going to be what the us interest rates are going to do. this has been the biggest obstacle and the biggest near—term risk to our regional assets. uber's founder and former chief executive travis kalanick has testified that his company stole self—driving car technology from its rival, alphabet. earlier, iasked what they hope to gain from his court appearance. what the lawyers are trying to do is basically suggested travis kalanick was at the centre of an orchestrated campaign to steal these secrets from google, and so today when he was on the stand for the first time, day two of the trial and he will be back on wednesday, the story that has been fiction of him is that he was meeting with the former google employee while he was still at google, it trying to create this new

company that would later then be acquired by hoover and form the basis of its self—driving division. —— uber. in the process, google alleges that that former employees stole 14,000 confidential documents and they later formed part of their technology later down the line. they are saying that this is the kind of character travis kalanick is, showing notes and e—mails, reportedly quoting what he was saying in meetings, that he wanted to get pounds of flash is the phrase that he used off google. they have not been able to show that there is a direct connection between those 14,000 files and what eventually became uber's self—driving car technology. that is likely to come in wednesday's session when travis kalanick will be back in court again. that was dave lee in silicon valley. in other business news, mickey mouse and cinderella are

hours. families of the victims of the hyde park bombing, carried out by the ira in 1982, have been awarded legal aid to bring a civil action against a suspect — the convicted ira bomber, john downey. his trial collapsed after it was revealed he'd previously been given an assurance by british officials that he would not be prosecuted. 0ur correspondent daniela relph has the story. it was a terror attack from another time, the 20thjuly 1982. an ira car bomb detonated near hyde park, then another device exploded under a bandstand nearby. amongst those killed were four soldiers from the household cavalry, squadron quartermaster corporal roy bright, lieutenant anthony daly, lance corporal jeffrey young, and trooper simon tipper. he was then just 19 years old. for his family, this has been a long and continuing fight for justice. i can sleep easy again. my brother can rest easy

where he is now, and that's all i ask. i don't ask any more. i don't want nothing from this whatsoever. all i want is the truth. john downey was the prime suspect. convicted of ira membership in the 1970s, he was charged with the bombing in 2014. he always denied any involvement, but his case collapsed. as part of the good friday agreement, john downey had been sent an on—the—run letter, it gave him an assurance that he would not face trial. the scheme was heavily criticised. tony blair, whose government implemented on—the—run letters, fiercely defended them. without having done that, we would not have a northern ireland peace process in place today. being able to pay for a civil action is a major breakthrough for the families of those who lost their lives here. there is a long legal road ahead, but now, they have hope. seven horses were also killed in the hyde park bombing,
