift the sanctions to reduce the uranium enrichment. however, so far, because this readiness, this willingness has not been met with that and just equal willingness from the western side that has been at that positive size from the west. and of course now dropped being once again into office being elected as the president of the united states. now you run hands on one hand or the domestic that maybe tom split baptism, do jealousy quote, pay the way for we negotiate in a nuclear bill,
1:35 pm
on the other hand, bid extremely cautious because of the sea city that has just measured like all okay or so thank you for that recording from to her on what we can also use and daniel levy who's the president of the us some of these project that's an independent policy institute. joining us from london, daniel leave you welcome to alta 0. so look at best on yahoo was one of the 1st world leaders to congratulate a trump. this is what he wrote on ex, your historic return to the white house office, a new beginning for america, and a powerful re commitments to the great alliance between israel and america. so really no doubts who nothing. yeah. who was rooting for? why is this such a moment to celebration for him? i don't want to go with some moments of liberation, so not send yahoo de celebrates i can pretty deliberate carrots up a set of ration. sorry. uh, i think it's a celebration because it is a batch. nothing y'all placed decades ago on ties but the republican party,
1:36 pm
the christian gun, jellicoe bass, the sort of democratic party lights move in and not the 6 direction because of its claim to represent something different that didn't happen on devices powers. what was on the ballot was one party that says international law, the international cool system will crash. those things don't interest us. and another party that said, well, sometimes the interest stuff, but when it's convenient, they certainly don't interest us. what is the largest palestinians for less than these on the line, but nothing, you know, who will see this as helpful to his domestic politics? he will be able to say, i'm the guy who is best positioned to manage this relationship. i don't think he has seen the 5 ministration was too difficult to handle, but he will also look back fondly on the moving up to jerusalem embassy, the closing of the comes to that to the palestinians. the incorporation of the legal is ready supplements into bi lateral american israel arrangements. the

breakthroughs hold normalizing with narrative states at the expense of the policy and you will things donald trump will things of course not reversed by by them. so he will say, i know this guy right can go further down this tall daniel, just stand by for a moment because we aren't getting news now. and this is according to the associated press that they are calling the, the uh, president trump, as in fact the winner of the president of the us election. so donald trump has in fact just one wisconsin we hear. so it's being called for trump. we have leave with us. okay. it will have me with us may have just talk us through what we're hearing because now it's being called the us presidential election is being called for donald trump. yeah. to read the news we have been waiting for has finally come. one of those crucial swing
1:38 pm
states, the state of wisconsin. we now understand how it's being cold for donald trump with its 10 electronic votes going directly to donald trump. it'd be hotly contested. we would have to be pushing him to that would have been coming. the house is route to the white house. it clearly wasn't to be particularly often likes of uh, pennsylvania with is 19 electro college college votes went trump's way a little bit earlier on. i mean, so there is now 0 chance for pamela harris to claim the presidency. it is donald trump's night. this is the breakdown in wisconsin, 50 percent to donald trump, $49.00 to cumberland harris. very similar to previous the election results in that state where the result of being within a one percent margin also. and of course it has now been quote for donald trump and he needed price. so this was 3 electoral college votes. coolest
1:39 pm
house, alaska still to go. that is being a red states since 1968. so expect about figure to exceed quite significantly. the 270 electric colors rose needed to take the presidency. this is the picture nationwide. the blue states freedom using the united states, new mexico, colorado, that little strip of blue that but then look at the sea off read without crucial state wisconsin. now going to donald trump with its 10 electoral college votes. going to him also, no doubt the republicans will be posting what has been a pretty clear wind for them throughout the course of this turbulent election, of course, and the election that began pretty much with the last one finished. no doubt a huge amount of celebrating and the republican comp for now the bite c 3. okay,
1:40 pm
