jamie vardy scored a crucial away goal to keep leicester's hopes of reaching the quarter finals of the champions league alive. their 2—1 defeat to sevilla in spain leaves them with a chance of progressing with the second leg to come. but perhaps more importantly, his goal might kick start leicester's season with the champions struggling in the premier league. patrick gearey reports. in the season that has gone to pieces, leicester city needed some escapism in spain. but the present keeps catching up with them. wes morgan, sauron liable, —— sauron rash. liable, but correa was kicked out. for the most part, the goal was going to be innovative. sarabia. ranieri tried to steer his side from the rocks. but sevilla chasing

to on sunday, it could be quite a season for the fans. wayne rooney was left out of united's squad for tonight's match. but as for the player's future, it looks to lie away from old trafford. the bbc understands the striker will leave in the summer. it follows talks over a possible move to china. the league's transfer window closes at the end of the month and whilst it's unlikely a deal will be done before then, as our reporter simon stone explains, unless rooney is given more game time it's likely he will leave in the summer. the simple fact is that wayne rooney is not playing enough football. since he scored that goal against stoke that made him manchester united's record goal—scorer, he has only played three times in a month. his stats this season, he has started eight premier league games. if you compare that to zlatan ibrahimovic, who has played 2a times, and even people like marcus rashford, henrikh mkhitaryan and anthony martial, they have started more games than wayne rooney. he wants to play. allied to the fact that clubs in china are keen to get

will run until 2020. he's scored ten goals for club and country so far this season. blackburn rovers have appointed tony mowbray as their new head coach. mowbray‘s been out of the game since the summer, when he left coventry. he moves to the championship side succeeding owen coyle, who left the club yesterday. blackburn are currently second bottom of the championship, three points from safety. rugby union's six nations championship returns this weekend. one player who won't be seeing any action is the england centre jonathan joseph, who's been left out of the squad preparing to face italy on sunday. he's played in all 15 matches under eddiejones but has returned to his club after being cut from the 2a man squad as the head coach rings the changes. elliot daly is favourite to start at outside centre, with ben te‘o also pushing for a starting berth. england will confirm their starting 15 on friday morning. one man who is in and making a return is the wales wing george north.

after recovering from a thigh injury he's set to start his side's match with scotland on saturday. the 24—year—old will replace alex cuthbert, in what is the only change to rob howley‘s side who lost to england in a thrilling match in cardiff a little under two weeks ago. budapest is to withdraw its bid to host the 2024 summer olympics, leaving only los angeles and paris as the only two cities in the running. more than a quarter of a million hungarians had signed a petition against hosting the games, with opponents saying the money would be better spent elsewhere. the international olympic committee will announce the winning bid in peru in september. force india are the latest fi team to reveal their car for the new season and say their aim is to break into the top three in the constructors championship. they were fourth last season behind mercedes, red bull and ferrari. their new car was unveiled to the media by their drivers sergio perez and rookie
