you out on court other than later but all eyes will be on the rudd labour arena this evening for the night session and roger federer. thank you very much for your time, we will let you get back to it. the four—time olympic gymnastics champion simone biles says she was sexually abused by the former team usa gymnastics sports doctor larry nassar. nassar is serving a 60—yearjail sentence for having child sex abuse images on his computer. he is also awaiting sentence after admitting assaulting female gymnasts. biles stated on social media that: i too am one of the many survivors sexually abused by larry nassar. please believe me when i say it was a lot harder to speak those words out loud than it is now to put them on paper. there are many reasons i have been reluctant to share my story, but i now know it's not my fault. we need to know why this was able to take place for so long, and to so many of us. there has been disappointment for chinese snooker fans. ding junhui has lost in the first round of the masters tournament in london, which features the world's top 16 players. the former champion was beaten 6—4 by ryan day. 0ur reporterjamie broughton

was watching at alexandra palace. china's ding junhui is the biggest snooker star in asia, and his matches are watched by a vast tv audiences. ding is an entertaining player to watch, and he made a confident start against ryan day. the former masters champion quickly w011 the former masters champion quickly won the opening three frames, to raise two or 3—0 lead. but, just when the match looked like it might is starting to slip away from day, he responded. crucially he won frame four, the last before the big session break. after the interval, the welshman really turned on the style. he made back—to—back centuries to entertain the large crowd watching in the auditorium. the welshman then won the next, to ta ke the welshman then won the next, to take the lead for the first time. ding had a great chance to win frame

website, including updates on the australian open tennis. from me and the rest of the sport today team, until next time, good life. —— goodbye. hello there. i think some people might welcome the change to the weather this week from what we had last week — grey, damp, drizzly conditions. this week is looking colder. certainly we're getting our air sourced from the arctic, from greenland. it's going to bring strong winds, sunshine, and showers. the showers will continue to be frequent as they will through the course of the night, and early on into tuesday. with snow falling over the higher ground the north, even some wintriness down to lower levels. to the south, largely of rain. on tuesday itself, looking colder than it has been. windy, as well, and there will be a mixture of sunshine and showers. some will be heavy and a frequent.

most of them in the north and west of the uk. watch out for ice first thing, as well, across parts of scotland, northern ireland, and north—west england. there will be accumulating snow on the hills. some wintriness down to lower levels. add on the wind, it's going to be quite a wild morning. there could be some ice, as well, across parts of northern and western wales. but i think, to the south of here, these showers should be mainly of rain, maybe a little wintriness over the very highest hills. but, for east anglia into the east midlands and the south—east, a largely dry start. but chilly wherever you are, if you factor in that wind. throughout the day it will be blustery. west or north—west winds will be touching gale—force in exposure, blowing in plenty of showers, as you can see here, mostly in the north and west. snow, maybe even blizzard conditions. accumulating snow over the high ground in the north. if you factor in the wind, it will feel more like sub—zero, with the north wind. on wednesday, fewer showers.

they will be most frequent across the north and north—west corner of the country. accumulating snow on the hills and wintry to the lower levels. there's some good, lengthy spells of sunshine in parts of england and wales. temperatures of 3—7 degrees. now, things get quite interesting as we head into the middle of the week. we look out to the atlantic to the next area of low pressure. it looks like it's going to be a deepening area of low pressure, and could bring a significant spell of gales, maybe even severe gales, to england and wales. and to the northern flank, in the cold air, we could see some significant snow through central southern scotland. so either where you get the gales or the snow in the north, it is likely there could be some disruption possible to this system, so keep tuned to bbc local radio. but the good news is it will hurtle through quite quickly. thursday morning, the wind will have died down, the snow will have eased. not a bad day for many central, southern, and eastern areas. plenty of sunshine. further blustery showers across the north and west. and things look that they've calmed down slightly as we head on towards the end of the week and into the weekend, but remaining on the cold side.