me. thank you so much. so i'll just 0 to now call the 2020 for presidential election for the republican candidate, donald j. trump. and so he will now be the 47th president of the united states after beating his democratic challenger, cala harris and winning. what many americans have called the most important election of their lifetime? once again, we're one beside us. joining us here, who's also 0 senior political analyst. so president for a 2nd time quite to come back. milan. incredible. come back. incredible. come back at 1st quick type. come back in american politics. you know, i just got to say that i'm also reading here this and according to edison research projects, they're saying that's the estimated vote, tally trump 151 percent of the popular vote as well. and harris has 147.4 percent and that's the popular vote. absolutely, because it's back in 2016. he won the cottage, but he doesn't, didn't. when the popular vote, i remember back then i was in washington actually without just covering the
1:41 pm
elections. and the 1st thing that came to mind the right after he was declared, the one that is, i cannot believe my ears from one again side of the clinton. i, i'm hearing you now say in from is the 4th is 7 president. i still cannot believe my ears, but certainly more believable. that was in 2016. it is no less shocking. it's not surprising, but it is no less shocking. this man has proved to have an incredible stamina. for a politician, i don't think we know and races. my mother is someone who is less a sin skin than tom. he is so sick skin that he was able to go through the defeat of 2020 and multiple cases of credit memo corruption and other cases against him. one of them still actually are in the courts. and he was yet able to do this. come back against
1:42 pm
a democratic party that in fact, if you look carefully at the numbers, they have not done so badly on the economy. the inflation is coming down and play a month is off and so on, so forth. so and yet he was able to make this come back. it's an incredible victory for him, right. there's not any criminal victory for the republican party because i said he won the popular vote. they're also winning, apparently congress and the senate. that's right. already the majority of the supreme 4th, they are dominant force today like not in recent memory. okay, let's break it down domestically versus foreign policy and international on the domestic front, what does the 2nd trump presidency look like? space going to end to my mind. americans of the product a, as we knew it since the 2nd world war. i think the programs that were devised by the president roosevelt and they put on by president johnson and much later on by
1:43 pm
president clinton and even president obama are all now strict. and to be undermined even i know, totally. i think there's a good number of programs. there's a good number of um, uh, american guidance, if you, when by the federal government starts will be canceled out. and certainly a whole bunch of regulations that were devised over the decades could now be threatened to be also undermined. then even cancelled out if you listen to the likes of mos, uh, talking about what that is if it needs to look like about jump protection about some of the protection about childcare and all these things that the republicans have spoken about the past couple of years during that campaign, i think it's going to be an earthquake on questions of race. it's going to be a 1st click on a question. so of immigration, that's going to be an earthquake. and in terms of the question of social security
1:44 pm
and social perception, it's going to be an earthquake in terms of part describe the defeat and what can this is going to be on earthquakes in terms of climate change? american investment, i'm bad, that's a huge probably cancel the 400000000. the. busy that by them decided to invest about this company on earthquake on every possible level of government and the united states. and when it comes to foreign policy, i mean, there are multiple challenges. obviously, you have russia, ukraine, a war and you have a, obviously the, with the words and them, at least with, does a loving on how he deal with those. so there are 2 levels to this composition. we have not really distinguishing between the 2 levels enough over the over the 5 us, but our hours over the years, even the personal and the institutional. okay. so there is tons of person and he does the on foreign policy on a personal level. he likes came john, or he doesn't like him, he likes and he likes sports and within like same and he respects cheese and she
1:45 pm
had a spare time. he liked liked not the whole. i'm not sure how much you liked him nowadays, especially to have that he said the f word using because nothing you hold up as an ice, biden's victor in 2020 the like that and so on, so forth. so i, there's a person of dealings with world leaders, right? including middle eastern leaders. he likes inhabitants of mine and so on, so forth. he likes that meat of copper. so he likes a whole bunch of people that he probably would favor that liking personal relationship with them. and then that is the question of the homage he and political leading him and his republican party would find that they have considered what his values to be shares with likes of little pen and funds. and the tories in england, and potent have washer ported and russia. right. and a whole bunch of other conservative government around there was more than the way with the liberal and the liberal. the us and the progressives was which, by the, at least theoretically associated themselves with so on the institutional level.
