dollar city infections on the kind of establishment of accounts. so that would represent the palestinian people, but would not include the political movements themselves, including from us. some kind of professional civilian kept the credit government that could be acceptable. what we have seen until now is that the president of boss, when the fuck me recover post that saying that only the palestinian authority to govern the gaza. this is a key for the americans victories and the egyptians to figure out how to reach a deal that will in fact designate a palestinian governance which is not from us in order to get to phase 2 and to complete phase 2 as well, which would lead to the end of the world as well as really withdrawal from gaza. and well, how does that mean they need go 2 weeks to negotiate this phase? to restore this ready delegation, i didn't have to cancel today, a low level of delegation. we understand what the optimism do you have for the next 2 weeks and meet the goal. she ation, i was much more optimistic a week ago i was,
10:31 am
i was here, i know it 0. and i said i was, i was relatively optimistic that we'd get through phase one or at least and that there, there was a chance that we could get to, to face to a certain way of donald trump. want it to be seen as, as a peacemaker. and really i wanted to get away from conflict in the middle east as, as he's been saying. but i think we learned a lot this week when trump announced this plan of mass expulsion of the palestinians. and i think, you know, clearly these rarely leadership has made their intentions very clear that they plan to continue continue the war. um, so given all of that i'm, i'm less optimistic. so certainly about phase 2 but, but even about the resumption or the completion i should say a phase one and, and, you know, in particular, i just wonder about the incentive uh for how much. uh, because i think they can probably see some of the writing on the wall at this point . um, you know, they have these as rarely captives. they are kind of their only sort of
10:32 am
a bargaining chip and they're hearing israel said that they are intent on resuming the war. i'm not sure what else is left to bomb and gaza as even donald trump said yesterday. but uh, that's the is really intention. it seems and then you have this joint is really american intention to the populate the gaza strip. so seeing it from that perspective, i just, i wonder about the incentive there for him as to, to continue again showing you you negotiated with ha, so you have a bit of an inside the view on how the group operate. so they likely to give up their own the bargaining chip a little of the captives that they hold, you know, they're not likely to give them up. but we also have to remember that those where to negotiating of the must leaders outside of costs are they are not from incidental. so i'm familiar with 3 wing and they don't have full control over the cause a strip. what is interesting that we've seen since the beginning of phase one is that they have been able to impose their will ongoing data as
10:33 am
a deluxe of some forces in gaza. and this deal is being implemented. i'm not sure that the outside leadership has the ability to bring about a final deal that would lead to the release of all the hostages. there's also a big question of whether or not all the hostages can be found. if they are not buried under the rubble of buildings that were bombed by israel, if they are not, if they are not hostages held by other forces and thoughts, are the civilians or islamic jihad, or popular resistance, friends or any other groups. so it's really not clear that this deal, in fact, could even be implemented even if they reach an agreement target, which is very close to the what i just don't know yet how i'm also saying that as well as not less in any heavy machinery and of course it needs this heavy machinery to clearly huge amounts of rumble, but also has become because many, many people, 1212000 people are believed to be buried under the rebels. i'm not include some of the fees is really hostages captives and the bodies,
10:34 am
which i'm also said it will return to as well. but it costs because it hasn't got heavy machinery to do so it's why is israel withholding this? and i think this product is protected back and forth between this one from out of susan's validity agreement. i agree with the prospective that is real is likely to create some complications that would lead to from us breaking the ceasefire. and that is real, getting a green light from us, from the united states, to renew the hor, certainly of the face of seeing about us having so much control over gaza. is provoking these really responds within the government back to the works. so all of these issues are pretext for perhaps breaking the ceasefire and going back to the words mama, do you see that playing it as well to the, the reason why we're not seeing the shelters that the palestinians have desperately need here. but it's the find a winter months now the rain is falling, it's very, very cold at night time. and yet we've seen 2 percent of the 2 100000 tends to rise
10:35 am
. none of the 60000 temporary housing unit, so ride people and literally sleeping house in the us and i think that's part of it . i. i don't have any question that israel would like to provo come as into some sort of a response. but i also think we have to remember what the sort of and game has been for israel all along. i mean, i've been unable to 0. i don't know how many times over the last 15 months. and i've been saying almost from the beginning from the fall of 2023, that it was very clear that israel's intention was to render the gaza strip completely unlivable because they wanted to de populate the gaza strip. and i think this is just kind of more of the same from that standpoint. i mean they've been preventing a central humanitarian aid really from, from the start. i mean, they promised to do that. and then, and then they did it even according to the, the us government, us aid, we're in a report and an investigation that they, that they conducted last year. so i don't think we should necessarily be care terribly surprised at these uh,
