latest, and she was back. she of the latest, and she was back. she was there, on the red carpet, the centre of attention. and i think she loved every minute of it. we are going to leave it there for now, but thank you so much. speaking to us, as we remember carrie fisher, who has passed away at the age of 60. caroline frost is joining caroline frost isjoining me now on the phone, the entertainment editor at the huffington post. thank you for joining at the huffington post. thank you forjoining us. we are hearing so many tributes to carrie fisher. how is she being remembered? there are two schools of thought, of course the dedicated star wars fan base which is worldwide and tireless and has been devoted now for four decades and will show no signs of abating with the tragic news today. i'm sure more people will make sure
6:31 pm
they go to see the star wars original trilogy, summoning tributes will be coming in. fans will be wanting to make their feelings felt. so there are those people in the world and then all the other people who love her as being one of the few remaining old hollywood stars, with her parents debbie reynolds of course and the star wars role was not the most defining thing about which is extraordinary when you considerjust how defining that was. what would she have been proud of, because everyone immediately thinks about star wars but she was involved in so much more. she was the first to laugh at the sheer power of what she really tookjust to laugh at the sheer power of what she really took just as another to laugh at the sheer power of what she really tookjust as anotherjob

in the mid—i9 70s. george lucas turned up with this bizarre project and itjust turned up with this bizarre project and it just ran turned up with this bizarre project and itjust ran and ran but she played so many other things. things like when harry met sally, in a prime supporting role. and of course her own script, her books and memorise that then became postcards from the edge, in one case, that hit film. telling the story of her life with her mother debbie reynolds, the good and the bad. but rice sense of humour with which she was able to look at her own life and observe that gilded cage of hollywood in which she grew up. some tributes coming in by twitter, with the goldberg saying, she was funnier and smarter than anyone had the right to be. so many words about her wit and
6:33 pm
ultimately how humour. do you think it was her ability to talk about her problems in life that endeared her to herfriends? problems in life that endeared her to her friends? i think it was a huge part of it. if you look at history, from the moment she was born she was under that hollywood spotlight. she was the daughter of eddie fisher and debbie reynolds, the golden couple at the time, the girland boy the golden couple at the time, the girl and boy next door and she was the golden offspring. then she weathered this extraordinary love triangle of the age when eddie fisher abandoned debbie reynolds for elizabeth taylor. it is the stuff of fairy tales and little carrie fisher in the middle of all that. she weathered that storm and she also had her own problems, she was diagnosed with bipolar on top of the admission that she went down a rocky road of drugs and alcohol addiction
6:34 pm
as so many stars did. but what she did and that was unique, she was able to get back from this almost cliched story of hollywood, like the golden child for whom almost she had so many things and then just wanted a bit of normality, but she was able to riley observe that from within the bubble and that was what really endeared her to so many people. giving them a little look behind the pmp ropes but also making clear that all that glistens is not gold. she almost shared thejoke all that glistens is not gold. she almost shared the joke with her fans in that sense. just talking about her recent publication the princess diaries, she said she had forgotten having written them. she says she wrote when she was upset. and she was so insecure and it is very raw and she did not expect anyone

including herself as opposed later on to read it. have you read the book? i have, and as she set herself, such a young girl. some of it is slightly cringeworthy in the most enduring sense, they are the ramblings of a confused young girl. thrust into this enormous production with george lucas at the helm and going to work with storm troopers watching but as she herself revealed recently, she fell for her co—star in the older, married harrison ford. what was sweet about the diaries, it is this older lady almost laughing at herself for having these emotions. yetjust kind of saying in the middle of that enormous epic blockbuster that has become iconic, she was just blockbuster that has become iconic, she wasjust a blockbuster that has become iconic, she was just a young girl falling in love like every other girl. and when she mentioned her substance abuse,
6:36 pm
she mentioned her substance abuse, she was honest and said that she never could take alcohol, she always said she was allergic to it. and thatis said she was allergic to it. and that is the definition of alcoholism. there was the alcohol, she admitted to taking lsd as well. she lived the life, if you think of her romances, as well as harrison ford, she was married to paul simon, one of the most talented world renowned musicians of the era, engaged to dan ackroyd, these were not people who at home watching tv. she was right there in the thick of it. just partied like the rest of them. and paid the price certainly with health later on. one of the things that she did as well, she said herself that she has got to write everything down because this quite harsh treatment she was having to have. she was worried she would forget things and of course these stories of her life growing up in hollywood and the star wars aspect,
6:37 pm
not something anyone would want to forget. what do you think carrie fisher would like to have been remembered for. obviously she knew the legacy of star wars was never going to escape her but i think in addition to that she would have carried that likely and would like to be remembered for her writing and right observation of the hollywood bubble. caroline frost, thank you very much for your time. just to remind you if you are joining us, the news that carrie fisher the actress best known as the star wars star has passed away. this is following a heart attack sometime ago. she was 60. the statement came reading it is with deep sadness that

stoke took a surprise lead at anfield whenjonathan walters — born on merseyside — nodded thomas pieters crossed past simon minolet in the liverpool goal. that sparked the reds into action and roberto fermino thought he'd equalised only to find peter crouch‘s outstretched leg in the way. the goal did come through adam lallana — capitalising on glenjohnson‘s error to fire home from an acute angle. and fermino had his goal just before half time, allowed space to turn in the box before striking an inch perfect effort to putjurgen klopp‘s side 2—1 up at half time. liverpool then extended their lead on the hour mark with 65 minutes gone, leading 3—1 at the minute. so as liverpool hope to close the gap on chelsea tonight, tottenham will be looking to keep in touch with the top four when they travel to southampton tomorrow. spurs are fifth — and it's a champions league spot, rather than the title, in their sights at the moment. the title is not the main

expectation from tottenham. i think in the premier league it is very competitive. other clubs have a bigger advance. they used to play for the title for a while but we are nearly there, the gap is reducing every year. and the most important thing in this period is that we are still in the table and especially in the top four spot. but as i used to say it is too early to know at this period of the year what is going to happen and you just need to carry on. we know the christmas period with boxing day, it is a period where you can lose points. so it is important to stay focused and be ready for the battle we're going to
