derby between liverpool and everton at anfield. the two sides last met in the competition in the semi finals at wembley back in 2012 when liverpool won 2—1. hereford, one of the lowest ranked team left in the competition, will play leicester if they win their second round replay against fleetwood town tomorrow night. here are are some of the other matches to whet your appetite. the matches will be played on the weekend of 6—7 january. an all premier league clash at the amex where brighton host crystal palace — no love lost betwen those two sides. another all top flight match with high flying manchester city at home to burnley. 12 times winners manchester united play derby. and premier league side newcastle could face a tricky tie against league two leaders luton. there are three non—league sides left in the competition — woking, filed, and hereford. non—league side are now out, after being swept aside by rochdale in this evening‘s second round match. matty doan scored in injury time to complete a 4—0 win.

rochdale are away to doncaster rovers next in the third round. wolves have re—established their four—point lead at the top of the championship. they beat birmingham city at st andrew‘s for the third season running. wolves had two efforts well saved by birmingham keeper david stockdale before leo bonatini‘s shot was adjudged to have crossed the goalline after the use of goal—line technology. birmingham had harlee dean sent off late on. and wolves held firm for their sixth straight win. manchester united‘s paul pogba will serve a three match ban for his sending off against arsenal on saturday. he was given a straight red card for stamping on hector bellerin — united have decided not to appeal against the decision. so he‘ll miss the manchester derby on sunday — as well as the next two games against bournemouth and west brom. despite sitting in the premier league relegation zone, crystal palace have today announced ambitious plans to transform their stadium selhurst park

in a £100 million makeover. the club is to build a 5—tier main stand, which will increase the capacity from 26,000 to more than 34,000, over the course of three years. palace chairman steve parish says he wants to make the revamped stadium an icon of south london. if we do get relegated this year or next year, we still intend to do it. it‘s very important to the future of this football club that i think it makes a statement. when you look at a football club, what do you think those are good the stadium is the first thing you think of. i don‘t think this is commensurate with what we are doing. we need something better. whoever we are end up this season or next. i think is the right scale and size. england manager gareth southgate has been told his job is safe, even if his side loses every game at next year‘s world cup in russia.

southgate signed a four—year deal last december and the fa say he‘ll be in charge for the "next few tournaments". they say they have a long—term plan and they‘re already seeing results, with world cup successes for the under—17 and under—20 sides. meanwhile it‘s been announced that the bbc will show england‘s first two group matches at next years world cup. the games against tunisia on 18june and panama on 24thjune will be live across tv, radio and online. they will also have the first two choices of quarter final games, including england‘s match, if they progress. britain‘s kelly sotherton is to be awarded a bronze medal from the 2008 olympic games after russian heptathlete tatyana chernova failed to have a doping ban overturned. chernova was stripped of the medal she won at beijing earlier this year after testing positive for a steroid. it means sotherton will receive the bronze 11 years after finishing fifth in the event, adding to the heptathlon bronze she won four years earlier in athens. top seed judd trump has been

the guardian says the dup has "wrecked" may‘s brexit plans. the metro‘s headline suggests the paper thinks the dup is exploiting its weight over the government. the mirror puns on the dup‘s name — suggesting mrs may has been "duped" by them. the sun‘s front page focuses on a story about meghan markle‘s relationship with her father. let‘s begin with, well, it‘s the headline in all the papers pretty much in the morning but the mirror with the one word headline "duped". summing up what a lot of the papers are saying. i think it's right. it's the culmination of two things. the possible brexit deal but also the minority government being propped up by the dup. i think that came to a

head today in the brexit negotiations. extraordinary the way these events unfold and picked up in all the papers. it's astonishing. it seemed to start so well. donald tusk saying this is why i like mondays had a great call with the taoiseach. now it is a grid monday for the negotiations. the mirror touches on jeremy corbyn, highlighting the grubby dup deal, and the dup threatening to throw their toys out of the pram essentially. they pointed out that the text on offer would have potentially put the union at risk. tory backbenchers rallied behind the dup and the prime minister has taken flight and