10:36 am
developments goes on. how much traction within as well have some comments gain? of course that's what mine view is the trumpet says that the us will takeover gauze or they'll own that. they'll do a job on this, he said they'll permanently move causes out his administration bowl that back and said, no, no, it would only be temporary. it doesn't matter. so it gives a day that will be forcibly made to leave according to trump's plan. is that going down well and as well? so the, the initial response to the trump fire and the statements of the populating guys have been great positive road, 70 percent of his relatives think that it's a good idea. but i think that is real easy, responding. still out of trial, the trial and of the lack of ability to think cognitively and rationally to some of the more rational people is, will be competing that this is attracted to the trunk. that will know, but from his previous administration, as well as this one that he lays down all kinds of in big threats and then a negotiates down from that. it's kind of the stockton off theory of negotiations
10:37 am
that shocked the other side. and then you'd go see what you really want. so we don't know, trump is unpredictable. but we did see when he did with canada and mexico. and he said different cases of threatening to impose large tariffs on them. but they're just negotiating a border deal with them. and hopefully this is the same kind of socket also, or treatment. he's been walking back some of his initial statement. certainly people, it is it for the straight showed up in walking them back. it's totally unrealistic . it's, it's against international law. it's a crime against humanity and say, and even people, ivy is really need your help in saying that as well, although they are a minority voice but the importance of minority. oh, it's an important minority voice on the because it is really far right. we've seen them have huge influence over necessarily all his policy decisions on garza. this of course is a dream to them isn't exactly what they've wanted on a known. so how much pressure do we not expect them to push on s m,
10:38 am
yahoo to fully 3? i think they'll be, i think they'll be a lot of pressure. um i don't just think i don't, i don't think it's just the default, right. you know, i, we use that phrase a lot, but this is actually a relatively main screen idea. and i, i've said this before, but one of the books that i read in graduate school was a book fine is really sociologist that from the hebrew university, a little side which talked about this idea of greater israel. right? and, and this idea of greater israel is very deeply embedded within, within in is really society. and this coal that was released this week by the jewish policy institute, show that by 85 percent of jewish israelis support to support the trump plan. this needs to be which, which is an ethnic cleansing plan. now there were some of them that said the plan was unrealistic, but the majority actually said that it should be pursued. so this is actually a pretty mainstream idea. i'm certainly concerned about it. i think it's the intention of these rarely states. that's my, that's my position, not just in gaza,
10:39 am
but even in the west bank, i understand that there are lots of little constraints and i think there's really leadership even understands that. and that they have to do this kind of in and almost in slow motion. but i think we have, we already have ethnic cleansing projects in place effectively, both in jobs are and, and in the west bank. now, whether or not they will come to fruition, i think that that's an open question at this point. certainly the certainly, there will be a lot of resistance and i mentioned there are all kinds of political constraint. mm hm. that's certainly something that we need to keep a very close eye on down the line, i guess on just to bring it back to events of today. just remind me of you is that we are still watching. i'm waiting for the 3 is rainy male civilian captives. to be released from their obama in central jobs that preparations have been going on that for a number of hours. now you can see how much a wing or customer gave me a very orderly sweat behind them. a number of the public,
10:40 am
the people who have come out to watch not huge crowds like we've seen in the past. just a few people. we saw some women earlier coming in hunting out flowers to the on the flight to is the stages set. literally the full, the hostages, the captives to appear on them for the red cross officials to then sign off the release and come fully. i'm in a convoy and drive them off to israel, so we of course, keeping a close eye on that. as we continue on discussion, i'm wondering, gushed on what the feeling is in the as well as the release of presence today. we've got through e mail captives being released. this is going to be celebrated, but it was a 183 palestinian prisoners a going to be released, some of them security business, some of them subbing life sentences. is a, i guess it is well about these releases because obviously a lot of people will be, excuse me, thinking back to the release of glad sleep in 2005, when you assume law was released and hit force was the open straight to of feel to
10:41 am
bus 7th attack. so what is the feeling in israel towards these release is or right because the reason the deal actually was in 2011. and i think upon there's a about that just anger about the release of christmas. but the focus is really on these 3 men. one of the 11 shut out be, is coming home. and knowing that his wife is 2 daughters were killed on october. second, he's coming home to an empty home. a living is coming home to a reality where his wife was killed and there's 3 year old son is waiting for him is 3 year old son is only known his father for the 1st half of his life for a year and a half. e, as in seen his father. so it's really much more focused on the human tragedy that we're seeing of these 3 hostages coming home. it's very different when seeing the, the young girl soldiers who came home with the previous releases, which was really a joy of seeing these, these young people realized with their families on the elderly,
