possibility. just like liverpool ladies new signing 16—year—old emily ramsey. since i was six, seven, eight years old i wanted to play football. in school they would ask what you wanted to do and i said i wa nted what you wanted to do and i said i wanted to be a footballer. i know you had a career aside from football, but with the increase in pay and awareness and sponsorship and stuff like that, people have the opportunity to play football without having to have that career because if you train full—time how do you fit at the rear end? i know i must have been difficult. i had some fantastic memories in the stadium and hopefully emily is no other club integrated with the world and to make some of her own. she did not have that opportunity at her previous club. she used to play for manchester united but they are the only team without a team for girls over16 only team without a team for girls over 16 and the girls set up a separate. having a partnership were some of your players are part of a charitable foundation and associated with the club but not part of the clu b

with the club but not part of the club keeps them at arms length. they are not fully integrated where as they are at others. i suppose if i was ina they are at others. i suppose if i was in a position of influence at united which is never going to happen, i would look to make all teams feel more included as part of the club and have a very strong identity. i would the club and have a very strong identity. iwould be the club and have a very strong identity. i would be making it very clear there are opportunities around having a level playing field for women, and a writ for those excellent players they are developing and doing herjob back. we approached manchester united to ask why they do not have a women's tea m ask why they do not have a women's team and in a statement they told us... for emily and her career the move from united to liverpool could be ideal. i was there for eight years and played all the way through and there's nowhere to go. you can see there's nowhere to go. you can see the difference coming here, training with people that are better than me and older than me and that is how i

will learn, at united i was the old est will learn, at united i was the oldest one and had been there the longest and it was not pushing me are making me better so liverpool will definitely make me better. and number of her new team—mates are off to the netherlands for the euros this summer. when it comes around next time she will be 20, the age i was when i went to my first tournament as a liverpool player. perhaps she will do the same? before we go all let's bring you up—to—date with the rose bowl, england playing south africa, the tourists won the toss, david willey bawling out with the first delivery. south africa are now 32—3 from four overs, mark wood with the third wicket. england going very well. that's all from sportsday. there'll be more sport here on bbc news throughout the evening but for now thank you very much for

watching. you are watching bbc news, back to the queen's speech and of its 27 bells eight concerned brexit on subjects as diverse as immigration and fisheries. inevitably this means and fisheries. inevitably this means a lot of work for the civil service preparing for the new legislation. in march the national audit office warned there were too few new civil service recruits to deal with brexit. i'm joined now by the general secretary of the union which represents senior and middle management civil servants, thank you for joining management civil servants, thank you forjoining us. is the civil service ready for brexit? of course we are ready for brexit? of course we are ready to deliver the government ‘s agenda once it determines what it is. but what is clear is that the government has not given the civil service the resources necessary to cope with the surge in demand that inevitably comes from brexit both in
6:54 pm
terms of the legislation may have set out today and also to support the government ‘s negotiations and cope with the consequences of whatever deal is ultimately delivered. what resources do you want? the government has only given one government department any extra money, they put resources into the two new departments because they had to, creating two new departments but every other department has had to cope with the consequences are preparing for brexit on top of the agenda they had and the spending cuts they had to deliver. we have called on the new government to have a new comprehensive spending round, it's quite clearly madness, the idea we have got spending commitments set in 2015 before the referendum and will not deal with the consequences of the referendum. the government has to revisit those and give the department is the resources necessary. what other resources, what actual resources the other departments need if two new departments need if two new departments have been created and
6:55 pm
resourced, what's the problem with the existing departments? for example, deaf, about 80% of what they do is impacted upon by the european union but not a single penny defra has been given. there is an estimate there will be a fivefold increase in borders checks so it's whether it's the borders, the home office, defra, government departments need resources. if they do not get them a just means they will have to cut something else, why would we want to do brexit on the cheap? so you are saying the government has ignored all this? the fa ct government has ignored all this? the fact is they have known about brexit for a year. exactly and the chancellor had an opportunity at the autumn statement post—referendum to look at the spending of all the government departments, notjust the small number that he created to deal
6:56 pm
with brexit because almost every government department is impacted upon that, the chancellor did not ta ke upon that, the chancellor did not take the opportunity so we are now saying to the chancellor with a new government and a clearer idea a p pa re ntly government and a clearer idea apparently of what they want to deliver now is the time for a new spending round for the civil service. when you expect that? the government did not say anything about it today. the chancellor has his one physical event which he wanted, a budget and autumn statement later in the year, that's the opportunity for him to talk to departments in advance, what resources a re departments in advance, what resources are required and give those resources to the civil service to deliver. we want the best outcome possible, why would you therefore star of the civil service the very people to deliver that i'd come in terms of exiting the eu, all the resources necessary? we will leave it there, thank you forjoining us. thank you. moving on, the news that

from the station, we are in quite a busy part of the town centre. that is why a number of people have come out to see what's going on. but yes, it's cordoned off, there isjust a pile of rubble but the crane dead colla pse pile of rubble but the crane dead collapse on a building site. all right, thanks for the latest. julia to rate, this all happensjust right, thanks for the latest. julia to rate, this all happens just after about 5pm, a crane collapsed, quite about 5pm, a crane collapsed, quite a few people saw it and there are some pictures from the internet, that's the same cordoned off by the police. two people we were just been told, two people still trapped, one person we think is the driver airlifted to hospital. the situation still ongoing there with the area cordoned off while the emergency services try to release those people still trapped. the crane there is

try to help get rid of the other crane involved. 100 days plus coming up crane involved. 100 days plus coming up but that is it from us. welcome to one hundred days. the queen sets out the government's agenda without the poll and circumstance. this is a programme light on detail from the government. no carriage, no gallon. the queen arrived to set out her government's programme and brexit dominates. my ministers are committed to working with parliament, the devolved administrations, business and others to build the widest possible consensus on the country's future outside the european union. the queen made no mention of donald trump's state visit to the uk but the home secretary said it will go
