england's women are right back in the ashes series after winning the third one day international against australia. it was a match england couldn't afford to lose. and their performance was much improved, 284 for 8 was their highest—ever odi total against australia, as the hosts lost crucial wickets late on. despite hitting a boundary to finish, australia fell 20 runs short of their target. and with australia only needing eight points in the series to retain the ashes, this win keeps england's hopes alive heading into the test match, & t20 matches to come. meanwhile, the mens team have arrived in australia ready for their ashes series which begins next month. captainjoe root has been talking up their chances, pointing to the strength they have in the squad, with the likes of alastair cook, james anderson and stuart broad. we have got three of england's best all—time players in terms of runs with alastair cook, jimmy and stuart broad. we have guys who have stood up over the last couple of years. we are a different side to the last time we came here. we are a side that has