1:46 pm
and we will see that this commander in chief will implement a policy of protectionism in terms of trade in terms of it but, but uh, but aggressive nationalism in terms of american interest. he's not going to be doing nation building abroad. he's going to try to do vision and stay 3 building at home manic into united states. and i think in that sense, to be very specific. he was tied to in the war between russia and ukraine as quickly. and he would, it would probably be to the advantage of russia judging from all the science. mm. i think he will try to rebuild the relationship with china in 11 form or another. but that's going to be key for him as it was between the 2016. so that 20 it leaves them, at least i think them at least would be decided, according to how middle east leaders to go forward if they are a new president today. congratulate donald trump,
1:47 pm
an openness he's had to talk to. diana, what's on the amount from on the question? do you go do you? i don't think the top is going up there and down there. really impressive, and i don't think so. i think he would probably, we pride himself about the idea that he might reward a new and you know, cuz we are dealing with the other one that he tore up, of course, during his 1st residency. absolutely. okay. model and thank you so much for the time being. well, speaking of russia and ukraine, the ukranian president vladimir zalinski has released the statements congratulating donald trump of what he calls his impressive victory. and he said this, i appreciate president trump's commitment to the peace through strength approach in global affairs. and this is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in ukraine closer. and i'm hopeful that we will put it into action together. you'll yeah, step of all about joining us now from moscow. so you'll, you'll know that donald trump has been elected the us presidents for the 2nd time. has there been reaction from russia? russia immediately reacted to trump's was he said during his 1st post selection
1:48 pm
speech to supposes that intended not to stop was about to answer. the question remains the how he's got introduce us. of course it would be a desirable thing. so ok if the selection with a new president in the future in the oval office help resolve the rashid crane conflicts at the moment. crumb is focused lessons we to resolve does not answer the question of web f. let's invitation. would congratulate trump has not to the that the united states is an unfriendly country that is directly and indirectly involved in the war against russia. but according to fiscal, preaching is open to the contacts and dialogue with the united states. so we can expect and telephone call between the 2. and of course communication could still take place through unofficial channels. a donald trump of co said that if he won, he would and steve or she came within 24 hours, many said that his plan would persuade key of to make territorial concessions or phrase because there's something the you create aside rejects the talking about politics, somebody knows that,
1:49 pm
unlike russian trump never talks about the most quoted wild, rasa about making america great again, as well as americans who gemini, so many believe that russia is in full since regional plan. but even even the us for the us, of course. but it's true, rival nowadays is try to um the us, well presumably try and we can, the russian trying to political and economic lines are separate. and they, they play a week, a role in the international arena and posed less threat to the us who gemini, also most columbus way to well, that's during donald trump's for previous presidents to previous years in the oval office. he seemed to have nice relations with prisons, but can be pre to a bunch of washington, a continued to regulate, impose on to russian sanctions on dozens of russian diplomats were explained, excelled from the united states during those years. and the russian consulates in seattle was closed during trumps. previous to washington withdrew from arms control agreements about latrell, intermediate range nuclear forces tracy and others. so all that made much of
1:50 pm
a patient, let's say that's a terminal harris and drug items were most suitable for, for russia to deal with. but obviously he's going to deal with that any, any presidents in the oval office. okay, here we go. thank you for the reporting from moscow. let's so across, back to washington dc bringing so you have your time see who's joining us from there. so she has its official. donald trump has been elected the us president. this is being called by multiple media, a news agencies and the end to and networks. um, so has there been any reaction or not? yeah, i mean, we still have that sense of shock. you know, it's interesting just about what 50 minutes ago that i was on, and i was talking, i think it tomorrow, at least on the progressive side of the democratic part is you called rum on vibes . you have to tell people explicitly how you're going to make that lives better. i the other look at the polls live people in swing states say that one of the homes and ball good is rather in pops. you should not corporate homes about going as well . um and then we sold those 2 rather show show guests to have from islands and i
1:51 pm
think it was london or something somewhere and in the southeastern for you guys because i think that they were really good representation when he was like, well, what do you, what are the democrats say so that that point i need to see about narrative developing as i was speaking with, but we did our platform, the voters just didn't get it. um, yeah, the posts, cuz this'll be said they people did not know what harris stood for. she was used on purpose, she was very vague. when you saw those 2 clearly shell shop, sir, but we did say we will have the child tax credit here and there and all that. but you know, but maybe it's the pub costs. maybe it's because they getting the media from the wrong places. it's the fault for not getting it. what's it's the pub costs as, as joe rogan sold or whatever. so you can see that narrative started, gibson, it's always the 3rd through 5th, the beginning of well these people don't even know what's good for them. you know, so that's, that's all that i'm not blaming the democratic party if i'm completely switching to the right. you know, what we know is that, you know what i mean, the question was always what is higher is actually started for you was a, how would you change things? is that action about change the oppose?