10:42 am
the 2 elderly men who came home to their families and were granted some worldly today is going to be a lot more traumatic as both those 2 men come home to their families that are no longer what they were before october 7th, can be used by the public is experiencing the sadness of those reunion. those that are going to be very, very empty. that's. so that's a very good point to the most contrast to, as you say, the release of the young girls who are returning to the parents before and the pressure being maintained on the nation. yahoo government by the crowds, the in hostages square the weekly protest. they are going to be keeping up that pressure all day until they get the release of all of the captives. a, you know, the families are dedicated to more of our people coming out to support them. but still it's not enough to compel them, you know, to look forward to the deal and nothing else. you know, we say that ok, so 800000 people come out until the 10000 people come out in jerusalem several
10:43 am
thousands around the country, but the millions of israelis are staying at home. so nothing else since the beginning of the war has not found that the, the compelling nature of his revenue society and forcing him to make this deal. there should be a consensus issue with this rug societies. as privy if those services are other, we don't leave anyone behind. but nothing, you know, and his political propaganda machine to manage to politicize the issue of the hostages and created a great deal of division within his reading society. all the question of the price that needs to be paid to bring while the hostages hoping this was not in existence at all during the luxury period where up to 80 percent of his royalties supported the deal that was done in 2011. okay. gosh on. thank you mom and just the last one to you, of course is gosh, i'm pointed out security tool messic emotional de um, a sadness mixed with the joy of returning seeing the returning captives, but also in the product of the entire translator. today we're going to see similar emotions. i'll be looking to see the joy of the release of prism is also sadness
10:44 am
that perhaps the state of the house and, and the fact that they still may will be arrested again. absolutely, absolutely. um, you know, it's interesting because about sell them, which is the, the leading is really human rights group. put out a report, a few months back. and the title was interesting. it was called welcome to help. and that report spoke about is rarely a prison system. and it talked about is rarely prison system as a torture network. and that's a direct quote from the report. it's a torture network for these palestinian prisoners. and so that's what, how this thing and prisoners who are being released today are being released from little really, i torture networks. and so you can understand why then palestinians would be so excited. you know, it's to, to get some of these people. some of these people back, but to your point there's a huge risk of, of re a rest because this is kind of israel's m o it really, it, it, you know,
10:45 am
rounds up palestinians by the hundreds and even by the thousands, many of them as you all have been reporting or not even charged with crimes. they can be detained and held in definitely their, their detentions can be renewed indefinitely. they don't have the right to trial, they don't have the right to see evidence against them. so this is very much we have to remind ourselves of military occupation. it has a military logic. there's no real justice system in play here for the palestinians . and so again, it's understandable and why palestinians would want to celebrate. but even that, you know, israel has, as you all have been reporting is, is trying to restrict their, trying to restrict the celebrations for the palace and inside. okay, thanks indeed, i do stay with us. we're just going to go back and check in with all of our correspondence. now the topic assume is in federal bala, of course, this is where the stage is set full the comp to release some expect that no sorry,
10:46 am
immune and they don't. we in the next 15 minutes also yes, in fact uh these preparations um the things that you can see at the back the ground are still taking place as well. so now the vehicles of the international permit, you'll be back across. 2 did not arrive to the sites, we are expecting them to arrive very soon. as you can see, these preparations mora in the fray in that military fight to cover right to the sides of the release. we can see hundreds of fight says from different operational units in the military range of how much smaller post, regardless of the difference, it leads, forces wherever responsible of attracting this by the candidate to october, the 7th of 2023. now these preparations have been ongoing since the early hours of this morning. civilians have described these populations to be highly controlled,
10:47 am
strictly performed to a guarantee as smooth and overall but is by the top tips to the national committee of direct costs. we can see that there is a part says i've been deployed in a uh, an old cases and then the own roads that are leading suicide. i do not know the choice. that's all i do know, has a significant as simple as them regarding the is very military forces existence the only few kilometers away from what we all i'm doing expected to withdraw from the gaza strip from the, from the, the 3 quoted on tomorrow as a part of the current spot, it deals with how much use? well now we need to remind our viewers submits a report or has been set during the is very many trees in touch and in the gaza strip. done now is blessings with the noise and the south of the temperature,
10:48 am
