minutes each month walking at a brisk pace — putting their health at risk, according to a new report. public health england is launching a new campaign to encourage ten minutes of brisk walking a day, particularly among the middle aged, which it's claimed can help prevent cancer, heart disease and poor mental health. joining me now isjenny harries, who is the deputy medical director at public health england. good evening. how much distance, realistically can a ten minute brisk walk make quiz i get a huge amount. the national guidelines are to minutes of moderate exercise a week for the greatest benefit. but we found just ten minutes of continuous brisk walking each day of the week, you will get half of that. if you exercise regularly, it reduces risk of diabetes by a0%, and early death by 15%. these are significant