1:52 pm
what class people wanted change higher statements. she said she couldn't think of anything she would do differently from joe, but nothing. maybe that was when the election was effectively effectively over. i'm so yeah, i mean, the probably by the rest of what we did say we would, you would change this here with that. i don't think you have a good a button and perhaps 2016 as to why the old trump was elected the 1st place. people feel left behind by the economy and that was interesting to the want to go guess it was a bomb. i left a great and call them you for trump know that's why trump truck was elected, and 2016 people feel less behind by this deregulated near or liberal economy. obama famously build up bull street, didn't bo, bailout main street. all the foreclosures up into size, the crash, everything else that had a direct impact on the but the changing demographics of who supports the republican party and who supports the democratic party democratic party became the party of wall street. the republican party became the, became the party of florida americans and in fact the exit polls showed in the last
1:53 pm
few hours. that's a majority of those un under $100000.00. yeah. sort of trump and the majority of those wondering over a $100000.00, but for harris. so we gotta, we have those economic, economic indicators where people, if it be controlled left behind and bite them how to simply talking about how great they've done over the last 4 years. when people have inflation rates come down and stop markets booming when people simply can't afford the bills and they're being left behind. and without any really well hammering home or redistribute of agenda beyond the child tax credits, i'm giving you homeowners. maybe you know $2030000.00 to help them on, on, on the ladder. i mean, it wasn't gonna work or they wasn't savvy. i didn't search you, but your fingers now it is enough to do so. you got that progressive side say you should have said you should have misplaced it, progressive agenda to make people's lives better. and then you've got the, the, the, the mainstream democratic establishes what we do in sort of a math, right? and then you would hire, as you basically would sort of, you know,
1:54 pm
didn't really want to commit either way because it was done is, would, would be outraged if the hiring stuff said look, actually we're going to does that will speaking silicon valley and redistribute. well look, she have, i mean, just about so i think it was around 2 hours ago or so we heard from donald trump and he came out and he pretty much gave an acceptance speech. and this was of course, before the results had been announced to me now we know it's official. what about harris to expect to hear from her at some point to are watching as opposed to be how university here in washington dc, they start at the black university and people wages for hours and hours and hours only be told to be told, well, extra natural speak to everyone, everyone on on wednesday, i would still entirely say when she will speak, where she will will speak real sort of 2016 vibes when hillary clinton and people gather and celebrate cree mood and in new york. at the javits center of this computer convention center in new york, and we will say it's on
1:55 pm
a break treat. and then slowly it began to draw on everyone. but actually, i suppose in bad words. well, the letter didn't get it again. i didn't get how brilliant hillary clinton was. i didn't get her brilliant. complet harris was the best time around. we don't know when she is going to speak. she still hasn't, hasn't conceded political as i think now it's, it is a full grown conclusion that she will eventually. so i still early morning where you are, but what do we expect the moon to be like and washington dc. what is the biggest question now? is how big is this trumpet? so he gets the whitehouse. it looks like it's the sound that's clearly does he also get bass asked to try fix that. right? that's yeah, makes you, i mean, then then i mean, that means that you can really push as agenda true, but then it becomes worth how, how united is the republican party. now, i obviously with the senate already and it's i think it's $263.00. i think last time i looked to somebody about that means he had his appointments and i put at his
1:56 pm
cabinet appointments. it was like $53.00, all the basic caesar uh the $53.00. sorry. um. yeah, you just need a simple majority to get his always on the nation. so the cabinet and um, potentially uh the supreme court. he can so solidify the supreme court with the conservative card majority we could expect potentially. so i really need to kind of stop us to step down so that i can get another, you know, 2 more right wing justices. just make sure that they're in there for the next several decades. somebody by the way, incidentally, famously roost, baked against, but didn't do when she had the trumps to do to work on the joe biden to step down before she died. you know, she did refused to do it, girl power at the time it was a little side. but actually as a result of that, then the goals, abortion rights were severely cut back. and i think the republicans went about that lesson. but you know, if you, if you have the majority, then step down now and then, and then submit that's about majority and supreme court if they got the house as well. and that's astonishing on paper, but that it's about how,
1:57 pm
how unified the republican party is. say that this is a different republican party, is the one that we saw in 2016 when i was a lot of just complements of i write this trump guy in a we have a republican party and that type of trump is reshaped below the republican party. in his own image, but that still at norman's factions on several issues. okay, so we have jamie phones as vice president and the more traditional republicans. thank you so much you have for that report from washington. so here is just a quick recap of developing some last few moments. i was a 0 to now call the 2020 for presidential election for republican candidate. and donald j trump. he'll be the $47.00 president of the us after beating his democratic challenger. kimberly harris and winning, what many americans have called the most important selection of the or lifetime vote counseling is still under way and his democratic rival has not yet conceded, but which from quitting swing states than wisconsin, pennsylvania, north carolina, and georgia, there was just no path box for it kinda la harris, that's it for the news. our that's a live picture from washington dc. once again,
1:58 pm
we'll take a short break and so he'll romage with you in just a moment. good morning. the hod huge inconvenience. they say that your government has repressive policies. this best of human rights, with this most important task might go with them in facing realities. what you're saying is that you are restricted by the is released in terms of your movements at the time. that's right. to tell you restricted thoughts, providing on sense how much with the trip do you think impulse is right now to life? it seems to be spreading more easily. here the story on talk to how does era a weekly look at the world's tough business stories? what does a rake cost in the united states main for the rest of us from global markets and economies to construction small businesses should that be beyond to asked if people have spent
1:59 pm
