Subject: Horizon: Beyond the Moon
The third video in this collection, indexed as "BBC Horizon - s0000e05 - Beyond the Moon", aired exactly 40 years ago, on 21st July 1984, to mark the 15th Anniversary of the first Moon landing in July 1969. It's presented by James Burke, who, fifteen years earlier, had been the BBC anchorman on their coverage of the mission to put the first men on the Moon, who presented the live coverage of the landing from the BBC's London studios.
The first video in the collection is a recording from 1977 -
Horizon Special:
The Case of the Ancient Astronauts
First broadcast: Fri 25th Nov 1977, 21:00 on BBC Two
Are we descendants of space men? Was civilisation created by intelligent beings who landed on Earth in prehistoric times? The Swiss author Erich von Daniken believes he can prove it was.
His evidence includes what look like astronauts' airfields in Peru, ancient carvings depicting space men in Mexico, Ecuador and Africa, and clues that point to extra-terrestrial intervention in the building of the Egyptian pyramids, the statues of Easter Island and the massive stone monuments in South America. His theories are scorned by scientists and archaeologists, yet they have undoubtedly caught the popular imagination. He has sold 40 million books on the subject. There must be many people who have a sneaking suspicion that he could just be right. But how good is his evidence? How does it compare with the fascinating alternative explanations of these mysteries of the ancient world? Has VON DANIKEN proved his extraordinary case that creatures from other worlds have walked on Earth?

Subject: The Mystery of King Arthur and his Round Table
There seem to be so many Horizon Episodes available to view but not the 1976 episode about the Round Table that hangs in Winchester. Does anyone have any clue as to why?

Subject: Good to watch again some of the horizon programs
Most of the early horizon programs are included in the list and some of them will never date due to the topic.

Great collection of documentaries. If you have the time, follow all the space related episodes chronologically for a kick ass ride with twists and turns surpassing any movie. Subjects like detecting first Super Massive Black Holes or evidence of faster than light-light beaming out of exploding supernovae.