part of the current, some suppliers to billions. minnesota, back to the homes that were originally displaced from in northern garza and today defaulted to return and to be able to go back and forth to northern gauze. i buy your vehicle from so off the dean road, know we time see i please. and the release side of the uh is by the top 20 um would be a close for the ministry window, how much we can see the flight just as of march on the ground and they are preparing uh for the release for the caps. it's usually such minutes report to cold have been, i tell you all about very suspect and pre determined loans that have been widely said by the military command, just a few minutes to read how much to ensure that there will be a smooth community so that we owe forces on the ground, the communication also to be very confidential with the international committee of direct course. we don't know which location that is when it comes to the uh,
10:49 am
completely coming from, but they will come up from this route. oh i've, you end up these 3 as you can see what flights have been widely deployed. organize the movements of the vehicles, but more of the uh, the impala streams. yes. is quite electric palestinians. all anticipates anticipation arrival, or business valley captives at moments was also there are plugs onto pricing uh the uh, the release of the product for the prism is just a few hours off to the uh, hundreds of used top tips for the is when the minutes right um, but again, it could be re united with the families. okay. i start who just while we're waiting for the arrival of the captives where you well, we're just going to go. as you know, the goal is a safety check in with funding my mother to can bring us an idea of what was happening that honey and the mood among palestinians is the latest,
10:50 am
the hostage exchange contents exchange. prisoner exchange is getting underway of the word definitely see a more move in here. there's lots of profit just started to happen here. and this is not a coincidence that this is actually happening save from the time we return to gaza in the northern parts of the, our homes. this is the 1st time we're seeing this large crowd of people move in on the road, whether walk in or in their vehicles that in terms of a traffic, this is the 1st time we're seeing. this is happening and it's also the 1st time we're seeing here, the, uh, the police person out there. law enforcement are in the area also, uh, the, arranging a traffic in the area. and this is a part of what's going on in the sense from area the release of the follow up or the. 9 the movement of people to from defense, from area and to the northern part and gaza city and but as far as we know,
10:51 am
as per the agreement, the terms of the agreements while i had been involved with open tomorrow. but we are not sure if people are going to wait until tomorrow, the start moving with their vehicles, but in terms of move in 4th and back between the northern part of the part of the states that might not happen. and they'll do more for people to go back for the remaining family members are still in their tense guns and their enforcement and their displacement the sites inside the central area or are more of the evacuations on there's a sense of acceptance of what's going on has been so relieved that the, the phases or the exchanges are taking place out, particularly for families who have and their family members, the loved ones and its children, or the 10 in the past. 50 months of heard the agreement as a d. o. their release of from these really side was, will include the 183 palestinians, that 111 of them were detained in the hospice in marson, particularly from different detention centers,
10:52 am
including the city. the mad at notorious detention centers were mary's hall of simians, young palestinians and elderly, were detained and torture and demonized inside and physically torture to demonize inside this the for his detention center for a lot of people. this is a quite exciting it quite high because they never thought they were going to sleep . then by getting back, there were no news about their release or where their whereabouts in the past 50 months is also include the, the 70s to other palestinians, decaying in the past few years. and a few of them were serving life sentence, and other long term sentence inside is really a jay of that and the connection centers. so this right now, what is causing people here at a quiet level of confidence that there's the and this is going to start in the coming hours right after the release of the captive. and it gives them hope that
10:53 am
their children, their loved ones are relative. and really defensive sensors are going to be released because again, inside is really just, it's just going into the non people are gone into uh, pretty much and not knowing anything about them and not knowing if they were going to be released or not. this is happening now. it means we are being present roxanne, it's a rebirth of the problem. the young people again. yeah. honey, we can says me here, the traffic behind you. that's funny my fluids in dogs assist you saying that traffic is increasing. there is a hosted a captive release is getting underway. further south in the fall a we're going to bring in a guess, gosh on bass, getting the least director of the international communities organization. and i'll handle must be a professor of media studies here in the gosh own festival. i mean was sitting alongside the choreography that in there about it was seeing the, the relatives of friends of hostages in hostages square in tel aviv waiting
10:54 am
the moods. there is one of anticipation, i should imagine. that seems quite some, but people just sort of standing around the waist. and can you tell us a little bit about the 3 men who are due to be released today? yeah, but we know the, these, that the 2 of them were checking from the keyboards, berry, which is one of the 2, but seem on the border of god. so i'm, i have a personal friend who was killed in the area, the veteran peacemaker vivian silver, who was a very engaged in, in peace work for many years, one of the founders of women which decently associates from that keep what's, it's one of the, is really keep what seemed that separate the most on the october 7th. so 2 of the, many of from the early in the barrett and mailing their forties and fifties in the day. and one of them may only
