i don't feel like we have moved beyond the position of defending our right to exist yet, my experience as a gay man is very much about proving my right to be who i am, now, still, before having the luxury to reflect on how i can be a healthy, joyous version of that. applause this is notjust a gay issue, when society fails to support lgbt children, whole families are devastated, it is time that we all woke up to this mental health crisis. studio: that's about it for tonight. we're in the midst of prom season and tomorrow there's a new treat, the first ever relaxed prom. it's a concert created for children and adults with autism and learning disabilities, and others with sensory impairments. eva stewart, piccolo player for the bbc national orchestra of wales, is here to perform the flight of the bumblebee. but she's saving her costume for tomorrow. good night.

it's was a rather amazing day for england's ben stokes and toby roland jones on on the second day of the third test with south africa at the oval. with the best of four series level at one—each, england took control thanks to a wonderful 112 from stokes and four wickets from roland jones on his england debut. south africa ended the day on 126 for 8. he may not be the captain any longer but no one can deny these innings we re but no one can deny these innings were white cap that made. this bowling ended the former skipper‘s chances. but on what was a different
11:48 pm
kind of celebration, another englishman reached three figures. ben stokes tried as his half—century put the hosts on a front foot. a fine session continued after lunch as toby roland jones showed us just how comfortable he is playing test cricket. things can change quickly at this level as roland jones discovered, no matter. the man at the other end took on south africa. three sixes in quick succession, one to get to 97, even though he was nearly caught out, and another to ta ke nearly caught out, and another to take ben stokes to three figures. at the fund would have to end. one big shot too many and it was all out for 353. so what england really needed now was an early wicket. remember that name roland jones? what a start to his debut and it got far, far, far better! hashim amla and quinton

to cock also followed. the captain faf du plessis is was out and three more of his teammates as well. stuart ord getting a brilliant wicket on a brilliant day. this was a pretty special day. coming into it we knew we wanted to push ourselves as high as possible. still pretty testing conditions at times out there. and we were elevated to a school which we always felt was competitive in the game. very helpful when you've got guys at the end of your mark with the experience and they were pretty calm in guiding me through the opening few overs and then, yeah, used the adrenaline to keep me going. more bad news for south africa because their fast bowler vernon philander is spending the night in hospital on a drip after missing large spells of the match so far

11:51 pm
and injured his face. earlier, frampton had apologised to fans after failing to make the weight, meaning the clash had already lost it's status as a featherweight title eliminator. frampton was a pound overweight, so he wouldn't have gone on to face the wbc champion gary russelljr as a mandatory challenger. usain bolt‘s career in athletics could go on and on, according to his long time rivaljustin gatlin. the american won 100 metres gold at the athens olympics in 2004 and is still going at the age of 35. he thinks bolt might reconsider his decision to quit after next week's world championships in london, should he miss competing at the top level. the special thing about it is he is such a predominant figure who will make a buoy in our sport, but it will be filled with such young athletes and athletes there now who

wa nt to athletes and athletes there now who want to make a name for themselves. but he is still coming back. once he leaves he can still come back, had the year of rest and keep coming back. we think we might do that? once he has had a break? why not? he has that rockstar mentality where he might travel the world, have fun in different places, then come back and say, i want to take this seriously. england have suffered an agonising 38—34 defeat in the wheelchair rugby league world cup final. leading by a couple of points with just over two minutes remaining, hosts france scored to repeat their victory over england in the final four years ago. england's women have started their preparations for their big quarterfinal meeting with france at euro 2017. the build up has been marked by a war of words between the two managers ahead of sunday's match. our sports correspondent katie gornall is with the england camp. england fans are enjoying their journey through the netherlands. where are the teams have succumbed
11:53 pm
to pitfalls, bayside has sailed smoothly through. england are up here at the moment. confidence has perhaps never been higher. last night, despite not being at their best, england maintained their 100% record to beat portugal and progress to the quarter—finals. the only player to have started every game so far is also england's newest recruit, 23—year—old milly bright. for herfamily recruit, 23—year—old milly bright. for her family who have travelled to the netherlands to see her play in her first the netherlands to see her play in herfirst major the netherlands to see her play in her first major tournament, it was another proud moment. this isjust little milly. she has always dreamt of this. all of a sudden we have come to watch england, it has been unreal. every games since then she keeps kicking on and on for the last few years. it has been sensational. for women in sport, they are getting there. the cricket team, their
11:54 pm
achievement, and hopefully the england women. it's what women's sport needs. progress has also been made off the pitch. mark samson's side is the best prepared and most well funded england team get. whereas many big teams have struggled at this tournament, england has three wins from three. next they face france, 18 they haven't beaten since 1974. the french have been one of the pretournament favourites but only just scraped through their group. still, there has been fighting talk between the camps. we are keen streetfighters and when we get poked a little bit we will have to poke back. i went back down from the challenge. look at the history of this team and what they've come through to get where they are, nothing has been given to them, nothing has been given to them, nothing has been easy. quarter-final on sunday promises to be a spiky affair, but england fans aren't ready to go home yet. so that's almost it for sportsday,
11:55 pm
