a row. it's unlucky for stoke as chelsea go nine points clear. 15 in a row for celtic. the old firm victory puts them firmly in control of the spl. and the chiefs end 2016 with a stunning comeback. two tries in the last nine minutes put exeter third in rugby union's premiership. there are seven matches in the premier league today, and chelsea have set a record. they have matched arsenal's record of 13 wins in a row in the same premier league season. they extended their lead at the top of the table with a 11—2 win at home to stoke. it was 2—2 with 25 minutes left to play, but a second from willian and and a late diego costa goal made sure of the record.

back with 17 unanswered points. there was some good news for bath though, a welcome return for wing anthony watson. he made his first appearance as a substitute since fracturing his jaw at an england training camp in october. in the pro 12, leinster beat ulster to move into second place in the table. ulster failed to score until the 77th minute and by then the match was beyond them. rory 0'loughlin scored twice for leinster, the final score 22—7. rory clegg went over four minutes from time to snatch a dramatic bonus point victory for glasgow warriors at treviso. there was also a great performance from scotland international stuart hogg, he scored 15 points, bagging a try and kicking five conversions. 35—28 to warriors. two other matches in the pro 12. edinburgh beat zebre 24—19. the bottom two italian sides both losing, but putting up quite a fight for the scottish sides.

the other match is a 5:30pm kick—off. connach against munster. manu tuilagi has been included in a 33—man england training squad for a two day camp in brighton next week. the leicester centre has struggled with injuries in recent years and has managed only one appearance for his country sincejune 2014. maro itoje and jack nowell also return after missing the autumn internationals through injury as does anthony watson. head coach eddie jones will confirm his final six nations squad on january 20th, they will begin the defence of that title at home to france. andy murray has been given a knighthood in the new year's honours list. he's in abu dhabi at the moment where he has just finished third at the world tennis championship. it's a rather grand title for little more than a six man exhibition event.