10:55 am
be his wife and 2 daughters were killed down on october 7th, so he's coming home to a, an empty home in a go hunting that me is coming home to his family is another man of 52 years old. i think no, and he shut up his 52 years old and then his wife and 2 girls were killed and were libby i correctly myself, his wife was killed and these 3 year old so it's been stopped by his brother eh, and other relatives. so he'll be reunited with his son, but he won't be reunited with his wife. this is very different than the previous 4 releases. we've seen where people were coming back to their families to their parents, to their children. it's a very different too much more summer moody and israel as a result of this. and i think we're gonna see more of this in the future releases. and there are in the 1st $33.00 about 8 a dead hostages, who will be coming home also in the further stages. yeah, absolutely. okay i'm,
10:56 am
i'm a hyphen so compare it to the release of the palestinian prisoners that we will be seeing lee. so for so let's just compare the numbers. i don't think we do this enough. we, we talking about 3 is really captives in return for a 183 palestinians. just explain to our view is the discrepancy and numbers. why was saying it, or we're seeing it because of these real occupies a palestinian territories and as part of that accurate occupation, it systematically rests, palestinians, both palestinians who resist the occupation and also palestinians who really don't do anything quite, quite frankly. i mean, one of the interesting things about today's release is that a 111 of the people that are being released were, were rounded up in gauze. are, these are people that is my, israel's own admission? did nothing or they did not participate in october 7th, they did not did. they did not commit crimes,
10:57 am
at least there is no evidence that they've committed crimes. but israel just sort of rounded them up and by some report durbin suggesting that there were, there are perhaps a few 1000 of those individuals who have been arrested by israel in garza. but as really, as part of normal, a policy is real rounds of these palestinians under the military law that governs palestinians, palestinians in the west bank are forbidden from doing all kinds of things that free people cannot do. so just to give one example of the law says that a gathering of 10 people, a gathering of 10 palestinians, if it is construed as political, can be considered a protest. and so you have palestinians who have been arrested under those circumstances. and a lot of this, again, is documented by that solemn, i referenced them in or in a previous um, it's a huge rate of human rights organization though. yeah, a leading is really a human rights organization. so, you know, there are more than 10000 palestinians in is rarely prisons. approximately 3500
10:58 am
of them are arrested on this draconian administrative order. whereas i mentioned earlier, israel can are rest palestinians without charge without the right to trial without the right to see evidence against them. and they can hold them indefinitely. so that's just kind of a, a brief, you know, sort of introduction, but it's a, it's a very dire situation. and so again, as i said earlier, it's understandable why policy needs would be happy about receiving these people home. and on the other hand there's, there's really a great risk of re arrested in many cases. gosh, on just the so on the, the issue of numbers again that we, every single loss of life is a tragedy. and i, i'm sorry to have that you lost a close friend of yours in the october 7th attack. but once again, let me look at the numbers. we've got 1200 people who killed in october 7th.
10:59 am
when now looking, the latest numbers, including the people missing who are presumed dead in garza over 62000 people. how do these 2 numbers? how do, how do they fit side by side in his writing society? what do people think about them? the most is really just don't think about the least part of the tragedy this entire conflict. i think that we as realtors, about as many as need to look at these numbers and look at a 100 years of us killing each other and come to the conclusion that this really has to be the last works we can keep doing this. we keep looking backwards of what they do to us on both sides and thinking about how we're going to share this land. whether it's more, it will be over. there will still be 7000000 color standing arabs and 7000000. these were the jews living between the river and the see. we have to stop doing this. we need to look at each other in the eyes and say, ok, i cannot justify what you've done. i can't just divide what we've done either,
11:00 am
and we need to stop doing this. the 2 people's are leaving this when we need to figure out how to share it, whether it be one state to state or 10 states that stop the question. the question is the boat people's the heater and both peoples are going to stay here and we have to recognize each other's continual right to be here and stop telling each other. and dave, that has the bigger conversation that needs to happen. that's hope it's can, does continue to do so in this day and others to come gosh on by skin, many things and you've joined your stuff from west jerusalem. and what i'm doing mostly on set, we're going to be talking to you a little bit more later. so please don't go too far. hello there. if you're just joining us the i'm laura kyle and you are watching out as there is just go on 8 d m t. and we're following this developing story of the 5th release of is really captives from gaza in exchange for palestinian prisoners from is really jails. now you're looking at live pictures here of some.
